AN: Hey everyone, I have the next chapter here. This one has the penultimate battle for Ruby's third gym badge. I do have to say, this one was a blast to write and showcase all the skills each side brings to the table. Before that, we have Roman talking with Anabel, which will bring up one of the biggest twists in this storyline. Make sure to read to the end, because you may learn about someone else who's in this world. Hope you enjoy this chapter, leave a review with your comments and questions, and have a nice day.

Chapter 34 – Shocking Revelation
In a Lumiose Bar, Anabel and Roman sat at the counter. The bartender places a scotch for the orange-haired criminal and a glass of red wine for the Pokemon detective, "Leave booth bottles." Roman said while paying the bartender, who nodded before taking the money and leaving the two to their drinks, "So, where are they?" Roman asked before taking a sip of his scotch.
"I don't know for certain, but I am assuming they are in the Pokemon World League," Anabel responded, reaching into her suit to pull out a few photos. Roman examined them to be profile pictures of Neo, Weiss, Blake, and Yang,
"Huh, I know why three out of four would do it." Roman commented, but his eyes focused on the mute girl, "But Neo, why are you in this thing as well?" He then turned back to Anabel, "How do we get in contact with them?"
"At the moment, there is no way to do so without letting the league committee know more than I think you want them too." Anabel answered, "League participates cannot be contacted directly until they have acquired all four badges. Right now, they each have two badges." She then took a sip of her wine.
"It always has to be something," Roman said under his breath before taking another sip of his drink, "So, if we want to find them, then they need to get all four badges for the league at the same time Red does." He thought before sighing, "At least it seems like they are going at the same rate as us." The orange-haired criminal then looked back to Anabel, "So, is that the end of our contract?"
"Not yet," Anabel responded, then took a sip of her wine, "In doing some digging of those four, Looker found nothing. It was almost as if they didn't exist until you mentioned them to him." She said before looking back to Roman, "Or, that all of you aren't from this world."
"…" Roman glared before smirking, "I think you must be a lightweight, you already sound drunk." Roman said with a chuckle, then took a sip after his next sentence, "Why would you say something so crazy?"
"Because I'm also from Remnant." Anabel said with Roman spitting out his scotch in shock, "That's where you're all from as well, isn't it?"
Roman coughed before wiping his mouth, "You…how?"
"It was a long time ago," Anabel responded, looking down at the reflection of herself in the glass, "I was running home from the bookstore when my town was invaded by Grimm. My parents were already attacked by Beowolves, and I was next on their hunt." She said before letting out a sigh, "Needless to say, I was not able to get away safely. I don't remember much from then, but when I work up, I was in this world instead. All I had were too many questions and a book with no answers, only fairytales."
"…" Roman did not say a word in response.
"You already know this world is not the same as Remnant," Anabel continued, "But I adjusted, I had to survive this time." She said with Roman noticing one of her fists tighten at her side, but then saw it lighten as she smiled, "The Pokemon here, they're a lot nicer than Grimm were to me. I was able to befriend so many of them, battle with them to achieve ranks I only dreamed of as a kid." She said before looking back at the wine glass, "I guess you could say I got to the equivalent of an elite huntress by Remanent standards."
"Go for you." Roman responded in a deadpan voice before taking another sip of his drink, then recalling his first encounter upon arrival, "How did you deal with the new breed of monsters when you got here alone."
"Well, I have an ability that helps me comminate with them." Anabel responded, "Think of it as a semblance."
"You kept yours when you came to this world!?" Roman asked.
"More like it only unlocked when I arrived." Anabel responded, "Between worlds, not all rules are the same for what can and cannot exist. You lose some abilities but can gain others in the process that you never knew you had."
"Heh, good to know." Roman responded, taking another sip, "Have you ever tried to go back?"
"No, I have made my life here, and nothing was pulling me back towards Remnant other than bad memories." Anabel responded, "It's why I gave that book to one of my old colleagues." She then turned back to Roman, "But I still want to help people, especially those who went through the same grief I did. That's why I am who I am now." She looked back to Roman with a focused gaze, "Tell me, how did you die to come here?"
"Eat by some big scary Grimm thing," Roman responded, "That happened to all six of us."
"Six?" Anabel responded, "You only listed four girls in your report."
