Alrighty ladies and gentlemen I am putting the actual story on pause to do the annual Christmas special I do for one of my books. And this year it is this one.
It was Christmas time at the Witt household and everyone was gathered around the tree. Even Elon's girlfriend Katie who they barely know.
"Ricky be patient. Mom will be back any second with the camera cool your jets. Christ, I don't know how you actually made it through IMC training.", Rodger chided his twin with a playful smack on the back.
"Nah. You are just jealous I got a higher rank than yo' short ass.", Ricky retorted at his twin and hot up to square up.
"Will you both shut up I out rank you both. God you two need to go get a significant other than just each other.", Elon sighed out and annoyed at their stupidity. Elliott who had just walked into the room with Renee on his tail cackled.
"Damn he got you two good.", Elliott snickered and sat on a empty sofa with Renee accompanying him.
"Shut up at least I had a girlfriend and lost my virginity. You are going to be like Steve Carrel in that one movie.", both Rodger and Ricky shot back simultaneously.
Elliott doing his best feigned pain expression threw his right hand on his face and sank into the sofa.
"Oh, woe is me. I have been destroyed by two desk jockeys of the IMC military.", Elliott exclaimed and made Renee chuckle a little bit.
"Elliott Rodger Witt you stop that this instant or you won't open any gifts.", Evelyn told him as she entered the room only hearing that.
"But Ma it wasn't just me I swear we are just teasing each other.", Elliott complained, and Renee gave an earnest nod to Evelyn to inform her he was speaking the truth.
"Alright, anyways kids who wants to go first?", Evelyn asked excitedly and saw Elliott point at Renee.
"Ladies first you two should go first.", Elliott answered with a smile.
"Aww... you are just my little gentleman.", Evelyn cooed while pinching his cheeks.
"Ma... c'mon not in front of Renee... this is embarrassing.", Elliott begged while swiping at her hands with a hue of embarrassment painted across his face.
Renee simply grinned and watched the whole situation unfold in front of her.
"Anyways here is your gift mom.", Elliott mentioned as he pulled a phone sized box from behind him.
Evelyn then opened the box to see I-Holo 12 and a pair of air pods to go with it.
(I-Holo is an iPhone that can use holotech to display things such blueprints and bodies.)
"I know your old I-Holo was breaking down, so I got you this. It will allow you to actually add your own holotech to it and the blueprint feature actually allows you to make 3D models with some the use of augmented reality.", Elliott explained as he passed her a pair of AR glasses so she could see what he meant.
"Elliott how much did this cost?!", Evelyn asked concerned at her son's expensive antics.
"Around thirteen hundred credits including the AirPods. I had to do some double shifts over summer to cover for my gifts this year.", Elliott answered much to the grief his mom was displaying.
Evelyn was going to lecture him about how financially stupid his gift was, instead she just hugged him for giving her a gift of this caliber and for working double shifts just to get it.
"Thanks Inch worm.", Evelyn commented as Elliott deepened the hug.
Elon and the other brothers then got pull in a large box from outside the front door.
"Anyways mom this what me and the other lads got for ya.", Elon told her as they pulled out a large box with an IMC insignia on the top.
"Ok what did you guys get for me?", Evelyn asked in bewilderment.
"Ricky, would you do the honors since this was your idea.", Richard requested his twin as he passed him a crow bar.
"Don't have to tell me twice.", Ricky stated as he ran up to the box and started to pull the box apart.
What was inside was a revolving engineer table. One side was for holograms and blueprints. And the other side was solid platinum with an entire welding set. And then there was the was the drafting set with an engineering compass and pencil inside the inner drawer.
"Boys! How much did this cost y'all?", Evelyn asked in exasperation.
"Ten thousand credits. And we technically got a discount on that thing since we are in the military.", Elon answered while rubbing his neck nervously.
"Why did you boys waste that much on me?", Evelyn commented and kept a shocked look on her face.
"Well, we are going to be redeployed soon. And Elliott is going back to school so we thought we could give you something to do when we were gone. And we knew you love working from home, so we took the initiative. Hell, even if we didn't get that discount.", Richard told her with a smile and gave her a hug.
However, Renee noticed that Elliott was a little annoyed.
"What's up Eli?", Renee asked her friend who only shook his head at her.
"I feel like I have been showed up.", Elliott responded with a sigh and a chuckle.
Renee jabbed him in the chest playfully and just shook her head in a disapproving look.
"This isn't a competition for your mothers love is it?", Renee questioned with a slight grin.
"Of course it is! I am the favorite after all.", Elliott declared proudly and was scoffed at by Elon.
