The next day I arrive at the arena and I pile into the locker room for Smackdown. After getting settled I head to hair and make-up. My hair is straight and I've gone for a red lip tonight too. Once I'm finished, I start to get changed into my gear; which is a matching white and hot pink crop top halter and shorts.
Once I'm ready I make my way to gorilla where I find Milena, Zivile, Sarona and April. They are given the signal to head out and once they they are in the ring my music starts and the crowd erupts as Brie, the Funkadactles and myself head out.
The Funks, Brie Bella and I stand at the top of the ramp taking in the cheers from the crowd. "And their opponents, the team of Brie Bella, the Funkadactles and the WWE Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces.
The Funkadactles get to the ring first, followed by Brie and lastly myself and we have a stare down with our opponents. We huddle in the corner and come up with a game plan.
Cameron and Aksana step forward and the rest of us exit the ring. "Ladies and gentleman, we have an eight diva tag team match." Cole announces. "Starting off this match is Cameron and Aksana."
Cameron and Aksana circle one another and look up. Cameron uses her speed and pushes Aksana into our corner. The referee has to force her back and Brie being the perfect villain, whilst the referees back is turned, starts choking Aksana and the crowd cheer.
AJ, Rosa and Tamina start pointing in our direction loudly and Brie let's go just as the ref turns around. "Brie Bella is fighting dirty." JBL notices.
Aksana gets to her feet as Cameron charges at her but she gets an elbow to the face and she stumbles back allowing Aksana to deliver a close line. "Close line to Cameron." Cole announces.
Aksana tags in Tamina and she immediately takes down Cameron with a closeline. Tamina gets back up and starts stomping on her. Cameron rolls on her stomach and reaches her hand out to our corner but Tamina pulls her back and AJ asks to be tagged in. Tamina hesitantly tags her in and AJ delivers a back breaker and covers Cameron. "1, 2." but she kicks out and rolls out of the ring.
AJ follows her out and pushes her against the barricade hard. Naomi and I hop down from and start to walk over to Cameron. As the referee turns around, Rosa and Aksana hop down and start stomping on Cameron as AJ distracts the ref.
Naomi and I make our way around the outside of the ring and we close line Rosa and Aksana. AJ sees this and gets out of the ring and gets in my face. "What are you going to do?" I taunt as she gets in my face. I decide to be a bitch and push her and the crowd oohs. "What are you going to do AJ?" I repeat laughing and walk back to my corner as AJ angrily rolls Cameron into the ring.
As AJ rolls back in the ring Cameron gets to her feet and kicks her in the head which allows Cameron to crawl over to our corner. "Come on Cameron." I yell out.
AJ does the same thing and tags in Tamina. Cameron makes it to the corner and tags me in. "Here comes The Divas Champion." JBL announces. I duck the incoming close line and deliver a kick to the back of Tamina's leg and follow it by three more making her fall to her knees. "Smart move by Sarah, take down the bigger woman."
I deliver a final kick to the back of her head and she collapses to the mat. "What a kick by Sarah." Cole shouts. I cover Tamina. "1, 2." but she kicks out.
I look to the corner and see Tamina is still on the ground. I start climbing the corner and the crowd cheers loudly, but AJ tries to push me off, but Naomi makes the save by pulling her down off the apron and she hits her head on the ring apron. "Naomi with the save." JBL continues.
Rosa runs up and delivers a close line to Naomi but Cameron takers her down by delivering a close line of her own. Tamina is still down and I make it to the top rope and deliver The Sarah Splash onto Tamina and cover her. "1, 2 and 3."
My teammates meet me in the ring and we celebrate as my music comes on. "Here are your winners the team of Brie Bella, The Funkadactles and the Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces as the crowd cheers.
I grab my title and signal for a mike. "Hey AJ?" I call out as my music cuts. "Just two weeks, you and me at Money in the Bank." I add. "Try your hardest to take this away from me, deliver cheap shots, sneak attacks you name it, but at the end of the day I will come out the winner like always." I declare and raise my title above my head and send her a taunting kiss as my team mates celebrate with me.
Once the show is over, Brie, Nikki and I get back to the hotel to collect our belongings as we have to get to Boise, Idaho for our next show. We check out of the hotel and head to the car.
