In the bay between the city and Satellite, a man was driving a speedboat towards the Satellite. "I have to make things right," he affirmed to himself as he approached the Satellite. At the final control tower, Misty gazed at a picture of her and brother that she kept in a locket. "Toby, I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you," she said as she closed the locket, crying.

Across the Satellite, Alex slowly opened his eyes and saw everyone staring down at him. "What happened? And why are you all staring at me?" he asked. "You're okay!" Luna exclaimed as she threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly, pushing the breath out of his lungs.

"Luna, loosen up," Alex choked up as he tried to take in a breath. Luna apologized and let go of Alex, allowing him to breathe easily. Once he caught his breath, Alex asked how long he had been out for, Crow telling him it had been almost an hour. Suddenly Alex felt a pulse in his chest, and he doubled over.

"Alex, what's wrong?" Luna asked. Alex was panting hard and he had sweat dripping down his face from the pain. When he recovered, he looked up at all of them and told them Jack had just beaten a Dark Signer. Yusei asked Alex if he was sure, and he nodded in confirmation.

"I can't explain it, but I could feel it when she lost," Alex said. "If that's the case, then that means that Misty is the last of them," Luna pointed out. "I have to help Akiza," Alex said as he tried to get to his feet, but he staggered and nearly fell back onto the floor. Fortunately, Yusei managed to catch him before he fell.

"Slow down Alex. You're in no condition to be helping anybody," Yusei advised. "Sorry Yusei, but I'm not going to lose anyone else," Alex responded before he dissolved into the shadows and disappeared. Yusei asked what happened and Luna said Alex must've used his shadow teleportation.

"Come on, we've got to get to the last control tower. If Alex tries to duel in the shape he's in, there's a good chance he'll lose," Crow said as they all ran up the stairs. "Not to mention it's almost sundown. If Akiza doesn't seal the control tower before then, the gates of the Netherworld will open," Yusei pointed out.

Meanwhile, Akiza and Mina had arrived at the site of the control tower, which was an abandoned theme park, and the two split up to cover more ground. "Where are you Misty?" Akiza wondered to herself before she heard someone call out her name. She turned to where the voice came from and couldn't believe who it was.

"Alex?" Akiza asked. "I'm glad I found you before Misty did," Alex responded as he approached Akiza, but once he was in front of her, he stumbled, but she managed to catch him. "Careful. You definitely look like you've seen better days," Akiza noted. "I'm alright. It's just from my duel with Roman," Alex informed.

Akiza asked if the others were with him, but Alex told her he had come here by himself using his shadow teleportation. "Well, stick close to me. Misty is around here somewhere, and I don't want you to get hurt or absorbed by her immortal," Akiza advised.

Alex agreed and he and Akiza continued to look for Misty. They passed what was left of the park's hall of mirrors when the door opened. They looked inside and saw Misty's reflection in the mirrors. They ran after her, but once they entered, the door shut behind them, trapping them inside.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you to be here Alex. I take it Roman lost his duel?" Misty asked as her face was reflected in all the mirrors. "Yeah, and I'm here to settle the score with you after what you did to my parents," Alex responded. "Very well then. I'll face you both at once," Misty declared.

Meanwhile, Yusei and the others had arrived at the amusement park and split up to look for Alex and Akiza. "Alex, Akiza, Mina! Where are you guys?" Yusei called out. Suddenly, an old sign broke free and started to fall towards him. Someone called out to Yusei to move and he looked up and saw the sign, jumping to the side before it hit him.

While Yusei dusted himself off, the person who shouted the warning ran up, being the same person who was riding the boat earlier. "Hey, are you alright?" the stranger asked. "I am thanks to your heads up. Who are you?" Yusei asked. "That's right, we never met. I'm Sayer," the stranger introduced as he removed his hat and sunglasses.

"Wait, I thought you were beaten by a Dark Signer," Yusei asked, hearing about what happened from Akiza. "I was, but fortunately I made it out of the building before it collapsed, but I wasn't totally unscathed," Sayer informed as he moved his hair to the side, revealing a large burn scar on his face.

"So what are you doing here?" Yusei questioned. "I came to make sure Akiza is okay, as well as to tell Misty the truth about her brother's disappearance," Sayer answered. Back at the hall of mirrors, the duel was about to start. "Seeing as there are two of you, I'll have 8000 life points while you both have 4000 a piece, deal?" Misty offered.

Alex and Akiza both agreed and Misty laughed. "You know Akiza, I'm glad about your little bond you've developed with Alex. Now I can make you suffer through the same pain I did," Misty said before they all shouted "Let's duel!"

Akiza: 4000 LP

Alex: 4000 LP

"I'll take the first move. I play the Mirror Labyrinth field spell. With that activated, I think it's time to reminisce. Let's start by opening the first chapter to my sad story. I play the continuous spell Sad Story – Sorrowful Memories," Misty declared as the space around them turned black before changing to a large room in someone's home.

"Where are we?" Akiza questioned. Suddenly, a boy came into the room, calling out for his sister. He ran across the room over to his sister, who was none other than Misty. "I missed you Toby," Misty greeted. "Are we seeing Misty's memories?" Alex asked. "I got you this for your birthday," Toby said as he held up a small box.

