Yusei's friends were leading Alex to Crow's hideout when they came across a rope bridge. Alex looked out at the rope bridge in front of them and realized something. "Well, this is a problem," he stated. "What do ya mean?" Rally asked, not seeing the issue. "I don't think this bridge can take the weight of my duel runner. I'll have to find another way around," Alex responded.
"But you can't go by yourself," Blister pointed out. "I'll go with him. I know another way to the bridge," Blitz offered. "You sure Blitz?" Nervin asked. "Yeah, we'll be fine. You guys be careful," Blitz replied. Having settled the matter, Alex and Blitz separated from the group.
"Come on, just follow me," Blitz said as he turned to Alex. "How long will it take us to get there?" Alex asked. "It'll take some time," Blitz responded. "It might be faster if you drove my runner while I ride behind you," Alex offered. "Good idea. You got another helmet?" Blitz asked.
Alex pulled out a spare helmet and handed it to Blitz. He put in on while Alex slid back so that he could drive. Fortunately, since Blitz helped Yusei build his duel runner, he knew how to drive one. "You ready back there?" Blitz asked. "Ready," Alex responded. Ten minutes later at Crow's hideout, Rally, Nervin, Tank, and Blister were waiting for Yusei and the others to show up.
"Do you think something happened to them?" Rally asked. "I'm sure they're fine. Let's just wait," Blister answered. "What if they got caught and we never see them again?" Tank worried. "Are you trying to jinx them?" Nervin asked. Just then, a duel runner could be heard approaching. Rally turned to the side and saw Yusei and Crow coming.
"Hey, there's Yusei and Crow," he pointed out. A large group of kids came out from the surrounding buildings to greet Crow. "Hey Crow, what'd you bring us today?" one of them asked. "Well, I don't have any cards for you kids today, but I have something special for ya," Crow answered.
"What is it?" one of the other kids asked. "May I present Yusei, the new Turbo Duel Champion," Crow said as he gestured to his best friend. All the kids rushed Yusei and started asking for autographs and dueling advice. Crow turned back to the group and noticed Alex and Blitz were gone.
"Hey, where are Alex and Blitz?" he asked. "Alex had to take a different path because of his duel runner, and Blitz went with him," Rally informed. "Well, I'm sure they'll be alright," Crow said before a call came up on the screen of Crow's duel runner. "That must be them," Crow said before he answered the call.
Sure enough, Blitz showed up on the screen. "Crow, we've got a small problem," he informed. "What's wrong?" Crow asked. "Sector Security is blocking the road to the bridge, and if we drive up to them, we might get in trouble. We're gonna have to find another way around," Blitz answered.
"Alright, but be careful," Crow advised. "Right, we'll be back as soon as we can," Blitz promised before the call ended. "Why would Sector Security be blocking the road to the bridge?" Tank asked. "They're probably trying to box Yusei and Crow in," Blister offered. "Yeah. I'm gonna go and figure out what roads are safe for us to use, I'll be back soon," Crow said before he got on his duel runner and drove off.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Blister said to himself once Crow had left. A few hours later, Crow had returned to the hideout, and was currently telling the kids a bedtime story. Alex and Blitz hadn't arrived yet, and everyone was getting worried. "You don't think they got caught by Sector Security?" Rally asked.
"I don't think so. And even if they did, Alex is a citizen of New Domino, and Blitz doesn't have any kind of criminal record, so they should be alright," Yusei assured. Just then, a call came up on Yusei's duel runner. He answered it and saw Blitz on the screen. "Hey Yusei. Things have gotten problematic. Sector Security has blocked off all the roads in town, so we're holed up in the hideout for the night," he informed.
"Alright, be careful," Yusei warned before they ended the call. Soon, everyone was asleep around a campfire. Across town, Blitz and Alex were sleeping in Yusei's hideout, but little did they know that one of Roman's spiders was watching them. "Well, it looks like Alex is separated from Yusei. This is the perfect opportunity to reclaim him," Roman declared.
"So you're going to use your spider to take control of him again?" Devack asked. "Yes and no. I will use my spider to lure him away, but it's clear that we must forcibly turn him to our side," Roman responded. "You mean defeat him in a duel?" Devack asked. "I'll duel him," Kalin offered.
"Are you certain, Kalin?" Roman asked. "Absolutely. He should be able to give me a proper challenge, not to mention he could help me draw out Yusei," Kalin responded. "So be it. Prepare for your duel with the boy," Roman ordered. Back at the hideout, the spider lowered itself from the ceiling onto Alex, making sure not to wake him.
Once it landed on him, it bit him on the back of the neck, putting him under Roman's control again, causing Alex to immediately wake up. "Listen to me Alex, you are to come to the B.A.D. Area. Follow the roads out of town," Roman ordered telepathically. "Yes, Roman," Alex responded.
