AN: Hey everyone, I have the next chapter here. I really liked this one, as I got to have a lot of fun with the battle systems and moves. Like I said, this will be the last main chapter for a while now. I will do a save state chapter in a bit, but will hold off on it until I get more word about that project I am running with someone else. Hope you enjoy this chapter, leave a review with your comments and questions, and have a nice day.

Chapter 17 – Brave and Bold
The four had moved from the arena to a small room. Hilda, Blake, and Weiss sat on a couch. While the mysterious man stood with his arms crossed, glaring at them.
"Look, we're sorry for breaking in." Hilda broke the silence, "But can you let us off the hook?'
"Nooooooo!" the mysterious man shouted, causing all three girls to flinch, "Do any of you realize what this place is?"
"Some sort of flying fortress?" Blake commented.
"This is the Battle Pyramid." He responded.
"Is that a gym?" Weiss asked.
"Nooooooo!" the mysterious man shouted, "The Battle Pyramid is the head facility of the Battle Frontier." He then placed his right hand on his chest, "And I am its Frontier Brain, Brandon."
"…Never heard of it," Hilda commented, causing Brandon to turn towards her.
"You seem to be from Unova, the Battle Frontier is not in your region." Brandon said before looking to Weiss and Blake, "As for you two, I cannot exactly place what region you appear to be from."
"It's…very far away," Weiss commented, then looked to Blake. The black-haired gave her a nod before both looked to Brandon, "Look, this facility resembles something we know." She then clenched her fists, "Do you know of a place called…Vale? Or even, Remnant?"
"…" Brandon remained quiet for a few seconds, then walked to his left. The girls looked over towards a large bookshelf, seeing the Frontier Brain take one with him, "This was a gift from one of the other Frontier Brains." He said while handing the book to Blake, "It mentions a world called Remnant with four Kingdoms, one of which was known as Vale." He then crossed his arms as Blake and Weiss looked at the book, "However, in reading this book, it seemed more like a collection of fairytales than any lost history."
"T-this is," Weiss' spoke in awe, Blake matching in astonishment, "Who gave you this book?"
"Why?" Brandon asked, "What does it mean to you." Hilda also turned to them, a look of slight worry on her face.
"It…" Weiss responded, but then hesitated. Suddenly, Blake grabbed her left hand. The two looked at each other before turning back to Brandon, "…We are from Remnant."
"…" Brandon did not say a word.
"…Eh?" Hilda commented, "Did you two hit your head against the glass?"
"Hilda, we're sorry." Blake responded, "We aren't just new to Pokemon, we're new to this whole world."
"We had to hide this detail from you." Weiss added on, "We thought it would scare you away."
"Scare me?" Hilda commented, "Nah, this is cool!" She said with a smile, "I just made friends with a couple of aliens."
"We aren't aliens. At least, that doesn't seem right after what happened to our bodies." Blake responded, "We lost our abilities, it felt like our genetic code was altered when we came here." The black-haired girl then felt the top of her head, "Even more than we thought was possible."
"Oh," Hilda responded, a look of shock on her face.
Weiss then turned to Brandon, "We still have to find our friends and a way back home." She informed, "We aren't lying, but we need your help. Please, can you tell us who gave you that book? Maybe they could-"
"I cannot do that." Brandon responded, "Their whereabouts are kept hidden, not even I know the location." He then reached out his hand, taking the book away from Blake, "I will be making a landing soon to drop you three off and repair the damaged glass."
"Y-you're just disregarding everything we just told you!?" Weiss responded.
"You don't believe us?" Blake added on.
"Would you?" Brandon responded, causing both girls to go silent, "There are hundreds upon thousands of legends." He said while looking at all the texts on his bookshelf, "I have spent my life researching and uncovering the hidden secrets of this world." The Frontier Brain said before placing the book on the self, "I do not have time for another world."
"You!" Weiss stood up, then pointed at Brandon, "We challenge you to a battle!" she said with the Frontier Brain scowling back, "If we win, you have to help us!"
