Greiger's field: Dark Flattop
"That's quite the ship Greiger. It's a shame I'm gonna have to sink it along with all your life points," Crow said confidently. "We'll see about that. Because of Darksea Rescue, if it's sent to my graveyard for a synchro summon, I can draw 1 card. In addition, if the monster I synchro summoned was called out in defense mode, I can draw another card," Greiger explained.
"With that out of the way, I activate Dark Flattop's special ability, which means I get to bring Sky Fire back from my graveyard," he continued. "You've gotta be kidding me! And I just got rid of it!" Crow shouted. "Welcome back, Flying Fortress SKY FIRE!" Greiger shouted as his ace revived.

"I can't say you've been missed," Crow lamented once the monster returned to the field. "And now that he's back, I'll celebrate with a bang by using his effect to destroy your Blackwing - Armor Master," Greiger declared as Sky Fire unleashed a barrage of energy blasts on Armor Master, destroying him.
"And with him out of the way, I can now set my sights on the only monster you have left," he said as his monster launched a missile at Gale the Whirlwind, destroying it and sending Crow spinning out of control.

When they caught up to him, he was lying face-down in the street and his duel runner was lying on its side. "Crow! Are you alright?" Yusei asked, fearing the worst. "Don't even bother trying to get back up. I'm afraid your runner's down for the count and so are you," Greiger said.
"Crow, are you okay?" Alex asked as he began to approach Crow, but Crow held his hand up for Alex to stop. "Stay back, if you interfere, I'll lose. And losing isn't an option," he said weakly. "Well, from the way things look up here, neither is winning," Greiger condescended.
"Crow this is crazy, let me take over for you. I'll even use your deck," Alex offered. Greiger suggested Crow accept Alex's offer, but Crow refused. "No way. I owe it to the kids to see this through myself," he said as he made it to his duel runner, but collapsed against it.
"Crow, don't be foolish, you can barely even stand up, and what about your duel runner?" Alex asked. "She may be down, but she's not out yet," Crow said as he twisted the throttle and his duel runner righted itself and made a U-turn to pick up Crow. "See, what did I tell ya?" he said before he started walking towards his duel runner, but he collapsed before he could make it.
Yusei called out for his friend, unable to do anything to help him. "Looks like he's down for the count, and if he can't duel, then he loses," Greiger stated. "No he won't. Because I'm taking over for him," Alex said as he began walking to Crow. "Alex, don't do this. I can still-" Crow tried to argue, but his body betrayed him.
"Crow, you did great, now take a rest. I promise that Greiger won't win, and I'll beat him using your cards. Consider this my way of thanking you for helping me find my way off the same path as Greiger," Alex said as Yusei walked over and the two of them got Crow up and placed him on Alex's duel runner.
After making sure Crow wouldn't fall off, Alex made his way over to Crow's duel runner, getting a feel for the controls before starting the duel back. "Well, while not the circumstances I would've preferred, I guess we finally got to have our rematch," Greiger pointed out.
Alex nodded before he took off, Greiger following close behind. "It's a shame you couldn't see this duel to the end yourself, Crow. I know that if you had the choice, you would've never backed down, because like me and Alex, you're fighting for the memories of those you care about," Greiger thought to himself as he remembered his brother and sister.
"Although we grew up in different parts of the world, we shared a common goal. Like you, I hoped that dueling would provide an out to the life that had been dealt to my friends and family. I believed that if I shared my knowledge of dueling with those close to me, that someday their dreams of a better life would come true. But because of Goodwin, their dreams vanished along with their home," he said to himself before he placed one card face-down and ended his turn.

"I've gotta figure out a way to take down his Flying Fortress Sky Fire and his Dark Flattop. If I take out one without the other, I'll lose next turn," Alex thought to himself as looked over Crow's cards. "I place one card face-down and end my turn," he declared. "I hope Alex knows what he's doing," Yusei thought to himself as he and Crow caught up to the duel. "It's my move then," Greiger said as he started his turn.

