Brewing up a Storm

It was just another typical day for our Drago Rangers. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and an army of Scale Shedders were terrorizing the city of Berk.

Taking the call to action were Hiccup, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Dagur and Heather, all dressed up in their respective black, red, yellow, violet and silver Power Ranger suits and were doing their best to take out the swarm of Shedders in front of them.

In a moment, Dagur had gotten on all fours to allow Heather to leap off of his back before sending a flurry of silver spikes that don't actually hit any of the Shedders, but do give them the warning to back off. Seeing as how that wasn't as effective, Dagur gets back up and knocks out each Shedder with powerful punches.

Snotlout soon finds himself with Shedders on either side of him, so he has the two of them thrust their right fists forward in attempt to punch them, but in a split second he ducks down and makes the two Shedders punch each other in the face.

If only to add insult to injury, Snotlout also spin kicks the black suited, alien-like masked crooks onto the ground.

Fishlegs manages to knock over a large trash can with his expanded fists and then rolls the can down the inclined street, tripping over Shedders as he comments, "Time to take out the trash."

Hiccup then slashes at Shedders with his black hilted Drago sword when he notices something is off. "Wait, hold on, where's Astrid? She's usually the first to respond to fights."

Dagur replies, "I've been trying to get ahold of her, but have gotten nothing."

Hiccup replies as he raises both fists to the side to knock out two Shedders. "Well, she better be doing something really important."

Unbeknownst to the other Rangers, Astrid's parents, a blond-haired woman and a black-haired Asian man, were shopping at a nearby store when the Shedders started attacking. Astrid's mom comments, "Those are the guys who have been attacking us for months. Oh, I hope Astrid is safe."

Astrid's dad pats her on the shoulder and replies, "Relax, look, the Power Rangers have this. Besides, Astrid is at home studying, there's no way she can hurt herself."

However, that's when from the corner of their eyes, they spot the blond-haired girl running into the scene of the battle. "Astrid?" Astrid's mom asks, "What is she doing here?"

Astrid looks down to the Shedders attacking her fellow rangers as Snotlout spots her and comments, "About time you got here!"

Astrid replies, "Yeah, sorry I'm late, had to wait for my parents to leave the house."

Heather replies, "Well, we could sure use your help now!"

Astrid nods and stands straight as her parents watch from behind. Not even realizing she's being watched, Astrid then throws up her arms like dragon wings and calls, "DRAGO FURY…" and it was like time slowed down around her as her parents watch her complete her Morphing pose while adding, "…FIRE UP!" causing her blue Power Ranger suit to pop up in a flash.

Staring in shock, Astrid's dad comments, "…Astrid?"

Once morphed up, Astrid says to the rest, "Hopefully this can make up for being so late. Magnesium Blast!" She leaps up and puts her arms in a circle as a ball of heat and energy forms that she throws at the Shedders, creating an explosion that knocks the Shedders off their feet.

Hiccup comments, "Hey, you're getting pretty good at that move, Astrid!"

Astrid smirks. "Like you're really surprised." She then stands on her head and spins, sending a ring of flames that knock out even more Shedders, enough to make the rest retreat back to the lair that they came from.

With the Shedders out of the way, the other rangers gather around Astrid to thank her for coming in when she did, but that's when they hear a stern voice from behind them that sends shivers up Astrid's spine. "AHEM!" They slowly turn around and, sure enough, Astrid's parents are standing right there, her mom with her hands on her hips and her dad with his arms crossed, both looking very displeased.

Astrid asks, "Uh…what can I do for you…citizens?"

Astrid's dad speaks up saying, "Save it, Astrid."

Realizing her secret identity was now in jeopardy, Astrid looks around to see if any of the other rangers were willing to back her up, but of course they had all left her alone, leaving her to wish the ground could open up from beneath and swallow her whole.

Not too long later in Astrid's parents' house, the three Hoffersons were in Astrid's bedroom with the younger of the three sitting on her blue sheeted bed as her parents stand there, expecting some form of explanation.

Astrid's Mom states, "Well? We're waiting."

Astrid could see there wasn't much use in lying or arguing here, so she lets out a sigh and replies, "…Fine, you caught me, I'm a Power Ranger."