"And if I win?" Brandon said as he crossed his arms.
"We'll leave," Blake added on as she stood up beside her friend, "And you'll never hear from us again."
Brandon remained silent for a second, then grinned, "Fine, I accept your challenge." He then started to walk out of the room. Blake and Weiss soon followed, but Hilda had a look of worry as she lagged behind.
Upon reentering the arena, the glass had already been swept away. Brandon stood on the left end, while Blake and Weiss were on the right. Hilda sat at a bench behind the duo, watching each ready their pokeballs, "Both of you, be extra careful." She advised with Blake and Weiss nodding back.
"Each of us will use three Pokemon." Brandon declared, "You may use both of your Pokemon at the same time."
"Okay then," Blake said as she looked down at her first choice, "Espurr, I need your help."
As she tossed out the Pokeball, the restraint Pokemon emerged, "Espurr!" He said before adjusting the bow on his head.
"I'm up now," Weiss said as she took out a ball, "Go, Feebas."
Out of the Pokeball formed the fish Pokemon, "Feebas!" she said while flailing on the battlefield.
"You caught a fish?" Blake commented to Weiss.
"Yeah, she's actually really strong," Weiss informed, then had a look of panic. "Uh Blake, you don't happen to-" She was saying as the black-haired lady looked back at her in confusion, "N-never mind." The white heiress said before looking back to the arena but gasped upon seeing Espurr salivating at the sight of the fish Pokemon.
"If that is what you intend to fight me with," Brandon commented, taking out a Pokeball, "Then this will not take long."
"Overconfidence will be your downfall," Weiss responded with Blake nodding.
"No, it will be yours." Brandon responded, reeling back his arms for a throw, "Registeel, I need your assistance!" emerging from the Pokeball was a massive metal creature with thin arms. As it landed on the ground, the arena shook from its weight. The seven red-doted eyes formed a hexagon. Weiss and Blake gasped causing the dots to light up.
Hilda took out her Pokedex as a line of sweat ran down her face, "Registeel's body is made of a strange material that is flexible enough to stretch and shrink but also more durable than any metal." The Pokedex spoke, "Yikes, that sounds really strong." Hilda commented before noticing something else on the Pokedex, "Wait, Registeel is the Iron Pokemon?"
"Now then," Brandon said before crossing his arms, "Let the battle begin."
"Espurr, use double team to surround Registeel," Blake called out.
"Es," the restraint Pokemon ran in before sprinting into five clones. They surrounded the iron Pokemon, but it did not move from its position.
"My turn," Weiss said before pointing, "Feebas, use Scald!" she said with the fish Pokemon shotting a stream of hot water into the metal body. As Registeel was heated from the water, Weiss smiled as she took out her Pokeball, "Good, now return Feebas." She recalled her Pokemon before tossing out another Pokeball, "Go Vulpix."
Emerging from the Pokeball was the snow fox Pokemon, "Vul!"
"Use Icy Wind!" Weiss said with her Pokemon unleashing a cool breeze towards the Iron Pokemon. The hot water began to freeze as Weiss grinned, "Least see how strong the metal is after it's been heat treated." She then looked to her friend, "You're move."
"Right," Blake said with a nod, "Espurr, hit it with Psyshock!"
The clones faded as the real Espurr was behind Registeel. His ears opened under the bow as psychic stones formed over the iron Pokemon, "Espurr!" the stones then crashed down on Registeel, creating a massive dust cloud.
"You see that" Weiss called out, "The two of us have won our first badges in the Pokemon league with those skills."
"Is that so," Brandon said as Hilda gritted her teeth. Suddenly, the seven doted eyes of Registeel glowed through the dust, causing Weiss and Blake to gasp, "Registeel, Use Iron Head on the Vulpix." Brandon called out, causing Registeel to dash out of the dust. His body was encased in a white and silver aura.
"Vul-" Vulpix flinched before the iron Pokemon crashed into her, sending the snow fox Pokemon skidding on the ground. Upon coming to a stop, her eyes were swirling, "Vulpix…" she said before going unconscious.
