chapter twenty-eight: wedding part 1

The front door swings open and my jaw immediately drops. Adorned in a royal blue midi dress, Tatum is dressed to the nines. And she is completely flawless. Her face is done up with natural make-up, giving her an extra glow on her cheeks. A smile spreads on her face as she watches me take in her appearance.
"You look really handsome, Seth." Tatum compliments as she steps out onto the porch and smooths my lapels of my suit jacket. I smile down at my girlfriend and press a kiss to her lips.
Once we pull away from the kiss, my hands run over her sides, feeling the silky material of her dress. "You are so beautiful." I whisper before kissing her again. "The most beautiful woman I have ever seen." I say in awe.
Tatum crashes her lips into mine again, making this kiss a little more passionate. We both begrudgingly pull away. "We should probably go." Tatum says, staring into my eyes deeply. The look in her eyes is telling me all I need to know. She desires more just like me. "We can't show up late."
I nod my head and watch as she locks up the door. I guide her to my truck with my hand on the small of her back. I help her into the passenger seat, not wanting her to fall in those death trap heels. Once we are both settled in the car, we take off towards the wedding venue. The drive to the wedding venue is relatively quiet. I let my burning desire simmer as my brain keeps our last kiss on replay. I force myself to snap out of it when I put the car in park.
When we arrive and enter the wedding venue, which is a small building on a cliff that overlooks the water, we are greeted by many of my pack mates. Tatum is swept away immediately by Ness and Vanessa, much to my dismay. "Is Brady sweating it?" I hear Jake joke with Colin.
"He's really calm, actually. He said he is the most sure about this then he has been about anything else." Colin says with a shrug. I understand what he means. If I had the privilege of marrying Tatum, I know I would be so sure about marrying her. Waking up to that beautiful face. Kissing those lips goodnight. Sharing so many memories and special moments together. I wanted that.
But there is one thing that stands in the way.
I need to tell Tatum my secret. I need to tell her about me being a wolf. It has been far too long. I have already dug myself a huge grave by waiting this long. But I was terrified to tell her. I needed her to understand. I needed her to forgive me for waiting to tell her this secret. Because she is probably the one thing I needed most.
But tonight is the night I am going to tell her.
She had the right to know.
"We better find our seats." Tatum interrupts my deep thoughts, grabbing my hand in the process. "I think the ceremony is going to start in a few minutes."
I give her hand a squeeze before I follow her lead. Tatum leads up to two seats next to Jake and Nessie.
The wedding ceremony is simple. There is no bridal party or groomsmen. Just Brady and Laura. Brady, of course, tears up when Laura begins walking down the aisle. He is definitely going to get shit about it on patrol.
But as the ceremony continues and the officiant begins talking about Laura and Brady's love, my mind wanders. I think about telling Tatum. I think about the countless reactions I could receive. She could be so chill like Kim was when Jared had told her. Or she could freak out like when Paul told Rachel. Or she could faint… I really, really hope that doesn't happen.
But in the end, Tatum would know the truth.
I still don't know if I'm ready for that yet.
"This is so beautiful." Tatum whispers with her eyes trained on Brady and Laura exchanging vows. Her close position leads me to clutch her hand a little tighter.
The ceremony wraps up with the officiant announcing that Brady can now kiss the bride. The small crowd begins to hoot and holler as Brady and Laura kiss to seal their new marriage.
Two things became official at that moment. One, Brady and Laura are a married couple. And two, Tatum is finding out my secret tonight. Tonight is the night things are changing. I'm hoping for the better.
I need this to be the night things change in a positive direction.
