I do not own Danny Phantom or Extreme Ghostbusters. Their individual companies own those. This is a sequel to Unclogged Graves.

Danny was phased through the streets of New York, stopping in a subway tunnel as he was thrown to the ground. He landed with a hard thud. The boy would testify such an impact could break his spine in human form. With glowing green eyes, he got up to face his foe.

"What are you doing here, Fright Knight?" Danny charged his fists. This time he wanted to shoot first and ask questions never, blasting away at the ghostly knight.

But the Fright Knight tanked the shots, seemingly unfazed by the attacks. That was never a good sign. This ghost was one of Danny's most potent enemies. Single combat against him, even with all of Danny's experience and training, was always in his favor.

"Greetings, ghost child." His deep voice, though low, filled the room with an ominous atmosphere. Seeing him on his mount, the bat-winged Pegasus, Nightmare, was like facing a giant. "You are probably wondering why I'm here—" Fright Knight dismounted. "—and the answer is simple. I've been ordered to fight you. Whether or not you survive is your choice."

The knight drew his horrid blade, the Soul Shredder. With its slice, one would be transported to a dimension of his worst fears.

Danny glared at the weapon. He didn't want to do anything, happy there were competent and more good-natured ghost hunters in New York. But while the ghost boy would have trouble ignoring a cry for help, this was an entirely different matter. The Fright Knight was too powerful to leave to his own devices.

"And just who ordered you to ruin my week?" Danny groaned as he fired ectoplasmic beams. He pushed back the Fright Knight, but it did nothing in comparison as the ghost stood firm and walked over to him.

"Insolent child! Did you really think you could harm me?!" The Fright Knight swung his blade nonchalantly as the ghost boy barely managed to avoid, stepping back as he phased through a wall. The knight looked around, waking cautiously with both hands holding his sword.

All he could hear was the sound of rats and Nightmare snorting as his metal boots rattled with each step. The knight felt a challenge as he focused his eyes.

"I commend you for your change in tactic, but hiding will not win you any battles!" The Fright Knight challenged. Instantly, his feet were grabbed, and found himself hoisted into the air, where Danny threw him into his steed.

Nightmare took the full blow but remained on all four legs, pushing back its master on his own feet.

"Alright, let's see if I can do...this..." Danny groaned as he aimed his hand.

Danny tried to concentrate, thinking back to his battle alongside Abby, Ty, and Lab Rat fighting Gutchern. It was only weeks, but the ghost boy had trouble summoning that ice power he had displayed before. During training, the only element he emitted was your average ectoplasmic energy.

However, Danny's move to try and summon a power he had no handle on proved terrible as he stopped to dodge a fist from the Fright Knight. The ghost boy mentally cursed himself, wondering why he still couldn't conjure ice at his will.

For now, Danny tried his best to keep up with his foe, avoiding blasts and the soul shredder. Any counterattack was carefully done when the blade was fully swung, giving him a wide opening.

Soon, the battle was interrupted by a stray proton beam with Garrett in front. The barrel of his proton pack hissed as the energy was building.

"Alright! Hands where I can see 'em!"

Danny turned to see the rest of the Extreme Ghostbusters following behind with proton beams aimed and ready to fire. The ghost boy gasped as he stared at the group in shock.

"Is it just me, or do these ghosts look, I don't know, less gruesome?" Eduardo commented as he eyed Danny and the Fright Knight.

"Yeah, kinda looks like he's looking for the next Comicon than a ghost." Garrett never took his eyes off the knight.

"We'll have to ask Egon after this," Roland said. "Unless anyone has a theory."

"I got nothing. Kylie?" Garrett directed everyone to their leader, who was quiet for a while. She had been staring at the two ghosts for a while.

"Interesting. Ethereal beings with more solid forms." Kylie held out her PKE meter. The machine went hysteric with its readings, yet it was more exciting to the girl than dangerous, evident by her smile. "And check out their composition—"

"Uh, Kylie?" Eduardo tapped her shoulder. He pointed at Danny and the Fright Knight, who had stood still this entire time.

"Wow, glad to see ghosts hunters that ask first and shoot after," Danny muttered. While the quip was to relieve stress, his body's shaking continued.

Unfortunately, Fright Knight was not in the mood for the interruption. He stormed over to the ghostbusters, readying his blade.

Danny, knowing he couldn't get too close, concentrated his powers as he tried to summon the ice powers again as his arms aimed at the Fright Knight. His body flickered with blue energy, but he couldn't ultimately bring out the ability.

Meanwhile, said ghost was closing in on the teens.

"Prepare to face your worst nightmare at the hands of The Fright Knight!" The Fright Knight's voice boomed and echoed in the tunnel, louder than ever.

"Nice offer." Garrett aimed his proton blaster.

"Here's our response," Roland added.

"Fire!" Kylie commanded as she and the others blasted the Fright Knight.