"Her favorite dumbass maybe.", Elon remarked and made Katie and his mom laugh.
"Not you too Ma.", Elliott feigned a look of betrayal.
"Oh, c'mon Eli you know I don't have favorites.", Evelyn told Elliott much to his own disapproval.
Elliott soon dropped his look and replaced it with a grin. He went to his room and grabbed his gifts he had for Renee. He had three gifts nicely wrapped with a bow on each one.
"Here you should open these two first.", Elliott told her with a smile.
Renee just nodded in response and made her way through the wrapping. There was a black hoodie with a quote that said, "My personality could cut through steel" - Lord of Edge.
Renee snorted at the subtle diss to her and smacked Eli on the shoulder.
Then she unwrapped the second gift. It was a purple woven scarf with little thrills on the end. Renee soon took of the black scarf she normally would wear and wrapped the new one on.
"Oh my god this is just perfect! It wraps so nicely, and it is breathable. And better yet it is extremely cozy.", Renee admitted aloud on accident.
Renee soon went quite with a blush.
"I thought you would like it. I asked Gigi (his grandma) while she was in town to help me make a scarf for you.", Elliott told her with a wide smile on his face caused by this sudden sound of gratitude.
Renee soon reached the last present. She noticed a hilt like shape to it and unwrapped it from the hilt part.
When she fully unwrapped it her face only displayed shock. It was the knife she would always glance at the mall and would always tell herself she would buy it one day. The ionized Kunai with electrical sparks that would always come out the end. But she was never able to get it due to her age. And she didn't want to ask Mrs. Wi- Evelyn for it so she didn't sound weird. And then there was the sheath. It was a smooth black leather one with a built-in sharpener and was custom made. With a purple tint on the clasp.
"El-liot how di-d you get this?", Renee inquired with a slight stammer as she pulled up her scarf.
"I noticed whenever we went shopping with Nat you would always stare at this whenever we went to the mall. So, I had Elon buy it for me since I was too young and since I knew you were to proud to ask my mom for it. And for this the sheath I paid Anita to make it for me. She apparently has a similar fascination with knifes and she has a hobby of producing knifes and sheaths. But her sheath craftsman ship was above the rest. So, I had that done for you. Did you like it?", Elliott ranted as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Renee soon dropped her knife and pulled Elliott into a hug. She almost knocked him over with the amount of force she put into giving this hug.
"Like it? No, I love it. Thank you, Eli!", Renee reassured him and tighten the hug.
"Well, that is great I thought you would like it.", Elliott said to her with his heart speeding up a couple of notches.
Renee soon ran to her room and grabbed Elliott's gift.
"Here I hope you like it. I had to get Ramya to help me on this one.", Renee commented annoyed like and made a face of scrutiny.
Elliott then ripped apart the wrapping paper and pulled out a customized wingman. It had an eight-round cylinder with a quote engraved on it. "You met my big brother... now meet my big iron."- Elliott Witt.
Elliott was at a loss of words. He didn't even tell her he wanted one of these things. No one even knew except for Elon.
*flash back*
Renee's Room
"Shit what do I get for him.", Renee thought to herself aimlessly as she buried herself into her bed.
There was then a knock on her door.
"Come in.", Renee said and allowed whoever was outside to come in.
"Hey what's up Renee?", Elon asked as he lean against the door.
"Nothing much just thinking.", Renee responded with a blank look.
"Trying to figure out what to get for Eli?", Elon guessed and a got a surprised nod from the vertically challenged girl.
"I would suggest getting him a wingman pistol. He was asking me for one of those for years.", Elon suggested and got a confused look from Renee.
"Why are you telling me this and not getting it for him yourself?", Renee questioned.
"Oh, I know what your intentions are with my brother, and I approve. He would be lucky to have a girl like you date him.", Elon nonchalantly commented and took a bite of an apple. He then left the girl who was flushed to herself and went back to the kitchen.
*flash back end*
"Thanks Elon.", Renee mouthed and got a thumbs up in return.
"I uh... shit. Thank you, Ren this means a lot. I have been wanting one of these since I used Elon's in the firing range as a kid.", Elliott replied with a genuine smile admiring the craftsmanship that as clearly done by Ramya. Except for the quote. Which was a cheesy quote of his whenever he would play air-soft with his buddies. She really went all out for him.
But he was even more impressed by the fact that Renee actually asked for Ramya to do this for her. That must have been painful for her.
Renee just gave him that once in a blue moon smile that would make him feel good in all the right places.
The Christmas unwrapping finished up with the twins getting the new Xbox and Katie being proposed to by Elon. Which she gladly accepted.
