Hundred-Eyes Dragon had just obliterated Yusei's Ghost Gardna, but Kalin wasn't satisfied just yet. "I'm not through yet, Yusei. I think it's time for Infernity Archfiend to get in on the action," Kalin suggested, but suddenly, Infernity Archfiend was surrounded by a white aura.

Archfiend: 1800-800 ATK

Kalin asked what happened to his monster, and Yusei explained that since Ghost Gardna was destroyed, its effect lowered Infernity Archfiend's attack points by 1000 until the end of the turn. "Grr, I end my turn," Kalin conceded. "My turn!" Yusei shouted.

"I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron in attack mode!"

"And now level 3 Junk Synchron tunes with level 2 Speed Warrior. The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Junk Warrior!"

"And now I activate the trap Synchro Striker Unit! This card becomes an equip card to synchro monster on my field and gives it an extra 1000 attack points, and I'm giving it to Junk Warrior," Yusei explained as an enormous laser cannon appeared next to his monster, Junk Warrior grabbing a hold of it.

Junk Warrior: 2300-3300 ATK

"Now Max Warrior, take out Infernity Archfiend!" Yusei shouted. "Nice try. I play the trap Infernity Force! When you attack an Infernity monster while I have no cards in my hand, this card destroys your attacking monster and lets me revive an Infernity monster from my graveyard, so I'm bringing back my Necromancer in defense mode," Kalin declared.

Level 3/Dark/Fiend

ATK 0/DEF 2000

"Junk Warrior, take out Hundred-Eyes Dragon!" Yusei ordered. Junk Warrior aimed its cannon and Kalin's monster before he fired it, sending a large energy blast that decimated it in one shot.

Kalin: 3700 LP

"Yusei destroyed Kalin's dragon!" Leo celebrated. "Which is exactly what Kalin wanted," Crow responded, remembering what happened when Kalin dueled Alex. "Since Hundred-Eyes Dragon was destroyed, I can add one card from my deck to my hand. Care to guess what card I'm picking, Yusei?" Kalin asked.

"I know exactly what card you're choosing, Kalin," Yusei responded. "Then you can look forward to seeing this card," Kalin said as he turned the card over, revealing his Earthbound Immortal. "I place two cards face-down and end my turn, and during my end phases, Junk Warrior loses 800 attack points due to the effect of Synchro Striker Unit," Yusei explained.

Junk Warrior: 3300-2500 ATK

"Yusei, after everything, you're still trying to save Kalin, aren't you?" Crow asked himself as he watched on. "Kalin, I will save you from destruction!" Yusei mentally promised.

Flashback

Sector Security had surrounded the building Yusei, Jack, Crow, and Kalin were in, and had shined spotlights over the entire front of the building. Kalin laughed at the thought of the fight to come, but was surprised when the others took off their duel disks and placed them on the table in the room.

"What are you guys doing? Aren't we going to fight together? This is our last duel!" Kalin exclaimed. "Kalin, you need to wake up," Jack responded. Crow pointed out that there was no way they could take on Sector Security. Yusei agreed and said they needed to try and escape.

"I'm tired of running from these guys. Let's end this here. Together we can kick these guys out of Satellite for good. This is our big moment!" Kalin argued. "We don't see eye-to-eye any more Kalin," Jack responded. "But we're still your friends. We came here to save you from Sector Security," Yusei said.

"This can't be happening. It wasn't supposed to go down like this," Kalin lamented before Sector Security began their attack. Yusei and the others all ran to avoid capture, but in the moment, they got separated from each other. Kalin got chased into a dead-end.

"Even if we escape from Satellite, we have nowhere else to go," he said to himself before an officer pulled into the entrance of the alley. "So I'll keep fighting, even if I'm all alone!" he declared as he prepared to face the officer. Kalin drew and summoned Vorse Raider in attack mode, but his opponent played Montage Dragon and destroyed Vorse Raider with ease.

The officer tried to hit Kalin with his duel runner, but he managed to grab onto an old ladder and avoid him. Kalin dropped off the ladder onto the back of the officer's duel runner, and the officer took off, trying to shake Kalin, but he kept his grip. Yusei ran towards the alley and saw Kalin, shouting for him to stop, but he didn't listen.

The officer wound up driving into a pile of crates, sending both himself and Kalin flying, and while Kalin was mostly fine, the officer took a hard fall and started bleeding from the side of his head. Kalin got to his feet, grabbing one of the broken boards, but before he could do anything, Yusei tackled him to the ground.