Once we are on the road the conversation starts. "How is your mum?" Nicole asks me.
"She's good; but busy, she's planning her wedding." I answer. "Did you catch up with your dad?"
"I did, I'm glad I did it."
"Good on you for taking that step."
"If your father was alive do you think you'd still be in Seattle?" Brie asks.
"I don't know, I think a lot of things would be different." I guess. "He would've never let Adam hurt me. And, I wouldn't have had to grow up so fast."
"What was your dad like?" Nikki asks.
"I got his personality, so that say's a lot." I joke and they laugh. "He was always strong, courageous, he loved his family, he also had a hard work ethic, and he did anything for me." I explain. I look through my bag and grab my wallet. I open it and pull out a photo. "Here." I say showing them the photo. "This was on my 14th birthday."
"He's handsome, but he also looks kind of scary." Nicole comments.
"He was scary, but he was a huge marshmallow too, but if anyone did anything to hurt me, you didn't want to get caught in the crossfire."
"This was your 14th birthday? Brie asks.
"Yes."
"You're already so pretty here, you must've had boys falling at your feet." Nicole jokes.
"Quite the opposite, my dad was a well-known guy, the boys were scared of him." I laugh.
Three hours into the drive we stop for some food and a toilet break. Back in the car the conversation continues. "How's John?" I ask Nicole.
"He's good, he's helping me a lot with my injury." She answers.
"Still sore?"
"A little."
"How's Brian?" I ask Brie.
"Good."
"How's Colby?" Nicole asks.
I give her a look. "Colby and I aren't a thing so I don't know why'd you ask that."
Day two and the drive is going smoothly. "I've got a question, what did you think of me when I first arrived?" I ask the twins.
They both look at me amused. "At first we thought you were a rookie, but when we heard your name and heard some of the stuff you did, we instantly respected you." Brie answers.
"We also had a look at some of the stuff you've done, and damn girl you've been in some narly matches." Nikki adds.
"I did anything to make it."
"You got powerslammed into thumb tax." Brie comments.
"That one hurt."
"If WWE ever did anything like that would you do it?" Nikki asks.
"In a heart beat, but I don't think WWE will ever do that."
"At the rate your going they just might." Brie disagrees.
"If I were to ever have a match like that, I'd need to be in it with someone that could take it." I advise.
"Anyone in NXT?"
"Do you know Saraya?"
"She wrestles as Paige right?" Nikki clarifies.
"Yes. I heard she's done similar stuff." I confirm. "If WWE ever did a match like that, it will all depend on the timing, the story line and if it made sense."
"What did you think of us when you met us?" Brie wonders.
"At first I thought you were bitchy, but you pulled me under your wing, and I kind of liked how you acted, you know who you were, you know how hard it is to get here and deep, deep down your lovely."
They both laugh. "You're mean." Nikki pouts.
"I'm the devil." I chuckle. "What about JoJo and Eva?"
"JoJo is sweet but still very young, but Eva is trouble, she wanted to be Brie's tag partner." Nicole informs me.
"She did not!"
They both nod. "She's been approaching Brie saying maybe they could be a tag team."
"I knew when I first met her she was trouble." I sigh. "She gets jealous and ever since I got called up she's been cold and always commenting on things to get under my skin." I continue. "But the things she's tried to do to get noticed has been ridiculous, I'm surprised she's still here."
"WWE must want her for something." Brie mutters.
"When did she ask to be your team mate?" I ask.
"Right after Nikki got injured."
"You said get fucked right?"
Brie laughs loudly. "Not in those particular words."
We arrive in Boise that afternoon and it looks like we are some of the first to check in. "Want to head to the gym?" Brie asks.
I nod. "Yes."
"I'm staying in." Nicole alerts.
"Okay, want anything while we are out?"
"Maybe an ice tea on the way home?"
"Consider it done." I smile and we head out. Arriving at the local gym we decide to take a boxing class. "I'm glad I've gotten to work with you." I say to Brie.
"Me too." She retorts. "You're truly an amazing person Serena. Your dad would be so proud of you."
I smile. "Thanks."