"W-what?" Weiss said in shock.
Registeel then turned around, looking directly at Espurr. "Use Lock-On," Brandon said before the iron Pokemon extend its arms. A red circle then pulsated off its body before shrining onto Espurr's forehead, "Now, Zap Cannon." The Frontier Brain said before Registeel gathered a green ball of electricity in its arms, then tossed it.
"U-use Double Team!" Blake called out in panic, causing Espurr to stilt into five clones again. The zap cannon passed through the fake ones, but then began the change trajectory, "Look out!" the black-haired lady warned her Pokemon.
"Es-" Espurr barely had time to turn around before the zap cannon hit the real one. A massive exposition of smoke and electricity formed. Upon settling, the restraint Pokemon was face down into the dirt, already unconscious.
"T-this can't be." Blake called out, "How is that thing so strong?"
"Registeel is a legendary Pokemon." Hilda commented, checking her Pokedex, "It is on another level compared to other species of Pokemon."
"Legendary!?" Weiss commented, turning back to Brandon, "How is that fair that you get to use Legendary Pokemon?"
"You challenged me," Brandon responded, his arms still crossed, "That means I have no reason to hold back at all." He then took out his Pokeball, "Registeel, return." The Frontier Brain then put the Pokeball away before getting a new one, "One more thing, I have defeated champions of Pokemon leagues before. One badge means nothing to me."
Weiss gritted her teeth as she recalled Vulpix to its Pokeball, then took out another, "Feebas, come on back out." She said with the fish Pokemon flailing on the battlefield.
Blake recalled Espurr to its Pokeball, looking at it with eyes of sorrow, the put the ball away and taking out another one, "Ninjask, come on out." She said with the ninja Pokemon zipping onto the battlefield.
"Regice, I need your assistance." Brandon tossed out a new Pokeball. Emerging was a creature made of clear blue ice. Its pillar-like body had formed its arms and piked legs. The seven yellow dots were in the pattern of a plus sign.
"Another one." Hilda said before scanning it with her Pokedex, "Regice, the Iceberg Pokémon. It is said to have slept in a glacier for thousands of years. Its body can't be melted, even by magma."
"Feebas, use Scald," Weiss said with a line of sweat running down her face. The fish Pokemon unleashing a hot stream of water into Regice's body. "This won't melt it, but if it's that could, I should freeze the water around its body to slow it down."
"Use Charge Beam." Brandon causing the iceberg Pokemon to fire a beam of electricity. It coiled with the Scald, but the electricity overpowered the stream. Before Weiss could say a word, it had already reached Feebas' body. In a matter of seconds, the fish Pokemon was shocked to a crisp, her eyes swirling in unconsciousness, "Now, target the other Pokemon and use Ice Beam." The Frontier Brian ordered with Regice doing so,
"Dodge it!" Blake called out with Ninjask taking off at high speed to avoid the Ice Beam. However, the chilling laser slightly nicked his right-wing, freezing it, and causing him to descend, "Oh no!"
"Focus Punch," Brandon called out with Regice reeling back its right pillar arm. A few seconds before Ninjask was about to hit the ground, the iceberg Pokemon skated toward him, pivoting its body to unleash a devasting punch. Ninjask was launching at high speed, his body crashing and lodging into a wall. Blake gasped as his eyes were already swirling, "The leaves both of you with one Pokemon left." He said before recalling Regice to his Pokeball.
"You-" Weiss said before recalling Feebas, "Zangoose, it's up to you!"
"Zan!" the cat ferret Pokemon emerged with his claws at the ready.
Blake recalled Ninjask before taking out a new Pokeball, "Shedinja, come on out!" She tossed out, causing the Shed Pokemon to emerge.
"Regirock, I need your assistance." Brandon tossed out his third Pokemon. This creature seemed to be formed of a type of tanned and orange rocks. The head also seemed to have seven yellow dots in the shape of an H-pattern.