"Let go of me, Yusei! We have to get rid of Sector Security!" Kalin shouted as Jack and Crow ran up to them. They all managed to sneak off and hide in an abandoned building, Jack and Crow restraining Kalin so he wouldn't run off. "They're going to find us sooner or later," Jack pointed out.

Yusei looked at his friends and knew what needed to be done. "You guys look after Kalin," he said before he left the room. Yusei walked out of the building and was soon surrounded by Sector Security. "I'm the leader of the Enforcers! I'm the one who attacked Sector Security headquarters, the other three had nothing to do with it. Let them go and arrest me!" he shouted.

Yusei heard Crow call his name and turned to see several officers grouped around Jack and Crow, but Kalin wasn't with them. "Sorry kid, but we know you're not the one who attacked Security headquarters, he did," the lead officer said as he pointed to Kalin, who was being walked to the transport truck by two officers.

"And we also know he's the one who attacked one of our officers," he continued as he pointed to the officer Kalin caused to crash, who was being moved into an ambulance to be taken to a hospital. "Attacking an officer is a first degree offense. You'll never see him again. Of course, I guess it was noble of you to try and take the fall for your pal," the officer said as he patted Yusei on the shoulder.

Just as Kalin was about to put into the truck, he turned back and saw the lead officer pat Yusei on the shoulder before walking away. "How could you?! Yusei, you snitch! How could you sell out your best friend?!" Kalin shouted, thinking Yusei sold him out to Sector Security.

Yusei tried to explain, but the officers threw Kalin into the van before slamming the door shut, Kalin swearing revenge on Yusei.

End Flashback

"We all tried to save you back then Kalin, we really did!" Yusei shouted. "You betrayed me! You sold me out!" Kalin responded. Crow, who connected his duel runner to the duel feed, spoke up, telling Kalin that Yusei tried to hand himself over to Sector Security in Kalin's place.

"Why didn't you all battle alongside me until the end? You surrendered to Sector Security! That means you all sold out The Enforcers!" Kalin shouted. Yusei just watched on, unsure of what to say. "Yusei, do you know what happens to people who attack Security officers in the facility?" Kalin asked as he remembered the torture he endured.

"I was repeatedly attacked by the guards in the facility, day after day," he informed. "We tried to visit you, but they would never let us see you. Eventually, they told us you didn't make it, and that you…" Crow tried to say, but he couldn't bring himself to. "It wasn't as simple as that! I could've taken the beatings forever, but they took away my deck, the thing that meant more to me than my own life!" Kalin shouted.

Flashback

Kalin was sitting in his cell, thin as a scarecrow and looking like he hadn't slept in days when he heard a voice call out to him. "I'm a messenger of the afterlife. You must decide whether to end your life. What regrets will you leave behind in this world? If you become a Dark Signer, I will make your dreams come true," the voice offered. "I want… to get revenge on someone. And…" Kalin began to say before he expired.

End Flashback

"By becoming a Dark Signer, I vowed to get my revenge against you! With my Earthbound Immortal, I'll make you face the same fear I did! It's my turn!" Kalin shouted.

"I tribute Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer! Come forth, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!"

Level 10/Dark/Fiend

"Take a good look, Yusei. This is the same monster that nearly cast your little friend into the shadows, and now it's going to send you on a one-way trip to the Netherworld! Ccapac Apu, attack directly!" Kalin shouted. Kalin's monster raised its hand and brought it down towards Yusei.

"Kalin, if this fear I'm feeling now is the same fear that you felt, then I won't run away! I'll face your fear by defeating your Earthbound Immortal once and for all!" Yusei resolved to himself. "I play the trap card Baton of the Hero! This card lets me select the target of my opponent's attacks this turn, and I change the target of your attack to Junk Warrior!" he shouted as his monster moved in front of him, taking the Earthbound Immortal's attack.

Yusei: 2400 LP

"You may have used your monster to avoid a direct attack, but I'm not through yet. I activate Ccapac Apu's special ability! When it destroys your monster in battle, you take damage equal to the amount of attack points your monster had when it was destroyed," Kalin explained. "This is bad! Junk Warrior had 2500 attack points when it was destroyed, and Yusei only has 2400 life points left!" Crow pointed out.

"It's over!" Kalin shouted as his monster fired a beam of energy from its eye at Yusei. "I play the trap Burst Synchro Summon! With it, I can cancel the damage from your trap, but that's not all, because I also get to special summon a synchro monster from my extra deck whose attack power is the same as the damage that was negated with its effects negated," Yusei explained as a barrier formed around his duel runner, stopping the blast.

"Since the damage was 2500, that means Yusei can bring out Stardust Dragon!" Luna shouted as Yusei did just that.