Danny watched in awe and slight confusion as all four beams made contact, the Fright Knight only groaned with a slight crouch. He stood back up and began resisting the radioactive constraints. Pushing his arms apart, the ropes of protoplasmic energy were pushed to a limit the Ghostbusters never seen before.

Before long, the Fright Knight broke free of the restraints, breaking the beams like threads with the Soul Shredder. The blast knocked everyone back but his steed. Walking over to the Ghostbusters, Danny got up and flew in between them, putting up a shield as his metal boots clanked again. They stopped right before the ghost boy.

"I see you're not as serious as before." Fright Knight sheathed his sword. "Very well! We shall have our duel another time. But know this, for as long as they interfere, I will consider them part of our fight. Be warned, Ghost Child."

The ghostly knight went to his steed, mounting Nightmare as the two flew off through the tunnel ceiling.

Danny watched the ghost leave, putting down the shield. He didn't move from that spot, watching the exit his foe took. The groans of the Extreme Ghostbusters got his attention as he turned around.

"Did someone get the license plate of that truck?" Roland groaned, rubbing his head. He picked himself up as the others did the same.

Garrett looked for his wheelchair, which had been sent an extra distance away. It wasn't a big deal to him, just maybe a quarter mile away that he started crawling towards.

Kylie saw Eduardo giving her a hand, which she took. After a moment, she seethed in pain as she glanced to where the Fright Knight had been.

"Didn't there used to be two ghosts?" she asked, noticing Danny Phantom was gone.

Turns out, Danny flew back as fast as possible once he saw they were alright. He felt guilty leaving them there, but his mind was focused on the Fright Knight and his sudden arrival. Landing on the rooftop of the firehouse and transforming, the ghost boy pondered about the changing situation. He knew of the Ghostbuster's leniency towards ghosts, but there was no way he would make them part of his battles.

The Ecto-1 had just a netted the garage as the teens got out. Eduardo seemed angry as he glared at Garrett.

"I'm telling you, it was Danny Phantom!" Eduardo said, getting out of the Ecto-1. He slammed the side door, going to the back and opening the door as the ramp slid out for Garrett to exit. Jazz glared at Danny, who was giving a sheepish smile.

"And just how do you know the guy's name?" Garrett asked. The boy held the occupied ghost trap as he rolled out.

"I looked him up." Eduardo's matter-o-fairly tone said everything. "You know, the internet has more than just cat videos."

Kylie and Roland gave unsure looks as they exited the car. Roland went to work on the Ecto-1's maintenance as he listened in. To the two, the world wide web was mainly for research, specifically whatever their college courses needed for an essay.

"And you looked him up because...?" Roland dragged the last word, enticing Eduardo to finish.

"Because I looked him up after the Fenton's left." Eduardo pulled out his phone and showed a picture of Danny Phantom flying with a ghostly tail.

Kylie grabbed the device and inspected the photo and the site it was on. "Welcome to the Danny Phantom Official Phan Club. Dedicated to Amity Park's greatest hero," she read out loud, scrolling down the home page.

"Seems like he's got quite the fan base...or phan base. I don't care how they spell it," she continued before tossing the phone back to Eduardo. He caught it but glared at the goth girl.

"And what would this Danny Phantom have to do with anything?" Egon asked, sliding down the fire pole. Danny and Jazz followed shortly, the latter enjoying the ride more than she'd admit.

Egon walked up to Eduardo, where he saw the site. He gave a blank face as he reviewed its content before going to the desk at the end of the garage.

"Professor Spengler, we saw this Danny Phantom in the tunnels. He was with some knight ghost who was immune to our proton packs. Called himself the Fright Knight," Kylie explained.

"Immune? Did you notice how he cut them in half!?" Eduardo ripped imaginary paper with his hands as he cried out. "We fired at the guy and he acted like a calm Hulk! And trust me, that's worse than it sounds."

Danny watched the reactions as he listened in, but most of his attention was on Egon Spengler. The man didn't seem impressed as he hummed over the phone. The works of news and blogs seemed to over fantasize supernatural beings or phenomena as if the subject was celebrity gossip. He returned the phone to Eduardo and said nothing, numb to the website with a blank face.

"Whatever the case, it would seem we've stumbled upon a feud between ghosts." Egon adjusted his glasses and looked at Danny and Jazz. The sibling wore nervous grins. "I don't know if his arrival correlates with yours, but the fact that another ghost from your town is here may indicate something greater at work."

Egon went to the desk nearby and got out some papers. He began drawing schematics and variables as he went on.

"Whatever the case, be on the look out and find out what's going on. For all we know, this knight ghost may not be the beginning," Egon said with a somewhat ominous tone in his voice.

Slimer flew in and hovered about Egon. He gurgled with worried tones as he loomed over the man.

Danny and Jazz looked at the ghost with raised brows. They barely knew anything about this ghost, besides that, he was friendly, but the ghost boy noticed how he and the other ghosts from before looked different than his gallery of ghosts.

"Maybe that's why your ghosts look creepier than the ones back in Amity Park?" Danny asked, pointing at the green slime ball.

