Everyone was preparing to leave, and Alex turned and said he'd see the others later. "You're not coming with us?" Yusei questioned, but Alex shook his head. "My fight is with Roman, and following you to the tower would just cost me time. Good luck Yusei," Alex wished as he mounted his duel runner.

"I understand, be careful," Yusei advised before Alex nodded and drove off. "I hope Alex will be okay," Luna admitted, but Yusei assured her Alex would be fine. Meanwhile in one of the abandoned streets of the Satellite, Crow's duel runner was laying on its side next to an old fridge.

Suddenly, it opened and Crow walked out of it before collapsing in the street. He tried to figure out where he was when he remembered driving away from a cloud of black smoke. He stood up and managed to right his duel runner before mounting it and driving off. He drove down the streets and didn't see anyone.

"Everyone's gone. Oh no, I've gotta check on my nest. I hope everyone is okay. Come on, faster!" he shouted as he pushed his duel runner as fast as it could go. He arrived back and checked the place. "Anyone here? Say something. It's me, Crow. Stop messing around and come out, no more hide and seek," he called out, desperate to find anyone.

After searching for a few minutes, he realized they were all gone, but he also stumbled upon another realization. "The Dark Signers. They'll pay for this!" he shouted. He looked up and saw the mark of the giant floating in the sky before mounting his duel runner and driving towards it.

As Crow was driving, he saw a massive duel runner. Realizing it must be a Dark Signer, he jumped off a nearby ramp and landed in front of the runner, forcing the driver to stop. "Get out of my way!" the driver shouted. "Sorry pal, but you're not going anywhere," Crow said, but then he realized he recognized the duelist from the Fortune Cup.

"Wait a minute, I know you, you're Greiger. You're a Dark Signer? What are you after?" Crow asked. Greiger told him he was looking for Alex and Yusei, but Crow said Greiger wasn't going anywhere until he agreed to duel. "You're challenging me? Get real, you're not a Signer," Greiger pointed out, thinking Crow was beneath him.

"Listen here. The only thing that matters here is that you're a Dark Signer, and I'm gonna make sure you pay for what you did, and the only currency I accept is bitter defeat," Crow responded. "What are you talking about? I didn't do anything," Greiger said, being truthful as he had only become a Dark Signer after Devack's defeat.

"Don't try to play dumb with me. Your giant monster and freaky dark fog have taken everyone from Satellite, including the orphans I was taking care of. They were just innocent kids! How could you do that to them? But then I guess that's just how you Dark Signers operate, but I can tell you this: Not anymore. I'm gonna stop you!" Crow shouted.

"You speak to me of vengeance. I am on my own path to revenge and it doesn't involve you. My fight is with Goodwin, but before I deal with him, I'm going to stomp his little puppets one by one," Greiger resolved. Crow responded that if Greiger was going after his friends, he'd have to face him first.

"You don't get it. You're not a Signer, you aren't worthy of a battle with me," Greiger stated. "You know, I had a feeling you jerks wouldn't accept my challenge, so I got a little insurance," Crow said as he pulled out a black device with a timer that began counting down from 5 minutes.

"And just what is that?" Greiger asked. "It's an electromagnetic pulse charge, and when it goes off, that duel runner of yours is history, and if you think you can get away in time, you haven't seen me ride," Crow answered. "Huh, that's a bold move. Since you're so determined to destroy yourself, I guess I'll oblige you. Perhaps by dueling you, I can lure Yusei and Alex straight to me," Greiger responded.

Greiger and Crow drove to another part of town where they could duel. "This is a real shadow duel Crow. Once it starts, there's no going back, and when the final card is played, only one of us will walk away," Greiger reminded. "Well, you Dark Signers took everything I had. I'm already at a point of no return," Crow responded.

"Oh, and one little thing. Let's do this for real, no autopilot, no restrictions," he added. "I've gotta protect myself. If he summons an Earthbound Immortal, I'll need to be able to out maneuver his attack so I don't crash like Alex did," Crow thought to himself before asking Greiger if he was ready.

Greiger didn't say anything and pressed a button on his duel runner, activating the Speed World field spell as the whale geoglyph appeared, and Alex, Luna, Leo, Trudge, and Yusei all noticed it. "A whale symbol? That means there's a new Dark Signer. I should look into this," Alex said to himself as he turned to investigate.

"I don't remember Mina mentioning anything about a Dark Signer with a whale mark," Trudge said as they were driving. "That's because there wasn't one, which means they've turned someone new into a Dark Signer," Yusei guessed. "Yusei, my mark isn't glowing. Whoever dueling isn't a Signer," Luna pointed out.

Leo asked if it could be Alex, but that theory was disproved when he drove out of the shadow of a crumbling building and up next to them. Yusei asked Alex what he was doing there and Alex said he wanted to investigate the whale geoglyph himself. "So if you're not dueling, and it's not a Signer dueling, then who is it?" Yusei asked.

Back at the duel, Greiger and Crow were getting ready to start. "Since we're freestyling this duel, how about whoever passes the first corner gets the first turn?" Crow offered. Greiger agreed and asked how they should count down. "We'll use this," Crow said as he tossed the device from earlier onto the street, about a minute left on the timer.

"Don't worry, I lied earlier, that's just my alarm clock. We start when the timer hits 0, deal?" Crow asked. Greiger admitted Crow had him going, but Crow responded that Greiger would be going second once Crow passed the corner. The timer hit 0 and they both took off.

Crow: 4000 LP

Greiger: 4000 LP

"His runner has a lot more horsepower than mine, but I gotta remember: It's not how fast you drive, but how skillfully you arrive," Crow thought to himself as he accelerated a bit, pulling ahead of Greiger. "What are you doing? Do you seriously think you beat me around the first corner? Let me show you what real speed looks like," Greiger said as he floored his duel runner, pulling ahead of Crow.

They approached the first corner, but due to the size of Greiger's runner, it skidded to the edge of the track. Greiger thought he had Crow beat, but Crow leaned into the inside of the corner and sped up, passing Greiger and making it through first. "You wanted me to take the turn as fast as I could, didn't you?" Greiger asked, realizing Crow set him up.

"Of course I did. With a big frame like that taking a curve at that speed, I knew you'd slide out to the edge and leave an opening for me. My runner is smaller, which lets me maneuver better than you. And it looks like the first move is mine, so I draw. And from my hand, I summon Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame," Crow declared.

Level 4/Dark/Winged Beast

ATK 1800/DEF 1200

He then placed a single card face-down and ended his turn. "It's my move. First I summon Trap Reactor - Y FI from my hand in attack mode," Greiger said as he summoned one of the same monsters he played against Alex in the Fortune Cup.

Level 4/Dark/Machine

ATK 800/DEF 1800

"And now I activate Diving Exploder's special ability. By sending it from my hand to the graveyard, the attack and defense of our monsters are switched this turn, which means your bird is about to be grounded, Crow," he explained as his monster appeared and dropped an explosive on the track.

Shura: 1800-1200 ATK

Reactor: 800-1800 ATK

"So you're saying going first got me nothing?" Crow asked as his opening move backfired. "Nothing but trouble. Now Trap Reactor, attack Shura the Blue Flame!" Greiger ordered as his monster launched a barrage of laser blasts at Crow's monster, destroying it and shaking Crow's runner a bit.

Crow: 3400 LP

Crow started to regain his balance, but his duel runner hit a large rock in the street, getting knocked up into the air and off the duel track. As he was flying through the air, his mind drifted to the kids that were taken by the Dark Signers. "If I lose here, I'll let everyone down," he thought to himself.
