DANGANRONPA: REBELS OF PARADISE
And So It Begins
Lars tapped his finger on the table in front of him as he scowled. It had been weeks since the failed attempt to stop the heli-carrier. And what a while ride it had been.
He learned that the Remnants of Despair were apparently cured by taking the blame so hope could live on… how the "Train Killing Game" occurred and went… and a whole lot more. But recently he's been in a slump as nothing has been found. His police force was stumped as his investigative partner Kyoko Naegi was still working.
It was a but another meeting with the "Survivor Six" as he calls them… when a younger woman kicked down the door with a panicked look. It was none other than Makoto's little sister Komaru who was catching her breath before looking up at the others. "Turn on the TV!"
Feeling the urgency, they complied… as the screen showed a familiar logo. The 'Monokuma Eye'… …
The scene shifted back to the main quarters where the herald could be seen sitting at their chair. "The final preparations are complete. Now…" "…it's time to begin?" Suddenly from the darkness in the room came another cloaked figure. "Ah. Harbinger. Finished with everything on your end?" The figure nodded as they moved towards the Herald, who pressed a button on their chair. Suddenly, a second identical chair rose from the ground as the Harbinger sat down. "The two different groups are prepared… it's time to begin the game." The Herald nodded and move to speak before stopping and turning to the Harbinger. "Did you remember-" "Yes I remembered. Now stop asking questions and start it."
The Herald stopped and nodded before turning their attention forward once more. The two were now facing the camera and screen as the Herald continued. "As I was saying beforehand… may the trip towards salvation begin! For a brighter and better future!"
The screen then faded to black… as music started to play.

The scene would shift as a bullet appeared. On the bullet, changing would be the images of sixteen individuals, the two mascots, and the Herald & the Harbinger. Suddenly the bullet would then shoot past towards sixteen blacked out figures as it would crack open and reveal the skies and the Horizon flying through it as a sound played.
DANGANRONPA!
The screen then shifted to a shifting colour background as in the center rested a turning circle with the left half of it being the sun and the right half being the moon. Standing in front of the sun side was a figure in a cloak, showing no sign of appearance nor face. They stood in a more energetic pose.
THE HERALD
On the other side of the circle, another cloaked figure stood in front of the moon. They were dressed in a similar fashion as they stood in a more serious pose. They stood slightly taller than The Herald but still was close to the same.
THE HARBINGER
Following that, the figures disappeared as circle rotated, now having the sun on the right and the moon on the left. Posing in front of the sun side was a hand-standing stuffed fox who was grinning wildly. The fox was half red and orange, with the red side having white suns plastered all over. The eye on the red side also looked like crazy spiral like sun.
KITAIYO
Meanwhile, on the moon side, there was a sitting at attention wolf who held a serious expression as they looked forward. The wolf was half grey and half dark purple, with the dark purple side having black moons littered all over. The eye on the purple half looked like a distorted crescent moon.
OKASUKI
The scene then shifts as it goes to fly through the heli-carrier to show a variety of hallways and rooms before the camera splits into two to show a brightly lit sunny room and a darkly lit moon room.
Just then, the scene shifted once more as it revealed the spinning sun and moon circle once more. Only this time, there was people posing in front with title cards.

On the left side in front of the sun was a girl with a fairly skinny and thin form with an average height. She had a light complexion with freckles dotted across the bridge of her nose and crystal turquoise eyes. She also has chocolate brown hair in a fishtail braid over her left shoulder which hung around chest level, other sections being plaited and connected at the back of her head in a smaller braid, her fringe hanging in the middle of her forehead, and two longer strands scraped to the sides. As well, she had a pair of small dark grey googles sitting on the top of her head. She had a helpful and hopeful expression as circling around her were clock hands as well as small antique clocks, watches, and digital clocks.
Her outfit consisted of a simple black strap vest under a red shawl adorned in a plaid patter of varying shades & tied off in the middle while hanging to her wait-line, a pair of pale blue shorts stopping at her mid-thigh, a pair of black tights adorned in a pattern of silver clock cogs & trinkets of various sizes, and a pair of dark tan lace up platform shoes with a small gizmo charm attached to each shoe. She also had a long green scarf decorated in various clock faces of different sizes, a tan coloured belt with storage pockets containing a variety of tools, a small pocket journal, dangling hourglass earrings, a silver infinity brooch securing her shawl, a tan wristwatch with three separate faces on her right wrist, loops of silver chain on her left wrist, and a pocket watch on a bronze chain beneath her scarf.

