Luna and Leo had arrived at the site of the duel and saw Akiza, Misty, and Alastor. "What's with the dome?" Leo asked, and Luna suggested they must've already started dueling. "I hope they're winning, for all our sakes," Leo commented. "This is for hurting my little brother. Black Rose Dragon, destroy Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings!" Akiza shouted as Black Rose Dragon breathed out a jet of black flames that cut through Misty's monster before carving a trench in the dirt.

"Woah, Black Rose Dragon's attack was real!" Leo exclaimed. "Which means Akiza's using her psychic powers again," Luna realized. "I end my turn, you're up little brother," Akzia said as she turned to Alastor. "Thank you. I draw, but since your spells are still active, it returns to my deck. Since I control no monsters, I can special summon Evil HERO Infernal Prodigy from my hand," Alastor explained.

"Now attack Misty directly with Molten Rage!" Alastor shouted as his monster formed a ball of molten lava in his hands before throwing it at Misty, pushing her back.

"I place 2 cards face-down, and due to Prodigy's effect, I draw 1 card during my end phase. Your move," he conceded. "Looks like it's time for me to get serious. Come forth, ancient seal!" Misty shouted as she raised her hand, causing the lizard geoglyph to appear around them.
"I draw. But due to my Sad Story spell combo, the card I've drawn is automatically returned to my deck. During my standby phase, I activate the effect of Dragon Queen in my graveyard. By sending my Sorrowful Memories spell card to my graveyard, I can summon her back to the field," she explained.

"And now that she's back, I play the Reptilianne Rage equip spell. This will give her 800 more attack points.

Misty ordered her monster to attack Black Rose Dragon, but Akiza smirked and pressed a button on her duel disk. "I play the trap card Rose Blizzard, which puts your monster in defense mode, canceling your attack," she explained as a gust of wind laced with rose petals blew from her trap, pushing back Dragon Queen.
"Which allows me to play this, the trap card known as Tragedy. If your monster in attack mode changes to defense mode, all the monsters on your field in defense mode are destroyed," Alastor explained as an energy blade shot from his trap at Misty's monster, cutting it in two.
"So you both managed to evade that one. But because of Reptilianne Rage, one of your monsters loses 800 attack points, and I choose Black Rose Dragon," Misty declared.
Black Rose Dragon: 2400-1600 ATK
Misty placed a single card face-down and ended her turn. "This is getting intense," Leo commented as he and Luna watched on. Yusei then called out to the twins as he and Sayer ran up to them. "Yusei, Akiza and Alex are dueling, but they're not themselves," Luna informed. "I know. We have to figure out how to snap them out of it," Yusei responded.
"It's my move Misty. Now Black Rose Dragon, attack Misty directly!" Akiza ordered. "I activate the Magic Cylinder trap card, so your attack is negated, and you take damage equal to your monster's attack points," Misty explained as two cylinders appeared on her field, Black Rose Dragon's attack going in one before launched at the other at Akiza.
"I play the Engagement Destiny spell card. This will halve the damage to Akiza, but I receive the other half," Alastor informed as a metal ring appeared in the path of Black Rose Dragon's attack, splitting it in half and sending the other half to him.

"I summon Dark Verger in defense mode and end my turn," Akiza concluded.

"My move. I play the spell card Riryoku. With it I can transfer half the attack points of one monster on the field to another monster of my choosing for this turn. Since I don't think Akiza will mind, I transfer half of Black Rose Dragon's attack points to Earthshaker this turn," Alastor said as a red aura surrounded Black Rose Dragon before transferring to his monster.

"Now attack Misty with Molten Rage!" Alastor shouted as his monster launched a ball of molten rock at the Dark Signer.

"I place one card face-down and end my turn," he concluded.
"It's my move. And during my standby phase, I activate Dragon Queen's special ability. So by sending my Sad Story – Unwavering Truth to the graveyard, she revives once again. Next I summon Reptilianne Gardna in defense mode," Misty declared.

"Now Dragon Queen, attack Black Rose Dragon!" she shouted as her monster unleashed a blast of energy from its mouth at Black Rose Dragon, destroying it.

