The next day in Helensburgh Pennsylvania, Saraya and I arrive at the arena for Smackdown.
We drop off our stuff and make our way to find Mark. "Ladies, just a reminder, tonight you're in the mainevent and both your teams will be out there with you, so go out there and kill it." He encourages.
"We will." We respond.
We then head down to the ring to do some training. Once we are happy what we have blocked out, it's time to get ready. Tonight for my gear I'm wearing an all black long sleeve sparkled crop top with matching shorts and my hair is a half up with fishtail braid in soft waves.
The show begins and they continue to promote the mainevent throughout the night. Eventually we are given the signal to make our way to gorilla. I hug the guys and they venture out to concession to enter through the crowd. A worker walks up to us. "Paige will head out first, followed by Sarah." he informs us. "Before the bell rings Evolution will come out and stand in front of the ramp. The Shield will then walk down and stand on the other side." he adds. "You have 11 minutes out there, keep an eye out for the ref he will tell you when to go home."
We all nod and get in character. "Good luck." I whisper.
"You to girl, let's steal the show." She suggests.
Saraya is given the cue to head out and her music starts and the crowd give her a loud mixed reaction as she walks out. I watch as she makes her way to the ring. My music starts and the crowd go crazy. I take a deep breath and walk out.
I walk out and hold up my title as I take in the crowd. "And her opponent, from Seattle Washington, she is the Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces.
I make my way down the ramp and climb up onto the apron eyeing Paige. "A stare down to the challenger, Sarah looks ready." JBL comments.
"She does." Cole agrees. I climb the corner and turn to face the crowd and I raise my title in the air. I hop down and hand the belt over to the ref. Before the referee signals for the bell Evolutions music comes on and I look up at the ramp. "Oh no, I thought Evolution wasn't supposed to get involved."
"Maybe they just want to cheer on their team mate." JBL assumes as Evolution make there way down the ramp.
I eye them closely as they walk around the ring. I turn my attention back to Paige. The referee is about to signal for the bell but The Shield's theme blasts and the crowd goes crazy. "It looks like The Shield have similar ideas."
Dean, Roman and Seth make there way down to the ring and stand by the announce table.
The ref raises the title above his head and hands the belt over to a worker and signals for the bell. It rings and we stare off. "You can scrape the tension with a knife." JBL says.
Paige and I lock up and I push her into the ropes. The ref counts me for four and I step back cockily and raise my hands and the crowd cheers. Paige smirks and we lock up again, this time she pushes me into the ropes and mocks me. "You're so funny." I scoff.
"Cockiness from the two divas." Cole observes.
We lock up again and I over power her and place her into a headlock. I squeeze tightly to add some pressure but she starts to elbow me in the gut which makes me release my hold and she kicks me in the stomach. She runs the ropes but I drop down and she runs over me top of me, and when I hop back up I deliver a close line. "What a close line." JBL exclaims.
Paige moves to the corner and uses the ropes to pull herself up. I glance at my boys and they have grins on their faces. "The Shield look impressed." Cole observes. "Evolution hasn't moved, I wonder what is going on in their minds."
I charge at Paige but she jumps using the corner ropes and kicks me in the face. I hold my face as she jumps up onto the middle rope and delivers a cross body. "Lovely cross body off the second rope." JBL compliments. Paige covers "1." but I kick out.
Paige starts to work on my neck. She puts me in a sleeper hold to weaken me. I feel a sudden shooting pain go down my neck. "Ooh." I wince out of character.
"You okay?" Saraya asks covering our faces with her hair.
"Ease up." I whisper.
I start to fight out and elbow her in the gut. I run the ropes and deliver a quick close line. I cover "1, 2." but she kicks out. "A kick out by Paige." JBL says.
As stand and gently rub my neck to relieve some of the tension. I grab Paige's arm and start to work it over. I deliver a quick arm breaker and she screams. "Looks like Sarah has a plan to weaken Paige." Cole says looking on.
"Targeting a limb that's smart." JBL approves.
I deliver another arm breaker and roll through and place her into an arm bar. "Oh this is different. Sarah has Paige in an arm bar."
"Her arm isn't supposed to bend that way."
Paige starts to pry my hands apart which allows her to get out of the submission and reverse it into a scissor hold. "Paige reverses into a scissor hold." Cole adds.
I quickly kip up and we both stare off at each other and the crowd love it. "These girls are just getting started." JBL says loudly and the crowd cheers excitedly.
We lock up and Paige pushes me into the corner. The referee counts to four and at the last second Paige kicks me in the stomach which makes me fall to the floor. "Harsh kick to the mid-section of the champ.".
"Evolution looks impressed." JBL says as the camera pans to them smirking.
Paige walks away and screams. "This is my house."