"Thank you," Misty said as she took the box and opened it, seeing a gold locket inside. "It's beautiful. I'll put a picture of us inside it and keep it with me, always," Misty promised. "By the way, I met someone who has powers like me," Toby informed. "Really?" Misty asked, rather intrigued.

"Yeah. Her name is Akiza Izinski," Toby informed, shocking Akiza. "Even among the members of the Arcadia Movement, she's the most skilled," Toby informed. "Arcadia Movement? Toby, I don't know if I like the sound of this," Misty warned. "Don't get the wrong idea, it exists to help people, and I want to use my power to help others," Toby responded.

"He's Misty's brother?" Akiza asked as they were transported back to the hall of mirrors. "Due to the effect of my Sorrowful Memories, if any of us draw a monster card during our draw phases, we have to return that card to our decks," Misty informed.

"So I'm guessing the monsters already in our hands stay where they are?" Alex asked. "You are correct, and since I'm summoning Reptilianne Servant, yours are most definitely staying there," Misty answered as she summoned a snake-like monster.

Level 1/Dark/Reptile

ATK 100/DEF 100

"As long as this monster is out, none of us can summon a monster. Are you feeling helpless yet? Well, welcome to my world. I end my turn," Misty declared. "Glad to be here. I draw," Akiza said, but when she looked at the card she drew, she saw it was her Evil Thorn.

"Due to the effect of my spell card, the monster you've just drawn is returned to your deck," Misty pointed out. Akiza said nothing and returned her card to her deck before pulling another card out of her hand. "I place one card face-down and end my turn," she concluded. "It's my turn, I draw," Alex said before he looked at his card and saw it was a trap.

"As long as that monster is out, I can't summon anything. I'll just have to wait until I draw a card that can destroy it," he thought to himself as he looked over his hand. "I place a card face-down and end my turn," Alex concluded. Misty told Akiza and Alex to follow her into the maze, her reflection moving across the mirrors while her cards followed behind her.

Alex and Akiza just followed her deeper into the maze. "She's trying to run out our time. If I wasn't so out of it, I could just knock the mirrors down," Alex thought to himself. Misty came to a stop and began her turn. "I draw. And I play the spell card Sad Story – Unwavering Truth," Misty said as the field changed as Alex and Akiza were shown another memory.

Akiza realized they were standing in the Arcadia Movement building before she and Alex looked up and saw her walking through one of the halls as Toby ran up to her. "Miss Akiza! Hi. My name is Toby and it's really nice to meet you. I want to be just like you. So, what should I do?" Toby asked.

"Sayer will teach you. Just do what he tells you," Akiza said coldly before walking off. Meanwhile, the present Akiza watched the scene play out. "He was your brother?" she asked. "Yes. My brother, Toby. With Unwavering Truth in play, if any of us draw a spell card during the draw phase, then it's back to the deck and reshuffle time," Misty informed.

"I think I see where this is going," Akiza commented. "Now Reptilianne Servant, attack Alex directly!" Misty ordered as her monster leapt out of the mirror and sent a gust of wind at Alex, shattering some of the mirrors and spreading broken glass on the floor.

Alex: 3900 LP

Akiza called out to Alex, but he assured her he was okay. "I'm not done yet. Due to the effect of my Mirror Labyrinth field spell, since no player has level 5 or higher monster on the field, and my Reptilianne Servant is the only monster on the field, it can attack twice in a round, so strike Alex again!" Misty shouted as her monster attacked Alex again.

Alex: 3800 LP

Alex fell to one knee, holding his hand against his chest as he panted heavily. "Leave him alone Misty!" Akiza shouted. "Not a chance, Akiza. Now you understand the same pain I endured when you took Toby from me. And once I'm done with Alex, it's your turn," Misty threatened.

Alex grit his teeth and stood up. "I won't let you hurt Akiza. Even if I have to take every one of your attacks myself," he resolved. "How touching. I place one card face-down and end my turn," Misty concluded. "Alex is already in rough shape. I can't let this duel drag on much longer, but with Reptilianne Servant out, I can't summon any monsters. I've got to find a way to get that snake off the field," Akiza thought to herself.

"It's my move. I draw. And I place one card face-down and end my turn," she declared. "Looks like someone drew a trap card. Lucky for you," Misty commented. Alex started his turn, but since he drew his Dark Fusion spell, he had to return it to his deck. Not having any other moves, Alex just ended his turn.

"Some turn that was. I draw. I have to warn you, the next part is pretty emotional. You see, every story needs a gut-wrenching climax, full of heartbreak and loss, so I play the Sad Story – Atrocious Day spell card," Misty declared "Remember when you lost control and tore up downtown Domino? Toby went to see you duel that day, and I never saw him again," Misty informed as she showed them Akiza's rampage from when Alex and the others first saw her.

"So you think that I? There were no casualties that day! The investigators said that-" Akiza began to say before Misty cut her off with "Oh right, the investigation that was funded by Sayer and the Arcadia Movement. I'm sure there wasn't any cover up there." Akiza refused to accept it, arguing there was no way Sayer would do something like that.