"And due to her special ability, you have to discard one card to the graveyard while I draw 1 card from my deck. Next, I activate the spell card Goblin Thief, which takes 500 of your life points and gives them to me."

Misty then ended her turn, passing off to Akiza. "Thank you, I draw. And I play the Fragrance Storm spell card. By destroying Dark Verger, I can draw a card, and if I happen to draw a plant type monster, I can draw again. The card I've drawn is Copy Plant, meaning I can draw again. And now I'll summon Copy Plant in defense mode," Akiza stated.

"And now I activate Dark Verger's effect from my graveyard, letting me summon it back in attack mode. I place a card face-down and end my turn. It's your move Alastor," Akiza concluded. "Thank you, I draw. Now Earth Shaker, attack Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings!" he ordered.

"And due to his special ability, I can add Dark Fusion from my deck to my hand. I place one card face-down and end my turn," Alastor finished. "I draw!" Misty shouted before she looked and saw she drew the card she had been waiting for. "This duel is over. First, I activate Dragon Queen's effect again, allowing her to be revived by sending Atrocious Day to the graveyard," Misty said as she revived her dragon again.
"That dragon just doesn't know when to quit," Alastor commented. "Now I play the Advance Force spell card. Due to its effect, if I sacrifice Dragon Queen for a summon, it counts as two monsters, which means I can sacrifice it in order to summon Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua!" Misty shouted.
Level 10/Dark/Reptile

"That's not good is it?" Leo asked. "We've gotta stop them!" Yusei shouted. "Wait. Yusei, didn't you say your duel disk has a live feed function?" Sayer asked. Yusei saw what Sayer was getting at as he engaged the feature and held his duel disk up to Sayer. "Misty, I need you to listen to me," the man said.
"Sayer? I thought Carly took care of you," Misty commented. "Misty, you have to know the truth about your brother. He's alive, and he's okay!" Sayer shouted. "What?! You're lying to me!" Misty responded. "Please listen. It happened the day Akiza tore up downtown Domino. Your brother was in the crowd and wound up being trampled as people were fleeing. We found him and sent him to one of our facilities for treatment," Sayer explained.
Misty asked why she never saw Toby after the accident, and Sayer explained he had gotten amnesia, and since he was new to the movement, they hadn't had a chance to record any of his personal information before the accident. "I'm so sorry Misty. I always covered up these sorts of accidents because I don't want to shake anyone's faith in the Arcadia Movement," Sayer confessed, feeling guilty about his past actions.
"I wanted the Arcadia Movement to be a safe haven for psychic duelists, but I was wrong to hide the truth from everyone. I've made many mistakes, and I'm truly sorry for what you've gone through, but you must believe me when I tell you that your brother is okay! I can even take you to where he is myself," Sayer promised.
"Toby, you're really okay. Forgive me Akiza. It wasn't your fault, and I am so sorry. And Alex, I'm so sorry for what I've done to you and your parents," Misty apologized as her eyes returned to normal. Little did she know that Alex heard her in his subconscious. Alastor's armor dissolved, and when it faded away, his eyes opened to reveal that Alex was back in control.
"I heard what you said Misty, and I forgive you," Alex responded, realizing he had held onto his anger for too long. "Thank you, but I'm afraid the best atonement I can offer you is my surrender," Misty as she raised her hand to her duel disk, but before she could surrender, purple mist began to come off Misty as a voice spoke in her mind.
"I will not allow you to forfeit this duel," her Earthbound Immortal said. Alex realized the same thing that happened to Greiger was happening to Misty. "Misty, you have to fight it!" he shouted. "I can't! My Immortal is too powerful," Misty responded as she fought to stay in control. "You must defeat them. You must defeat them both!" Ccarayhua shouted in Misty's mind.
"Akiza, you have to snap out of it! Akiza!" Yusei shouted. "I know that voice. Yusei?" Akiza asked. She blinked for a few moments, returning to her senses and saw Misty across the field. "Akiza, Alex, I can no longer stop this duel of my own will. The darkness is too strong," Misty said.
Akiza shouted at Misty to keep fighting, confident she could beat back the darkness. "It's too powerful, I can't fight it any longer!" Misty shouted as she clutched the sides of her head, her eyes clenched shut. She then opened her eyes, which were glowing purple. "So I think I'll fight you instead, Signer, and send you to the Netherworld," the spirit said.
"You two have no choice but to finish this duel!" Yusei shouted. "We plan on it," Alex responded, although he knew between himself and Akiza, only one of them would be leaving the duel. "Now Ccarayhua, attack Akiza directly!" the spirit ordered. "I activate the trap card Krystal Avatar!" Alex shouted as his trap changed into a crystalline monster and moved in front of Ccarayhua.
Level 4/Light/Warrior

