This is my second published Mcrollins fanfic! Please let me know how I can improve it and if you like it! FYI: I started writing this before the finale. REMEMBER I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS!
Sorry for not updating in awhile, I haven't been as motivated to write more for this story, but don't worry summer is coming soon and I will continue this story until the end. Happy Catherine Rollins Day! In honor of Catherine Rollins Day, I took some time to publish this chapter and a chapter for my other story Kēia Mua Iho. Stay safe everyone and thank you for your continuous support for this story :)
Chapter 4
"Come in sailor."
"Thank you."
"Caroline is downstairs, I can tell her to come up to grab her bags."
"John is downstairs too, it's okay, I can grab them. Here is your key."
They gathered all the bags and headed to Steve's suite.
"Wow sailor, you really outdone yourself."
Catherine and Steve put the bags down on the couch then Catherine wrapped her arms around Steve's neck.
"Gotta have the best for my lieutenant."
"Mmm, we never got a chance to do this in the past."
Steve kissed her on the lips.
"Since the kids are downstairs, do you want to, you know?"
"There's a new side in you sailor."
"Let's test the bed out."
Steve carried Catherine bridal style into their room and closed the door. He put her down on the bed.
"Mmm, this is nice."
"Mmm, I missed this."
An hour later…
"Wow."
"That was amazing."
"Mmm, so how long are you planning on staying?"
"I don't know, how long do you want me to stay?"
Meanwhile…
"I wonder where she is."
John walked around the resort until he spotted her sitting on the edge of the main pool. He walked up and sat down next to her.
"Hey Caroline, it's me, John."
Caroline was startled by hearing his voice and fell in the pool.
"Hey, are you alright?"
John hopped into the pool and pulled her out of the water. Caroline wiped her face and opened her eyes.
"Uh… hi John."
"Are you okay? You just fell into the pool."
"Yah… I'm okay."
"I'm sorry I startled you."
"It's nothing, you didn't. I was just surprised to hear your voice so soon… and here."
John pulled out her room key out of his pants pocket and put his hand out to her.
"Uh… here is your room key."
"What do you mean?"
Caroline pulled out the room key she had on her.
"This is my room key."
"Uh… actually it isn't… anymore."
Caroline took the key out of John's hand and put it in her other pocket.
"So.. I'm guessing your dad had something to do with this."
"Sort of… he got a two bedroom villa… for our families."
"Free upgrade for my birthday…"
"You can think of it that way… now you have a buddy to spend your birthday with."
"Uh thanks John, I guess I do have a buddy now."
"Well, wanna go on the slides before dinner?"
"Hell yes…"
John and Caroline went on the slides numerous times before it sadly closed.
"Hey John, you wanna watch the sunset with me on the beach?"
"Sure…"
They walked to the beach and found a spot to watch the sunset.
"The view is nice."
"Yea, the view is… very nice."
John was staring at her. He reached his hand out and turned her head.
"John, what are you doing?"
John closed his eyes, went closer to her face, and kissed Caroline on the lips. Caroline closed her eyes in response. But, Caroline quickly realized what she was doing, she pulled away and stood up.
"Sorry John I can't do this."
John stood up and grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug.
"I'm sorry I kissed you."
"It's not your fault."
"Tell me what's wrong first."
John let go of her and they sat back down.
"John I can't because I have uh… boyfriend."
"Ohh, I'm sorry."
"Don't do that please, it's my fault."
"The second I laid eyes on you, all I wanted to do was kiss you."
"Don't get me wrong, you're cute and funny, but I have a boyfriend… back in California and he's a good guy."
"Uh maybe we should head back upstairs…"
"Uh yea…"
John and Caroline walked back to the elevator in awkward silence. In the elevator, they stood in the back corners desperately waiting for the door to open for their floor. No one else was in the elevator with them.
"I can get it."
John took out his key and opened the door for Caroline.
"Thanks."
John followed Caroline into the room.
"Hey guys, how was the pool?"
"It was okay dad."
"Yea mom..."
John put down his towel and headed straight for Steve and Catherine's room and closed the door behind him. Caroline walked straight to her room and closed the door behind her. Catherine and Steve looked at each other.
"I wonder what happened down there."
"Me too… I'll start dinner."
Soon John opened the door and sat on the couch in the living room.
"I'll take care of the rest, you go talk to your son."
Steve sat down next to John.
"What's wrong buddy?"
John looked up when he saw that Caroline opened the door. He could tell she just took a shower.
"It's nothing dad. I'm going to take a shower."
John got up, he quickly walked to the bedroom and closed the door.
Catherine saw what happened and decided to ask Caroline.
"Hey Steve, can you set up dinner?"
"Yea."
Catherine sat down next to Caroline.
"What's wrong sweetie?"
"Nothing…"
"I am your mom Caroline, I know there's something wrong."
"Can we not talk about this now..."
"We can go into my room, come on."
They sat down on the bed in Steve and Catherine's room. Catherine closed the door to make Caroline feel a little more comfortable.
"Tell me now."
"Fine, uh… John and I had fun…"
"And?"
"We sat on the beach to watch the sunset… then he uh… kissed me."
"That's why. You told him, didn't you."
"About Mason?"
"Yea, kinda."
"I'm glad you're a responsible girl and told him the truth."
"Yea, but I'm worried it ruined our friendship though, he's really cool and a great friend you know. I don't want to ruin your happiness mom either."
"I know sweetie, don't worry, you and John will get over this soon."
"Thanks mom… for everything."
"You're welcome, let's eat dinner."
They walked out of the room and sat down around the table. John soon came out with a towel around his neck. He was only wearing shorts. Caroline couldn't help but stare at his abs. Catherine noticed what her daughter was doing and whacked her leg so she would snap out of it.
"Ooo smells good, thank you for cooking Catherine and dad."
"Let's dig in."
Will John and Caroline be able to continue this vacation without anymore awkwardness?
