I walk out and the crowd erupts. I stand at the top of the ramp and raise my title above my head. I make my way down the ramp and jump up on the apron. I blow a kiss to the crowd and hop down. "This Divas Championship match is set for one fall. Introducing first the challenger, from Scottsdale Arizona, Brie Bella." Lilian announces and Brie does her Bella booty twirl and the crowd cheers. "And her opponent, from Seattle Washington, she is the Divas Champion, Sarah." Lilian finishes and I raise my title above my head and the crowd gets louder.
I bring the title down and kiss it before handing it over to the referee. He takes it and raises it above his head. He hands the belt over and asks if we are ready and rings the bell.
Brie and I stare at each other and I extend my hand. She accepts and we shake hands. "A handshake from the two divas." Jerry announces.
Brie and I circle one another and lock up. She gets the upper hand and starts twisting my arm. I quickly reverse it and bring her arm behind her back. "Reversal by Sarah." JBL continues.
Brie elbows me in the gut and I hunch over as she runs the ropes. I see her coming and move out of the way. She runs the ropes again and I stick my elbow out and she rubs face first into it. I quickly deliver a standing drop kick as she's dazed. "Lovely drop kick by the champ." Jerry praises. I quickly cover her "1." but she kicks out.
I pull her up and whip her into the corner. I run and squish her into the corner. I grab her arm and whip her into the opposite corner. I run at her again but she sticks her elbow out and it connects with my face. "An elbow to the face of the champion, that looked painful." Cole winces.
Brie jumps up onto the middle rope and jumps and lands of me. She covers. "1, 2." but I kick out. "Sarah kicks out." Jerry announces as I hold my face and crawl to the corner.
Brie uses this as an opportunity to kick me several times in the corner. She's counted for four and is forced away. "Some viscous kicks from Brie to Sarah. She is really trying to keep Sarah down." JBL mentions.
"If you keep Sarah weak it'll make things a lot easier." Cole advises.
I roll out of the ring and Brie follows me out. I regain my vision and as she goes grabs me, I knee her in the gut and deliver an elbow to her back and roll her back in the ring. "And just like that Sarah is back in it." Jerry adds watching along.
I follow Brie and wait for her to stand. She turns around and I scoop her up and deliver a spine buster. "Nasty Spine buster by the champ." JBL winces. I cover "1, 2." but Brie kicks out.
I sit up aggravated and stare at the referee. "Come on." I shout banging my hand on the mat. I stand up and pick her up and deliver a body slam. I hop up and run the ropes and deliver a leg drop.
Brie gets to her feet and I jump on her back wrapping my legs around her waist and lock in a sleeper hold. "Sarah with a painful sleeper hold." Cole announces.
"And it looks like Brie is fading." JBL says as Brie drops to her knee. The crowd begins to cheer her on and she starts to fight back. "But it looks like the crowd wants her to last a little longer."
Brie begins to pry my arm from around her neck. She stumbles and looks around she runs backwards and I hit the corner back first. She stands back a little and charges at me and squishes me into the corner. I stumble and she grabs my head and delivers a running bull dog. She covers "1, 2." and I kick out.
She pulls me up and I push her into the ropes. I duck but she kicks me in the face which makes my vision blur. She runs the ropes and delivers a close line. "A close line by Brie to the champ. Brie is doing extremely well tonight." Jerry expresses.
"She is." Cole agrees.
I use the ropes to stand and Brie runs at me, but I use my speed and lift Brie up over the top rope and toss her out of the ring. "Oh." the crowd shouts. "Brie just got tossed out of the ring!" Jerry shouts. "Did you see how high she went?"
I take a moment to catch my breath and roll out of the ring. I go to grab her but she kicks me in the stomach and whips me into the barricade. "Ooh." the crowd shout again.
Brie then slaps me in face. "Come on Sarah, show me how tough you are." She taunts.
This makes me lose my cool and I launch myself at her and start unloading punches on the floor outside of the ring. "Sarah has completely flipped a switch, she's attacking Brie like no tomorrow." Cole shouts.
I pull her up roughly. "Is this what you wanted?" I taunt and whip her into the barricade. "Ooh." the crowd echos as the referee is at seven count.
I roll her back in the ring and look to the corner. The crowd sees my motion and cheers as I start to climb. "It looks like Sarah wants some height." Jerry notices.
I get to the top turnbuckle and hear a commotion from behind me. I turn my head and see a figure in a black hoody jump the barricade and run into the ring. I gasp as I see the figures face. It's Adam! He jumps up on the apron and pushes me off the top rope and I fall landing on my neck and shoulder on the floor. "Omg." the commentators say in unison.
Security captures the figure and Brie is left astounded. I am motionless and the pain is starting to appear in my neck and shoulder. Brie rolls out of the ring and checks on me. "Serena can you hear me?" She asks concerned. "If you hear me squeeze my hand."
I lightly squeeze her hand, not even more than a pinch. "She's barely there she needs help." the referee shouts and calls for an ambulance as I feel my self fading.
I fight through it and my eyes flash open and I'm shocked. Brie and the referees notice. "Stay calm Serena, help is on the way." She urges.
Paul and Stephanie run out and are crowding over me as the crowd remain in silence. "Stay with us." Stephanie shouts as medics put a neck brace on me.
"My neck and shoulder, it's starting to hurt." I whisper.
