The Dark Signers had arrived after the end of Alex's duel with Roman, and Leo and Luna had just arrived as well. "It's time for you all to pay for what you've done. I'm going to ensure you rue the day you crossed my path," Alex swore. "Before you try and do that, I believe I have something one of your friends is looking for," Devack said as he held up a card that showed a monster Luna recognized.

"That's Ancient Fairy Dragon!" she exclaimed. "I believe this card should be in your deck. If you want it back, you'll have to duel me for it, and in case you're wondering who I am, my name is Devack, and I bear the Mark of the Monkey," Devack informed. "Fate has finally brought all of us together, Signer and Dark Signer. Let us meet tomorrow at the four stars of destiny. The end will be decided there," Roman added.

The Dark Signers then turned to leave, but Jack caught a glimpse of one of them as they were leaving and thought he recognized Carly under the hood. "Get back here!" Alex shouted before chasing after them. "Alex, come back!" Yusei shouted before Jack started running after the Dark Signers as well.

Alex found himself in an empty street, and he didn't see any signs of the Dark Signers anywhere. "Roman you coward! First you force my mom to take your place in our duel and then you just run away? Come out and face me!" he demanded. "Don't be so impatient Alex. We can't battle here, we're not supposed to," Roman responded, his voice echoing off the buildings, making it impossible to track.

"What are you talking about Roman?" Alex asked. "Haven't you wondered about why you were brought into all of this?" Roman questioned. "Because you just wanted my power," Alex responded angrily, but Roman just chuckled. "That's not the whole truth though. You were destined to be a part of this battle, just as you are destined to uphold your end of the deal," Roman answered.

"What deal?" Alex asked. "All will be revealed in due time. If you want answers, meet me at the reactor tomorrow," Roman responded. "I've had enough with the cloak and dagger routine! Get out here and duel me!" Alex demanded, but no matter how loud he shouted, the only answer he received was silence.

Meanwhile, Jack had almost caught up with Carly. "Hey you, why do you look so familiar?" Jack asked. Carly turned around and started to run away, but before she could get very far, Jack caught up and pulled her hood down. "I don't believe it. Carly, is that you?" Jack asked in disbelief.

Carly simply responded, "Yes." "What's going on here? You're not really a Dark Singer are you?" Jack questioned, not believing Carly could really be with them. Carly started to walk away and pulled her hood back up before turning back to face Jack. "If it's answers you want, you'll have to come find me tomorrow. Until then Jack," she said before running off.

Jack and Alex met up with everyone and they returned to Martha's place. "Well, at least everyone is alright," Martha said once they got back. "Yeah, thanks to Alex. If it wasn't for him, you and Taka might not even be here right now," Trudge added. Martha turned to thank Alex, but after looking around the room, she realized he wasn't here.

"Wait, where is he?" she asked. "That's weird, he was here just a minute ago," Luna responded. Just then, they heard a loud crash outside. "What was that?" Jack asked before another crash could be heard. "Let's go!" Akiza exclaimed. When they got outside, they saw Alex a few yards away facing the forest.

"What's he doing?" Leo asked. They received their answer a moment later when Alex charged a ball of black energy in his hand before throwing it at one of the trees, uprooting it and knocking it over. "That's some pitch," Yusei commented. Akiza started to walk up to Alex as he began charging another ball. She put her hand on his shoulder as he was about to throw it.

"Are you okay?" she asked. Alex let the ball fade away before letting his arm drop, answering "No." "It's okay. I'm sure that was hard for you," Akiza consoled. "It was bad enough losing her the first time, but knowing this time it was my doing," Alex began to say before Akiza cut him off, squeezing his shoulder slightly.

"Except you didn't do it. Alex, you didn't force her into that duel, Roman did. And you're not the one who ended the duel, she did. She knew what losing meant for her, and she was willing to sacrifice herself because she loves you, and she knows you can save her, and I know it too," she assured.

Alex leapt forward and hugged her, thanking her for her words. Just then, Alex's stomach started growling. "Sounds like you're pretty hungry. Well, you're lucky Martha saved you some of the soup from dinner," Akiza informed before they all headed back to the house and Alex ate what Martha had set aside for him.

Once Alex finished eating, he thanked Martha for saving him some. "You're welcome. I'm the one who should be thanking you for saving me and Taka," she responded. "Ok, so what do we do now? And what are the four stars of destiny Roman was talking about?" Yusei asked. "I'm guessing he was referring to the four control units that were built to maintain the original reactor," Mina explained.