"This trap can only be played when my opponent declares a direct attack with a monster that has more attack points than my life points. Now Krystal Avatar's attack points become equal to my life points, and it becomes your attack target instead of Akiza. And if you destroy it, you take damage equal to its attack points," Alex explained.

"But wait, if Ccarayhua attacks it, then Alex will lose!" Leo exclaimed. "Alex, you can't!" Yusei shouted. "This is my choice, Yusei. I know you can beat her Akiza. I love you sis," Alex said as Ccaryhua brought his fist down on Krystal Avatar, causing shards of it to strike Misty and Alex, knocking Alex to the ground.

Akiza ran over to Alex and held him in her arms. "Why did you sacrifice yourself for me?" Akiza asked. "You're like a sister to me. And besides, I'd rather I be the one to lose instead of you. I know you can win," Alex responded before he dissolved into shadows, leaving nothing but his duel disk behind.
Akiza screamed out in anguish as she slammed her fist into the ground, crying over losing Alex. "How pathetic. Sacrificing himself just to prolong your suffering. I place a card face-down and end my turn," the spirit concluded. "He wasn't pathetic. That act wasn't out of foolishness, it was out of love and trust. Alex trusted me to beat you, and that's what I'm going to do," Akiza vowed.
"Then show me what you can do, Signer," the spirit taunted. "With pleasure, I draw. And first I activate Copy Plant's special ability, making it level 2 just like my Dark Verger. Next I summon Hedge Guard in attack mode," Akiza declared.

"With it on my field, I play the Shining Rebirth spell card. By sending the necessary monsters from my field to the graveyard, I can synchro summon a monster that's in my graveyard. I send my three monsters to the graveyard to resurrect my Black Rose Dragon!"

"And now I activate her special ability. When she's summoned, her special ability destroys every card on the field. But due to my Shining Rebirth, Black Rose Dragon can't be destroyed this turn," Akiza explained.
"I activate the Doom Gazer trap card! When an effect that destroys cards on the field is activated, I can activate this card and deal you 300 points of damage for every destroyed card. So with 8 cards being destroyed, you take 2400 points of damage," the spirit informed.
Suddenly, Akiza could hear the real Misty's voice. "Akiza, listen, you owe it to the Signers and Alex. You must keep fighting," she said. Akiza asked Misty if she was sure about what she was saying, and Misty confirmed she was. "Don't let your brother's sacrifice be in vain," Misty pleaded.
"I play the trap Nature's Reflection! This trap reflects the damage from your effect right back at you," Akiza explained as a beam of energy shot from Misty's trap at Akiza, but a large stone appeared on Akiza's field, deflecting the blast back at Misty.

Everyone ran up to Akiza, asking if she was okay. Akiza walked past them and picked up Misty's locket before going back to pick up Alex's duel disk. "Alex, I'll never forget you or the time we spent together," she said as she said a tear. "Everyone, look," Leo said as he pointed to the horizon.
"The sun is setting, and the last tower hasn't been sealed," Trudge pointed out. "At least everyone that has been absorbed by the Earthbound Immortal have been returned, right?" Mina asked. In the streets of New Domino City, everyone who had been absorbed were reappearing in the streets, including Alex's parents.
"We're back," Alexis said. "Alex and the others must have defeated the Dark Signers," Jaden realized, not knowing the truth. Suddenly in the Satellite, the ground began to shake violently. "What's happening? Why is the ground shaking?" Yusei asked before a pillar of light appeared in New Domino City before morphing into a condor geoglyph. "Another Dark Signer? How can that be?" Yusei asked.