"The other one is with me already." Roman answered, then adjusted his Poketch "She's in the league as well, I think she is about to get her third badge." He said before showing her an image of the red hooded trainer, "I forget her name, I just call her Red." The orange-haired criminal said before seeing Anabel's eyes widen, "What?"
"I…I can't believe it," Anabel spoke in shock, "She looks just like her."
"Like whom?" Roman asked, causing Anabel to take out her wallet. She then showed him a photo inside, causing the orange-haired criminal to look on in shock, "...Huh…"
Meanwhile.
Ruby rode the elevator up until it came to a stop. In turning to her right, she saw the enteric trainer standing with a smile, "Rosa, how did you-"
"There were stairs." Rosa answered before Ruby could finish, then shrugged, "Who knew?"
Ruby giggled then turned to the other end of the arena. There, Bonne stood next to a young man around the red hooded trainer's age. He wore a light blue jumpsuit and a backpack he held onto the straps. His eyes were obscured by the wide glasses and his hair matched that of his little sister, "Thank you for coming, allow me to introduce myself, I am-," he was saying until Bonnie walked to stand between the gym leader and the challenger.
"This is the Lumiose City Gym Leader, Clemont!" Bonnie continued, "That means you're up against the best now!" She said with her hands on her hips and Clemont looked down on her in slight irritation.
"Uh, hi," Ruby responded, not knowing which one to address now, "I'm-"
"She's Ruby Rose," Rosa responded for the red hooded girl, "And she is ready to beat the best to get her third badge in the Pokemon World League."
"Oh, this is for your third badge," Clemont commented, "In that case, I will use three of my strongest Pokemon in our battle."
"Alright," Ruby responded with a nod and smile, "I'm ready." In saying that, Bonnie walked away to take her position as proctor. While Rosa moved to sit at the sidelines. Ruby took out one of her Pokeball as Clemont pressed a button on one of his straps. Suddenly, two robotic arms ejected with one in the shape of a sun and the other being a white-gloved hand holding a Pokeball.
"Let the match begin!" Bonnie said as both trainers tossed out their first Pokemon.
Emerging from Ruby's Pokeball was the foxlike Pokemon, "Eev!" Eevee spoke before landing on the arena.
From Clemont's Pokeball, a large yellow lizard Pokemon appeared with a black head, neck, and claws. Rosa took out her Pokedex and scanned what she saw, "Heliolisk, the Generator Pokemon." The Pokedex spoke, "They flare their frills and generate energy. A single Heliolisk can generate sufficient electricity to power a skyscraper."
"Looks like a tough one," Rosa commented, "Be careful."
"Right," Ruby nodded, then pointed, "Eevee, use Quick Attack."
"Eev!" Eevee said before dashing in at high speed.
"Two can play at that game," Clemont responded, "Heliolisk, use Quick Attack."
"Helio!" the yellow lizard Pokemon said before dashing in as well.
The two attacks collided in the center with both Pokemon bouncing off one another.
"We'll try hitting from below then," Ruby commented, "Use Dig!" she said with Eevee readjusting in midair and burrowing into the ground of the arena.
"I already have a plan for that," Clemont said with Ruby gasping, "Heliolisk, use Bulldoze!" he said with the yellow lizard Pokemon stomping his right leg, causing the arena to shake.
"EEV!" Eevee cried from the hole she had dug.
"Quick, jump out of the ground and use Swift!" Ruby called out with Clemont smirking, "Oh no."
"Quick Attack," Clemont said with Heliolisk dashing in again. Eevee emerged from the whole and was just about to unleash her attack but gasped as the yellow lizard Pokemon crashed into her body. Eevee was flung to the ground as Heliolisk stood close by, "Now, use Eclectic Terrain!"
"Heliolisk!" the yellow lizard Pokemon said as it expanded its neck flaps, which glowed yellow as a wave of electricity pulsated through the arena.
"What is this?" Rosa commented, "I haven't even seen a move like that before."
"I just made my pokemon's electric moves a lot stronger." Clemont said before pointing with the robot arm, "Go, use Parabolic Charge!" he said with Heliolisk unleashing a shockwave that ran through the whole arena. It collided with Eevee just as she got back up but pushed her aside from the impact and back to the ground. Afterward, the electricity seemed to return to the yellow lizard Pokemon, regenerating what little wounds it had from the fight already.
