"Don't you think this is a little suspicious?" James asked, as he trailed behind Sirius in the hall.
"What? No, we are students, it's perfectly normal for students to go to the library," Sirius responded.
"When's the last time you even stepped foot in the library?" James responded.
"Fine don't come," Sirius replied, rolling his eyes.
"And leave you alone to talk to your brother?" James asked laughing. "Fat chance!"
As the two rounded the corner and came in view of the library, they both lowered their voices.
"Well what if he isn't here?" James whispered.
"He'll be here," Sirius responded.
"How do you know?" James pressed.
"He might as well be in Ravenclaw for the amount of time he has his noise pressed into a book," Sirius stated.
They both walked into the dead silence of the library, and stood in the threshold awkwardly. A few people turned to give them odd and questioning looks, but for the most part, everyone was too busy studying to give them much notice.
"Look there's Mooney," James whispered excitedly, indication to a table near the far window, with a large stack of books piled beside him.
"Excellent," Sirius grinned.
The two made their way across the library towards their friend; they were less than ten feet away when Remus chuckled softly.
"What is it that you two have done now?" he asked not looking up.
"How did you know it was us?" James asked.
"What makes you think we did something?" Sirius questioned, in mock outrage.
Remus sighed, putting his quill down as he looked at his two friends who were now standing directly beside him.
"I'm surprised you even know where the library is."
"Mooney," James whispered, placing his hand over his heart in mock outrage. "I'm offended; I'll have you know Lily has forced me here many times."
"My mistake," Remus responded, unable to hide his grin.
"Well now that we've established that we do in fact know where the library is-" Sirius said, pulling out the chair across from Remus and taking a seat.
"By all means take a seat," Remus said with a smirk indicating to the seats his two friends were already occupying.
James picked up the book Remus had been reading and flipped a few pages in it.
"It's ok, I wasn't reading that," Remus said exasperated.
"Then why on earth did you have it open," James responded, not noticing Remus's sarcasm.
"So why is it you two are here? Besides to prolong my studying." Remus asked.
"We're looking for Regulus," Sirius answered.
"Ahh, then you're better off sitting over there, Remus nodded towards the back of the library where Regulus sat, his head bent close to his parchment.
"Excellent," Sirius said, beginning to rise.
"Wait, shouldn't we plan this out, I mean what are we even going to say?" James said, putting his hand out to push Sirius back into his seat.
"We're not going to say anything, I'm going to talk to him, you're going to wait here," Sirius responded.
"Wait what?"
"You're here in case things get out of hand," Sirius shrugged.
"The fact that you think that's even a possibility shows that this is a bad idea," Remus cautioned.
"Nothing will happen, we'll both agree on this," Sirius said, rising from his chair, swatting James's arm away as he went.
"How do you know that?" James asked.
"Because we both care about Ginevra," Sirius answered obviously, as he made his way across the library to his brother.