"That's good you have feeling." She sighs. She grabs my hand before I start to lose my vision. "It's going to be okay."
Brie POV
Serena passes out and the medics tend to her. "Is she breathing?" I ask crying.
"She's is, but we have to get her out of here as quickly and smoothly as we can." a doctor orders.
"What do you need me to do?"
"Someone needs to inform her mother what's going on, and the show has to go on, but someone needs to go with her." Paul responds.
"I'll go." Stephanie offers.
"You don't need me to?" I ask.
Stephanie shakes her head. "She's going to be scared and confused when she wakes up and I want to be there." Stephanie expresses. "Can you find her family and tell her we are taking her to the hospital and that we'll inform them what is going on." Stephanie asks and I nod as the ambulance arrives and the paramedics roll Serena into the back. Stephanie climbs in after her and the doors shut and the ambulance speeds off.
Colby POV
I sit in the locker room watching the divas match. "Serena looks focused." Jon observes.
"That she does." Joe agrees. "Brie too. She's working just as stiff."
"Do you think we did the right thing?" I ask out of the blue.
"Yes it needed to be done." Jon answers.
"Do you think she'll forgive me?"
"In a heartbeat." they both respond.
We turn back to watch the match and as Serena is climbing the corner, a figure jumps the barricade, jumps up onto the ring apron and before she can even move, the person pushes her off the top turnbuckle and she lands on her neck and shoulder and is motionless. "OMG!" we all shout.
"What just happened?" I bellow. "Did that guy just push her?"
"She looks hurt." Jon notices as the referee stops the match.
"She's not moving." Joe notices.
"What the hell did we just see?" I ask again.
"I don't know." Jon answers as we watch paramedics put Serena on a stretcher and roll her out.
"We have to see if she's okay."
"We can't just leave man, we have a match."
"Did you not just see what I saw?"
"I did, but there is nothing we can do right now." Jon replies. "We have our match and once we are done, we can go to the hospital."
"Is she going to be okay?" I ask.
"We'll find out soon." Joe promises.
Serena POV
I wake up to bright lights above me and I'm in serious pain. My eyes flutter as they adjust to the bright light. I try to move but I can't. I slowly move my hands to my neck and feel a foam neck brace around my neck. Shit this is bad. I hear beeping coming from my left and feel a drip in my left arm.
I hear footsteps and my mum walks in. "Omg your awake." She cries. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm in a lot of pain." I wince trying to stay calm.
"I'll get the doctor." She says running off.
Moments later a man in his late 30s walks in. "Hi Serena, I'm Doctor White." he introduces himself. "I'm glad your awake, but from the looks of things you are in bad shape." He admits. "We're going to take you to get some X-rays and MRIs, but before that I just want to ask you some questions." he informs me. "What is your full name?"
"Serena Elizabeth Smith." I answer.
"Date of birth?"
"March 20th."
"You're currently a professional wrestler?"
"Yes."
"What is the last thing you remember?"
"I remember falling and I felt numb in my neck, but then I felt pain shortly after and I blacked out." I relay. "How bad is it?"
"We won't know the full extent of your injuries until we do some more tests, but your in a bad way Miss Smith." he answers honestly. "That's all I needed to know, we'll give you some more pain relief, that will help wth the pain, but I'm warning you, you might start to feel a little out of it as they are high doses" He explains. "Just hit this button if you need anything."
"Thank you," I whisper.
"Would you like some visitors?"
"Yes." I answer.
Minutes later Stephanie walks in. "Hi." she greets.
"Hi." I whisper.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm in pain but the pain killers are kicking in."
"You scared everyone."
"I'm scared."
"Don't be, you'll come back whenever that is."
"That's if I can move again."
"Don't think the worst, you won't know until you get you're results back."
"It was Adam."
"We got him."
I smile. "I couldn't believe it. It happened so fast, all I could see was his eyes and then I was falling."
"We know, but just know that it's over. He can never hurt you again." She assures. "However, there are some other things we need to discuss."
"What?"
"Brie told me about the drugs." She addresses.
I gulp and start to cry. "I'm so, so, sorry." I apologise. "I just needed to forget and I wasn't thinking." I explain. "I thought it would take the pain away but it only caused more damage. I know what I did was wrong but I just didn't want to feel."
"I understand that but the way you went about it was the wrong way." She responds. "We love you here and we want to help you. Why didn't you come to me?"
"I felt so alone." I confess.
"We all have those moments but you're never alone. We are always here, the only thing that you were doing wrong, was what you were doing to yourself." She replies. "Now I'm not here to yell, I'm just here to tell you that it could have been worse."
"I know."
"That's the end of it for now, we will discuss that further when you are out of hospital and heeling, but right now you need to focus on your recovery."
"I will."
"We are going to have to do a press release about this." she mentions.
"Okay."
"Now get some rest."
"Thanks Stephanie and I promise I'll heal and come back better than ever."
"I wouldn't count for anything less." she smiles.
A little while later the nurse comes in and wheels me up to get my scans. It takes a while but my results are finally back. I have a broken neck and a dislocated shoulder.
The doctors slowly go through the process of what they need to do to fix it. I'll have to have a couple surgeries over the next couple months on my neck and shoulder.
Once I'm finished at the hospital here, i will be meeting with a sports surgeon down in Atlanta who is one of the best in his field. I'll also be doing my rehab down there too. So it looks like I'll be moving to Atlanta for the next 6-7 months.