The crowd boo loudly and this just makes Paige smile even more. As she walks back to the corner, I quickly switch places and start unloading on her in the corner delivering kick after kick, after kick. "Ooh." the crowd echo. "Some aggressive kicks by the champ." JBL exclaims. "There's the aggression we seem to forget she has."
I pull Paige up I drag her towards the corner and start climbing and I bring her with me. "What is Sarah doing?" Cole asks worried.
"It looks like she wants some height."
The crowd get rowdy as Paige is sitting on the top turnbuckle and I make it to where I want to be. "Sarah has Paige on the top corner, this isn't going to end well." Cole expresses. I finally get to the top rope but Paige starts to deliver head butts. "Some hard head butts to the champ."
I sway a bit but refocus and deliver a head butt of my own. "But Sarah delivers one right back."
This allows me to get hold of Paige and put her arm around my neck and shoulder. "Ready." I whisper. She nods. I lift her up into a suplex and we land hard on the mat and the crowd cheer loudly. "Suplex off the top rope these two must be hurt." Cole exclaims.
The Shield and Evolution look on in interest. "Both teams look impressed." JBL notices.
I start to stir and hold my neck a little. "It looks like Sarah is holding her neck."
"She seems to be favouring it whenever she has done a move, maybe this is a sign she's more hurt than she puts on."
I slowly crawl over to Paige and cover her. "1, 2." but Paige kicks out. "What." I shout.
I start to get to my feet and use the rope for help. "How did Paige kick out? she took most of the impact." Cole asks.
I get up frustrated. "Is this how it's going to be?" I shout.
"Sarah isn't happy Paige kicked out." Cole comments. I walk over to Paige and pull her up and deliver a neck breaker. "Beautiful neck breaker." I cover Paige "1, 2." but she kicks out.
I pull her up and run the ropes and go to deliver a close line but she ducks, runs the ropes and when we meet back in the middle she picks me up and delivers a nasty spine buster. "Ooh." the crowd echo and some seem to cheer the move as its shades of Triple H. "It looks like Paige has been studying her teammates." Cole mentions as the camera pans to Triple H grinning. Paige covers me. "1, 2." but I kick out and the crowd cheer and The Shield clap for the first time. "That's the first movement from The Shield."
I quickly roll out of the ring to regain my strength. Paige follows after me and pulls me up. She rams me back first into the barricade and I let out a scream. "Paige just wants to injure Sarah." JBL says.
Paige pulls me up and turns towards the steel steps. She winds me up but I reverse it and send her into the steel steps and she lands with a loud thud. "Holy shit." the crowd chant.
"Did you hear that impact?" Cole asks as I lean against the barricade holding my neck as I stare at the members of Evolution. "Is it safe for Sarah to be that side?"
Randy goes to move towards me but Seth comes up behind me and stands next to me. "I think The Shield thought the same thing." JBL responds.
The referee is counting and I see Paige starting to move. "Don't get involved in this match." I yell at everyone.
I walk over to Paige and she slaps me hard across the face and I stumble. "Wow." the crowd echo. "That was a slap and a half." Cole says loudly.
I turn back to Paige and I'm angry now. "I'm done playing nice."
"Did Sarah's face just change? She's pissed off now!" JBL says.
I quickly turn back to Paige and deliver a hard slap of my own and she stumbles. I roll Paige back in the ring and she is on all fours. I quickly climb the corner and wait for her to get to her feet. As she turns, I stand and dive on top of her and deliver a flying cross body. I cover her "1, 2." but she kicks out. "Dammit." I shout frustratedly and bang my hands on the mat angrily.
"Sarah is getting frustrated." Cole notices.
I place Paige in a sleeper hold. "Sarah locks in another sleeper hold." JBL announces.
Paige starts to fade but the members of Evolution start to walk around the ring and that gets me to release my hold and stand up. "What are you doing?" I shout.
They ignore me as they walk closer to The Shield. The Shield walk towards them ready to take them on. "Are we about to see them fight?" Cole wonders.
I walk towards the ropes and glare at them as Paige gets up and from behind Paige she grabs me and rolls me up. "Paige with the roll up." JBL shouts. "1, 2 and." at the last second I kick out and before I can even flinch she kicks me in the face. "What a kick!"
Evolution smirk as they go back to their original position. "Sarah has to be out cold." Cole says loudly. Paige covers me "1, 2 and" I kick out at the last second again.
The crowd erupt as I lie on my stomach breathing heavily. Paige screams in shock. "How did Sarah kick out?" JBL questions.
The Shield comes to my side of the ring and cheers me on. "Come on Sarah, stay in this." Seth encourages.
"Rollins with some words of encouragement." Cole notices.
I lean against the ropes on the commentators side and pull myself up. Paige charges at me and I use a new boost of adrenaline and I throw her over the top rope and she lands hard on the floor on outside of the ring. "Yes." the crowd cheers excitedly. "Come on." I yell out as I get to my feet.
