This is my second published Mcrollins fanfic! Please let me know how I can improve it and if you like it! FYI: I started writing this before the finale. REMEMBER I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS!

Thank you so much for all the comments and follows for this story. They motivate me to continue writing more frequently. I already pre wrote some of the next chapters, I just need to edit them a bit. Please be patient with me as I am a full-time student. Sorry for not updating in a while.

Chapter 3

"I see you are accompanied."

"Hi Danny, it's good to see you too."

"Uh, hi Catherine."

"I'll come back later."

Catherine looked at Steve then back to Danny.

"Actually I was just about to leave. I'll text my daughter and we will go."

Catherine texted Caroline. Soon, John and Caroline entered the room.

"Hi uncle Danny."

"Hi John."

Danny and Steve exchanged looks at each other than back to Caroline.

"Steve, Danny, this my daughter Caroline."

"Hi, Caroline, I'm Steve and that is Danny.

"It's nice to meet you both. Mom, you said we are going to go now?"

"Uh yea, lets go."

"Bye Steve. Get better. Bye Danny, nice seeing you. It was a pleasure to meet you John."

Catherine and Caroline headed out the room and closed the door. They headed to the rental car and Catherine started driving to the resort.

"Wow mom, I could sense all the awkwardness."

"How was talking to John?"

"He's nice, we talked about our other parents and the past. He even offered to teach me how to drive!"

"That's nice sweetie. I'm glad you and John were able to talk."

"Did you and Steve rekindle anything?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about, young lady."

Catherine couldn't help the smile on her face. Just imagining Steve and her getting back together, she thought it was going to be impossible.

"Whatever mom, I think there's something going on here."

"Steve and I didn't really even talk, we just held hands for a while and looked at each other's eyes."

"Seems like the silence spoke thousands of words."

The rest of the car ride to the resort was filled with joy and laughter.

Back at the hospital…

"John."

"Yes, dad?"

"I think I should give you two sometime, here's the coffee Steve."

"No, Danny, you can stay."

"I think you two should have more father son bonding."

Danny quickly put the coffee on the table and dashed out the door.

"I guess uncle Danny was in a hurry. Maybe I should check on him."

"John Daniel McGarrett. Put your butt back down on this seat."

"Yes dad."

"How did you get a hold of Catherine?"

"While you were sleeping yesterday, I uh, used your phone to call her."

"And how did she know I was in this room."

"I uhhhhh saved her number on my phone and texted her after and I guess when she landed she asked me."

"Young man delete that number off your phone."

"Why dad?"

"You're not going to need that number anytime soon."

"Why not dad, I can tell she makes you feel better."

"Did you and her rekindle anything?

"No, didn't get the chance to."

"Call her, find her, do something dad."

"I can't do that now."

"Why not dad, you have resources?"

"Your uncle Danny is never going to approve of looking into her."

"Ask uncle Junior or aunt Tani or uncle Lou or uncle Ian. Just ask someone."

"Fine, give me my phone, I'll call them."

"Great dad. Do it now."

The doctor walked in with papers.

"How are you feeling Steve?"

"I'm great, no pain."

"That's good, you're getting discharged today."

"That's great dad, then we can go home."

Back to the resort…

"Wow mom this room is amazing, the views are beautiful, and the pools… I love it so much!"

"I am very glad you're happy."

"Thank you so much mom! I love you!"

"Let's get ready to head down to the pools."

Two hours later…

Steve rushed through the doors of the headquarters.

"Hey Steve, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in your hospital bed?"

Steve looked around to make sure everyone was in their offices.

"I'm fine Lou, did you find it out?"

"You don't look fine man."

"I assure you I'm okay, did you?"

Lou looked around to make sure no one suddenly walked in. Lou handed Steve a paper.

"She's here."

"Thank you."

"Danny's going to kill you."

"Danno isn't going to do that."

"Danno isn't going to do what?"

"Thanks Lou."

Steve dashed out of headquarters.

"Steven John McGarret, get your butt back here!"

"Did we get a case?"

"Yes."

Everyone came out of their offices.

"Did I hear Steve earlier?"

"Yeah, he just got discharged, he didn't want to tell anyone."

"Why?"

"Good question Junior. Anyways, we got a case guys, let's go."

McGarrett Residence…

"John! Pack your bags, we are going to a resort."

John peaked his head out of his room.

"Did you just say resort dad?"

"Yes, hurry up and pack your things."

The drive going there was full of silence. John finally decided to say something.

"Are you okay dad? You didn't say anything about taking a vacation, plus you just got discharged from the hospital two hours ago."

"I'm fine John. You told me to find her and here we are."

"Woah, dad, this place is nice."

"Catherine always knows how to out do herself."

"I booked a two room villa and canceled Catherine's room."

"Dad, does she know you did that?"

"Nope, that's why this is a surprise."

"So what's the sleeping arrangements then?"

"Well one bedroom has two beds and the other has one king so you and Caroline can share the two beds."

"Kinda awkward dad, we don't even know each other."

"That's why this gives you an opportunity to get to know her. Plus you're the one who wanted Catherine and I to be together."

Steve parked the Silverado in the parking garage and checked them in.

"Here's your card John, let's put our bags in the room then we can head to the pools."

Hours later…

"I'm going to go up to her room to tell her, I can ask her to send Caroline down."

"Kay dad, I'll be at the beach."

"Here's Caroline's card, please find and give it to her."

Steve dried himself off, went up the elevator to her room. He knocked on the door and waited.

Catherine opened the door and was in shock.

"Steve?"

"Hi Cath."

"What are you doing here?"

"Well I thought, since you're here, we can have more time to talk and our kids can get to know each other."

"Steve…"

"I cancelled your room."

"YOU DID WHAT!"

"Before you freak out, I have a two bedroom suite, Caroline and John can share a room, it has two beds."

Will Catherine join Steve or will she leave?