Next to the girl in front of the right moon side was a boy with a slim build but of fair height. He had short black hair that covered his left eye, which upon closer inspection, was dull with no real colour. His other eye on the other hand was an amber colour and had light scratches and scars around it. He had a very cold and distant expression on his face as he stood there with hands in his pockets. Circling around him was a multitude of thought bubbles and question marks.
His outfit consisted of a blue plaid button up shirt that was unbuttoned which revealed a lighter blue t-shirt underneath, a pair of simple black jeans, and a pair of grey sneakers. He also had what appeared to be a small bottle of some kind tucked away in his pocket.
Minato Tamura – The Ultimate Memory

Suddenly, the two individuals then disappeared as the circle shifted once more, the moon on the left and the sun on the right. Two figures appeared once more only now it was not the same individual but rather two similarly looking boys.
The first was the one standing in front of the sun. It was a tall, lean young man with a decently athletic build. He had a camera and microphone in hand as he was circled by video thumbnails from a video sharing platform, all having a logo that consisted of a camera lens with a microphone crossing it to look like a "no" sign. He had olive skin, mischievous looking brown (nearly hazel) eyes, between short and medium length dark purple hair that was pushed back by a thin and small yellow headband, and a toothy grin showing his pearly whites.
His outfit consisted of a bright yellow long sleeve shirt, a brown hooded unzipped sleeveless jacket over top, dark purple jeans with the shirt tucked in, a white belt with a silver buckle designed to look like a little ghost, and a pair of bright yellow high tops with brown laces. Also, his knuckles appeared to be slightly bruised.

Meanwhile, in front of the moon side, was another tall, lean young man with a fairly athletic build, but not as athletic as the other man. He stood there nervously and circling him was a bunch of candles, talismans, and small little ghosts. He had olive skin, bright brown eyes that conveyed a bit of awkwardness & shyness, and short, fluffy, dark purple hair.
His outfit consisted of an unbuttoned purple gakuran with dark brown buttons & a yellow scroll pattern, a plain bright yellow shirt underneath the gakuran with the camera lens & microphone "no" sign logo, dark brown jeans, and purple sneakers with brown laces. He also had a couple of small scars over him.
Shinpei Kagami – The Ultimate Exorcist

The circle then shifted once more, the sun moon circle rotating back to it's original position, as a girl stood in front of the left sun side. She was a fair young lady who stood there poised as saddles and riding crops circled around her. She had medium length brown hair that was in a ponytail and dark but determined eyes. She held a stance of elegance with her chin up high and a pair of white pearl earrings hanging from her earlobes.
Her outfit consisted of a navy dressage tailcoat with golden buttons on the chest, back, & wrists, a long-sleeved white shirt, a yellow vest, a blue-golden paisley tie, a pair of white riding gloves, light brown breeches, long white socks, and a pair of tall black riding boots with spurs. On her head rested a black top hat with a white bow.

Meanwhile on the right side in front of the moon was another girl. This one looked very young child like appearance but still having a slightly toned upper body and arms. Her skin was tan, she had wavy periwinkle-coloured hair that went just a little past her shoulders, she had wide brown eyes, and a numerous number of scars all over her body from claw marks to bite marks. She stood there with a wild grin holding a shotgun as she was circled by tiger pelts, alligator skins, and different kinds of horns.
Her outfit consisted of a beige turtleneck with a brown sleeveless vest over top, a brown skirt, stockings, and a pair of black knee-high boots. She also had a brown flat cap, a ragged brown filled backpack resting on her back, and an antique blunderbuss hooked at her hip.

The circle then shifted once more, with the sun on the right and the moon on the left. In front of the sun was a slim man. He had olive skin, light blue eyes, and medium length wavy purple hair that fell over his eyes a bit. He stood there with a smile and a welcoming hand and a couple of cards in his hand. As well, circling around him was multiple different kinds of tarot cards.
His outfit consisted of a purple turtleneck shirt, a black vest overtop, a matching suit jacket, dark red pants, a leather belt, and black shoes. He also had a pair of glasses with jeweled chains coming off of them that clipped to his suit jacket as well as a deck of tarot cards sticking out of his pocket.