She could tell that this was the answer they were expecting, but Astrid's Dad still states, "You could've told us sooner, you know."

Astrid shrugs. "I really can't, actually. Part of Ranger code is that I have to keep my identity secret, even from family."

Astrid's Mom states, "Oh, we are well aware of your code."

This strikes confusion in Astrid's mind. "How? How can you possibly know anything about the life that I am living?"

Astrid's parents exchange a glance before Astrid's Dad replies, "…We'll talk about this later, but until then you are grounded, young lady. No more of this Ranger business until further notice." He then holds out his hand expectantly.

Astrid looks up to her dad before sighing and giving him her blue Ranger Morpher. Astrid's Dad takes the Morpher and leaves her room along with Astrtid's mom. Seconds after the two of them close the door, Astrid hears a nasally voice from behind her. "Tough break."

Startled, she looks behind her and sees Hiccup standing at her bedroom window. "Must you do that?" She asks, not pleased with how he said hello.

Hiccup shrugs. "Not really, but it's kind of fun." Astrid then looks down in shame as Hiccup states, "I'm sorry this happened to you, Astrid."

Astrid then sighs. "Guess it is what it is. Think you could talk some sense into them?"

Hiccup then rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, Alicia kind of knew I would want to intervene so she made me promise to keep my mouth shut."

Hearing this, Astrid folds her arms together and pouts. "So you're not even going to help me." She mumbles out.

It was then that the door to Astrid's room bursts open with Astrid's dad asking, "Astrid, who are you talking to?" having heard the conversation between her and Hiccup.

A bit surprised, Astrid looks back to see that Hiccup had slipped off into the night, seemingly as quick as he arrived. Astrid sighs to herself and replies, "…Me, I guess."

Astrid's Dad walks over to the open window and pokes his head out, finding nobody around, not seeing that Hiccup had slipped behind a tree that the window looks out to. Astrid's Dad just states, "Well…alright." Before closing the window and leaving the room.

Later on, Astrid's parents were talking in the kitchen about the secret that Astrid had been keeping from them when Astrid's Dad states, "I can't believe she's been keeping this from us. For who knows how long?"

Astrid's Mom suggests while grabbing her husband's arm. "You know as well as I do that it's a very tough secret to keep."

Astrid's Dad sighs to that. "You're right, I do know…maybe it's time that we told her…our secret."

Astrid's Mom smiles to that. "I think she would understand." However, seconds later, some screaming was heard just outside as a group of Scale Shedders were dashing towards an old warehouse building.

Astrid's Dad comments, "It's those things again!"

Astrid's Mom adds, "Well, as long as Astrid is safe we can-" However, that's when they notice her running in the same direction as the Shedders. "ASTRID!" the blonde haired woman yells out.

Astrid's Dad comments, "Don't know what she expects to do without her…oh, that sneak!" the black haired man looks down and sees that, instead of Astrid's blue Drago Morpher in his hand, was a regular wrist watch that happened to be blue. "I swear, she is so grounded once I get to her!"

However, Astrid's Mom grabs him by the shoulder. "Hey…I think now is a good time to show her what we've been hiding."

Astrid's Dad looks back and sees the genuine look in her eyes before sighing. "Yes…yes, we should." They then go into the living room and use a key to open up a locked cabinet where they pull out a small box and open it up before Astrid's Dad sighs, "It's to save her."

Astrid's Mom simply nods before they reach into the box and pull out what's inside.

Astrid follows the Shedders into the warehouse where the other Drago Rangers happened to be and they see the Shedders trashing the place. Seeing Astrid there, Fishlegs comments, "Hey, I thought you were in a world of trouble! Did your parents let you go?"

Astrid shrugs. "Yeah…something like that."

Hiccup comments, "Well, in any case, we're glad you're here."

From deeper in the house, an Admin Scale Shedder, wearing the same black suit but with a red stripe that goes from the right shoulder to the left thigh, comments, "You rangers really have a knack for showing up at the right time!"

Dagur states, "And you Shedders have a knack for causing havoc for us to show up to."