"And that makes three," Hilda said while scanning this one with her Pokedex, "Regirock, the Rock Peak Pokemon. Every bit of Regirock's body is made of stone. As parts of its body erode, this Pokémon sticks rocks to itself to repair what's been lost."
"Shedinja, Shadow Sneak!" Blake called out as her Pokemon sunk into the shadows on the ground.
"Zangoose, use Slash," Weiss called out her Pokemon rushed into battle.
"Regirock, Stone Edge," Brandon called out with his arms crossed, causing Regirock stomp with his right leg.
As Zangoose was rushing in, he felt the ground slightly shake, "Zan-" the cat ferret Pokemon said before jumping to his right. A second later, jagged rocks erupted from the area. Zangoose watched as he narrowly avoided the hit, but soon realized that it never meant for him. Launched out of the shadows, Shedinja's body had him hit by the stone edge.
"No, Shedinja!" Blake called out as the shed Pokemon hit the ground with a loud thud, making no attempt to hover back into the air.
Zangoose looked on in dread but then felt an ominous shadow loom over him. He turned to see Regirock glaring down at him, "Now Regirock, finish this with Superpower." Brandon ordered as the rock peak Pokemon glowed in a red aura. It reeled back on of its stone arms, causing both Weiss and Zangoose to flinch.
"B-block it!" Weiss called out as Zangoose held up his arms in a defensive stance. Regirock unleashed his superpowered attack, the stone arm ramming into Zangoose's body. The Cat ferret Pokemon skidded backward on the heels of his back legs for nearly half the length of the arena before coming to a stop. Upon lowering his arms, then fell limp to his sides, "Z-Zangoose, you're still standing!" Weiss said with a smile, then pointed, "Now, hit it back harder with Revenge!"
"Zan." Zangoose spoke with his eyes barely open, struggling to lift his left arm, "Zangoose…" He said before the arm glowed with a light blue aura, then took a step towards Regirock. Both Brandon and the rock peak Pokemon watched as Zangoose took a few more steps. However, the next step resulted in the cat ferret Pokemon falling forwards, "Zan…" he said before hitting the ground, lying unconscious with the aura on his arm fading.
"Zangoose!" Weiss called out before falling to her knees, "W-we lost."
"We never stood a chance," Blake said before recalling Shedinja, then looked down at the ball, "I'm so sorry."
Brandon then recalled his Regirock, "The two of you are still young. You have some decent combat knowledge, but as Pokemon trainers, you still have a long way to go." He then saw Weiss grit her teeth again but noticed a look of remorse in the white heiress' eyes before recalling Zangoose, "I will have your Pokemon healed before we land. Afterwards, that is when we part way-"
"Hold it!" Hilda interrupted, causing the others to turn towards her in confusion, "This isn't over yet." The hothead trainer said before pointing at Brandon, "I challenge you to a Pokemon battle." She said before grinning, "Double or nothing. You win, we all leave. I win, you help them out."
"…" Brandon scowled back, "If I win, you will also pay for the damages to my facility." He said before crossing his arms, "I was planning to let that slide before, but since you are being so impulsive, I think you should learn about consequences."
"Fine, I'll pay up if I lose," Hilda responded before putting her hands on her hips, "But that's not going to happen."
"Hilda, you don't have to do this." Blake offered, "He's too strong."
"Yeah, you saw those Pokemon." Weiss added on, "You even said their legendary."
"I know." Hilda responded to them before looking back to her opponent, "For this battle, let us stick to three-on-three. However, let's play this Unova-style and make it a triple battle?"
"A triple battle," Brandon said before grinning, "You wish to take on all three of my Regis at once?" He said with Hilda grinning back, "Very well, I accept these terms of battle."
"Cool." Hilda said before looking back to Blake and Weiss, "Now, sit back and take notes." She said with a wink and smile.
"But-" Weiss said but she and Blake slightly gasped. As Hilda returned her gaze to the battlefield, the look in her eyes changed. She radiated a different aura than the hotheaded trainer normally had. Hilda stared down the Frontier Brain with an unflinching gaze. Weiss remained silent as she turned to Blake. The two walked to the bench to watch the battle.