"Where did that strength come from?" JBL wonders.
"I have no idea, she was barely standing." Cole responds.
Paige lands at the feet of The Shield and Evolution come around and stand several metres away from them. Paige starts to stir and I have an idea. With the attention on the outside of the ring, I climb the corner and just as Paige stands, I jump from the top turnbuckle onto all members of Evolution knocking them down. "Holy Shit." the crowd shout.
"Sarah just took out Evolution." JBL shouts.
I slowly get to my feet with a new boost of energy. "Come on, this is The Shields yard." I yell out and I bump fists with Dean who smirks as I pick up Paige and roll her back in the ring.
The members of Evolution start to get up and they glare at me. From the ring I blow them a kiss and start stomping on Paige.
I walk over to Paige and I pick her up in the position for The Kiss of Death. "This is awesome, this is awesome, this is awesome." The crowd chant.
I lift Paige up over my shoulder but she starts elbowing me in the head and slips out of my hold landing on her feet and delivers a neck breaker and I land hard on the mat. "Paige just countered the KOD and turned it into a neck breaker." Cole shouts.
The Shield members look on in shock. I hold my neck tightly it hurts. Saraya hovers over me. "You okay?" She whispers.
I shake my head. "No. Lets finish the match." I whisper. "1, 2 and" at the last second I kick out.
"Omg." everyone shouts.
Dean, Roman and Seth yell in excitement. "Come on champ."
Paige looks at me and grabs my legs and goes to lock in the PTO but I kick her in the face and she stumbles backwards. She goes to attack me but I block her and get to my knees and we start to deliver punches to each other. I punch her, she punches me. And we repeat that over and over.
We are both on our feet and I deliver a double punch to her face and she stumbles which allows me to gain some momentum run the ropes and deliver a shoulder tackle, and I follow it with a second. I whip her into the corner quickly and she crashes to the mat. I smirk as I pull Paige up and put her on my shoulders. "Sarah caught Paige, is she going to hit The Back Attack?" Cole wonders.
I turn to face Evolution as I deliver The Back Attack and you can hear the impact from the bleachers. "Ooh." the crowd echo. I quickly cover "1, 2 and 3."
I smile and make it to my feet and the referee raises my arm in victory. "Here is your winner, and still your Divas Champion, Sarah." Lillian announces.
I get my title and raise it above my head. I turn to face Evolution and raise it again. "It looks like Sarah is ready for Sunday, and she's walking in as Divas Champion." JBL announces.
"And The Shield are going in with a win too." Cole adds.
My boys get in the ring and celebrate with me. Seth raises my arm in victory and we turn our attention to Evolution and a fallen Paige who is being helped out of the ring by Batista. "This ends Sunday." Seth declares and he turns back to face me and grins as the show goes off air.
Once we get through the curtain Colby lifts me up off of my feet and hugs me. "You killed it." He exclaims.
I chuckle. "You think so."
Jon comes over and hugs me from behind. "You killed it."
I laugh. "Thanks, that was so cool."
"We were holding our breath, you two did so well, and I saw Paul smile when we ended filming." Joe adds.
"You weren't bored out there?" I ask.
"Hell no, we could feel the intensity from the crowd they loved it." Colby replies.
Saraya comes up from behind. "You did so good." She praises.
"You too."
Paul walks back from the ring. "You two did a great job." he says and then turns to me. "Now you, you were holding your neck, what's wrong?" He asks sternly.
Everyone looks at me concerned. "I don't know, when I was in the neck hold I felt a shooting pain, but it stopped. But when I got hit with that neck breaker it came back." I respond. "It's gone now, but I feel stiff."
"I want you to get it checked out right now." Paul orders.
"I'll take her." Colby offers.
After getting checked over by the doc I get the all clear. Doc says to ice, heat pack and rest and I should be fine. "Make sure you get Saraya to massage your neck." Colby advises.
"Yes sir." I respond with a smirk and he rolls his eyes.
"You did great out there." he repeats and we hug
"Well I better go, I'll see you Sunday."
He nods and walks off. "Oh and you looked hot out there."
I blush as I watch him walk away. "What was that?" I hear a voice ask from behind me.
I turn to see Brie, Nicole and Saraya grinning at me. "What was what?"
"That with Colby?" Saraya says pointing in the direction he went.
"Nothing."
"Sure it was." Nikki chuckles and I just roll my eyes.
"There is nothing going on."
"From the looks of it, there so is." Brie chimes in.
"He's single." Saraya mentions.
"And so are you." Nicole adds.
"Stop it. I told you I'm not dating right now." I remind them.
"But you've always liked him, we see you, you get all girly and flirty around him." Brie continues.
"I do not." I deny as my voice rises.
They laugh. "We know when your lying."
I give them the middle finger and walk off. "I'll meet you at the car." I grumble.