"Looks like someone's too scared to attack," the Dark Signer mocked. "Remember who you're talking to. We'll see who's too scared to attack, after all, don't forget about my two face-downs," Alex responded. "If Greiger attacks, his monster is going down," he thought to himself, banking on his face-down.
"I activate Sky Fire's special ability. By discarding a card, I can destroy one of your face-downs, so how about the one you set last turn?" Greiger suggested as Sky Fire fired at the card in question, revealing it to be Mirror Force. Alex grunted in frustration that his card got destroyed.
"The trap card Mirror Force. If I had attacked carelessly, then I would've lost my monster. But now there's nothing protecting you, and due to the effect of the Darksea Float I discarded, I can draw 1 card," he explained. "Then come and get me!" Alex taunted.
"If you insist. Flying Fortress SKY FIRE, attack directly and end this duel! It's over!" Greiger shouted. "It's over for your monsters. I play the trap Blackwing Backlash! If you attack me directly when there are 5 or more Blackwing monsters in my graveyard, all your monsters are destroyed," Alex explained as a blast shot from his trap, destroying both of Greiger's monsters.
"How could this have happened?" Greiger asked in shock. "It's your own fault. Maybe next time you won't go around underestimating me or my friends," Alex advised, but Greiger just smiled.
"I play the Contaminated Earth trap card! Since you destroyed 2 of my monsters, including a level 8 or higher monster, I can summon an Earthbound Immortal from my deck," the Dark Signer explained. Alex couldn't believe Greiger had such a card, and Yusei commented "This just got a whole lot worse." "Meet my Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua!" Greiger shouted.

"Luckily for you, since he was summoned by Contaminated Earth, he can't attack or use his effects this turn, so I end my turn," he concluded. "I draw!" Alex shouted.

"I better think this out. Greiger's got the lead in life points, not to mention he's got an Earthbound Immortal out. I gotta beach that thing, or I'll be washed up. Wait, this card is just what I need," he thought to himself as he pulled a specific card from his hand. "I summon Blackwing - Fane the Steel Chain in attack mode."

"If that's all you have to attack with, then maybe you should just pull over and surrender," Greiger suggested. "No dice Greiger. Fane the Steel Chain, attack him directly!" Alex ordered as his monster threw a kunai at Greiger, striking him in the chest.
Greiger: 1300 LP
"Oh please, that didn't even sting," the man mocked. "No, but this might. I activate my monster's special ability. When it attacks you directly, it can switch one of your monsters into defense mode and keep it there until the end of my next turn, which means your Earthbound Immortal can't attack me next turn," Alex explained.
"Way to go Alex!" Crow congratulated, impressed Alex was using the Blackwings so well. "I place one card face-down and end my turn," Alex concluded. "It's my move then," Greiger declared as he drew a card.

"You may have forced my monster into defense mode, but who said he had to be in attack mode to deal out damage? By skipping his attack for the turn, you get slammed for damage equal to half his defense points," Greiger explained as the dorsal fin of his monster appeared out of the ground and headed towards Alex.
The fin collided with him, causing him to lose his balance a little bit. "Hang in there!" Yusei shouted.

"Now I activate the continuous trap Basara. By sacrificing one of my monsters, I can destroy a monster with a higher level and deal 800 points of damage to its controller, so I release my Darksea Rescue in order to destroy your Fane the Steel Chain," he explained as a column of fire shot form his trap at Alex's monster.
"If Alex doesn't stop this, he's done for!" Yusei shouted. "Which is why I play the Explosion Guard trap card! With it your effect is negated, and you get hit with 500 points of damage," Alex explained as cluster of depth mines appeared and protected his monster, catching Greiger in their blast.
Greiger: 800 LP
"I should've expected a move like that from you. I end my turn," Greiger conceded. "I've got one shot at this. I've got one trap left in my hand. I have to draw the right card, for Crow and everyone else whose fate is riding on this. Here goes everything," Alex thought to himself. He drew his card and looked at it, seeing the very card he'd been hoping to draw.

