It's Monday night Raw and tonight there's a battle royal. I arrive at the arena with Nikki. "Do you know the outcome of the match tonight?" I ask her.
"Yes and I don't know what to think about it. Saraya is talented but so soon." She says hesitantly.
"It may be soon, but look what happened to me. It might not be fair as she has just debuted and she's still NXT champion, but I think she'll surprise us. She's another competitor for all of us."
"You're always so positive."
"I have to be. I'm sad that I don't get to verse one of you girls, but it's my job and I want to put on a great match and we won't know until she proves herself."
"You're right"
"Now come on let's go put our stuff down." I suggest.
We head to our weekly meeting and take a seat. "Tonight is the battle royal for the number 1 contender." Jane addresses us.
"You all know that Paige will be winning and versing Sarah at Extreme Rules." Mark continues. "You know your spots, so go out there and put on a good match."
"For the rest of the week we have Naomi and Tamina on Mainevent, and on Smackdown Sarah V Layla."
Nikki, Nattie and I walk back to the locker room. "Are you pumped for tonight?" I ask Nattie.
"Yes, but I'm a little bummed that creative want Saraya in the title picture so soon." She confesses.
"I'm going to tell you what I told Nikki, don't think of it as a bad thing, think of it as another competitor we get to work with." I advise. "Yes it sucks that she gets a title shot when she's just debuted, but maybe she'll prove to you and everyone else that she wants to be here just like the rest of us."
"Wow, your deep." She jokes.
"Just stating facts. If it helps, I wanted it to be one of you, but I do what management wants, just like you do, so don't let this stop you."
"We wont." Nikki responds.
"Good."
"I'm glad your back." Nattie says hugging me.
"As am I, so get used to seeing this face because I am back better than ever."
"Someone is cocky."
"Stating facts here." I joke.
I quickly get ready for the show. Tonight I'm wearing a velvet pink jumpsuit with tan heels. My hair is in curls and for my make-up I have a shimmery smokey eye. I grab my title and take a look at the overall look. I look great!
I make my way out of the divas locker room and towards catering. I see some familiar faces and smile. "Hey guys." I greet Jon, Joe and Colby.
"Hey." they greet.
"You look better than the other morning." Jon teases.
"Shut up." I grumble.
"How are you feeling?" Colby asks.
"Fine, it was a fun night."
"It was."
"How's the neck?" Joe asks.
"It's good."
"It's great to see you back baby girl."
"It's good to be back. I'm looking forward to what comes next."
"We'll be watching." Colby replies.
I smile. "You better, I need my favourite guys by my side."
I'm given the call to make my way to the gorilla. I arrive and all the ladies that are in the battle royal are waiting. They head out during the commercial break and once the show is back on my music blasts and I walk out.
I walk out to a huge pop from the crowd and stand at the top of the ramp and raise my title above my head. "Here comes the Divas Champion, doesn't she look beautiful." King expresses.
"She looks better then ever, and remember she was out of action for nearly a year with a broken neck and dislocated shoulder, it's great to have her back." Cole reminds everyone.
I walk around the ring towards commentary. "And our night just got a whole lot better, Sarah will be joining us on commentary." JBL announces excitedly.
I make my way over to Jerry, JBL and Cole. "Welcome Sarah." They greet.
"Thanks for having me, I love coming out here and talking to you gentleman." I respond.
"Do you have anyone that you would like to verse at Extreme Rules?" Cole asks.
"There are multiple, there's Nikki Bella who's improved greatly since coming back from her own injury. There's Natalya who's always a great opponent, Naomi she's one to watch, but there's also the NXT Champion Paige, who beat AJ in a shocking match last week, it's anyone's chance, whoever my opponent is, they better be prepared for the match of their careers."
"How are you feeling?" Jerry asks.
"I'm feel amazing. I'm stronger, quicker, fitter, I'm better than ever." I assure.
The match begins and my focus goes to the ring. Rosa gets eliminated first by Naomi. "Rosa-Mendez has been eliminated." Cole announces.
Everyone starts fighting someone. Tamina whips Cameron into the ropes and kicks her in the stomach which causes Cameron to fall through the middle rope and crash to the floor. "What an elimination by Tamina." JBL expresses.
"Her big boot hurts." I mention as the action peers to Layla and Emma. Layla collapses into the corner and Emma starts up her dance and runs and squishes Layla in the corner with the Emmamite sandwich. Layla slowly gets to her feet and Emma goes through the ropes and locks in the Dilemma. She releases Layla who recovers and delivers a roundhouse kick to her skull which causes Emma to collapse to the floor getting eliminated. "You have to learn in these matches to not stand on the outside of the apron, that was a rookie error."
"That was." JBL agrees.
The action turns to Natalya and Nikki and it's back and forth. Nikki goes for a close line but Natalya ducks and runs the ropes and delivers a close line of her own. Naomi and Paige are going at it when Paige takes down Naomi with a massive kick. "Ouch." I wince.
