I wake up the next morning to a huge headache. Last night after Payback, we went out and celebrated my big win and I am feeling it this morning. I roll over and see a glass of water on the nightstand and scull it. "Morning." I groan sitting up.
"How are you feeling?" Celeste asks.
"Like shit."
"You were hilarious last night." April mentions.
"Please tell me I didn't make a fool of myself?"
"You didn't, you were having a good time." Celeste assures.
I sigh. "I didn't do anything stupid or make out with anyone did I?"
"No you were too drunk to pay attention." April replies laughing.
"How many times did I fall?"
"Five."
"Shit!"
Once I'm up April, Celeste and I go to the gym. We walk in and I see Issie at the front desk. "Issie." I call out.
She turns around and smiles. "Serena, you did awesome last night, congratulations." She congratulates.
"Thanks girl."
"Who are these two?" Issie asks curiously diverting her eyes behind me.
"Issie, these are my friends, April and Celeste" I introduce.
"April." April greets shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you, you ladies killed it last night."
"Thanks and Celeste." Celeste finishes and we walk into the gym. "Was that the same Issie?"
"The same one. She owns this place and another other gym down the road."
Arriving at the arena we make our way to the locker room. When we walk in a loud pop goes off and confetti blasts all over me. I jump in surprise as the ladies yell. "Surprise!"
I turn to face Celeste and April. "Did you two know about this?" I ask them and they nod smiling. I turn back to face the others. "Thanks girls so much, I wasn't expecting this."
"You deserve it and we wanted to surprise you." Nattie explains.
Once have had some cakes I drop my stuff off and we head to our weekly meeting. We walk in and I'm stopped by Mark. "Congratulations on your match last night, it was amazing." He congratulates me again.
"Thank you." I thank.
"Now you can't wrestle this week due to your ribs, but we'll get you in the ring for a segment."
"No worries."
We all sit down and face Jane and Mark. "First of all, congratulations to Serena on winning the title." Jane begins.
"And another big congratulations to Celeste and April who also put on a great match, it was amazing to watch and you all should be proud of what you did." Mark expresses.
"Thanks." April and Celeste say in unison.
"Our next paperview is Money in the Bank, where Sarah will have her first title defence and it will be against AJ as she will have her rematch." Jane announces.
"Tonight, Sarah will address the WWE Universe on her win and AJ will interrupt." Mark continues. "After the confrontation, AJ is going to slap Sarah but Brie will come out and attack AJ from behind. This will turn into a singles match with Sarah on commentary."
"Tomorrow on Mainevent there will be a tag match with The Funkadactles versus Alicia Fox and Layla." Jane lists. "And on Smackdown it will be Natalya verses Kaitlyn."
After our meeting I head to hair and make-up where Amy is waiting patiently for me. "Here comes the champ." She welcomes.
I smirk. "Bow down bitch." I joke.
She laughs. "What's the plan for tonight?"
"I have an in ring segment and I'm on commentary so make me flawless."
"I got you." She assures and gets straight to work.
Once she's done her thing I look at myself in the mirror and see long curly hair flowing down my back. "I love it thank you." I thank.
"Any time Serena."
On the way back to the locker room I'm on my phone when I bump into Jon and Colby. "Hey." I greet a little too excited.
"Congrats again champ." Colby congratulates smiling.
"Thank you. It's finally processed that I'm the champ." I respond.
"Told you it would." Jon retorts. "How'd you end up after last night?"
I put my head down in shame. "It was not pretty."
"You deserved to celebrate winning the championship, it's a big deal." Colby reassures.
"It is." I agree. I then glance at my phone and see the time. "I better go finish getting ready, see you guys around."
Tonight I'm wearing a white two piece bandage dress that shows off my curves which is paired with black ankle boots. I add my new accessory my divas title and put it around my shoulder and look at myself in the mirror.
"You look hot." a voice says from behind me.
I turn around and it's Nicole. "Thanks." I thank.
"The title looks good on you too."
"It does doesn't it."
"Vain, I like it." She chuckles.
"How's your leg?"
"Better, but I'm still out for a while."