"Regirock, Regice, Registeel. I need your assistance!" Brandon said before tossing out three pokeballs at once. Emerging were the Rock Peak Pokemon, the Iceberg Pokemon, and the Iron Pokemon in a line, "Now, how will you deal with this obstacle?"
"Like this," Hilda said before taking out three pokeballs, "Emboar, Seismitoad, Durant. I'm counting on you!" emerging from her pokeballs were the mega-fire pig Pokemon, the blue toad Pokemon, and an iron ant Pokemon. All three let out a battle cry towards the Regies, "Let's get started. Seismitoad, use Muddy Water." Hilda said with the blue toad Pokemon's bulbous orbs vibrating. Suddenly, the ground opened up as a wave of brown water head right for the Regis.
"Regice, Ice Beam," Brandon ordered with his arms crossed, causing the iceberg Pokemon to unleash the chilling laser. Upon contact, the muddy wave was frozen solid in the middle of the arena. The Frontier Brain scowled, but then saw something atop the frozen wave. Emboar had climbed the obstacle and jumped high in the air.
"Use Heat Crash on Regice!" Hilda ordered with the mega-fire pig Pokemon engulfing itself in flames.
"Regirock hit Emboar out of the air with Hyper Beam," Brandon ordered, causing the rock peak Pokemon to raise both its arms. Orangish energy gathered between them as it was about to be unleashed. However, Regirock's stance flattered with its right leg sinking into the ground. At that moment, the Hyper Beam fired and missed Emboar. It instead obliterated the frozen muddy wave. At that moment, the mega-fire pig Pokemon rammed into Regice with his blazing body, "What?" Brandon responded, uncrossing his arms. He looked to Regirock's feet, seeing a small hole that had been dug. Suddenly, Durant launched out of the hole and bashed into Regirock's head, causing Brandon to gasp.
"The wave provided the cover, and Emboar was the distraction." Hilda commented before pointing, "Seismitoad, go for a Drain Punch on the Registeel." She said with the blue toad Pokemon rushing through the broken bits of the frozen muddy wave. Registeel barely had time to turn before Seismitoad punched it right in the doted eyes, sending it flying backward.
Weiss watched on with her mouth in a gasp, "I-I don't believe it." She commented, seeing all the Regies on their backs, "We couldn't even hurt those things, and she just knocked all three of them down."
Blake was in shock as well, but saw all three Regis start to stand up, "It's still not over yet."
Hilda watched as the rock peak pokemon's eyes were flickering, "Regirock is still recharging. Seismitoad, use Hypro pump." She said with the blue toad Pokemon inhaling, "Emboar, Hammer Arm." Hilda said with the mega-fire pig Pokemon rushing it, it's right arm glowing with an orange aura.
"Regice, intercept Emboar with Focus Punch. Then, Ice Beam." Brandon ordered, causing the iceberg Pokemon to rush in with a glowing right pillar arm. The fist collided as both Pokemon were locked in a stalemate. However, the mega-fire pig Pokemon as gasped as a chilling beam was fired from the Iceberg pokemon's other arms.
"Emboar!" Hilda called out before her Pokemon was encased in ice.
"Registeel, defend Regirock," Brandon said with the iron Pokemon stood in front of the rock peak Pokemon. Seismitoad unleashed a powerful stream of water from his mouth, but the water did barely any damage to Registeel. "Now, use Lock-On towards Durant." The Frontier Brain said with the iron Pokemon extending his arms, unleashing a red pulse wave that targeted the iron ant Pokemon, "Zap Cannon." He said as Registeel unleashed the green electric orb.
However, Hilda grinned, "Durant, use Dig." She said with the iron ant Pokemon burrowing in the ground, "Seismitoad, block the hole with your body." Hilda said with the blue toad Pokemon standing over Durant's pit. The zap cannon then collided with Seismitoad's body, but the electricity dissipated with the vibrations of the bulbous pods. Suddenly, Durant erupted from the ground in front of Regirock, crashing his mandibles into hits stone head again.