"See, I wasn't kidding," Bonnie commented, "My brother is the best!"
"Bonnie, you're the proctor," Clemont called out, "You have to be unbiased."
"Oops, sorry," Bonnie said with a slight chuckle.
"She's not wrong though," Ruby thought to herself, "This guy is tougher than anyone I have faced so far." She thought before clenching her fist, "But we can't give up!" Ruby said with Eevee having a similar focus in the battle, "Eevee, use Growl!"
"EEVEE!" the foxlike Pokemon let out a battle cry that ran through the whole arena, causing Heliolisk to recoil for a second.
"Now, Quick Attack!" Ruby called out with Eevee dashing in again.
"That same only tricked," Clemont responded, then pointed, "Okay, we'll use Quick Attack as well." He said with Heliolisk dashing in as well, "What!?"
"If we can make your attacks weaker, then ours will win out in the end." Ruby responded with a smile, "Go Eevee, Growl again."
"EEVEE!" The foxlike Pokemon growl louder than before.
"Tsk, use Parabolic Charge."
"Heli!" Heliolisk responded as it opened its neck flaps.
"Dig!" Ruby called out with Eevee burrowing in the ground just as the electric wave ran through the arena.
"Bulldoze now!" Clemont said with Heliolisk stomping again to shake the arena.
"Don't let it stop you," Ruby called out, "Push through!" she said with Eevee emerging out from the ground, crashing into Heliolisk's head and sending him back, "Yes, now Swift to finish him off."
"Eevee!" The foxlike Pokemon called with her mouth open and fired the barrage of stars.
"Use Parabolic Charge!" Clemont responded.
"Helio!" the yellow lizard Pokemon responded as its neck flaps opened again to unleash waves of electricity.
The two attacks collided in midair with an explosion that ran through the whole battlefield. As the smoke settled, Heliolisk was seen panting while on one knee. However, Eevee was seen with her chin on the ground and eyes swirling, "Eev…" the foxlike Pokemon spoke before going conscious.
"Eevee is unable to battle," Bonnie announced as Ruby gasped.
"You may have lowered the attack of physical moves, but special moves were still going strong, thanks to the electric terrain," Clemont commented, then adjusted his glasses.
"But I thought Eevee's attack would hit first?" Ruby asked.
"Eevee was slower because of bulldoze." Rosa answered, "Every time it hit, her speed fell. You didn't notice it before because you were using Quick Attack to nullify the speed drop."
"Oh, I see now." Ruby responded before taking out Eevee's Pokeball, "You did great, take a nice rest." She said before recalling her Pokemon then equipping a new ball, "Okay Honedge, I choose you!"
"Hon!" the red sword Pokemon said as it emerged with a sparkle.
"Use Shadow Sneak!" Ruby ordered with Honedge sinking into the floor while heading towards Heliolisk.
"That won't work for two reasons," Clemont called out, "The first is that we'll respond with Bulldoze!" he said with Heliolisk stomping to unleash a shockwave that ran through the shadows. However, the weakened attack did not stop the red sword Pokemon from getting in close for an attack, "And the second, Heliolisk is a normal and electric type." The gym leader said as the sword slash went through the yellow lizard pokemon's body without harm.
"I thought so," Ruby responded with a smirk, "Which is why I planned for that."
"Huh?" Clemont said before he realized it, "Heliolisk, behind you!"
"Heli?" Heliolisk said as Honedge's attack poised her for another attack.
"Night Slash!" Ruby called out with Honedge unleashing a devasting hit from behind Heliolisk, sending the yellow lizard Pokemon back and onto the ground, "Yes, it worked!" she said before seeing the arena being less static, "Looks like that terrain is fading."
"It isn't," Clemont called out, "Heliolisk, set up electric terrain again!" he said with the yellow lizard Pokemon expanding its neck flaps again.
"Not gonna happen," Ruby called out, "Finish this with one more Night Slash!" she said with Honedge dashing in for a flying chop, landing across Heliolisk's chest. However, just before impact, the yellow lizard released a pulse wave throughout the area once again, maintaining the terrain, "Oh no, I forgot about the speed drop again." Ruby thought before looking to see the swirling eyes on Heliolisk, "But we still took this one down."
