The next morning I wake up sore. The bump on top of the car was a lot harder than I thought and now I'm feeling it. I groan as I slowly start to get up, trying to not wake Colby in the process, but I'm louder than I thought. I try to roll over but I just don't want to move. I finally get enough strength to roll over onto my back and I sigh. I turn my head to find Colby watching me cautiously. "Hi." I whisper.
"Hi."
"How was your night last night?" I ask. He ended up going out with the guys to celebrate his win.
"Good, you should have come."
"I would've been no fun, I was out as soon as you left."
"Are you okay?" He asks concerned.
"Other than incredibly sore, I'm fine."
"Where?"
"My back."
"Turn onto your stomach."
I do as he says and slowly turn back onto my stomach. Colby frowns slightly as I sink further into the pillow. He pulls up my shirt and gasps. "Babe."
He starts to feel around the bruises to get some blood flowing. "Ouch." I hiss. "How bad?"
"You're bruised quite well, why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't think it was that bad, I was asleep by the time the adrenaline left my body."
"Babe you need to be more careful."
I turn to face him. "I know, but I really thought I would be fine, and I've been through worse, it'll be fine in a couple days."
"I don't want you taking bumps tonight."
"I'll see what doc says, but could you maybe use those magical hands of yours and help me?"
He smirks. "This won't cure you but I'll massage and put some cream on you to try and help with the muscles and blood flow."
"You're the best."
"I know." He grins.
Once he's finished massaging me we start to get ready for the day. We have Raw tonight and then we are heading to Seattle to for my trial. We retrieve Anna on our way to the arena. "How are you feeling?" Anna asks.
"Pretty sore, but it's worth it." I respond.
"You've got to look after yourself more."
"I know."
"Do you know what your schedule is like this week?"
"Tomorrow we fly to Seattle and get prepared for the trial."
"Who's going?"
"Colby, Stephanie and Paul, Nicole, April, Nattie, and a couple others that were around the time of my accident and when he found us in Vegas." I respond. "Everyone flies in after the taping tomorrow."
"You nervous about it?"
"No. I have the best attorney and he has no defence for himself, he won't get away with what he has done."
"How about we not talk about this right now?" Colby suggests from the drivers seat.
I reach for his hand and squeeze it. "That's fine with me."
We arrive at the arena and I head straight to our weekly meeting. Colby and I walk into Paul's office and find Jon, Paul, Stephanie, Vince, Mark, Jane, April and Saraya. "Morning." I greet Saraya and April.
"Hey how's the back?" April asks.
"Bruised but I'll be alright." I respond.
"Thanks for coming in everyone. Let's go over tonight." Paul begins. "The show is going to start with The Authority recapping last night." He continues. "Dean will then come out and have a war of words." He adds. "This will then escalate into a program with Seth and Dean right through to Summerslam."
"Now ladies, since your match last night was brutal none of you are going to be in action tonight." Stephanie addresses us three. "Later in the show, Sarah will be in the ring recapping her night, and she'll be interrupted by AJ, which will then be announcing the match for Battleground, AJ v Sarah for the title."
"Paige is going to be taking a break from the title picture and after Battleground she'll be going into a feud with AJ." Vince finishes.
"What will I be doing in that time?" Saraya asks.
"You'll have matches with other divas as I want you to rest. You've had some brutal matches lately, so I want you to recover, so by the time you your feud with AJ starts you'll be fresh." Vince answers.
"What's the plan for after battleground?" I ask.
"We are still organising it but you're going to be going into a feud with the Bellas." Paul announces.
My eyes go wide. "Really?"
"Yes." He confirms.
"Can you enlighten me?"
"No, it's still in the early stages so you'll have to wait, until then focus on Battleground." Stephanie responds.
After we are given the schedule Saraya, April and I head back to the locker room. "What are you thinking?" I ask Saraya.
"I just hope I don't get forgotten." She responds.