"I see, you avoided the Lock-On by funneling where the attack would go and then blocked Zap Cannon with a ground type." Brandon commented, but saw the rock peak Pokemon's dotted eyes focused, "Regirock, Stone Edge." He said with his arms crossed. The rocking peak Pokemon then hit the ground with his stone arms, causing jagged rocks to erupt from the ground under Durant, launching the iron ant Pokemon into the air, "Now, use Shockwave." He said with Regirock holding his arms out, unleashing a blue beam of static.
"Seismitoad, jump and block it," Hilda said with the blue toad Pokemon leaping into the air in front of the beam. However, the beam curved around Seismitoad to hit Durant.
"But how did that still hit?" Weiss said, "He didn't use Lock-On."
"That must be a move that never misses," Blake commented, remembering something similar happening in her gym battle.
"Okay then, try this." Hilda responded, "Seismitoad, grab Durant and throw him at Regirock as hard as you can." She said with the blue toad Pokemon grabbing the iron ant Pokemon, then reeled back his arm to toss Durant with the speed of a bullet, "Durant, use Iron Head." she said with the projectile iron ant Pokemon coated in a silver aura.
"Registeel, intercept with your own Iron Head," Brandon ordered with the iron Pokemon leaping into the aura, radiating a similar aura. Registeel and Durant collided in the air, causing a metallic sound to ring through the whole arena. Both Pokemon landed back on the ground, followed by Seismitoad, "You seem to be very adaptable under pressure."
"I like to think so," Hilda responded with a grin.
"Now, let's see how you deal with this." Brandon responded, "Registeel, Regirock, and Regice. All of you, use Lock-On." The Frontier Brain said with Hilda gasping. Suddenly, each of the Regis raise their arms and unleashed the red pulse wave. Each one converged onto Durant's head, "Zap Cannon, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam."
"Durant use Dig. Seismitoad, block the hole." Hilda ordered with both Pokemon repeating the strategy. However, while Registeel was still charging the electric orb, Regirock unleashed the devasting beam. The hyper beam collided with Seismitoad's Pokemon, painfully pushing away the blue toad Pokemon away from the hole. Right afterward, the iron Pokemon launched the zap cannon, which dove into the hole. After a moment of silence, the ground erupted with Durant being launched out of the hold. While he was still sparking in the air, the iron ant Pokemon saw the chilling beam collided with his body. Hilda gasped as her Pokemon hit the ground encased in the ice, his eyes swirling in unconsciousness.
"With that, you're down one Pokemon," Brandon commented as Hilda recalled Durant. However, they then heard the ice cracking sound. In turning, the encased Emboar erupted from his frozen prison with the flaming beard ablaze.
"Then, I guess it's your turn." Hilda said with a focused gaze, "Emboar, use Rollout!" she said with the mega-fire pig Pokemon coiling his body into a ball and bowling towards the iceberg Pokemon.
"Regice, Charge Beam," Brandon called out with his Pokemon unleashing a yellow beam of electricity. The beam slowed down Emboar's motion but did not stop the mega-fire pig Pokemon from colliding with its target.
"Nice, now Hammer Arm!" Hilda called out with a right punch. With the momentum of the rollout, Emboar uncoiled to swing his right arm into the top of Regice's body. The iceberg Pokemon skidded back, passing Brandon before slamming into the wall and falling forward. The Frontier Brain gasped, but his Pokemon did not respond. He then gritted his teeth before recalling the Pokemon to its Pokeball, "We're all tied up now." Hilda said with Brandon turning back to her, "Now Emboar, time for Regirock. Quick, while it's still recharging, use Hammer Arm." She said with the mega-fire pig Pokemon charging in.
"Registeel, intercept with Iron Head," Brandon ordered with the iron Pokemon rushing in with his body in the silver aura.