The match continues until the final four are left. Nikki, Natalya, Tamina and Paige. "There are four divas remaining and this Battle Royale has been a great so far." Cole expresses.
"It has." JBL agrees. "Are you surprised these are the final four remaining Sarah?"
"Not at all." I say as Nattie and Nicole go at it and Nikki delivers a massive close line sending Nattie over the top rope and is eliminated. "Omg."
"That was a massive elimination by Nikki Bella." Jerry exclaims.
"She's tough and sometimes people don't know how tough." I comment.
As Nikki turns around she walks straight into a big boot by Tamina. "Ooh." the crowd wince. "She might have knocked her tooth out again." JBL shouts as the impact makes Nikki go through the middle rope and gets eliminated.
Suddenly Paige comes up behind Tamina and pushes her through the ropes eliminating her. The bell rings and Paige cheers in excitement. "Here is your winner and the number one contender, Paige." Justin announces.
I slowly stand up from my seat and Paige turn to face me. I ask for a mike and make my way into the ring. "It looks like Sarah has something to say." Jerry notices.
Paige's music dies. "Congratulations Paige. You did it. You're the number 1 contender for my title." I congratulate and the crowd cheers. "Last week, when you beat AJ you earned my respect. So now, you have a decision to make, you can go back to NXT where you are the top bitch or you can relinquish your title and have a go in the big leagues, because come Extreme rules there can only be one champion in our locker room, and I know you'll make the right decision."
After Raw is over we get in the car and travel to the next town for Mainevent and Smackdown. "How do you like being on the road so far?" I ask Saraya.
"It's definitely different to NXT, but it's fun seeing the different towns and cities." She replies.
"You miss home?"
"All the time." She responds. "How are you feeling about everything that happened last year?"
"I'm good, I'm in a really good place." I reply. "I dug myself into a deep hole, but I had a great support system that got me through it and now I'm back and I just want to enjoy this."
"Good for you Serena."
The next day I arrive at the arena for Smackdown. I make my way to the locker room and as I'm walking I bump into a large body. I look up and it's Dave Batista. "I'm so sorry." I apologise a little starstruck.
"No worries, I'm Dave." He introduces.
"Welcome back, I'm Serena."
"You too, I heard you were injured."
"I was, but I'm back better than ever."
"Keep up the good work, with the little time that you've been here, you've already made a huge impact, well done champ."
"Thanks." I thank.
After meeting Dave it's time for me to get ready. I put on my gear; which is matching blue, silver and white shorts and crop top.
I make my way to gorilla and my match is next. I meet up with Layla who is about to head out. I place my title on my shoulder and my music starts. The crowd erupts and I walk out.
I walk out and the crowd are on their feet. "And her opponent, from Seattle Washington, she is the Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces as I stand at the top of the ramp.
I raise my title above my head and walk down the ramp. I get to the ring and blow a kiss to the crowd. I set my title down in the corner and the referee asks if we are ready. "Divas action starting right now, with the Divas Champion Sarah vs Layla." Cole announces. "This should be a great match."
"It should be, they both have some power moves, let's see what's in store for us." JBL agrees.
We lock up and I over power her and put her in a head lock. "Head lock by Sarah." Cole announces.
Layla escapes and reverses it and twists my arm. "Reversal by Layla." JBL adds. I forward roll and reverse it again pulling her arm tighter. "But the champ reverses it just as quick."
She makes it to the ropes and I'm forced to release. I run at her but Layla elbows me in the face and she delivers a huge close line. "A huge close line to the camp." Cole exclaims. Layla covers me "1." but I kick out. "And Sarah kicks out."
I escape and roll out of the ring. Layla laughs and follows after me. I regain my strength and as she's about to punch me, I block it and punch her hard in the face. I wind her up and whip her into the barricade. "Ooh." the crowd cheers.
"We seem to forget that the champ has a vicious side." Cole comments.
"True. You forget behind that appearance is a very tough woman." JBL agrees.
I pull her up and roll her back in the ring. "But it sounds like the crowd love it."
I crawl back into the ring and grab Layla and deliver a neck breaker. I cover "1, 2," but she kicks out. I sit up and put her into a head lock. She starts to fade but fights back by elbowing me in the stomach. As I turn around she close lines me again. She covers me "1, 2." but I kick out. "And Sarah kicks out." JBL says loudly.
Layla looks at the referee in shock. "It was two." he says showing her two fingers.
I regain my strength and lean on the ropes for support. Layla runs at me but I side step and as she turns around I deliver a kick to her stomach, run the ropes and deliver a swinging neck breaker. I flip her over onto her stomach and I put her into The Saraniser. "And the champ has The Saraniser locked in." Cole announces.
Layla screams in pain as I add some more pressure and I feel her hand start to tap. The referee asks me to release and I let go as my music plays. "Here is your winner, by submission, the Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces as the crowd cheers.