"Love, no one could forget you, and you won't let them." I assure. "Don't worry about it, you'll be seen a lot and don't forget you're young and you're going to be here for a long time."
She smiles. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it."
"So how's the back, you said it's sore?" April asks.
"I'm bruised quite bad but I'll be okay. How was your night celebrating last night?"
"Good we missed you there." Saraya answers.
"Next time."
An hour later I'm ready for the show. I am wearing a black bandage two piece set: an off the shoulder long sleeved crop top and a midi bandage skirt with rose gold heels. My hair is in lose curls and to finish it off I've gone for a shimmery smokey eye and large lashes and red lip. I am also taped up with some white bandages to help ease the discomfort in my back and ribs.
I take a look in the mirror and smile. "You look gorgeous." Nikki compliments walking up behind me.
I smile. "Thanks love."
"I hear we are going to be in a storyline soon."
"We are."
"I'm excited to work with you."
"Me too Nikki." I agree. "We're going to kill it and you're going to show all the haters and doubters that you can work in the ring with the best of them."
I'm called to gorilla as its time for the show to start. I find everyone else and see Coby talking to Glen and Jon. Steph sees me approaching. "There she is, we we're just coming to find you." She alerts.
"Hi Steph." I greet.
"How are you feeling from last night I didn't get to ask you this morning?"
"I'm a little sore but I'm good. I'm taped up just to be sure, but it's good that after tonight ill have the week off to rest up as much as I can."
"You're flying out tonight?"
"Tomorrow morning." I confirm.
Colby turns around and takes in my appearance and smirks. "I'll give you two a moment." Stephanie smiles leaving us.
"Hi." I greet.
"You look beautiful." He compliments.
"Thank you and might I say I'm loving you in suits these days."
He grins. "You do aye"
"I sure do."
We hear the countdown and cover our ears as the pyro goes off. The Authorities music hits and we all walk out.
The arena erupts into boos as all of The Authority walk out and the crowd are on their feet. "Please welcome, The Authority." Lillian announces.
We all stand at the top of the ramp with smiles on our faces. "What a way to start off the show with The Authority, don't they all look great?" JBL compliments.
The crowd boo thunderously as we stand there smirking. Hunter and Stephanie are front and centre, Kane is to the right of them. Seth and I are standing close to them on the left and Randy is standing behind us.
We continue to walk down the ramp and slowly get in the ring. "It looks like Sarah is a little beat up." Cole notices.
"She was in one a hell of a match last night and as always she proved to everyone that she is the best." JBL responds.
We settle in the ring and grab mikes as the music dies and the boos get louder. Hunter and Steph share a look and start laughing. "Welcome everybody to Monday night Raw." Stephanie opens and the crowd let out a loud reaction. "Last night was another historic Money in the Bank and we saw some great matches but two stole the show."
The crowd give a loud mixed reaction as the cameras pan to Seth and I and they instantly start booing. We both crack up laughing as we share a look. "And I think everyone here knows who we are talking about." Triple h chuckles stepping upto Seth and I. "Seth, Sarah, last night you showed each and everyone of these people that you're as good as you say. And its only up from here."
We thank him smiling as the crowd boo. Seth steps up and the crowd let out a chorus of boos. "Thank you Hunter, you're right, last night we both demonstrated what we'be been saying the whole time, that we are the best at what we do, and no one can stand in our way." Seth states. "And now that I have this briefcase the future is mine."
The crowd boos loudly and begin to chant. "You sold out, you sold out, you sold out."
"Oh get over it." Seth yells out and I pat him on the back. "But last night wasn't just about me putting my name in the history books, it was about another person that proved to each and everyone of you that she is the best at what she does." He expresses and turns to face me. "Sarah I want to be the first person to congratulate you on yet another incredible performance last night."
I smile as the crowd boo loudly. My smile drops as the boos get louder and they start to chant. "You sold out, you sold out."
