I hear a knock at my door and I open it and find Phoebe standing in my doorway. "Hayley Marshel no way." I joke.
"Dammit not another crazy fan." She retorts.
"Come in."
"I brought you a little something." She says stepping inside. "Here." She offers opening a bag and pulls out four DVDs and hands them over to me.
I flip them over and let out a laugh. "The Vampire Diaries, season 1 to 4, why you shouldn't have."
"I figured you'd be bored, so I brought you these to fill in the time."
"Thank you." I thank.
"How's the recovery going?"
"I went to my surgeon today and everything is going well. I'm on the right track."
"That's good; does that mean you can amp up your physio?"
"Yep."
"I'm happy for you."
"How's filming?" I ask.
"Good but long."
"I'm just about to head out to get some fresh air, want to join me?"
"Why not, I have some time."
We arrive at the rec room and I grab some fruit. "So what have you been doing since we met?"
"Therapy, physio on my neck, sleeping, nothing to extreme."
"Sounds troubled." Phoebe jokes.
"I'm dying."
"You'll survive. Have you had many visitors?"
"My mum has visited a few times, my work colleagues have visited, my bosses."
"Are you aloud out of this place?"
"Don't know never tried."
"Maybe one day I can break you out of here and get you back into civilisation for a bit."
"To explore Hotlanta? Sign me up!"
"You know you're different from anyone that I've ever met, you're very honest and you say what you think. Has that ever bit you in the butt?"
"Couple times."
"So you're a rebel?"
"Sort of, I just had to grow up fast."
"Why?"
"It's a long story, but my dad died when I was 14, and my mother turned to alcohol and drugs, so I had to look after her."
"I'm so sorry."
I smile shyly. "At 16 I moved out of home, got a full time job, and at 18, moved out to Tampa and worked on my dream."
"Sounds bad."
"It was. I have a lot of issues, and that's one of the many reasons why I'm here."
"You should be proud of yourself, having to grow up so quick." She praises. "You're allowed to make mistakes, as you learn from them."
"That's what my boss said."
"So you're pretty close with Hunter and Steph?"
"We're a big family, it's a tight nit place."
"Sounds like a good place to work."
"The best place."
Three weeks go by and I feel good. Today I have a session with Doug who is a specialist in neck and upper body injuries. He starts by massaging my neck and shoulder. Once I'm loosened up, he gets me to sit up against a wall on a chair and gets me to raise my arm vertically until I have pain, which I can move about 30 degrees, then bring it back down. I do that five more times. We then finish off with some hot and cold therapy to help with the injured areas.
I make my way back to my room and see my door is slightly open. I step inside and it's my girlfriends. "Omg." I squeal.
They quickly turn around and hug me gently. "Omg, how are you?" The ask.
"I'm good, I just got back from physio." I answer.
"How is everything going?" Anna asks. "We haven't heard from you since you arrived and we needed to see how you are doing."
"I'm glad you're here."
"So tell us everything that's happened, why did that guy push you off the ring post?" Lisa asks.
I sigh. "Do you remember me telling you about my life before I moved to Tampa and how I told you I lost my virginity?"
"His name was Adam right?" Angela questions.
"Yes." I confirm. "When I had my breakdown I let slip the truth about what actually happened and now I'm getting the help I need."
"What happened?" Anna asks concerned.
"He raped me." I confess.
"OMG why didn't you say anything?" Lisa asks with tears.
"Because no one would have believed me." I explain. "I was homeless, I had no parents, and it would have been my word against his and I was drunk."
"You still could have told us, why did you think telling everyone you lost your virginity that way was the better alternative?" Anna asks.
"Because I didn't want people feeling sorry for me, I didn't want to feel useless and broken so I decided to forget it ever happened."
"So this Adam guy was your stalker?" Angela asks.
"Yes, at first we thought it was a fan, but the the gifts kept coming and they got more freaky. He had photos of me on the street, in the ring, out of the ring, he was stalking me." I explain. "We caught footage of him leaving a package at one of my hotel rooms. I didn't recognise him at first, but when the police identified him, all those horrible memories I had buried came flooding back." I relay. "It finally made sense, he still wanted to have power over me."
"We're so sorry Serena." They apologise.
"You don't have to apologise, but I think the most scary thing about it, was that he got dangerous and he tried to kill me."
"What when?" Anna shrieks.
"It was right after Raw in my hometown. Nicole, Brie and I got into our car and I smelt something, it was gas, we got out of the car just in time, it exploded behind us."
"Shit, were you hurt?"
"Just shocked, I got admitted to hospital for exhaustion." I respond.
"Have you heard anything about if he is staying in jail?" Eliza asks.
"All my lawyer has said is that he's locked up and not getting out anytime soon." I answer. "And to be honest I don't want to hear anything, only if he is being released or if there is a trial, but it's not going to trial."
"We're glad you're better, and you're getting the help you need. Brie told us about the drugs." Anna whispers. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was miserable. I felt alone and I didn't know what to do, but I realise now, that what I was doing was wrong, and I'm getting the help I need."
"We're glad you are, we want you back healthy." Angela responds.
"Alright enough doom and gloom want to know who I met?" I ask them. They nod. "Phoebe Tonkin from The Originals."
"Get out your lying." Anna shrieks.
"I'm not, I met her here."
Anna sits up eagerly. "When, where, how, what's she like?"
"Calm down crazy." I joke and she glares at me playfully. "I was outside getting some vitamin D when we met. I didn't recognise her at first, but when she got closer it clicked, and we bonded over recognising who we were and fell into easy conversation." I explain. "She's visited a couple times."
"Have you met anyone else?"
"No but I was hopping to eventually meet her friends. I have a huge crush on Joseph Morgan."
"I'm more of a Ian fan." Anna comments.
We all laugh. "But all in all everything is going well."
"So have you heard anything from WWE." Eliza wonders.
"Stephanie and Paul came to see me a few weeks ago; they have been really helpful with everything." I respond.
"How's your mum?" Lisa asks.
"She's doing well. She's coming down in a couple weeks but she's got a lot to do for her wedding."
"Are you glad she's back in your life?" Anna asks.
"Very glad."
As I go to bed that night and I hear my phone buzz. A message appears and it's from Phoebe: Serena tomorrow night I'm breaking you out of confinement. I rang the rehab and they gave me permission as long as you don't do anything vigorous. So I'll pick you up around 8 tomorrow night.
I'll accept the offer. I'm warning you though, I haven't been out of in the real world in months, so I'm going to be a kid on Christmas morning. I warn.
I'm glad you've warned me beforehand, we wouldn't want any psychos attacking us would we?
No, I've had one to many stalkers to last a lifetime. I'll see you tomorrow!