"You'll be back sooner than you think."
"And when I do, if you have that title, watch out bitch."
"If I have the title? I will have the title."
I'm called to the gorilla and I meet up with April. "Ready?" She asks.
"Born ready." I grin and hear my music start. "See you out there."
I walk out with my title on my shoulder and I stand up at the top of the ramp and take in the thunderous reaction. I take the title off my shoulder and raise it above my head and point to the crowd. "Here comes the new Divas Champion." Jerry says excitedly.
"That title looks great on her." Cole compliments.
I walk down the ramp and listen to the crowd cheering my name. I get in the ring and make my way over to get a mike. I wait for the crowd to quiet down but once my music stops it gets louder. "Sarah, Sarah, Sarah." I send them all a grin. "Hello Seattle." I yell out.
"The roof just blew off." Jerry exclaims.
"When was the last time a diva got this type of reception?" JBL wonders.
"Everybody having a good night?" I ask cheerfully and they all let out a big cheer in response. "Last night I became the new Divas Champion in one hell of a match, trust me I am still feeling the effects of it." I say holding my ribs. "I want to thank you all for supporting me and I love each and every one of you." I continue and they cheer some more. "These past few months have been a roller coaster of a ride, and now that I'm at top, I won't be coming back down. I made a promise to you all that I'll become the divas champion and what did I do? I withheld that promise and I succeeded." I exclaim and the crowd cheers as I raise my title above my head.
I'm about to speak when AJ's music comes on and she walks out glaring at me. "Look who's decided to interrupt the champion." Cole scoffs.
"Can I help you?" I ask rudely and the crowd oohs.
She brings the mike up to her mouth. "Enjoy this moment Sarah because that title does not belong to you, you stole it from me and I'm going to get it back." she declares as she walks down the ramp. "You got lucky but at Money in the Bank, but that title will be back where it belongs."
"Are we going to see a fight right now?" Jerry wonders.
"Are you done?" I ask loudly and the crowd laughs. "Just stop it, you lost and I won." I exclaim. "I've been warning you about that for weeks." I chuckle. "Here's the reality and I'll spell it out for you. You can try your very best, but this title is never leaving my side." I enforce. "You can challenge me and any other diva in that locker room can challenge me, but just remember that it will be me who wins every single time." I promise. "You did well last night, I had to fight with everything I had but I still outsmarted both you and Kaitlyn and I'd be dammed to let you take that away from me." I continue. "You can wine all you like, but I won this fair and square and there is nothing you can dam well do about." I enforce getting in her face and I raise my title above me and stare her down.
AJ then starts to laugh but then starts to freak out. "I will get my title back." She shrieks.
"AJ has lost it." JBL mentions.
"I'll see you at Money in the Bank AJ, I'm up for any fight and I will win and that is a promise." I enforce and she suddenly slaps me.
The crowd oohs as I hold my cheek and turn away from AJ with a grin. "Is Sarah grinning?" Jerry asks.
"You're going to regret that."
"What are you going to do about it?"
I walk around her and go to leave but I turn back. "This." I answer and the crowd cheers as Brie comes out from the crowd and attacks AJ from behind. I hug Brie as AJ gets up glaring. "Did I forget to mention you have a match tonight, a little gift from me to you, and your match is right now." I announce. "So get a ref out here!"
"It looks like AJ and Brie Bella will have a match tonight." Cole announces.
The referee comes out as I whisper in Brie's ear and make my way over to the announce table. "And it looks like Sarah will be joining us." JBL alerts and stands up as I approach them.
"Hi." I greet grabbing a head set.
"First of all congratulations on your win last night." Cole congratulates.
"Thank you Michael." I thank taking a seat and place the title on my lap.
The referee rings the bell. "And we have divas action starting off right now, AJ Lee Vs Brie Bella with our new Divas Champion, Sarah joining us on commentary." Jerry announces.
"So how are you feeling right now?" Cole asks me.
"I'm over the moon. I got a little mad from being so rudely interrupted but come Money In The Bank she'll never think to lay a hand on me again."
