Chapter 2: The devil the hatred reignited
Twilight City, Southwest District, nighttime
Remember to look up a map of Lego City Undercover, that's what the city is based on.
Anjin was moving throughout his neighborhood helping anyone he could see from moving debri that was blocking people that from leaving their houses or helping pick people up who were too scared to get up to taking out some looters who were using the situation to rob stores and people. "Thank Kami that Pence is out of town so I don't need to check his house I can focus on the others and help out those I see."
He saw a a family trapped in their car and hope to get them out opening the passenger side so the wife could get out and the backseat so the kids could too. He went inside to try and help the father only to see that he was dead dying from the crash as he rest on the airbag lifeless. Although saddened he could at least move the body out of the car and give it back to the family. It pained him to see how distraught they were but he needed to continue on and help the next person he could find but not before hearing thank you from the people that he saved.
He soon came to a gas station that was currently on fire due to the gas leaks on the gas pumps and there were people who are in the store and couldn't get out because of the fire was in front of the store. Anjin quickly used a spell icy wave which summoned a wave of Ice water that douse the flames. And now the people trapped inside are able to leave and get the same thing.
He listened in on anyone else he could save and found that there were screams and cries for help all over. He knew he would have to make clones in order to help everyone but knew that his black suit was designed to be chakra resistant so he couldn't do high-level jutsus like the shadow clone Jutsu so he quickly took off the coat and did Shadow clone Jutsu before putting it back on he made sure no one was looking. He then heard sirens and someone talking on a megaphone saying that the police, the firefighters and paramedics and even damage control are on their way which was a breath of relief.
With Cherry Tree Hills now secure he can now go to the Auburn District up North. Once getting there he saw that things were much worse here which means that the earthquake must of struck this place first. Anjin was even more worried considering this is where Hayner and Kilt live. He searched around the area looking for survivors but all he found where collapsed buildings and a few dead corpses on the street the only survivors he could find were injured. "Help...me." A random injured pedestrian said.
"Help is on the way. Just hang on." Anjin told them think using what little knowledge of healing magic he knew to help them.
He soon left to go to his friends neighborhood to check on them going by Hayner's house first that glowed yellow but was still damaged. He went inside calling out if anyone was home only to hear nothing. He went into the kitchen and saw something he was hoping not to find which was the deceased body of Hayner's dad. Anjin looked up to see a hole in the roof leading to upstairs meaning the earthquake caused the floor upstairs to collapse and fall on top of them crushing him with debris. "I'm so sorry Hayner."
Then with his enhance hearing he heard a fading heartbeat coming from the father and quickly went over to try and help him. "Hang on I'm going to get you out of here and somewhere safe!"
"No.." The man said as pointed upstairs. "Save...her...please." After saying those last words his life truly faded as he died in his arms.
Anjin was silent not knowing what to say but he did know what he had to do go upstairs and Save who the father told him to save. Using the opening in the upstairs floor he investigated the upstairs and came across a girl's room where he saw a young blond hair girl of age 13 on the floor unconscious but still alive. This was no doubt Hayner's little sister. "Don't worry I'll get her out of here." Getting a blanket he put it over young girl so she wouldn't feel cold and then placed her on his back before heading outside.
After saving his friend's little sister Anjin made his way to Kilt's place. Where he saw the lights on. He knocked on the door and could hear someone coming to the door and could tell they were looking out through the peephole and not a second later the door open to reveal Olette. "Naruto! thank goodness your here. Kim called and told me you would be in the area." Olette said relieved and then she noticed the kid on Anjin's back. "Isn't that?"
"Olette, where's Kilt? I need to get you guys out of here." Anjin said coming in. There he saw Kilt on the couch with a bandaged head and bandages on his left leg unconscious. "What happened?"
"We were upstairs when the earthquake happened although the house didn't take any serious damage the massive quake caused Kilt to fall down the second floor and he hit the ground pretty hard. I managed to bandage him up but I don't think I can safely move him." Olette said with a sad expression and tearing up some.
"Where's Kilt's mom?" Anjin asked.
"She's probably still out there with the rest of the police force. I called her and told her what happened and she said she'll get here as soon as she can." Olette answered. "Naruto, what's going on? The ground started shaking out of nowhere?"
"I don't know, but I'm going to find out. But first we need to get Kilt to an ambulance." Anjin said handing the girl over to Olette before putting the unconscious Kilt on his back as they left the house. As they left the neighborhood they could feel another disturbance in the ground again scaring Olette fearing another earthquake. "It's the Aftershock we got to get moving! Now!" Anjin said as they ran.
