Sorry I haven't been posting as much for this story. I am not as motivated to write this story as I am for my other one. Please bear with me, I promise I will continue writing this story until I feel it is complete (not anytime soon lol). Reading your comments is always a great motivation for me! Chapter 8

Steve noticed that Catherine was spending a long time in the bathroom.

*knock knock*

"Cath, are you okay?"

"Yea, it's just that my period is late."

"Can I come inside?"

Catherine opened the door for Steve and he closed the door behind him.

"Steve my period is never late."

"Do you think you are pregnant?"

"No, we are too old and maybe it's because of all the stress recently. You know moving back to Hawaii, intruding your routine, going back to the task force, etc."

Catherine was looking at herself in the mirror thinking about the past month and how much stuff she still has to do. Steve wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and kissed her on her head.

"I'm sorry you're so stressed out, but I want you to know that you were never intruding on my daily routine. I am happy to have you back and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us."

Catherine has been throwing up for a while and everyone is concerned about her.

"Mommmm, are you okay?"

"Yes honey, I'm just in the bathroom throwing up."

"Mom, you've been like that for weeks now, I think we should take you to the doctors, I'll go tell Steve."

"It's okay sweetie, I'll be okay."

"Mom, are you sick sick or "sick"?"

"Sweetie, what do you mean by "sick"?"

"Mom, are you pregnant? You haven't been feeling well for this whole month, I'm worried about you."

"Shh baby, don't say it so loud, I think Steve and I are too old to have a baby, but I haven't gotten my period in 2 months."

"Omg mom, I hope you are pregnant, I want another sibling, John is cool, but a baby! You know how I love little kids, so I'll always be there to help you, mom!"

"Aww thank you sweetie, but you know I'm not sure if I am. It could be because I'm so old and starting to go through menopause. You know what, how about we all go out for lunch together and after we can go shopping. Please tell John to get ready and change."

Catherine drove them to Kamekona's for lunch then she drove them to the mall. Caroline wanted to go shopping so John got dragged into shopping with her.

"You two don't spend too much money and get into trouble. I'll text Caroline when I'm done."

"Got it, mom!"

Catherine walked to the drug store and went to the pregnancy tests, there were so many options to choose from and she wasn't sure if she wanted to get two to make sure.

"I guess these two should be good."

She bought them then walked to Target to look at the baby clothes.

"I hope there is one inside me, it would be an amazing surprise."

Catherine bought a board with letters, baby shoes, and a newborn onesie that's said: "hi daddy". Although she wasn't sure if she was pregnant, she thought she should just be optimistic. She texted Caroline and told them to meet her at the car.

"John and Caroline, why do you have so many bags?"

"Well there was a sale and we kinda got lost in the moment."

"You two think so much alike, just make sure your dad doesn't see how much money you spent!"

Caroline and John looked at each other and just smiled at Catherine's comment.

"Come on love birds get in the car."

Catherine's comment snapped them out of their little world and they gave each other a look. A look similar to what Steve and Catherine do.

"Okay, mom."

They went home and brought everything inside the house. Catherine went to the bathroom and took the pregnancy test. Steve knocked on the bathroom door.

"Baby, hurry up! I want to kiss you and hold you in my arms."

Catherine didn't want Steve to find out that she was taking a test so she put the test and box in a drawer Steve never touches. Catherine opened the door.

"Hey baby, I missed you all day! I'm glad you got the day off!"

"Mmm sailor, I missed you, so what did you say about holding and kissing me?"

They kissed and went downstairs together. All Catherine could think about was whether she was pregnant or not. Steve brought dinner home and they ate together in the dining room.

"So kids, what did you do today?"

"We went to Kamekona's for lunch then the mall so mom could run errands."

"Did you two buy anything while at the mall?"

"Not dad, Caroline, and I are saving our money."

"Hmm, then why did I see some new things in both of your rooms and you two are being very suspicious."

"Fine dad, there was a sale and we both found good stuff."

After dinner, John and Caroline went to their rooms to get shopping bags.

"Thanks for the shoes, John."

"I should be thanking you for picking mine out."

"Are you sure you can pay for this?"

"Yea, it's no problem… I like them…"

"Of course you do…"

They both put them on and Caroline decided to take a picture of both of their shoes. John hugged Caroline and they both fell on John's bed.

"Hey…."

"What…"

Caroline put her phone on the bed and turned to face John. She poked his nose.

"Why are you so cute?"

"Why are you so cute, Caroline?"

"Do you think they know?"

"I didn't say anything…"

"I hope they don't… yet."

Is Catherine pregnant?

Why does Caroline not want to tell Catherine and Steve?