"Accept it along with the fact that my Sad Story spell combo prevents us from drawing any new cards. Like someone who's lost someone they care about and can't find the strength to move forward without them," Misty taunted. "Don't listen, Akiza!" Alex shouted, causing Akiza to snap out of her confusion and look at him.

"Remember what you told me when I dueled Misty? How even though I had done bad things in my past I'm still a good person? Well, so are you. You didn't do anything to Toby. And even if you did, you didn't do it willingly. The truth is, Misty was looking for someone to blame, and you were the first person she found," Alex continued.

Akiza was touched by Alex's words, shedding a few tears. "And in any case, what you did to me and what you're doing to Akiza is no different than you're accusing her of, Misty," Alex pointed out as he turned to the Dark Signer. "Be quiet!" Misty shouted. "Thank you Alex. You truly are family to me. I play the trap Illusion Destruction, with it, your Servant is changed into face-down defense mode," Akiza explained, when suddenly Misty's monster exploded.

Misty explained her Reptilliane Servant is automatically destroyed when it's targeted by a spell or trap. "Looks like your ability to determine our fates is broken," Alex commented. "We'll see about that. I play the Sorrowful Chain trap card, and with it, I can summon my Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings from my deck," Misty explained.

Level 6/Dark/Dragon

ATK 1900/DEF 2600

"That's not good," Alex commented. "And it's about to get worse for you. Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings, attack Alex directly with Tragedy Stream!" Misty ordered before her monster unleashed a powerful blast on Alex, sending him flying.

Alex: 1900 LP

Akiza ran over to Alex, but he wasn't moving, and his eyes were closed. "Alex, please wake up!" she shouted, but Alex didn't move. Akiza got up slowly with her back to Misty. "Feeling helpless that you can't save your little brother? Well now you know exactly how I felt," Misty said callously.

"You know Misty, at first I felt sorry for you, but after this, I don't have an ounce of pity left for you," Akiza said with her fist clenched. "What? Do you think I care how you feel about me?" Misty asked. Akiza's powers then ran wild, and the limiter clip in her hair fell out and onto the ground.

Meanwhile in Alex's subconscious, he was coming to, in a sense. "Ow, that hurt," he commented as he lay flat on his back. "Yeah, she's really doing a number on you out there," a voice added beside him. Alex turned to the side and saw Alastor standing there.

"Long time no see," Alex greeted. "Yeah, well, it looks like you could use my help out there," his alter-ego commented. Alex said he was doing just fine, but as he tried to sit up, he lost his energy and collapsed back to the ground. "I can tell. Look, I care about Akiza too. I know we're pretty different from each other, but we have a lot in common, including our current goal," Alastor responded.

"How do I know you're not just trying to trick me into giving up control?" Alex asked, skeptical of his other self's intentions. "Well right now, I think you're just going to have to trust me," Alastor answered as he held his hand out to Alex. "Alright, I trust you," Alex conceded as he grabbed Alastor's hand.

In the physical world, darkness wrapped around Alex's body, creating a large black sphere. When it faded, Alex was standing up and wearing his armor from the Fortune Cup. "It's nice to see you again, Akiza," Alastor greeted as he turned to her.

"So you're both finally showing your true colors. In any case, due to Dragon Queen's special ability, since she dealt you damage, you have to discard 1 card from your hand while I draw 1 card from my deck, and since it's not the draw phase, my spells have no effect, meaning I get to keep it," Misty informed.

Alastor picked a card from his hand and sent it to the graveyard before Misty ended her turn. "I draw, not that it matters since I have to send it back to the deck, but I don't really care. I summon Witch of the Black Rose from my hand in attack mode," Akiza declared.

Level 4/Dark/Spellcaster

ATK 1700/DEF 1200

"And due to her special ability, I can draw one card from my deck, but if it's not a monster card, then my Witch is destroyed," she explained. "You must be desperate to use an effect like that," Misty commented. "It's not desperation if I have this: the Selected Future trap card. With it, I can declare one card name, and if it's in Akiza's deck, she can place it on top, and I choose Rose Fairy," Alastor explained.

Akiza's deck shuffled and the declared card moved to the top. "And what do you know, I drew a monster card. And due to the effect of Rose Fairy, since I got it outside of the draw phase, it can be special summoned," Akiza informed.

Level 3/Wind/Plant

ATK 600/DEF 1200

"And now level 4 Witch of the Black Rose tunes with level 3 Rose Fairy! Chilling flames will engulf the entire world! Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro summon! Appear, Black Rose Dragon!" Akiza shouted as her ace monster appeared and destroyed all the mirrors.

Level 7/Fire/Dragon

ATK 2400/DEF 1800

"Looks like someone lost their little hiding place," Alastor mocked. Just then, Yusei and Sayer arrived at the site of the duel. "There they are!" Yusei shouted. "Yeah, but look. They're both out of control," Sayer commented. Yusei looked closer and saw what he meant. "If we don't snap them out of it, who knows what they'll do once the duel is over," Yusei said grimly.