Monday comes around and we arrive at the arena. We put our stuff down and make our way to our weekly meeting. Once everyone arrives Mark addresses us. "Just two weeks until Money in the bank. Tonight Sarah will be in a match against Alicia Fox." He announces.
"Half way through the match, AJ is going to come out dressed like you and play mind games to distract you, this will allow Alicia to roll you up for the win." Jane explains.
"Cool." I express.
"Sarah will do the same think on Smackdown." Mark adds.
We are dismissed and walk back to the locker room. I retrieve some gear from my bag for April. "It might be a little big, so get Sandra to take it in for you." I suggest.
"I will." she responds. "I'm going to have so much fun playing you."
"Just do me justice."
"Oh you are going to die." April smirks.
Tonight for my look I've got my hair in curls and I am wearing wearing light blue wrestling gear that has a black outline and silver crystals scattered over the croptop and shorts.
Once I'm ready I grab a jacket and meet up with Brie, Nicole and Nattie in catering. As we are seated three figures approach from behind. "Hey boys." Nattie greets as they walk up to us.
I turn around and see Joe, Jon and Colby. "Hey." They greet.
I shovel down some chips and they laugh. "Don't be mean, I'm hungry." I pout.
"So lady like." Brie teases.
"You know it."
"How are you ladies doing?" Joe asks us.
"Great, we are ready for tonight's segment."
"What's happening?" Colby asks intrigued.
"You will have to tune in to find out." I say with a smirk and he pouts. "Don't pout, it wont get you anywhere."
As this is happening we don't notice the smirks being sent across the table. "Are you doing ok?" He asks me.
I smile. "Yeah."
"Slept?"
"Yeah." I lie.
"Colby." Leighla screeches appearing out of nowhere.
I squint my nose in disgust and Jon pinches my leg. "Ouch." I hiss.
"Don't be so obvious." He mumbles.
"I don't know what your talking about."
"Sure you don't."
"Hey everyone." Leighla greets us fakely.
"Hi." we all mumble.
"What are we talking about?"
"Just about the show." Colby answers.
"I better go find April." I say standing.
"Leaving so soon." Leighla asks grinning.
"Uh yeah, I have a job to do." I retort walking away not even bothering to turn back as Nikki and Brie follow me.
"You okay?" Brie asks.
"Super." I respond sarcastically.
I arrive at the gorilla and find Victoria stretching. "Hey girl." I greet.
"Hey, are you okay?" Tori asks.
"I'll be fine, I just saw Leighla."
"She has nothing on you." a familiar voice says from behind me.
I turn around and see April in a blonde wig and some of my gear. "Omg!" I shriek.
"Do I live up to your expectations?" she asks.
I laugh. "Yeah it's like looking in a mirror." I joke.
I hear Alicia being called and I am ready to go. My music starts and the crowd erupts as I walk out.
"And her opponent, from Seattle Washington, the Divas Champion, Sarah." Justin announces as I make my way down the ramp.
"Here comes the Divas Champion looking as beautiful as ever." Jerry compliments.
The referee asks us if we're ready and we both nod. He signals for the bell and Alicia and I circle one another and we lock up. She pushes me into the corner and starts choking me with her foot and the referee counts to four and she releases.
I use this as a distraction and I pounce on her and deliver several hard punches. "Here comes the champ." JBL says excitedly as I whip her into the ropes, and when she bounds back I deliver a close line. I cover "1,2" but she kicks out.
I go to get up my music plays and I sit up confused. "What's going on?" Cole asks confused. I look up the ramp and see someone walk out with blonde hair. I stand up. "It's AJ Lee, she's dressed as Sarah."
I stand up and walk to the ropes and scream at her. "What are you doing?" I yell out.
"It looks like AJ's mind games have started to affect Sarah." JBL notices.
AJ starts to walk down the ramp and as I take a couple steps backwards Alicia rolls me up and pins me "1, 2, and 3."
Alicia rolls out of the ring excitedly and the crowd boo as I sit up in anger. AJ continues to skip around the ring with a finger twirling her blonde wig. I send her an angry look and stand up watching her closely. She grabs a mike and walks backwards up the ramp. "Better watch yourself Sarah, that just might happen at Money In The Bank." AJ warns as she drops the mike and starts laughing hysterically.