After running at full speed they made it to the ambulances where they saw other survivors although very small as it was in the thirties indicating just how many casualties were in this area. After getting Kilt on one of the gurneys he try to look for Hayner in the crowd but couldn't meaning he was still missing. Naruto began to worry that he was one of the casualties until he remembered something.
He talked to hayner earlier and he said he was going to the dojo past Auburn Bridge leading to Fort Meadows and Bluebell National Park. "Kami please let him still be there." Anjin said as he left finding a motorcycle that still had its keys in the ignition it's owner probably abandoning it when the earthquake occurred. After driving and avoiding some debris he came across the bridge which had a small Gap most likely due to the earthquake after revving it up Anjin focused his Chi in the motorcycle and hit the ramp making it almost fly all the way pass the gap and towards the rest of the bridge where he landed successfully and was now heading to Fort Meadows.
Northwest District, Fort Meadows
As Anjin drove through for Meadows he got a call on his earpiece. "Yes."
"Naruto! It's Mash, where are you?!" Mash asked her voice filled with worry and panic.
"I'm in Fort Meadows and on my way to Blue Bell Park to go find Hayner. I've already helped out in Cherry Creek Hills and Auburn, but Auburn took it the worst." Anjin said. "What about you? How are you, Kairi, Kureha and everyone else in the mansion holding up?"
"We're fine but there's something I have to tell you. I've been trying to figure out how the earthquake happened and it looks like it happened due to a powerful energy Shockwave that appeared from underground. I did a seismic scan of the area and found some Underground disturbances that look to be tunnels from Fort Meadow to Auburn. And senpai the energy source was identified as...chakra." Mash said surprising her brother.
"An Earth style user? This was intentional!" Anjin piece together.
"Why would anyone want to do this?" Mash asked wondering why anyone would want to cause an earthquake leading to such destruction.
"I don't know, but I am going to find out. And when I do they'll be in a full body cast when I'm done questioning them! I'll let you know what I find."
"Okay just be careful out." Mash said before hanging up.
"I will." Anjin soon made it to Blue Bell National Park and rode all the way to Barry Smith's dojo which was a dojo owned by the Hayabusa Clan. He parked by the large staircase and could hear some commotion going on at the temple dojo and quickly ran up there. After making it to the courtyard she jumped up to enter the window of the second floor and there he saw 4 people all wearing red and black ambu gear wearing masks with a rock Insignia on it. "Rock Ninjas! They must have been the ones to cause the earthquake but why and where's Hayner?" He looked around from his perch above and found Hayner tied to one of the support beam and badly beaten which upset Anjin. "No time for subtlety I need to take those guys out and get Hayner out of here!"
Anjin jumped down and pounced on top of one of the rock ninjas and quickly drew them into the gong surprising the other three who quickly turned around only for one of them to get Shield bashed by Anjin who imbued it with Chi making the attack much stronger and as The Rock Ninja start up he was hit on top of the head with the bow staff causing a concussion. "Two down, two to go." Anjin said before jumping out of the way to avoid The Barrage of traditions that were being thrown at him by the last two. He took out a kunai wrapped with explosive paper and with excellent timing and throwing speed threw it and hit one of the Ninja who quickly did some hand signs before it exploded. This distracted the last one long enough for Anjin to deliver a jump kick pushing him back into a pillar. "That take care of them." Anjin said about to go rescue his captive friend until he heard someone get up and turned around to see the guy he Shield bashed get up and to his surprise through his exposed forearms he could see his skin turn gray and went to attack him.
Anjin's instincts told him to dodge and so he did and The Rock ninjas attack collided with the ground leading his fist embedded in the ground before he pulled it out effortlessly. Soon the other two he took out earlier got up as well their skin turning gray as well. One went to attack Anjin who struck at him with his bow staff only for it to be ineffective as The Rock ninja grabbed him and threw him across the room making him hit the wall hard. Although he recovered quickly he definitely felt a bit sore.
