Sorry I haven't been posting as much for this story. I am not as motivated to write this story as I am for my other one. Please bear with me, I promise I will continue writing this story until I feel it is complete (not anytime soon lol). Reading your comments is always a great motivation for me! Chapter 6
Sadly it was time for Catherine and Caroline to return back to Coronado.
"Steve we need to go, we already extended our stay by a few days. Caroline needs to go back to school to finish the year and I need to go back to work."
"But you can stay here with me, come back to the task force, there has always been a spot for you."
"I really do appreciate it Steve, but she needs to finish her sophomore year in high school and I need to quit my job first in order to move back here. It's just a couple of months until we get that all taken care of. Then we can move here and find a place to live."
"What do you mean find a place to live, aren't you happy here in my house?"
"I am, but I don't want to burden you anymore, my daughter and I would be a big change in the house you know."
"My son is going to be a senior next year and I have plenty of room in this house. Plus you don't have to worry about an extra financial issue."
"I guess you're right Steve, we will have to ask the kids first before anything is final."
"How about we ask them tonight since you and Caroline are leaving tomorrow morning."
Catherine got up from the couch and walked behind Steve, she put her arms around him.
"I have to finish packing, sailor."
"You can still leave some things here, then you don't have to ship as much here."
Steve lifted his head up to kiss her on the lips.
"I guess you're right, care to help me sailor."
"We can talk to the kids now, isn't my son helping Caroline."
"I guess we can head to their room."
Steve and Catherine walked to their room.
"John, Caroline, Catherine and I have to discuss some things with the both of you."
John and Caroline looked at each other.
"We would like to have your permission to move here permanently, as in Caroline and Catherine staying here."
"I'm cool with that dad."
"Caroline?"
"I would love to mom! Are we still going back home tomorrow morning?"
"Yes sweetie, you still need to finish the school year and I need to clean out the house and quit my job. You can leave some of your things here so there would be less to ship."
"Got it mom, I guess I should unpack some things."
The next morning, Steve and Catherine got up to do last minute packing.
"You got everything you need?"
"Yeah, are you sure we can leave stuff here?"
"Yes, John and I can unpack it."
"Are you sure?"
"It's no problem."
"Thank you Sailor."
Steve drove them to the airport and John tagged along.
"What airline again Cath?"
"United."
Steve found the sign and parked the car. John and Steve got out of the car to help them take out their bags.
"Thanks John."
"No problem Caroline."
"Have a safe flight."
"Thanks."
There was an awkward silence between the two.
"Cath."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, sailor."
They kissed each other and Steve didn't want to let her go.
"Hey… I'll be back."
"I know."
Catherine let go of Steve and walked towards John and Caroline.
"We will see you soon John."
"Yes."
"Good luck with your studies John."
"Good luck with your studies Caroline."
"You ready Caroline?"
"Yea mom."
Catherine and Caroline walked away.
"Hey buddy, ready to go home?"
"Yes dad."
"We can head down to the beach and surf."
"Sounds good dad."
Months later…
"Mom!"
"Yes sweetie?"
When Caroline didn't answer, she walked into Caroline's room and saw her on the floor crying. She bent down and sat next to her.
"What's wrong sweetie?"
"Mason cheated on me…"
"It's okay sweetie."
"I know I cheated on him first by accident but…"
"What happened?"
"I saw him with Caitlyn after school… kissing."
"Did you tell him about the kiss months ago?"
"No… I knew we were moving back to Hawaii and thought we may break up before that, but I didn't expect him to cheat on me… especially like that."
"I'm sorry he did that. Does he know you know?"
"No…"
"Are you going to tell him?"
"I'll call him tomorrow. He doesn't know that we are moving yet."
"Well I wish you good luck sweetie."
"Thanks mom. I'm going to stay up here for awhile so you can continue working."
"Okay… I'm just doing some last minute arrangements."
"Okay."
"We will be in Hawaii next month."
"Can't wait!"
What will Caroline say to Mason?