"Seismitoad, intercept the interception with Drain Punch!" Hilda called out with the blue toad Pokemon rushing in, punching the iron Pokemon into the dotted eyes. The collision locked the two Pokemon in a stalemate, while Emboar still rushed in.
Blake watched as a small amount of Registeel aura started to flow into Seismitoad's punching arm, "What's going on?"
Weiss watched as some of the marks caused by the hyper beam were starting to heal, "Seismitoad is recovering now." She answered, causing Hilda to grin.
However, Brandon grinned as well. "Registeel, Explosion." He called out with Hilda gasping. The iron Pokemon then extends its arms to grab Seismitoad's body, preventing him from escaping. The dotted eyes flashed red, then rapidly flashed while Registeel's body glowed brightly. Suddenly, the iron Pokemon detonated in a massive blast of superheated energy. The explosion ran through the whole arena. While Hilda, Weiss, and Blake shielded their eyes from the attack, Brandon stood with his arms crossed.
As the smoke settled, the iron Pokemon was laying on its back, the dotted lights barely blinking. Emboar was forced to a halt from the shockwave but still stood on one knee. Hilda let out a sigh, but then looked to the center of the detonation. In a small crater, Seismitoad laid on his right side, his eyes swirling while letting out a faint croak. As the last of the smoke cleared, Regirock started to stand, barely taking damage from the explosion, and now having recharged.
"It's one on one," Weiss said as Brandon recalled Registeel.
"It all comes down to this," Blake said as Hilda recalled Seismitoad.
Both Hilda and Brandon focused in on each other, a matching stare down met by Emboar and Regirock. "Go, use Rollout," Hilda ordered with the mega-fire pig Pokemon coiling his body and charging into battle.
"Regirock, Stone Edge." Brandon countered, causing the rock peak Pokemon to plunge its arms into the ground. The jagged rocks then hit Emboar and painfully sent him into the air with his body uncoiled.
"Heat Crash!" Hilda said with Emboar engulfing his body in flames, then ramming into Regirock's. The mega-fire pig Pokemon pushed back the rock peak pokemon's stone body with the hot temperature.
"Regirock, Superpower," Brandon said with his pokemon's body radiating a red aura. It then hugged its stone arms around Emboar's, causing the mega-fire pig Pokemon to scream in agony.
"Fight back with Hammer Arm!" Hilda called out, causing Emboar to push out of Regirock's grasp. Both of the mega-fire pig Pokemon's arms glowed orange before he started to swing then into Regirock's body, each strike cracking the stone more and more.
"Regirock, don't give in!" Brandon responded, uncrossing his arms as he clenched his right fist. Suddenly, Regirock's dotted eyes flashed white before he swings his arms in the red aura. The rock fist collided with Emboar's face, smashing the pig nose. The mega-fire pig Pokemon responded with a hammer arm upside the rock peak pokemon's head. Swing after swing, hit after hit, brutal blow after brutal blow. Each Pokemon fought with every ounce of strength they had left. At the same moment, both unleashed a hit that knocked the other back a few meters, then staggered while trying to stand, "Let's finish this. Regirock, Hyper Beam!" he said with the rock peak Pokemon gathering the energy in between its arms, which still glowed with the red aura.
"Emboar, it's time." Hilda called out, "Use Blast Burn!" she said with the mega-fire pig Pokemon's eyes glowing a vibrant red. Suddenly, his body erupted with frames, melting the ground he stood on into magma. Emboar raised both of its arms, which were encased in a white-hot flame. He swung them towards the ground just as Regirock fired its hyper beam. The destruction blast collided with the mega-fire pig Pokemon with a massive smoke cloud formed. Regirock lowered its arms, but the rock peak Pokemon looked down to see smoke from the dirt. Suddenly, a pillar of fire erupted and encased Regirock in flames. The whole arena floor before to erupt these pillars of fire, causing Weiss and Blake to hold onto their seats in fear of the entire Battle Pyramid about to fall.
After a few more seconds of chaos, the fires started to die down with the smoke. Weiss and Blake looked to where Regirock was standing, the tannish rocks now scorched black. The dotted eyes flicked before going vacant. Slowly, the rock peak Pokemon fell forward, lying unconscious on the ground.