He walked outside and got on his duel runner, the noise from it startling Blitz awake, who ran out just in time to see Alex driving away. "Alex, come back!" he shouted, but Alex didn't respond and continued driving. "It looks like he's headed to the B.A.D. Area, but why would he go there?" he asked himself before he rushed to the computer and called Yusei.
"Alex has gone where?!" Yusei asked once Blitz told him Alex left. "He took off for the B.A.D. Area. I yelled at him to stop, but he kept going," Blitz responded. "Crow, wake up! Alex has gone to the B.A.D. Area!" Yusei shouted as he ran to his duel runner. "Say what?!" Crow asked as he scrambled up.
"Come on, we've gotta get there before Alex gets hurt!" Yusei said as he mounted his duel runner, unaware his shouting had woken everyone up. "Crow, what's going on?" Blister asked as he stepped outside. "Alex has gone to the B.A.D. Area. Yusei and I are going after him, you guys stay here!" Crow said before he and Yusei drove off.
"The B.A.D. Area? Why would Alex go there?" Rally asked. "I don't know. I just hope Yusei and Crow get there before something happens to him," Blister responded. Meanwhile, Alex had just arrived at the B.A.D. Area and was released from Roman's control.
"Where am I? Wasn't I just in Yusei's hideout?" he asked himself as he tried to figure out what happened. "Welcome back Alex," a voice said from off to the side. Alex looked in the direction the voice came from and saw Kalin sitting on a duel runner at the top of a pile of junk.
"You! What did you do with Blitz?" Alex asked. "He's just fine. You should be worried about yourself," Kalin advised as he raised his arm, revealing his Dark Singer Mark, which glowed purple before lines of fire sprung up, creating a turbo duel track in the shape of his mark.
"What's going on?" Alex asked. "Quite simple. You and I are going to duel," Kalin informed. "I guess I don't have a choice. Fine, I'll duel you, and I'll win!' Alex shouted. "Big words little man, but let's see you back them up with action!" Kalin replied before he tossed his cloak aside, revving up his duel runner and jumping into the track.
"Nice entrance," Alex said sarcastically. "Flattery won't get you out of this mess," Kalin responded. "Well, why don't we get started?" Alex asked. "Soon. There's a special guest I'm waiting for," Kalin replied. "Special guest? Who's he talking about?" Alex thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Yusei and Crow saw the outline of Kalin's mark in the sky. "Crow, do you see that?" Yusei asked. "Yeah, and it doesn't look good," his friend responded. "Well, it's even worse. It looks like that symbol is over top of the B.A.D. Area," Yusei pointed out. "We'd better get there fast!" Crow said before they kicked their duel runners into high gear and made tracks for the B.A.D. Area.
Meanwhile in the city, Jack's, Luna's, and Akiza's marks all started glowing as well. "What on Earth is this about?" Jack asked himself. "Luna, turn off the nightlight," Leo said before he looked at his sister and noticed her Signer Mark was glowing. "Alex is in danger," Luna said, worried about her friend.
"My sign, it's warning me. Another battle is about to begin. I just hope whoever is about to fight is ready," Akiza said to herself. Across town, Jack put his hand over his mark. "Yusei, what mess have you gotten yourself into now?" he asked himself before the phone rang. He picked it up and heard Mina's voice on the other line.
"Jack, a shadow duel is about to start in the Satellite. I'm waiting outside," she said. "What do you mean 'waiting outside'?" Jack asked. He got an answer when a helicopter pulled up next to the window of his and Carly's hotel room. He and Carly quickly changed clothes and boarded the helicopter.
"Mina, do you know who's dueling?" Jack asked. "That boy Alex from the tournament is about to duel against a Dark Signer," Mina informed. "What? I thought they would go after Yusei. Why are they targeting Alex?" Jack asked. "I don't know, all I do know is that he's in danger," Mina informed.
Meanwhile in the Satellite, Yusei and Crow had arrived at the geoglyph. "This is like when I dueled Alex, but it seems like it's been expanded to a turbo duel track," Yusei said. "So glad you could make it, Yusei!" Kalin shouted. "Wait, I know that voice," Yusei thought to himself.
He looked in the direction of the voice and saw Alex and someone else sitting on their duel runners inside the track. Yusei and Crow got closer to them, and when they got a clear view of them, they couldn't believe who Alex was facing. "Kalin Kessler?" Yusei asked in disbelief.
"We thought when you left the Satellite, it was forever," Crow added. "That's right, but thanks to you and that mark of yours, Kalin is back!" the Dark Signer responded. "Let Alex go, Kalin. This is between you and me," Yusei demanded. "No can do, Yusei. You see, Roman wants Alex back, and I wanna see for myself just how good he is. But I'll gladly duel you next," Kalin offered.
"Kalin, you have to stop this. You were once our friend," Yusei reminded. "Once your friend yes, but now, your enemy! After what you did to me, this is sweet justice dear old friend. You destroyed my life, so I'll destroy your home and everyone you care about. Now Alex, you'd better get ready for the duel of your life! Hahahahahahaha!" Kalin cackled.