Seth whispers in my ear and I chuckle. "You're right Seth these jealous low life Philly losers are incredibly ignorant." The crowd boo even more loudly as the whole Authority laugh. "I don't like to brag so I'm just going to show you." I raise my title above my head as the crowd give a loud mixed reaction and I grin proudly. I'm about to speak but Dean Ambrose's music blasts and the arena erupts onto their feet. "You've got to be kidding me."
"Sarah doesn't like that Dean Ambrose just interrupted her." Cole notices.
"How dare that man." JBL scolds.
All The Authority glares towards the ramp as Dean walks out smirking and the crowd get louder. "I don't know about you guys but I couldn't take anymore of that crap." Dean addresses and the crowd cheer in agreement.
"The only crap out here is you Ambrose." Seth retorts and the crowd boos.
Dean begins to laugh. "Wow Seth is that all you can come up with. I think spending so much time with The Authority and your plastic girlfriend you've lost some sense."
The crowd cheer loudly. "How dare you. How dare you call me that." I shriek.
Stephanie calms me down as Hunter and Seth glare at Dean. "Ambrose if you talk to her like that one more time." Seth threatens.
"What, what are you going to do? Send big Kane after me, like you did last night." Dean interrupts and the crowd laugh.
Seth goes to respond but Stephanie stops him. "You know what Ambrose, it seems like you don't know when to stop. Before you rudely interrupted us, I was going to announce several matches for tonight but you know what, that match that we had for you is going to change, instead of versing one person you are going to verse Kane and Seth in a two on one handicap match." Stephanie announces and the crowd boo loudly.
Seth and I laugh loudly as Dean glares. "You know what fine, at least it will allow me to get my hands around the neck of your golden boy." Dean accepts and drops the mike.
"Hey Ambrose." I yell out and he turns to look at me. "If you ever talk to me like that again, you won't have to worry about Seth or Kane, you'd have to answer to me, and trust me I have a dark past waiting to come out and you'd be the perfect victim." I warn and the crowd give a loud mixed reaction as The Authority grins.
An hour later I'm given the call to head to the gorilla. April and I are talking and as we approach the gorilla I look up I and notice Randy watching me intently. April notices this and turns to look in his direction and glares at him. "Hey don't let him get to you." She encourages.
I nod. "I won't it's just he hasn't stopped staring at me since I've been working on screen in The Authority and I don't like it." I confess.
"Maybe talk to Steph about it." April suggests.
"I will. I really want to make this heel turn work, but if this keeps up I'm going to ask to drop it because if he keeps looking at me like that, I'm going to lose it."
"Just don't go anywhere by yourself, we've got your back."
I hug her. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it." She responds.
The match before ours finishes and a minute later the commercial break finishes and my music blasts and the arena boo thunderously as I walk out.
"It looks like Philly get to be in the presence of the Divas Champion twice tonight." Cole addresses.
"And hopefully this time no one interrupts her." JBL responds.
I make my way down the ramp and into the ring and my music dies. The crowd get louder and I mockingly curtsy which gets them even more loud. I bring the mike up to my mouth and the crowd begin to chant. "You sold out, you sold out."
I roll my eyes and look down at my title and smile. "I don't really care that you think I sold out, it doesn't matter, because I get to come out here and show the world how good I am." I state confidently. "I get to go home with the hottest man in the building." I continue and the crowd boo. "And lastly I get to show you irrelevant losers that being the greatest Divas Champion in history, is pretty great." I finish and the crowd boo even more loudly.
"Sarahs attitude as of late has just been disrespectful." Cole scolds.
"How dare you Michael!" JBL defends. "Sarah has a right to speak her mind, these people should be bowing down to her, not booing."