"The Earth hardening Jutsu! It makes their skin harder than Stone making him stronger and durable. I'll have to hit them twice as hard if I want to take them out." Anjin said putting away his bo staff and began focusing is chi in his hands and feet and even focused it through his black coat and now began to fight the three ninjas in hand-to-hand combat. Their hard as rock skin made it hard to put them down and stagger them but he saw an opening and wind up his best to deliver a full-on Haymaker straight to one of the rock ninjas stomach launching him backwards until he hit the wall. He then went for the second one and did a full on knee kick in the back of his opponents knee bringing him to the ground and deliver a full-on uppercut with his left hand launching him towards the ceiling. He then put his arms up in order to block the punches from the third one and held him off long enough for the guy he launched up on the ceiling to fall and land on the third guy which gave him an opportunity to try something he's been working on.
He focused his Chi into his right hand until it began to form a ball similar to the Rasengan and then launched himself at them. "Take this! Chi Rasengan!" Once it collided it sent them both flying backwards and into the wall where they were knocked out and back to normal. Now having a real moment to catch his breath Anjin got on his left knee while rubbing his right hand. Chi and Ki is definitely stronger than chakra about the downside is that it uses up a lot of stamina leaving a person winded or exhausted also literally punching people whose skin are as hard as rock I would definitely hurt your hand and wrist a bit. Now he could finally go over and unchain Hayner.
Once unchaining him he tried to wake him up only to hear him groaning. "Well at least he's safe. Once I leave I'll have to call the professor to see if she can get someone from the Hayabusa Village to come and get these guys-... Oh come on!"
Anjin turned around to see the first guy he took down and threw into the dong with now up with his mask broken looking angry is he took out a pill and swallowed it. After looking like he was in complete agony his skin finally combust and began to turn into a human shaped lava man. "Oh man that doesn't look good. Kurama if you're awake I could use some advice here!"
"Lucky for you Kit I woke up not too long ago and I can see you've already gotten yourself into something dangerous." Kurama said telepathically. "I can feel a portion of my brother Son Goku's power from within that rock Ninja although it's unstable his power has significantly increased making him a pseudo jinchuriki. Obviously you can't attack him physically anymore due to the lava so your best bet is using your water attacks to cool him down and once the Flames go down then take him out."
Taking his advice Anjin switch from Ki to Mana and started using icy water on the lava Ninja but it wasn't enough and he quickly had to dodge because the lava Ninja try to tackle him. He then put his hands on the ground and lava started to engulf the floor around him increasing the heat of the room. He wasn't done yet as he began blasting what appear to be lava rocks at Anjin.
Anjin did his best to dodge but his left shoulder was grazed and began to catch fire forcing him to rip off the sleeve. He began to feel the intense heat affect him and look back at his friend Hayner who is clearly being affected if the sweat wasn't a dead giveaway. "Icy Wave!" Anjin said using a stronger version of icy water and Unleashed a small tidal wave of cold water and that push the lava ninja back some but it was still ignite. "Oh you have got to be kidding me? No choice then. Ice storm it is then!"
Naruto took off his black coat and put it on Hayner and switch back to Ki and began to focus. The lava Ninja regain its footing and was preparing to charge at Naruto not paying attention to the light blue circle around him. "Ninpo: Art of Ice storm!" Naruto said as a powerful veil of icy wind erupted from him encasing to get tired temple with ice.
After the attack subsided Naruto who is at the epicenter of the black was on his knees panting hard and shivering as the side effects of this particular ninpo was a drop in body heat as well as exhaustion. "Been a while since I had to use that." Naruto said trying to get up but finding it very difficult. He then looked where his opponent was to see that his lava armor was gone but to his surprise was getting back up meaning although he was injured he still had strength to move and began to limp towards him. "You Rock ninjas are very stubborn you know?"
"I could say the same thing about you. You definitely live up to your reputation devil of the Hidden leaf but it looks like I win." The Rock ninja said standing in front of Naruto as he pointed his sword at him. "Now. Tell me, is this the temple where the dark dragon blade resides?"
"Never heard of it even if I did I doubt it'd be here this is just a martial arts dojo." Naruto said buying time. "Is that why you people cause that earthquake? Was it just a distraction so you could look for that blade here?"
"Why answer someone who's about to die? Say goodnight!" The Rock Ninja said lifting his sword up preparing to strike Naruto down who didn't look the least bit scared because in that moment the rock Ninja was punched in the face back into the gong with a Ki enhance fist courtesy of Hayner who was wearing Naruto's black coat that protected him from the ice storm but did take damage.
"Goodnight." Naruto said before looking up at his friend. "Thanks for the last-minute save there Hayner."
"Right back at ya Naruto." Hayner said helping Naruto by placing him on his shoulder and walking out the temple.