Hiccup then asks the others, "Alright, it's morphing time! Ready?"

The others reply in unison, "READY!"

The four Drago Rangers then throw up their arms and call, "DRAGO FURY!"

While the Berserk Rangers hold their left arms back and call, "BERSERK FURY!"

And all six call, "FIRE UP!" while slapping their individual Morphers, causing Hiccup's black suit Snotlout's red suit, Astrid's blue suit, Fishlegs's yellow suit, Dagur's violet suit and Heather's silver suit to emerge in a flash.

The Admin Shedder scoffs. "You Rangers really think you have the upper hand? Well, how about this?" He presses a button on a device on his wrist, causing about 20 more Shedders to pop up on top of the 10 that were already there.

Hiccup comments, "Blast, we better proceed with caution." With that, the Shedders charge at the Rangers and the Rangers put up their fists to begin fighting the Shedders as best as they can.

The Rangers have a good start, but it soon becomes clear that the amount of Shedders there was too much for them and they began to get overwhelmed. After taking hits to the arms, Dagur comments, "Blast! We're outnumbered!"

Heather adds, "We need help!"

"Did someone ask for help?" Came a male voice that was all-too familiar to Astrid. Everyone in the room looks to see Astrid's parents simply walking up to the warehouse's entrance.

Not wanting to give away to the Shedders how she knows them, Astrid asks, "What are…you two doing here?"

Astrid's Mom then states, "We're here to help."

The Admin Shedder lets out an evil laugh. "What are you two oldies going to do here? Whack us with your canes?"

Astrid's Mom then states, "We can do much more than that. You ready for this, Blake?"

Astrid's Dad then adds, "I've been waiting a long time for this, Tori."

The two of them then raise their left arm to reveal a Power Ranger Morpher, one light blue with a dolphin fin symbol and one navy blue with a beetle claw symbol. Fishlegs then states, "Are those…MORPHERS?"

Astrid stares in total shock as she watches what happens next.

(GO! Power Rangers, GO! Ninja Storm, LET'S GO!)

Astri's Mom, Tori, then holds up two fingers on her right hand and raises it high while calling, "NINJA STORM, RANGER FORM, HA!" As she brings that hand down to her chest, puts her left arm over it, gestures from side to side and holds her arms out at full length. From there, the blue disc on her Morpher spins, causing a light blue Ranger Suit to emerge around her and a blue helmet cover her face.

Astrid's Mom, Blake, then does the same with his fingers but points down and calls, "THUNDER STORM, RANGER FORM, HA!" and pulls his left arm up before holding out his right hand and bringing it over to flip up the switch on his navy blue Morpher. From there, the Morpher makes a navy blue suit emerge around him as a helmet leaps up and lands on his head.

Once that was done, Tori holds out her hands calling, "POWER OF WATER!"

Before Blake calls, "POWER OF THUNDER!"

And they both call simultaneously, "NINJA RANGER POWERS!"

There was a moment of shock and silence as the Drago Rangers collect their thoughts before Astrid blurts out, "You two…are RANGERS?!"

The Admin Scale Shedder scoffs upon seeing these ninja rangers. "As if you two oldies can beat us! Shedders, ATTACK!"

The Shedders surround Tori and Blake as they put up their fists and begin fighting them off one by one.

Fishlegs then asks Astrid, "WHEN were you going to tell us that your parents are some of the greatest Rangers the world has ever seen?"

Astrid replies, "You're acting like I knew."

Hiccup then suggests, "Hey, can we talk about this later? I think they could use some help." and they go right back to fighting the Shedders.

Tori then leaps over a wall of Shedders before pulling out a light blue megaphone with a dolphin fin's tail and calls, "Sonic Fin! YAH!" She calls into it and sends soundwaves that knock the Shedders to the ground.

Blake then pulls out a red and black striped sword from the sheath on his back and begins swinging it around, knocking out a good handful of Shedders. Once that was done, however, Blake couldn't help but put a hand behind his aching back and commenting, "Augh, I'm getting too old for this!"

Astrid then leaps in and states, "Then allow me to help, old man." Before swinging her blue Drago Saber at even more Shedders and knocking them out, the other Rangers following in suit.