Next to the man, however, in front of the moon, was a girl standing with spread out arms and a wide grin. She had ivory skin, freckles on her cheeks & body, malachite green eyes, and long auburn hair that reached just below her chest area. The hair was tied in a bun on the bottom right with it being in middle while strands of hair stick out. She also has baby bangs, side bangs reaching her chin, and braids in her hair that lead to the bun. Her hair is also tied by a ribbon that is tied around her bun that looks the same as one tied around her neck. She also wore black vintage winged eyeliner and scarlet colored lipstick. Circling around the girl was a bunch of mirrors and smoke.
Her outfit consisted of a white blouse with two black buttons below the collar, two diamond shaped buttons with one on each cuff that are made of cubic zirconia, a black with white horizontal stripes skinny tied bowtie, and a crimson red sequined blaze that splits into two coattails and has a glittery inside that is a darker shade of red. The blazer also had four shiny plastic buttons that look like gems, with only the two middle buttons tied to the blazer. She also wears black shiny puffy shorts that's tied by a brown leather belt with an oval buckle with a five-pointed star encrusted with the same crystals as her blazer, pantyhose, and a pair of black boots with high heels that go just above her ankles. She also had oval crystals ornaments in her hair and a grey pocket watch in her pocket.

Suddenly, the scene shifted once more to show almost comic style cuts revealing the eight participants currently revealed before shifting back.
With the circle back in it's original position, two new figures appeared. First on the sun side was a slender but fit girl with a light skin tone. She had heterochromia with her right eye being yellow& her left eye being dark blue, as well as dark circles under her eyes and a burn scar over almost the entire right side of her face. She had was messy waist-length black hair with white and blonde dyed hair mixed within with a big strand in front of her. She stood there with a brave expression as travel brochures, phones and postcards circled around her.
Her outfit consisted of a white unzipped hoodie with dark blue cuffs and a yellow hood which had a symbol of a yellow diamond inside with a dark yellow question mark inside the diamond, a black short sleeved mini dress with small ruffles at the bottom, a dark blue shoe on her right foot, a yellow shoe on her left foot, white knee socks, elbow length dark blue fingerless arm warmers, and a small dark blue satchel with a small camera and blank notepad with pens inside. She also had a pair of question mark silver earrings with gray studs.

In front of the moon was another woman who held a tall stature and a farmer's tan with a very unmotivated expression. She had deep brown, almost unblinking, eyes, auburn hair that was straight with long bangs and tied into a short, high ponytail that fell just below her shoulders. Circling around the tall lady was a bunch of equations as well as an eight dotted ring.
Her outfit was consisted of a white short-sleeved shirt underneath long dark blue overalls, long torn-up black socks, a pair of beat-up black and white sneakers, and a large dark green backpack in the shape of a turtle shell… possible a tortoise shell.

The circle rotates once more as standing in front of the sun side was a woman. She had a taller and slim stature with a fairly lean build. She had wavy dark blue-green hair that extended down to her upper back that was tired into a side bun with side swept bangs that cover most of her forehead and a slim long strand extending over her left eye. She had reddish orange eyes with faint eyebags and a small mole near the left eye. She was circled by magnifying glasses and spread sheets as she stood there holding another spread sheet.
Her outfit consisted of a blue gray dress shirt with the top button undone, simple black pants, a maroon jacket with light brown faux fur lining, a pair of dark red closed toe shoes with maroon flats, a pair of silver framed glasses with circular lenses, simple gold studs ear piercings, and a pair of dark gray fingerless gloves.
Hitomi Kondo – The Ultimate Forensic Accountant

Meanwhile on the moon side was a younger looking man with an average build but decently tall. He had deep green eyes with short messy brown hair as well as a resting face that screamed unapproachable. He was standing there with crossed arms as he was circled by lightbulbs, charts, books, sketches of people and a multitude of different academic symbols.
His outfit consisted of a white button up sweater with a green shirt underneath, a pair of tan pants, a pair of tan and white sneakers, and a green single strapped white backpack strapped across his chest. He also had a pair of silver framed glasses with square lenses, similar to the lady on the sun side's only a different shape.

The circle shifted once more as two large individuals appeared. On the sun side was a muscular man with lightly tanned ivory skin. He had a strong jawline, hazel-coloured eyes, defined muscles and strong arms & legs with an overall powerful physique. His had short raven black hair that was slicked back with multiple strands of loose hair sticking out perched on his forehead in a cool and stylish way. He stood there big smile and puffed out chest as axes, flames and hoses circled around him.
His outfit consisted of a very form fitting dark gray turtleneck long sleeve sweater, navy blue jeans with a dark brown belt that had a large silver ornate belt buckle with a bull's face & gold trim along the edges, a pair of black socks, and a pair of auburn brown cowboy boots with his pant legs going over the boots. He also had a silver wristwatch on his left wrist, a silver necklace with a diamond cross pendant around his neck, and a chain wallet in his right jean pocket.