"Heliolisk is unable to battle," Bonnie called out as Clemont recalled his Pokemon.
"I'm impressed you did so well against my first Pokemon," Clemont said as he got a new Pokeball ready, "But now, let's see how you deal with this one. Go, Magneton!" He with the Pokemon emerging from the ball looking familiar. They were three silver steel balls with an eye at the center of each. Magnets and screws we attached to the Pokemon that spun as it let out a metallic screech.
"Uh," Ruby said as she pointed, "Isn't that just three Magnemites?"
"No, it's the evolved form of that Pokemon," Rosa answered, "Some Pokemon just change like this?"
"Oh, cool," Ruby responded, then turned back to the battle and pointed. "Honedge, let's power up with Swords Dance." She said with the red sword Pokemon flashing with an orange aura, "Now Night Slash."
"Magneton, use Thunder Wave!" Clemont said with the magnet Pokemon unleashing a pulse wave around the arena. Honedge was hit by the wave but pushed through before landing its slash. The magnate Pokemon recoiled back, but then glared with all three eyes, "Now, use Discharge!" he said with Magneton unleashing a shockwave again, but this one seemed much stronger.
"Hon!" Honedge was flung back in the attack, her blade body sparking with the cloth barely able to hold the handle.
"Oh no, this one is a lot stronger than that Magnemite was." Ruby said before getting an idea, "But if it's a steel type, then I know who can deal with it." She said before taking out her Pokeball, "Okay Honedge, return!" she said trying to recall her Pokemon, but the red energy refused to work, "Huh?"
"Don't you know how polarity works?" Clemont said with his arms crossed.
"You mean the power of poles?" Bonnie spoke up.
"No, not that," Clemont said with a sigh, "I mean magnetism, certain metals being able to attract or repel one other."
"Oh, that's less cool," Bonnie commented with Ruby nodding.
"His Magneton has the Magnet Pull ability." Rosa spoke to the red hooded trainer, "So any steel type Pokemon cannot escape until the battle is over."
"Correct," Clemont commented, "Now Magneton, use Magnet Bomb!" he said with the magnet Pokemon spinning its magnates, creating a ball of metal that surrounded Honedge.
"Use Iron Defense!" Ruby counter with the red sword Pokemon gaining a silver aura just before the magnet bomb collided with her body. The smoke settled with Honedge still standing with a shine, "Quick, Shadow Sneak!"
"Hon!" Honedge spoke before sinking into the shadows, rushing toward Magneton. However, the shadow sparked with electricity, "Honedge!" the red sword Pokemon emerged from the shadow recoiling from the shock.
"She's unable to move through the paralyzes." Clemont commented, "Now, Discharge once more!" he said with Magneton unleashing a powerful shockwave again.
"Hon!" Honedge recoiled from the blast, landing its back while dropping the sheath, "Hon…"
"Honedge is unable to-" Bonnie was saying, but then saw the Pokemon shutter to get up.
"Hon…" Honedge staggered to push itself up, "Hon!" she said as she glared at Magneton, who looked back with a scowl in each eye, "HON!" the red sword Pokemon screamed as its body glowed in a white light. Ruby watched in awe as her red sword Pokemon morphed into two. The sheath changed shape to home both blades. The swords were still red, but the hilt was altered, the cloth darker, and the gem eye now yellow, "Dou!"
"Well, that did take long," Rosa said with her hand on her chin, "Honedge evolved into Doublade." She said before patting Ruby on the back, "And see, I told you some Pokemon change like that."
"Wow," Ruby said in awe, "You turned into two swords!"
"Dou!" Doublade turned back to Ruby with a nod, then showed both blades glowing in a blue light, "Doublade!"
"Is that a new move?" Ruby asked.
"Yep, that looks like Sacred Sword," Rosa spoke with a smile, "And trust me, that's as powerful of a move as it sounds."
"Awesome!" Ruby said in glee then looked back to the fight with focus, "Okay Doublade, use Sacred Sword!"
"Dou!" the duo red sword Pokemon rushed in with both blades glowing, "Blade!" she said before slashing Magneton across all eyes at once.