Level 8/Wind/Dragon

ATK 2500/DEF 2000

"You can summon that worthless lizard if you want, but you're still going to lose! I play one card face-down and end my turn!" Kalin shouted. "My move!" Yusei declared as he drew.

Kalin: 7 SPC

Yusei: 4 SPC

As soon as Yusei started his turn, Kalin activated a trap called Brilliant Shrine Art, explaining that as long as he had it, he could change Yusei's attack target to his Earthbound Immortal. "In that case, I play Speed Spell - Angel Baton! When I have 2 or more speed counters, this card lets me draw 2 cards as long as I send one of them to the graveyard," Yusei explained.

"Next, due to the effect of the Stardust Xiaolong I just sent to my graveyard, when Stardust Dragon is on my field, I can special summon Xiaolong from my graveyard in attack mode.

Level 1/Light/Dragon

ATK 100/DEF 100

Yusei then placed a single card face-down and ended his turn. "My turn!" Kalin shouted.

Kalin: 8 SPC

Yusei: 5 SPC

"I activate the trap Superior Protector! By equipping it onto Stardust Dragon, you can't deal me battle damage except by attacking Stardust," Yusei explained. "You may have stopped me from attacking you directly, but I can still crush that pathetic dragon you love so much. Ccapac Apu, destroy Stardust Dragon!" Kalin ordered.

"I activate Superior Protector's other effect! By sending it to the graveyard, Stardust Dragon won't be destroyed by your attack!" Yusei shouted. "But you still take the damage, and since I'm activating my Wicked Trample continuous trap, you take twice as much damage since I'm not attacking you directly," Kalin explained as his Earthbound Immortal slammed its fist into Stardust Dragon.

Yusei: 1400 LP

Yusei: 4 SPC

The ground began to tremble from Ccapac Apu's attack, the earth splitting and sending Kalin towards the wall. Yusei shouted for Kalin and tried to get closer to him, extending his hand and shouting for Kalin to grab hold. "Yusei… why would you?" Kalin tried to ask, but Yusei cut him off.

"I was wrong, Kalin. Back then, I thought I could save you by sacrificing myself, but I was wrong! I can save a friend by believing in our bond!" he shouted. Suddenly, everyone's Signer marks began glowing. "Jack and Crow feel the same way I do, and our new friends support us! This duel was never to defeat you, it was to save my friend from the Dark Signers!" Yusei shouted.

"Yusei… It's too late!" Kalin responded as the ground collapsed further, dragging him closer to the wall. Yusei called out for his friend and everyone else's marks vanished, the mark of the Crimson Dragon appearing on Yusei's back. "Our marks have been transferred to Yusei," Luna pointed out.

"Our feelings have united. This is the same feeling I had before when I faced Alex," Yusei said to himself as he realized the top card of his deck was glowing as it had before. "Here goes. I draw!" he shouted.

Kalin: 9 SPC

Yusei: 5 SPC

"I understand now. This card holds our feelings so we can create a miracle. This is the card that will save you, Kalin! I summon the tuner monster Majestic Dragon!"

Level 1/Light/Dragon

"And now level 1 Majestic Dragon tunes with level 8 Stardust Dragon and level 1 Stardust Xiaolong! The shining stars come together to illuminate a new miracle! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro summon! Arrive in light, Majestic Star Dragon!"

Level 10/Wind/Dragon

"Due to Majestic Star Dragon's effect, it negates all of Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu's effects this turn and gains its effects for itself! Go, Sublimation Drain!" Yusei shouted as light began seeping out of Ccapac Apu's body, being absorbed into Majestic Star Dragon.

"Now Majestic Star Dragon, attack Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu! Go, Star Shine Shred!" Yusei shouted as Majestic Star Dragon cloaked itself in light and rammed into Kalin's Earthbound Immortal, piercing through the beast. Ccapac Apu exploded, sending a wave of darkness outward that knocked Kalin off his duel runner.

Kalin: 2900 LP

Yusei dismounted and ran to his friend. "Hang in there, Kalin! I won't leave you this time. I promise I'm going to save you," Yusei vowed. "Yusei, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu's effect deals damage equal to the attack points of monsters it destroys. In other words, I take 3000 more points of damage," Kalin pointed out.

Yusei realized what Kalin was saying, he had already lost. "When I became a Dark Signer, I made another wish. I wanted The Enforcers to have one more duel we couldn't have back then," Kalin informed as the barrier disappeared. "I couldn't hate you enough. How embarrassing. That duel, it wasn't what I asked for," Kalin said before he crumbled into dust.

Yusei stood up, his body trembling. "Kalin, you were my friend. For you and my friends, I promise to defeat the Dark Signers! Kalin!"