"Alright, with 2800 attack points, Alex can finish Greiger in one hit!" Yusei shouted. Greiger smirked and explained that since his Earthbound Immortal is in defense mode, Alex can't conduct his battle phase. "In that case, I can activate Silverwind's effect. By cashing in his attack this turn, I can destroy up to two monsters whose defense points are less than his attack points," Alex explained.
Silverwind raised his sword and was about to slice through Grieger's monster when the image of two children appeared inside, a boy and a girl. "Please, don't do this," the girl pleaded. "Who are they?" Alex asked in confusion. "Please, help us get back to our village," the kids begged. "Village? Wait a minute!" Alex exclaimed, the pieces falling into place.
"Enough stalling Alex. If you're not gonna finish your move, then allow me to," Greiger said as he pulled up beside Alex. Alex told Greiger to look at his monster, but Greiger just asked what Alex was playing at. Yusei shouted for Greiger to do it, and he conceded.
Greiger looked up and saw numerous people trapped inside his Earthbound Immortal, including his siblings Max and Annie. "Greiger, it's us, please help," they pleaded. "This can't be," Greiger said in disbelief. Alex asked if they were the missing people from Greiger's village, and he confirmed they were.
"Why would they be inside my Earthbound Immortal? Unless… the Crimson Dragon didn't destroy my village, the Dark Signers did!" Greiger shouted, angered that he had been deceived and used. "Greiger, now that you've figured out the truth, you have to stop this duel!" Yusei shouted.
Greiger apologized for his actions and moved his hand to surrender the duel, but his Dark Signer Mark flared, causing him pain as purple mist began seeping off Greiger's body. "You'll forfeit nothing. This is nothing but a Signer trick. They are your true enemy, so show them and their comrades no mercy, and send them all to the Netherworld," a voice said in his mind.
Suddenly, Greiger's eyes glowed purple, and he was taken over by his Earthbound Immortal. "I'm afraid your tricks won't stop me from sending you all to the Netherworld," the spirit declared. "Greiger, you have to stop!" Alex shouted. Greiger shook his head, trying to keep control, but his hold was starting to slip.
"Get out of my head! Alex, you have to finish the duel. It's the only way to release my family and friends. Don't worry about me, just save them!" he shouted. Alex promised he would before Greiger was consumed by his Earthbound Immortal. "It's my turn, I draw! And I switch Chacu Challua into attack mode. Now, attack Alex directly!" the spirit commanded.
"Alex, I know you can win this!" Crow encouraged. "This duel is over!" the spirit shouted. "It will be when I activate the trap Parasite Mind! Your Earthbound Immortal may be immune to my spells and traps, but not yours. And this trap lets me take advantage of that by using the effect of your Basara for myself," Alex explained.
"Say what?!" the spirit exclaimed as his trap floated in front of Chacu Challua. "I sacrifice Silverwind in order to destroy your Earthbound Immortal!" Alex shouted as his monster turned into a pillar fire and was launched at Greiger's monster, piercing through it and releasing the spirits of the people trapped inside.

Everyone stopped where they were and Greiger fell off of his duel runner, and Alex and the others ran up to him. "Thank you Alex. Because of you, my people were able to return home," he said weakly. "No problem. You would've done the same for me," Alex responded.
"Stay strong. Defeat the Dark Signers and save your family. You too Crow. Yusei, thank you for helping me to see the truth, and for freeing me from the darkness of my heart. Stand strong, and most of all, stand together. For when you do, you hold more power than the Dark Signers ever will. Farewell my friends," Greiger said before he turned into dust and faded away.
"We won't let you down, I promise," Alex said, his resolve to stop the Dark Signers strengthened. "You're right, we won't stop until the Dark Signers are defeated," Yusei agreed. Back in Greiger's village, all the people had been returned safely. "What happened sis?" Max asked.
"I think we've been saved everybody!" Annie shouted. Just then, a shooting star flew overhead. "Check it out. That's a huge falling star," Annie said as she pointed it out to her brother. "You think Greiger can see it too? He always loved watching the sky at night," Max remembered.
"You know what? I bet he can," Annie agreed. Back in the Satellite, everyone had regrouped and were talking strategy. "So is Kalin next, Yusei?" Crow asked. "Yeah. We have some unfinished business to attend to," Yusei responded. "Good luck Yusei. I know you can beat him," Alex encouraged.