They all soon get to a point where the Rangers stood in a circle with Shedders surrounding them as the Admin Shedder approaches them. "Get real, dragon heads, you may have these veterans to back you up, but it's going to take a lot more to beat me!"

Tori then states, "Then more is just what you're going to get!" She then puts her hands together with her index and middle fingers pointing up as she calls, "Water Blast!"

While Blake does the same, calling, "Thunder Strike!"

Suddenly, a stream of electrified water comes down and knocks out every last Shedder, suspending them in the air as the shock waves zap them up. The stream then captures the Admin Shedder but doesn't quite shock him, that's when Tori states, "You guys are up!"

Astrid nods as Snotlout pulls out his red Nightmare blaster, to which Astrid attaches on her folded blue Nadder Axe, Fishlegs with his yellow Gronk Bludgeon and Hiccup with his black Night Fury sword as they call, "DRAGO BLASTER!"

Heather then folds up her silver Razor Battle Axe and attaches it to the back of Dagur's Tri-Stryke Blaster before pointing that at the Shedder and calling, "Razor-Stryke Blaster!" The Drago Rangers fire their combined weapons, creating two blasts that was enough to make the Admin Shedder explode where he stood.

With all that done, the Rangers, both old and new, high five one another for another successful victory as Astrid hugs her parents and thanks them a ton for helping.

Later, back at Astrid's house, Astrid sat in between her parents on the living room sofa as they hold out a picture showing the two of them, only much younger, along with a tan skinned man, a man with curly haired man, a blonde haired man, a man with glasses and a bowl haircut and a much older man.

Upon seeing the picture, Astrid asks, "So wait…this is you guys?"

Blake nods. "Exactly that. Back when we were closer to your age. We were known as the Ninja Storm Rangers."

Astrid then asks, "So…what happened then?"

Tori explains, "Well, after our team disbanded for good we decided it was time for us to settle down and focus on a simpler life, it was around that time that your father finally admitted his love for me and it wasn't long after that that we got married and had you."

Fishlegs then gets on his knees and comments, "Sorry, I just can't believe I never knew you two were so…legendary! Tori, you made history as the world's first female blue Ranger, and Blake, you were one of the strongest of your team!"

Tori chuckles to that. "So we've heard."

Looking down at the picture in front of Astrid, Snotlout asks, "Uh, who's the old guy?" he asks while pointing to the bald old man wearing a white robe.

Blake states, "That's our Sensei."

Snotlout raises a brow to that. "Sen-sei?"

Heather then explains, "A ninja mentor, basically."

Not really paying attention to Snotlout, Astrid points to the blonde haired man and asks, "Isn't that…Uncle Hunter?"

Blake nods. "That's right, he was our crimson Ranger."

Tori then points to the tan skinned man and comments, "And that's Shane, our red Ranger…" then to the curly haired man, "…Dustin, our yellow Ranger…" then to the man with glasses, "…and Cam, our green Ranger."

Snotlout then asks, "Wait, you guys had a green ranger? How come we don't have green? I think that would look so cool!"

Hiccup then comments, "It's not like we had a choice."

Hearing all of this, Astrid puts the picture down on the coffee table in front of her and asks, "So…why didn't you guys tell me?"

Blake explains, "Well, we were, when we felt like you were ready, I guess we just didn't expect you to be ready so soon."

Tori then rubs Astrid's knee and states, "And I know we tried to lock you up, earlier, but the truth was that we knew how dangerous being a Power Ranger really is, so we wanted to protect you…but from what we saw today, you don't need any protection whatsoever."

Hearing that made a huge smile emerge on Astrid's face, so she holds her parents closer and says to them, "Thank you…so much."

Blake pats Astrid on the back and states, "Well, I'm afraid you won't be seeing much more of the Ninja Rangers. I'm afraid our age caught up to us during that fight."

Hiccup then states, "Well, it was a pleasure to work with you two, and hopefully, once we get rid of the Scale Shedders for good, we can talk more sometime."

Blake smiles to that. "I'd like that, Hiccup, thank you."

With that, the sun sets into Berk's horizon and ends a very eventful day.