"Kit! Behind you!" Kurama said making Naruto and Hayner look behind them
The Rock ninja got back up despite the pain he felt from that last attack and took out tree of the food pallets that made him into a lava man. "For the sake of Iwagakure and the Earth Kingdom! I will not like you two leave this Temple alive!" He then golf down the food palette and his body instantly reacted to the change and turn it into a lava man while flames around him went wild and he looked like he was in extreme pain almost as if he was about to.
"Oh Crap! We gotta get out of here now!" Naruto said as he tried to move on his own but his body wasn't healing fast enough. Hayner then looked at him and gave him a big smile confusing Naruto until he was suddenly thrown out of the temple with great force. "Hayner wait! Noooo!"
And with that the temple exploded with the force of the blast pushing Naruto out of the courtyard and at the edge where the stairs leading down. He laid there injured and unable to move but honestly the reason he was unable to move with the cuz he was extremely distraught tears leak from his eyes over the Lost of one of his best friends as he fell into unconsciousness could see someone standing over him in what appears to be a leaf anbu Black Ops gear as unconsciousness finally took him. The mysterious anbu look down at him before picking him up placing him on their shoulder taking him away from the burning building.
Over 200 people died that night with the survivors either injured or traumatized with the Auburn District completely being destroyed and Cherry Tree Hill just as damaged. When Marie and her mother returned they wasted no time in getting to work in helping the city however they can until then all of the residents that have lost their homes would have to stay in the other districts of Twilight City.
Animas City also suffered an attack but only around the forest area as it was being attacked by earth Golems. No one in the city was hurt aside from small villages that were outside the city so there were still casualties just above 100.
Later it was discovered that the Hayabusa Village in Mount Fuji of Japan was attacked with nearly all of it residents destroyed except for a handful of civilians who were evacuated into the underground shelters. Considering the attack on Animas City and the Hayabusa Village the Hayabusa Clan ninjas were literally cut in half trying to resolve it.
What all three of these places had in common was that in had a connection to the Hayabusa Clan and that the prisoner is that they managed to capture claim they were searching for something called the dark dragon blade. A demonic blade made from the Fang of an evil dragon that was part Oni and whoever wielded this demonic weapon would become the devil incarnate.
People responsible for this attack was the alliance of the Vigoor Empire and the ninjas of Iwagakure. According to the Intel given to them by the shadow Ninjas Vigoor was a midsize country in the Southwest part of the land of Earth called the land of fang that was known for its oppressive military might and few social relationship with other countries besides the land of Earth. In fact one of the only way to get into the country without the traversing through the Earth kingdom is through airship.
One week later, Animaspear mansion.
Naruto was sitting at a desk looking himself in the mirror with a black briefcase on his bad. Since the house took some damage him his mother and Kim were now staying at the mansion.
Just then he heard the door open but then look to see who it is because he could already tell it was Myucel. "Master?" The half elf maid said holding a large scroll. "I brought you the scroll that you wanted should I leave it on the bed?"
"Yes, thank you Myucel." Naruto replied. "Any word from Ryu?"
"He's ready too and so Tsuru. He says they'll meet you at the Airship that lady Samiramis sent over. She and Koinzell sent you their regards and said if you need anything else just let them know." Myucel said walking over to him.
"Giving us an airship in order to reach the land of fang to get to Vigoor is more than enough." Naruto said getting up only to be hugged from the back by Myucel. "It's okay Myucel. I'm alright. I'm more than prepared for this."
"I know, I just want to do this before you left." Myucel said shedding a few tears. "Master? If I could make one request can you promise me that... That you'll come back to met the same person you've always been?"
Naruto's response was turning around to kiss Myucel on the lips. This lasted for a good few minutes before they separated where Naruto gave her a kind smile. "I promise. You just stay back here with Marie and everybody and help them with the city, while me, Ryu and the others get that cursed blade back and make the people that did this pay. So no worrying too much, Master's orders."
Although Myucel was still worried she appreciated the reassurance that Naruto was giving her. "Yes Master."
After Myucel left Naruto took his suitcase and the large scroll and was preparing to leave but not before going to see his mother. He went to her room but could tell from outside the door that she was asleep so he went inside. Medea was sound asleep with a cover over her butt there was a noticeable round shape sticking out under the cover where her stomach is which Naruto took a second to look at after that he went over to kiss Madea on the forehead. "I'll see you when I get back mom." He then looked at the round shape again. "Please be a girl." And with that Naruto left.