"Nice drop kick by Brie." JBL praises watching the match.
Brie places AJ in a sleeper hold. "Come on Brie." I yell out.
"You and Brie Bella seem close, how did you get her to attack AJ?" Jerry asks.
"If I told you I'd have to kill you." I retort playfully and they all laugh. "I would have loved to lay a good one right back, but because of the brutality of my match last night, I was told not to have any physical contact. So Brie kindly stepped in to help me if I needed it."
AJ starts to fight back and drop kicks Brie and delivers a neck breaker and covers her "1, 2" but Brie kicks out. "Kick out by Brie Bella." JBL announces.
"So what's it like being back in your hometown?" Cole asks me.
"It's so good to be home." I respond. "I haven't been home in years and coming back here and winning the Divas Championship in front of my family and friends it doesn't get much better than that."
"No it doesn't." JBL agrees.
I look back in the ring and both Brie and AJ have run the ropes. AJ picks up speed and beets Brie to the middle and locks Brie in The Black Widow. "Brie's caught." Jerry shouts.
I stand up just as Brie taps and AJ smiles and rolls out of the ring. I get in the ring and help Brie up and glare down at AJ. "That title is mine." she shouts as she walks up the ramp.
Once the show is over I find Nicole and Brie who are waiting for me. "Hey." I greet.
"You ready?" Brie asks me.
"Let's go." I respond putting my bags in the back of the rental car. We get in the car and once I'm inside I instantly smell something off. "Hey do you smell that?" I ask the girls. They shake their heads. I continue to sniff and I immediately know what it is. "Shit, get out of the car now, it's gas!" I shout and we bolt out of the car. We immediately start running as far away as possible and when I look behind us all of a sudden the car explodes. We come to a stand still and I'm trying to get my heart rate down and my breath back but i'm struggling. I hold my ribs in pain and people start running over to us. "I can't breathe." I try to inform the girls.
"Serena, are you okay?" Nicole asks me frantically.
"Can't breathe." I repeat and I start to feel light headed and I collapse as Nicole catches me.
Brie's POV
As soon as Serena says it's gas, Nicole and I frantically get out of the car. Serena is a little behind us and when we hear a loud explosion we look back and see the car we were in has exploded. I look to Nicole who's in tears. "Are you okay?" I ask in shock.
She nods and we turn to Serena who looks like she's having trouble breathing. "I can't breathe." She attempts to say holding her ribs.
"Serena, are you okay?" Nicole asks walking up to her.
"Can't breathe." she repeats and collapses in Nicole arms.
People come running over to us. "What happened?" Nattie asks frantically.
"We don't know it happened so fast, we got in the car and Serena smelt something off and when we ran out of the car, it exploded." Nikki answers quickly.
Nattie notices Serena in Nicole's lap on the ground. "Is Serena okay?"
"She just collapsed, she was struggling to breath and looked to be in pain." I answer. I turn my head and hear sirens coming and more people running up to us, Brian, John, Vince, Paul, Colby and Jon. "Over here!" I call over.
They run to our direction and I glance back at Colby who's frozen in place staring at a passed out Serena. "What happened?" He asks concerned.
"She fainted." I answer. "We were in the car and Serena smelt gas. We got out of the car as fast as we could and it exploded. She was struggling to breath and looked to be in some pain."
"Is she breathing?"
"Yeah." Nicole answers.
Doc comes over and checks on Serena's vitals as the ambulance arrives. I hug Brian in comfort. "Are you two okay?" Vince asks us.
I nod. "Yeah, if it weren't for Serena we wouldn't have noticed." I respond.
"Do you think it was a hit on us?" Nicole asks teary eyed.
"We don't know but we'll look into this." Vince says sternly.
The ambulance arrives and they check on Serena first and load onto a stretcher and give her a drip. The other paramedics check out Nicole and myself and we are given the all clear. The paramedics load Serena into the back of the ambulance. "Who's going to go with her?" I ask.
"I'll go." Colby offers.
"We'll meet you at the hospital once we're finished here." Paul informs him.
"I'll keep everyone updated." Colby assures and the ambulance leaves.