"Magneton!" Clemont said as his Pokemon was flung into a wall, but struggled to stay floating, "Quick, use Magnet Bomb!" he said with the magnet Pokemon unlash the surrounding attack again. However, Doublade swatted at the metal spheres before they could make contact. As the attack failed, the terrain faded, "Tsk, use Electric Terrain!"
"Not this time, use Sacred Sword again!" Ruby called out, but Doublade was unable to move its body, "Oh no, paralyzed again." She said as the magnet Pokemon sent out a pulse wave again, causing the electric terrain to reform. At that moment, the static faded around Doublade as she rushed in for the prior attack.
"Use Discharge!" Clemont called out as Magneton charged for its powerful shockwave. Doublade slashed her swords at the magnet Pokemon, but in making contact, the red swords Pokemon was engulfed in the discharge. The aftermath of the attacks left both Pokemon falling onto the ground with swirling eyes.
"Both Pokemon are unable to continue!" Bonnie announced as she raised her arms, "You each have one Pokemon left."
"You did awesome out there, and you even evolved!" Ruby said as she recalled Doublade, "Now, just relax and let him finish the fight." She said before swapping to her last Pokeball, "Go, Arcanine!"
"Ra!" the blazing canine Pokemon said as he emerged on the electrified battlefield.
"So, that's your last one," Clemont said as he recalled his Magneton, "Then it's a good thing I have my partner with me here." He said before tossing out the new Pokeball, "Go, Luxray!"
Emerging from the ball was a black and blue large feline Pokemon with a yellow starlike-shaped tail end. "Ra!" it roared while glaring before glaring at Arcanine, who snarled back with flared fangs.
Rose took out her Pokedex to scan the gym leader's ace, "Luxray, the Gleam Eyes Pokémon. Luxray's ability to see through objects comes in handy when it's scouting for danger. When its eyes gleam gold, it can spot hiding prey-even those taking shelter behind a wall."
"Wait a second," Ruby said as she looked at Luxray, then recalled seeing a smaller Pokemon with similar features on her journey, "This must be the evolved form of Shinx we saw near Jubilife."
"Yep, that's right." Rosa responded, "This one's gonna be a lot stronger and won't run away."
"And neither will we." Ruby said as she focused on the fight, "Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!"
"RAAA!" Arcanine howled before rushing into battle.
"Stand your ground," Clemont called out, causing Luxray to remind locked in its position. The blazing canine Pokemon crashed into the gleam eyes Pokemon, their heads colliding as they glared at each other, "Now Thunder Fang!"
"RAAA!" Luxray roared while pushing Arcanine back. While the blazing canine Pokemon was stunned, Luxray flared his fangs with a yellow aura. He then bit into Arcanine's neck with electricity flowing from the attack.
"Arcanine!" Ruby panicked before pointing, "Push him back with Retaliate!"
"Jump back and use Thunderbolt!" Clemont called out with Luxray letting go of Arcanine to evade its flailing. The gleam eyes Pokemon's body was then fully shrouded in electricity before it was all struck onto the blazing canine Pokemon.
"Raaa!" Arcanine howled in pain as he was flung back with the shocking attack.
"Quick, use charge back in with Flame Wheel!" Ruby responded.
"Ra," Arcanine howled as his eyes focused in, his body coiling into a blazing ball of flames.
"Try this one on for size," Clemont responded, "Use Wild Charge!"
"RAAA!" Luxray roared before its body was engulfed in electricity again, but this one was much stronger. The gleam eyes Pokemon charged into the flame head-on while shrouded in electric armor. The attacks collided with a massive explosion, but Arcanine was flung back again, "RAAA!" Luxray roared through the smoke, its eyes piercing as its body sparked from the recoil of the hit.
Arcanine struggled to stay on its feet, causing Ruby to have eyes of worry, "This is bad, those electric-type moves are too powerful with this terrain still up." She thought before having an idea, "Wait a second, I got it." She said before pointing, "Okay Arcanine, I have a plan. Use Extreme Speed to circle Luxray!"
"Ra!" Arcanine howled with a nod before doing so, dashing around Luxray at high velocity.
"Sorry, but I saw that strategy on your way up here through the monitors." Clemont commented, "Luxray, stand your ground and use Thunderbolt!"