A few hours later, Airship, over the land of Earth, nighttime
Naruto, Ryu, and Tsuru where in a cabin discussing their plan of action. Ryu what's now wearing a black slim Ninja gi with kunai hoisters on the way and on his back the Dragon sword. Tsuru has gotten taller but her hair was the same still tide in a long ponytail and bangs on the side of her face she also wore a slim tight suit but kept her signature yellow jacket over it. Naruto was wearing a similar black suit with his forearm covered but with a hood on it as well and a lower mouth mask and on his back was a holster for his escrima sticks.
They were all on their knees on the floor looking over a map of the land of Earth and also of the land of Fang. "We're just about halfway to the border line of the land of Earth and the land of fang. After that we should reach the capital city of Tairon, it's where the Vigoor Emperor lives as well as where their Maine Military is, they also act as the police force so they will be scattered about around the city." Ryu explained.
"What do we do once we pass the borderline?" Naruto asked.
"Also is is there any chance that will come across any Rock ninjas in the city?" Tsuru asked.
"We'll most likely have to dock the airship close to the Mountain area near the city and then infiltrated from the ground. We may be cloaked but that doesn't mean we're completely undetectable." Ryu answered Naruto's question first. "As for the rock ninjas, It's most likely some will be there. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't expecting some kind of counter-attack from us despite how well they think they covered their tracks."
Ryu was thinking back to the attack on the main Hayabusa Village as well as the two other attack. Despite his anger he had to admit it was a very good plan. At the main conspirators of Vigoor would send in their strongest Warrior a greater theme named Doku and his army of dark Mages and Samurai to destroy Hayabusa Village and everyone in it and get the dark dragon blade himself included if it wasn't for his Guardian spirit Falco saving him. He was extremely I'm relieved that his best friend and lover Kureha was in Twilight City with Kairi, but that still doesn't change the fact that so many of his fellow ninjas died along with a few civilians who weren't able to hide.
Then there was the attack in the land of Eddie. A report say that a mysterious mage created Golems that started rampaging the land along with a few soldiers most likely the Vigoor military. It was most likely they were sent there to cause a distraction that would keep the Hayabusa Village of that area busy leaving to no reinforcement to the main village or worse they were actually looking for the dark dragon blade there.
And lastly the attack on Twilight City which was caused by an earthquake by Rock ninjas. Information from Naruto confirm that they were also looking for the dark dragon blade and that the earthquake was meant to be a distraction so they could search the temple dojo. Given how the last guy that Naruto defeated made himself explode shows how serious they were of wanting to remove all evidence that they were there. A three simultaneous surprise attack that would spread their forces fin and that weekend and shorten their options of repelling their attack. Cruel but effective.
Ryu looked at his two apprentices and could see that despite their composure they too were angry and distraught and who can blame them. Tsuru has lived in the land of Eddie her entire life not to mention one of those Villages that got destroyed was where she was born in. And then there was Naruto who not only saw his neighborhood get destroyed but one of his closest friends killed. This will be a test for both of them to see if they can put aside their hatred to focus on the mission.
"Ok we still have about four more hours until we reach our destination so we might as well use this time to rest and mentally prepare. This Mission will test everything you two have learned since I took you both on as my apprentices. What is our mission?"
"To find and secure the Dark Dragon Blade and defeat the Fiends!" Both Naruto and Tsuru said.
"Good. I'll be counting on you two."
The scene changed to a blimp even higher than the one they are on one that seems more high-tech. Inside there were scientists preparing a overly large cyborg man whose right hand was a large Cannon.
As they were doing this a guy wearing a green trench coat and fedora walked over. "So? Is the general ready?"
"Almost. It takes a good while to charge the electrical energy for the general to fight at his fullest and we also have to take into account if the safety measures to keep him from overloading. Also our scans have picked up the enemy Airship despite its cloaking Tech and we're ready to send a team down there to attack and secure the ship." The scientist said.
"Good!" The Fedora man said before walking away before smiling sinisterly. "I'm the general and these soldiers will make an excellent warm up for Ryu and his apprentices. Now best to leave before things get messy!"

I'll say this now that it really hurt me to write in Hayner's death but I really wanted to do a death in the family thing and for that I needed someone to die. But is this the last we've seen of Hayner? Only time will tell.
As for the next chapter expect things to start heating up as Naruto, his mentor / brother and sibling Apprentice fight their way to Vigoor. So stay tuned and please leave reviews!