"Don't ask us." Garrett pointed with his thumb at Egon, still working on the schematics as came from Kylie behind.

"Why don't you ask the experts?" Kylie asked, almost startling the ghost boy. He glanced at her for a moment, looking at her black hair and eyeliner. It was still weird meeting a goth like her, but that was about issues back in Amity Park.

Kylie looked up, noticing the boy's gaze. She caught something in the eye lock for a moment, but the staring contest stopped as Jazz coughed, gesturing to Egon.

"While I'm certain we can call this Danny Phantom a benevolent spirit, this Fright Knight is more concerning. As for why the more solid form." Egon got up, went to a nearby chalkboard, and drew on it with a chalk stub. "Ectoplasm is a highly malleable element that corresponds to various brain waves, from Alpha to Theta. I suspect that each ghost, spirit, or ectoplasmic being maintains a form in response to what can attribute to intelligence, will, or memory which then dictates the form and power of the being."

Egon looked back, seeing understanding on only a few faces. Reviewing the diagrams and equations on the board, Jazz walked up as Danny stayed behind.

"I see...yeah..." Jazz remarked. She touched the board, underlining some of the data with her finger.

"Pfft...no you don't," Garrett snarked.

Jazz turned to the wheel-chaired boy. She narrowed her eyes with a sharp glare made to cut stone. But the boy laughed.

"Oh, please. If you want to scare me, you're gonna have to be uglier than what we face. Eh, Eduardo?" Garrett jabbed Eduardo with his elbow, but the Hispanic boy shrugged.

"Maybe. Besides, it doesn't matter if she gets it now. Not everyone can keep up with Egon," Eduardo said, staring blankly at the board. It was hard to tell if he was serious, but the boy didn't seem to care.

Roland walked over, gave a glance, and shrugged. He scratched his head but didn't give a comment as everyone but Kylie stared at Danny, thinking he was with them on the matter. But Jazz didn't get the same message.

"Of course Danny gets it," Jazz defended. She blinked in pause as the words came out of her mouth. After a moment, the sister stared at her brother, who gave an indignant look.

Danny was not a fan of having his intellect put into question. He may be disinterested in school, which could be said for most students, but he knew his worth. He scowled as he heard a few chuckles from the guys.

"Wow, way to defend your brother," Eduardo snarked.

"Shut it!" Jazz snapped. "Look, I just wanted to make sure—"

"—That ectoplasm is like putty and it can be shaped by the ghost which then forms their powers depending on whether or not it has a brain?" Danny had a frown as he stared back at the room. Everyone was surprised to hear the clear and concise answer, most of all Jazz.

"Huh...Ok..." Jazz continued to stare at her brother, as did everyone else.

Danny, feeling his mind being undermined, decided it was the best time to leave. He walked out of the room and up the stairs as Jazz followed apologetically.

Egon and Janine watched as the two left. With the Fenton siblings gone, everyone returned to work as Garrett rolled the ghost trap to the basement. Roland returned to work on the Ecto-1, picking up the tools he left on the side.

"Hmph. I guess they are the children of ghost hunters," Kylie commented as she left to read in the lobby.

Before the goth left, she heard Egon humming as he glanced toward the stairs. Janine noticed as well.

"I hear ya, Egon. I didn't think Danny was paying attention either," Janine said.

"Didn't seem that way to me," Egon retorted as he went upstairs to his lab. "During the lectures, he was staring at the board, only moving when Jasmine got his attention. And Jazz was busy taking notes."

"So the guy's a natural?" Kylie turned in the direction Danny left in. She stared in intrigue as Egon continued.

"Hard to say. Judging from his attitude he seems more like your average adolescent. We'll have to see later in the week." Egon had not gone upstairs as Janine went to the reception desk in the garage. The woman was busy sorting papers and receipts, leaving the girl to her thoughts.

"Something up?" Eduardo asked, having not left the room.

Kylie glanced over her shoulder and shrugged at the boy. "I'm not sure," she said.

The two left for the living room, where Eduardo would watch tv.

Kylie took some of the books from the library and studied up on the occult in the room. She was researching anything that would give a clue to the nature of the Fright Knight. Now and then, the girl would take notice of Danny, who was in the same room, staring out the window with a neutral expression.

As quiet hours settled into the day, the containment unit in the basement was more lively than it showed. As the ghosts within saw the new residents, one smiled wickedly.

"So...you've come back." The ghost stood up and walked forward aimlessly. The surrounding spirits parted for him with each step. He didn't seem like he was going anywhere in particular, yet he kept walking towards something like it was calling to him.

"Have you come to finish what was started? Or do you not know of my presence here?" The spirit stopped. "Doesn't matter. For soon, I will take back the night."

Echoing through the containment unit, the ghost laughed in anticipation.

And we see our ghostly foe is the Fright Knight, and he's here to stay. Looks like Danny gets a Halloween tradition that follows him around. Luckily, he has help, but is he sure to use it? Anyway, thanks for your patience. Leave reviews so I know what you think and have a good day.