"Ra!" Luxray roared before his claws dug into the ground, then changed with voltage before unleashing it toward Arcanine.
"Dodge it," Ruby called out with Arcanine evading the bolts while continuing his extreme speed, "Switch to Flame Wheel." She said with the blazing canine Pokemon coiling into a ball of flames. The others gasped in shock as the high-speed flames started to create a flame tornado. Luxray's electricity was unable to form in the heat, his body recoiling from the flames. "Now, Retaliate." She said with Arcanine uncoiling before rushing Luxray.
However, Clemont smirked, "Luxray, jump up!" he said with Ruby gasping. Luxray's claws were undug from the ground as he leaped up, evading the attack. With the momentum, the gleam eyes Pokemon made it to the ceiling just as he repositioned his body, "Now Crunch!" the gym leader declared.
"RAAA!" Luxray flared his fangs as he dove down onto Arcanine's body. The force of the impact dispersed the flame tornado. Ruby looked on in shock as Luxray was biting into the back of Arcanine's neck. The blazing canine lay on the ground with his eyes closed.
"You two did well," Clemont commented, "But it looks like it's-" he was saying until Arcanine opened his eyes with a red glare, "Wait, don't tell me his ability is-"
"Justified, yep." Rosa said with a hand on her chin, "I guess jumping to conclusion is genetic." She said with Bonnie slightly pouting.
"It's not over yet!" Ruby called out, "Arcanine, use Play Rough!"
"RAAAAA!" Arcanine howled before flailing with Luxray, then bit the gleam eyes Pokemon before tussling in a plume of smoke. Luxray was then tossed out before skidding on his side.
"Luxray!" Clemont spoke to his Pokemon before noting the electric terrain fading, "Oh no."
"We stalled it out," Ruby said with a smile, "And you showed all four of your moves, this terrain is gone for good."
"In that case, let's end this now." Clemont responded with a matching smile, then pointed, "Luxray, use Wild Charge!"
"RAAA!" Luxray roared as his body was engulfed in electricity while charging towards Arcanine.
"Arcanine, use Flame Wheel!" Ruby said as she pointed, causing the blazing canine Pokemon to rush in as a ball of fire, "Now switch to switch to Retaliate!"
"RAAA!" Arcanine howled while engulfing himself in flames before crashing headfirst into Luxray. The two Pokemon glare into each other with the fire and electricity merging. The last of the electric terrain faded, but its voltage seemed to flow into Luxray's body to increase the power of this last attack. At the same time, the combination of the two moves Arcanine used seemed to change his flames. They went from red fire to a blue blaze that engulfed his body.
"Come on, don't let in for an even an inch," Clemont called out with his fists clenched.
"Don't give up, I know you can win this," Ruby cheered as had her fist clenched as well.
"PUSH THROUGH!" Both yelled at the same time.
"RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Arcanine and Luxray roared at the flames and voltage reached their peak, resulting in an explosion on the battlefield. Clemont and Ruby shield their eyes from the shockwave of smoke but quickly looked back to the battlefield. As the dust settled, both Pokemon were still standing. However, each were breathing heavily as their bodies sparked with recoil from the last hit. Arcanine's legs wobbled as he struggled to stay up. However, Luxray remained steadfast in his position. He looked onto the blazing canine Pokemon with a grin. Suddenly, the gleam eyes Pokemon body gave out as he collapsed with swirling eyes.
"Luxray is unable to battle," Bonnie announced before pointing to the red hooded girl, "The winner is the challenger, Ruby!"
"W-we, did it?" Ruby said in shock before jumping in joy, "We did it!"
"Ra…" Arcanine said with a smile before his legs gave out. His eyes closed for a second but opened back up once he felt Ruby hugging him, nuzzling her face close to his. The blazing canine Pokemon licked his trainer's cheek as she giggled in joy.
"You were great out there, as always." Clemont said as he recalled Luxray, then walked out to Ruby, "But as you are the victory, it is my duty as gym leader to award proof of your accomplishments in this battle." He said as the robotic arm extended to Ruby. The red hooded trainer looked in its palm to see a yellow triangle-shaped badge with six bolts of lightning radiating off it, "I present you with the Voltage badge."