Meanwhile in front of the moon side was an even larger man. He had a tall hulking muscular build with a strong jawline and powerful muscles. He had short spiky black hair, a pair of deep brown eyes, and a light stubble on his face. He stood there with a more somber expression compared to the firefighter as he was circled by fist symbols, kick symbols, and cloth like belts.
His outfit consisted of a simple black tracksuit with white lining, a large red prayer bead necklace, and a pair of geta sandals. His sleeves were slightly moved up in a way that revealed his arms to be covered in a multitude of deep claw marks and similar scars.

Finally, the last pair of individuals appeared as on the sun side was a man who pose suavely yet calmly as a stream of liquid circled over him from a bottle in his right hand to a small glass in his left hand along with other kinds of glasses. He held a physically fit appearance, similar to marathon runner. He had fair skin, aquamarine eyes, a pearly white smile, short stylish yet unkempt black hair that reached chin length before going into a long and thinner ponytail that reached his mid-back as well as a stubble and a cross tattoo on the left side of his neck.
He wore a black peak lapel suit with a white dress shirt, a red tie, and a pair of black dress shoes. He also had what appeared to be a silver pocked watch in his lapel suit jacket pocket, a pair of onyx black ring earrings, and a gold ring on his left-hand ring finger. All the while, he was calm and smiling at the camera.

Next to him in front of the moon side was a girl who was surrounded by a bunch of floating locks, keys, wire-cutters, and handcuffs. She was very pale, almost ghostly white, with a young-looking appearance. Her bust was almost non-existent, she had decent muscles though nothing defined, and wider hips. An overall sneaky build. She had sharp teeth, dyed dark blue hair that unevenly done in a long ponytail ending at her lower back, a pair of black large circular glasses, a black beret with an orange triangle, and a set of orange eyes that seemed to have a swirl spiraling within and no glow.
Her outfit consisted of a black choker that looked like a belt, a long black ribbon attached to the chocker that trailed behind her and reached her knees with the upper part transitioning from black to white, high-neck sleeveless white top, a black harness going around and under her chest area, strapless sleeves that are slightly cuffed with a black outline, a pair of black gloves with a white outline, an under-bust corset bodysuit cargo shorts with a black belt that is a little loose, white and black baggy socks, and black running shoes with secured laces. Attached to her belt was a pair of handcuffs. All the while, she had a mischievous grin as gave a wink to the camera while reaching for a key.

Suddenly, the scene shifted once more to show almost comic style cuts revealing the remaining eight participants currently revealed before shifting to black. The black then faded as a sun and a moon moved and intersected with one another, causing a crack to appear as the screen crumbled like glass to reveal the sixteen blacked out individuals.
The scene shifted to the sixteen blacked out individuals as they slowly shifted into the sixteen participants. The screen then faded to black before it faded int the Horizon in it's full glory in the sky as a sun and moon rested on opposite sides of the sky. And then… a title appeared.

After a few seconds, the screen would fade to black as the music faded.
…As the footage cut, the meeting room was quiet as can be. Pale faces surrounded the police officer as he noticed the signs… Post traumatic stress disorder… they truly were not free from it.
And despite that, they were working figuring this out. And now? They just verified the missing individuals. All sixteen of them… However, Lars was more focused on a certain thought… one that would catch the attention of everyone and bring a horrifying thought to the forefront.
"…Oh bloody hell. There's a second wacko in charge..."

…What? …Oh? Thought that the Herald was alone? What made you think that?
Not all shall be explained but… say hello to the final member of our dastardly leading guides… "The Harbinger".
Now with that small thing out of the way… OH GOD THIS WAS A DIFFICULT PROCESS!
So… Firstly… I want to say thank you to everyone who submitted their characters. I had to pick 16 from a selection of 31 possible characters. It was, no joke, painful to decide a cast. I've swapped and replaced so many times… running back and forth. Over and over again. And even near the end, I had to legitimately plan out two different possible casts. Because it was that close of a margin.
But… here we are. After careful consideration, multiple go throughs, a lot of curses, screams of agony, questioning my sanity, and banging heads against the table… we got our sixteen contestants.

So, as I've said before, I'm going to be taking my time with writing. Biggest reason why? I'm recently starting a brand-new job and will be prioritizing it. Once I get into the groove of things, I should be able to get the writing on. Perhaps this will take a while? But then again… Off the Rails took a whole year for Chapter 1.