"Why do we need to go to them?" Jack inquired. "According to the reports, they were the first part of the system to shut down when the reactor overloaded. During development, each reactor unit went by a code name. Ccapac Apu, Ccarayhua, Aslla Piscu, and Cusillu. In the Keshwa language, they mean the giant, the lizard, the hummingbird, and the monkey," Mina explained.

"Those are the Nazca lines that disappeared," Akiza realized. "Isn't there a spider as well? What about that one?" Luna asked. "The spider is Uru, which was the codename for the reactor itself. In order to reverse the reactor and reverse the flow of the negative energy, you have to go to each of the control units and turn them on," Mina informed.

"So how are they supposed to activate the control units?" Blister asked. "The dragon cards in your decks. Those were the cards that were used to power up each of the control units, so Luna, it's imperative you get the Ancient Fairy Dragon card back from Devack," Mina advised. When Yusei asked how Mina knew all of this, she explained it was because his father had given the cards to Director : How do you know all of this?

Flashback

"Why did Dr Fudo have those control cards? Is he the one who shut down the control units and caused the reactor to malfunction?" Mina asked. "No, just the opposite. He did everything he could to stop the reactor from going wild. During those final moments, he managed to get the cards and then hand them off to me," Goodwin explained.

End of Flashback

"Is that all Mina? Did Goodwin say anything else about my father?" Yusei asked. "I'm afraid that's all he said, just that your father gave him the cards," Mina answered solemnly. "If Goodwin had the cards, how did everyone else end up with them?" Blister asked.

Flashback

"I guess you could say I decided to release the cards into the wild. I wanted to test the powers of destiny. I wanted to see if they would travel from duelist to duelist until they reached their rightful owners. I figured if destiny was truly at work, then it would put those cards in the hands of the Signers. And sure enough the very cards that were used to power the reactor's control units so many years ago, guess who has them now? Jack Atlas, Yusei Fudo, and Akiza. Destiny really has been guiding us, and it will lead them to the Satellite where they will battle the Dark Singers," Goodwin said.

End of Flashback

"Well, since Goodwin knows so much about destiny, he must know how this thing is gonna turn out, right?" Jack asked. "It doesn't work like that, he doesn't know the future. There's no telling what will happen, but Goodwin is done playing his part. The rest is up to you. All of you. The fate of the world has been placed into your hands," Mina responded as she spread out a map with 4 red X's drawn on it.

"These are the locations of the four control stations: giant, lizard, hummingbird, and monkey," she explained. "What's the plan, hit them all up one by one?" Trudge asked. "That'll take too long, not to mention they'll be waiting to duel us. The best course of action would be to split up," Yusei offered.

"So who's going where?" Trudge asked. "Kalin's mark is the giant, so I'll head to that control unit. He and I have business," Yusei answered. "The lizard is Misty's mark. I'll head to that station," Akiza added. Luna agreed to go to the monkey control unit, needing to face Devack to reclaim Ancient Fairy Dragon, and Leo said he'd go with her.

Trudge said he'd take Leo and Luna to the control unit, and Mina said she'd take Akiza. "That leaves the hummingbird for me," Jack said, realizing that must be Carly's mark. "Mina, where's the original reactor?" Alex asked. "Right here," Mina said as she pointed to a large crater in the center of the map.

"Why are you asking this Alex?" Yusei inquired. "Because that's where Roman is going to be, and if so, that's where I'm going," Alex answered. Yusei nodded, telling Alex to be careful. "I will be. Roman won't be getting away from me this time," Alex promised. "Guess I'm stuck at home again watching the kids. Hope you all have fun saving the world," Blister wished.

"We will. Tomorrow we save our homes," Yusei responded before everyone went outside and got ready to go to their respective locations. "This is it you guys," Yusei said as he mounted his duel runner. "Be sure to kick Misty's butt for me, Akiza," Alex said as he turned to the psychic.

"Don't worry, I will," she promised. "Come on Yusei, we've got duels to duel. Give us a rousing speech and let's get going already," Jack said. "Alright you guys. The Dark Signers are powerful, and right now we're the only thing standing in their way. If you find yourself up against a wall, just think of the rest of us, think of your friends. We're all in this, and even when we're apart, we're together. Now let's go show the Dark Singers how we do things," Yusei said before taking off.

"And if any of you loses your duel, you'll have to answer to me," Jack added before leaving. Alex wished everyone luck before starting his duel runner, heading to the reactor. Mina and Trudge started driving to get their passengers to the control units. As Jack was driving, his mind drifted to Carly. "I'm coming to help you Carly. You helped me when I was hurt, and you picked me up when I was down, and now it's my turn to help you," he thought to himself.