"Last night as you can see, I did what I said I was going to do, I was going to walk into Money in the Bank as champion and walk out as champion and what do you know, I did it." I exclaim and the crowd give a loud mixed reaction. "What's better is that Paige and AJ tried to take me out but they failed at that too." I continue and gesture to the tron. The screen plays Paige and AJ power bombing me onto the car over and over again. The crowd cheer as it happens. "I hate to burst your bubble, but if they couldn't take me out like that then no one ever will." I promise and the crowd continues to boo. "You see I'm bruised and battered, I'm sore all over, but that isn't going to get me to lose what I have fought for my entire life for." I exclaim. "I wasn't going to let that English muffin and smirf take my life's work away from me, even at the cost of my own body, but you know what, you all should be thanking me, because when have you ever seen a diva get bower bombed onto a car?" I ask and the crowd let out a loud reaction. "You haven't! So I think you should all stand up and bow down to me for making this division relevant again." I suggest and raise my arms above my head with my title and they give me a loud mixed reaction.
AJs music blasts and the arena erupts. I huff angrily at being interupted again. "And here comes AJ Lee." Jerry announces.
AJ skips down the ramp and into the ring and the crowd start chanting "CM Punk, cm punk." as her music dies.
"You know what, I'm just going to start off by saying on behalf of everyone here, that you need to shut your mouth." AJ orders and I gasp as the crowd cheer loudly. "You also need to get that stick that's so far up your ass, out, because your ego has got to go." She exclaims. "You need to realise that you never pinned me last night, and thirdly I think it's time for me to do what I needed to do since I've come back and that is end your reign once and for all."
I raise the mike to my mouth and start chuckling. "Oh AJ, my precious smirf, I've missed your crazy ideas. You said that with so much determination and provado it almost makes me want to believe you." I laugh. "I'm sorry AJ but that is never going to happen and especially now." I enforce and the crowd let out a loud mixed reaction. "AJ you've tried your hardest to beat me, but you can't, you just don't know how, you haven't been able to pin me and I hate to break this too you but you're just not on my level." I finish and the arena boos loudly.
"You know what Sarah, I've never wanted to kick your ass so much." She says loudly. "You've underestimated me ever since you arrived here, and those times you've beat me, I wasn't in the right frame of mind, but now that I'm here, and ready to get my title back, I'm going to do anything to get it back, even if that means I have to get a little dirty to do it."
"AJ when are you going to get it through your head that you can't beat me, you can try to be dirty, but I'm always one step ahead of you, each and every move you make I am just one step ahead." I retort. "Each reversal you have, I have one that's better. Every drop kick that you do, I jump a little higher and every move you make I do so much better." I list off and the crowd let out a loud mixed reaction. "But because I can't seem to get rid of you, I'm going to give you one more chance." I offer. "So if you're up for it, I'm giving you one last for a shot at my title, at Battleground, AJ Lee vs Sarah for the Divas Championship." I announce and the crowd cheers in excitement. "What do you say? One last horrah?"
AJ steps up to me and smirks. "I accept."
The crowd cheers loudly in excitement and I smile and raise my title. I push past her and the crowd ooh and boo as I walk out of the ring and walk backwards up the ramp smirking.
"I don't know about you but when Sarah smirks it doesn't end well for whoever is on the receiving end of it." Jerry worries.
"You never know what she is going to do, but I guess we're going to find out in four weeks." Cole finishes.
Once the show has ended, Colby and I meet up in his locker room and head to the hotel with Anna. Tomorrow morning we fly to Seattle to prepare for the trial and I finally get to put away Adam for a good. "Good match tonight." I praise Colby.
"Thanks. The crowd are eating the feud up which is what we want." He responds.
"They are, are you kind of bummed your aren't fighting at battleground or do you prefer to be doing this at Summerslam?"
"The match at Summerslam will be epic it'll be worth it. They are brainstorming stipulations so it should be interesting."
"Do you know who's going to be put over?"
Colby turns to me and grins. "I'm not giving you anything away."
"Please." I pout.
He chuckles. "Sorry."
