Down in the underwater city of Mertopia, inside one of the city's many grottos, an orange furred Merhog with a sea blue muzzle, lipstick, a sea blue body, yellow gloves with webbed fingers, a long yellow fishtail and yellow scales covering her chest was sitting on a rock, dipping her tail in the water.
This Merhog was Merna the Merhog, an old love interest of Sonic the Hedgehog. Merna sighed in boredom as she tried to think of something to do. "What should I do today...?" She wondered out loud before an idea struck her mind. "Of course! I'll just summon a surface dweller to Mertopia and have them spend a whole day with me as a Merbian!" She said, snapping her fingers.
"Alright, time to put my Merbian magic to work..." Merna told herself as she placed her hands together and shut her eyes to use her Merbian magic to summon a Mobian to Mertopia.
Suddenly, Sonia the Hedgehog, the purple furred sister to Sonic the Hedgehog appeared in Mertopia, landing in the water with a gasp. "What the?! Where am I?!" She questioned before looking down to see that her clothes had vanished: She now only wore a light brown seashell bra as her shoulders, arms, belly and back were bared and exposed.
Sonia's legs and feet vanished too: She now possessed a light brown fishtail with a waistband. She had transformed: She was now a Merhog, having been turned into one by Merna's Merbian magic. The newly turned Merhog gasped in shock. "Ohmigosh, I'm a..."
"Merhog." Merna finished with a smile before she swam over to Sonia. "Welcome to Mertopia. My name is Merna. What's yours?" She asked Sonia kindly.
"I'm Sonia...Sonia the Hedgehog...I'm the sister of Sonic the Hedgehog..." Sonia replied somewhat meekly.
Merna gasped. "You're Sonic's sister?! I met your brother years ago! Him and his best friend Tails helped me save Mertopia back then!" She told the purple Merhog.
Sonia was a bit surprised at that. "Sonic saved an underwater city full of Merhogs years ago? That's something I wouldn't expect from him..." She replied, scratching her head for a bit.
"Well, he did do so!" Merna then told her.
"Alright, I'll take your word for it then..." Sonia took a deep breath. "How long will I stay like this?" She asked Merna as she gestured to her new Merbian tail.
"A day. Wanna see under the surface with me? I can show you around my underwater world." Merna offered Sonia with a smile as she held out her hand to the purple Merhog.
"Might as well, since I'm going to be stuck like this for a day." Sonia nodded as she took Merna's hand.
"Alright, let me teach how to swim with your new tail then." Merna smiled some more as the two Merhogs dove under the water and swam off together. Sonia was a quick learner in swimming with her new Merbian tail, and within a matter of minutes, she could swim around without needing Merna's hand.
Sonia's veins rushed in excitement and wonder as she swam through the ocean with Merna. She could now breath and talk underwater, and she had a wide smile on her face as she looked around her, looking at the world full of wonder under the sea.
Merna swam next to her, holding an equal smile as the two Merhogs moved their tails up and down to swim through the ocean. They soon stopped as Merna pointed something out to her: A dolphin had swam up to the two Merhogs. It chirped happily at them, and Merna giggled and pet the dolphin, with Sonia doing the same thing.
"Wow...I can't believe that I'm petting a dolphin...While I'm half fish myself, no less." Sonia said with a smile as she continued to pet the dolphin.
Merna giggled a little bit. "I told you this would be a lot of fun!" She replied as she and Sonia quit petting the dolphin as it chirped happily once again and swam off again. "So, what do you wanna do now?" She asked Sonia with a smile.
Sonia thought about it. "How about we go explore a sunken ship?" She suggested with a smile.
"Sure! I'd be down for that!" Merna replied as she took the lead and swam off towards a sunken ship with Sonia. They soon came across a sunken ship and swam inside.
"Wow, I never thought I'd explore a sunken ship as a Merhog!" Sonia said as she looked around in awe.
Merna giggled a bit more. "And it's gonna get better once we take a look inside this treasure chest here!" The orange Merhog replied as she and Sonia swam over to a treasure chest that was sitting inside the sunken ship and began to look inside the treasure chest.
Sonia gasped happily as she got a pearl tiara and a pearl necklace from the chest before putting the pearl necklace around her neck and placing the pearl tiara on her head. "How do I look, Merna?" The purple Merhog asked the orange Merhog as she struck a pose while wearing her pearl tiara and pearl necklace.
"As a real Merhog princess." Merna giggled. "How about we head back to my grotto in Mertopia so I can give you a little makeup to complete the look?" She offered the purple Merhog with a smile.
Sonia gasped happily once more. "Really?! I'd love that!" She replied.
Merna giggled a bit more. "Well, let's get going then~!" She replied as she and Sonia left the shipwreck to swim back to Mertopia.
Once the two Merhogs arrived back at Merna's grotto in Mertopia, Merna seated Sonia at her makeup table and began applying makeup to the purple Merhog's face, giving her some eyeliner and the like. Once Merna was finished, she showed Sonia the makeup work she had done.
"Ta-da~!" Merna said to Sonia.
Sonia gasped happily, with her sparkles in her eyes. "Amazing~! Thank you, Merna!" She beamed.
"Anytime, Sonia. Glad you like it." Merna smiled.
Later, once Sonia's day as a Merhog was up, she and Merna sat in a hot spring in Mertopia together. Sonia still had the jewelry and makeup on. "You were right, Merna. Spending the whole day as a Merhog was one of the most fun things I've ever done. Too bad it's time for me to go home again." The purple Merhog sighed a bit.
Merna gave Sonia a hug. "I was happy to give you the best time possible here down under the sea, Sonia. You can keep the jewelry you found from that treasure chest as a souvenir of your visit to Mertopia, alright?" She said with a smile.
Sonia smiled at that. "Awwww, thanks, Merna!" She said as she hugged the orange Merhog back. "Well, go ahead and use your Merbian magic to send me back to my surface home." She added.
Merna smiled and nodded as she used her Merbian magic to teleport Sonia back to the surface world. Once Sonia was gone, the orange Merhog sighed in satisfaction. "Man, that was quite a fun day...I should do that again sometime..." She told herself as she leaned back and relaxed in the hot spring.
