Today is Extreme Rules and it's going to be a busy day. I have a radio interview early this morning, and then I'm meeting up with Phoebe and Nina for a late breakfast after.
I walk into Austin FM radio station and I'm escorted to the booth and meet the two hosts Geoff and Jane. We go over what will be talked about and are given the signal that we are live. "Good morning Austin." Geoff welcomes. "Jane how are you this morning?"
"Good, but I'm excited for tonight." Jane answers.
"Why?"
"Tonight is Extreme Rules at the Austin Center and I'm really looking forward to it." She responds. "For the first time in several years, a divas match will be an Extreme Rules match."
"And what do you know, we have one of those divas here right now, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, the Divas Champion herself, Sarah." Geoff introduces. "Sarah, welcome to Austin, how are you?"
I chuckle. "I'm good, pumped for tonight and it looks like I'm not the only one."
"It's a big match tonight, are you ready?" Jane asks enthusiastically.
"I'm always ready, but a little nervous too, but I'll use that as a motivation."
"So you're versing Paige and defending your title right?" Geoff asks.
"Sure am."
"And you were recently injured?"
I nod. "I was. I broke my neck and dislocated my shoulder and was out for 9 months."
"And that wasn't part of a storyline?" Jane asks.
"Unfortunately it wasn't." I confirm. "As WWE superstars we are in the public eye and we have many fans, and on the rare occasion we can get some not so nice people following us and unfortunately I fell victim to one."
"That must've been hard." Geoff assumes.
"It was, but I'm back better than ever."
"So, tonight you're versing Paige, a new diva on the roster, just a year ago that was you, are you worried that you might be forgotten?" Jane asks.
"Not at all. There are a ton of talented woman in WWE and in NXT. I'm not going to be on top forever, but I'll stay there as long as I can." I respond. "But I have to give it to her, Paige is young and she can fight, so she'll be around a long time." I add. "But just think for a moment, when was the last time a divas match was to this extent?"
"Not in a long time." Geoff answers.
"Correct."
"We've been following this feud and every time you or Paige appear on screen we can't seem to look away, it's addictive." Jane expresses.
I laugh. "I love what I do and I want to put on the best match possible. And as for tonight I'm hoping it's up to our expectations but we'll see what happens." I respond. "But just out of curiosity, who are you going for?"
"You of course." she answers quickly.
I laugh. "You answered right."
"Total Divas how is that going?" Geoff asks.
"It's great, we began filming the new season soon towards the end of last year." I answer. "It's been a great way for my fans to see a glimpse of what I do outside of WWE."
"We've seen some wild partying that's for sure." Jane laughs.
I chuckle. "I like to let my hair down sometimes."
"And you're not dating anyone?"
"No I'm not. I'm currently single."
"We heard some rumours about you dating Ian Somerhalder?"
"You did?" I ask shocked. "Wow, I haven't heard that rumour before, but no I've never dated Ian." I respond. "Yes we hung out in a group setting, that's pretty much it."
"Fans seem to think otherwise." Jane speaks up.
"Well I'll put those rumours to rest, they aren't true, I'm not dating anyone, I'm single and just focusing on myself."
"Good for you."
"That's about all the time we have today, thank you so much for coming in Sarah and good luck tonight." Geoff wishes.
After the interview I arrive at a cafe and a few minutes later I feel someone's hands cover my eyes. "Guess who." A familiar voice asks.
"Uh Leah." I joke.
Phoebe hits me playfully and laughs. "Wrong."
"Hi." I greet standing up hugging her and then Nina. "Hey Nina."
"We heard your radio interview this morning." She addresses.
"A lot of people did, and I was supposed to talk about Extreme Rules, but they were more curious about my love life."
"You know the truth hun."
"I do."
"Speaking of rumours, that Ian one shocked us." Phoebe continues.
I nod in agreement. "Same here, I have no idea where that came from as I haven't spent any alone time with him, if anything, I thought they would have asked me questions about a certain co-worker."
They both shrug, "At least you put those rumours to bed."
"Anyway, what time are you guys heading to the arena?"
"Everyone flies in this afternoon so we'll pick them up and head to the arena after that." Phoebe responds. "We won't bother going backstage as you have your hands full tonight."
"That I do."
"Big match, are you nervous?" Nina asks.
"Beyond." I admit.
After some practice in the ring more superstars and divas arrive and we start to get ready. Amy puts my hair into curlers and waits for them to set. She does my make-up; a green shimmery smoky eye with false lashes.
Once my hair and make up is finished I find Sandra to get my gear. "Sandra." I greet.
"Just in time baby girl." Sandra says. "This is for you."
My mouth drops as she shows me my gear and it's beautiful. It's mint green shorts and a matching crop top with dark green gems. "Omg, Sandra it's gorgeous, you outdo yourself every time."
"All for you baby girl."
"Thank you."
"Now go try it on so we can tape you in and do some last minute alterations."
Eventually the show starts and Saraya and I are called to the gorilla. Saraya and I walk hand in hand nervously, as we know this match will be huge for our careers. Stephanie appears with Vince. "Good luck ladies, you'll be brilliant." she assures.
I smile. "We hope to make you two proud." I reply.
"You both have." Vince says. "You are both great talents, so use that tonight, we all believe in you."
The match before us is has just finished and we get ready to head out. "Good luck." I whisper.
"Let's show everyone what we've got and leave it all out there." Saraya suggests.
"Let's kill it."
Our video package is played and they crowd starts to get rowdy. Once the video ends Paige's music starts and she sends me a smirk and walks out to a loud reaction of boos.