"Thank you," Ruby said as she accepted the badge with a smile. She turned back to see Rosa walking up as well, "That makes three badges now."
"Yep," Rosa said, "One more and you're in the league."
"Yep," Bonnie said as she walked up as well, then winked, "And as a special bonus, I will let you go out with my brother."
"What?" Ruby responded.
"What?" Rosa added.
"WHAT!?" Clemont said as his face went red and his eyes fogged.
"Come on, you two are both amazing trainers and I think you would really hit it off-" Bonnie was saying into she was picked up by one of the robotic arms, "Hey, put me down!"
"S-sorry about that," Clemont spoke to Ruby, "Siblings, they can be a handful." He said with an uneasy giggle, "Anyway, as Bonnie said, she has to put her down to sleep. So… Bye!" he said before rushing off to the other end of the arena with his little sister squirming.
"Oh, okay…bye," Ruby said with a wave, then looked back at her new badge with a smile.
After riding the elevator down, the two girls exited to the bottom floor. Rosa looked over to Ruby with a smile, "So, we are going to need to do a lot of planning now." She advised the red hooded girl, "Last gym battles in this league are full six on six matches. Which means you need to catch one more team member to even out your party for that battle." She said before looking to the blazing canine pokemon's Pokeball, "Also, you may want to think about teaching Arcanine some new fire moves. You basically can have him learn Fire Spin no problem now."
"Okay, sounds good." Ruby responded, then recalled something else in the fight, "What was that blue flame at the end though?"
"Hm, it could be Flare Blitz." Rosa said with her hand on her chin, "If it is, that's going to be a strong move to have." She said before having another realization, "Oh, since you have Doublade now, do you want to use the dusk stone on her?"
"Not yet, I want her to get a feel for this new transformation before rushing to the next stage." Ruby responded before having a giggle, "I know what it's like to skip a few grades, and I don't want to rush things for her like I did if she isn't ready yet."
"I see, that's nice," Rosa said as the two girls walked out of the Lumiose tower. As they made it to the street, the orange-haired criminal was seen walking up to them, "Hey, look who missed all the fun."
"Did win the badge?" Roman asked Ruby.
"Oh, ignoring me now," Rosa responded with a pout, "I see how it is?"
"Yes, I won." Ruby said while showing the voltage badge, "Sadly, I don't think this tower will help us find the others. You can look inside, but it only some odd quiz questions."
"Don't care." Roman said before reaching into his pocket, "Look, I need you to be honest with me." He said before taking out a photo and handing it to Ruby, "Do you know this woman?"
Ruby had a look of confusion before taking the photo. However, her eyes widened at the sight. Rosa looked at the image, discovering a lady in a black outfit with a white hood. She smiled while hugging a pink Pokemon with sky blue eyes. "Oh, she has an Audino." Rosa said while looking closer at the image, "And the same eyes as you, Ruby…Ruby?" she turned to discover the red hooded trainer still in a paralyzed state, "Ruby?"
"She's…She's…" Ruby struggled to speak as she looked at the image, "My mom." She said before her eyes started to close and her body fell backward.
"Ruby!" Rosa said before catching the red hooded trainer as she passed out, "I don't get it, she told me her mother die."
"I know about that," Roman responded he took the photo out of Ruby's hands, "Come with me, there's someone she needs to talk to." He said before looking at the photo again, then sighed, "This whole thing just got a lot more complicated." The orange-haired criminal said as he started to walk away. Rosa still had many questions but followed him as she held the unconscious Ruby.
AN: There you go, what a twist. Anabel and Roman share a drink as she reveals that she was from Remnant in this continuity of her. This was hinted at a while back with book Brandon mentioned that she gave him. Meanwhile, Ruby has her epic gym battle against Clemont, who I gave him his Luxray from the anime for. The gym battle from the show is quite possibly the best in the series and fun to pay homage to here. During the fight Honedge evolves into Doublade and learns Sacred Sword. However, I want to hold off on the next stage for the time being. At the end, Ruby wins her third badge, but learns of something huge. Her mother is alive and in this world as well. Next chapter will be the last of this section of the RRR group, but it will be the one to shape where they go next. That is all for now, thanks for reading, and hope to see you in the next chapter.