"S-she did it!?" Weiss said with a smile forming, "Hilda won!"
Blake started to smile too, but then looked over to the place that Emboar was. As the smoke finally cleared, the mega-fire pig Pokemon was laying on his stomach, his eye swirling, "Wait, Emboar fainted too?"
"Huh?" Weiss commented, "But, who fainted first then?"
"I dunno." Hilda said while recalling her Pokemon, then turn to the other, "I couldn't really tell with all that smoke." She then looked back to Brandon with a smirk, "I guess that makes this is a draw."
"It would appear so," Brandon said while recalling his final Regi to its Pokeball.
"Well, what does that mean?" Weiss asked, turning to the frontier brain, "Will you help us?"
"Nooooooo!" Brandon shouted out, but then sighed, "However, I do know of a more favorable offer for you three." He said with them approaching him, "Rather than dropping you off right away, I will do so in the region I am heading towards."
"Which region?" Blake asked.
"Galar," Brandon responded, "More specifically, an area called the Crown Tundra."
"Oh, that place is very hard to get into," Hilda responded before Brandon continued.
"It is home to many strong Pokemon, ones that could help you if you plan to still challenge the Pokemon league gyms across the world." He said looking to Blake and Weiss, "As well, I'll allow you access to my library to research for information about your world while I am doing my own on-sight research."
Hilda then turned to towards the two, "The Pokemon there are supposably pretty strong, but if you catch them, the rest of the gyms could go a lot smoother."
Weiss and Blake then turned to each, each giving the other a smile before turning back to the Frontier Brain, "We accept these terms." Weiss said with Blake nodding.
"Good, now if you will excuse me," Brandon said before turning around, "I have to go and fix that glass skylight." He said before walking away.
"Well, I guess I don't have to pay for that either." Hilda commented, "Good thing too, I'm flat broke."
"Thank you again for stepping in like that." Blake said with a smile, "You have no idea how much this means for us."
"No worries," Hilda said with a smile, "It's what friends do."
"That was still amazing," Weiss pointed out, "You're Pokemon were able to beat legendary ones and push that guy to a draw."
"Well, I like to think so." Hilda responded, scratching the back of her head, "But, part of me thinks he wasn't putting everything into that fight, otherwise he probably would have won." She said with Blake and Weiss looking at her in confusion, "I think he really wanted to help you find a way back home, but he first wanted to show you how different things are in this world." The hotheaded trainer then lowered her arms, "I don't know what the two of you are like in your world, but you're in a Pokemon one for now."
"Yeah," Blake responded.
"You're right," Weiss added on, turning back to her teammate, "Things are different, but we need to adapt more than we already have if we want to achieve our goal." She said with Blake nodding back with a smile.
"Sounds great." Hilda said with a single clap, "So, let's heal our Pokemon someplace on this pyramid, head back to that library, then you two can start reading while I take a nap." She then turned around and pointed, "Now, onwards to the Crown Tundra!" the hothead trainer said before walking towards a hallway. Weiss and Blake turned to each other, letting out a slight laugh before following their friend on this adventure.
AN: There you go, Frontier Brain Brandon shows his stuff. He may seem like he contradicts himself, but he does care about people and Pokemon a lot. Weiss and Blake let loose the true, and Hilda is cool with it. She even gets an epic battle after the black and white duo got curb stomped by the Regis. As some people might have guess from the pattern with the other groups, HBW is going to Galar as well, but to the other DLC known as Crown Tundra. In case it is asked, rwby characters will not get a legendary from a max raid adventure. (Side note, in me playing this DLC and that mode, I got a first try shiny Giratina that made me super happy). So, when I come back to this series, expect a lot of Galar for our heroes to go through. As for when that will be, I do plan to work on my other stories for a while before coming back here. I don't want to give a concreate date, but be on the lookout here in May of next year. That is all for now, thanks for reading, and hope to see you in the next chapter.
