Still open for suggestions, and while I'll keep looking, if anybody wants to see something added on here, please include a character and their abilities that you think would match the Naruto characters. Right now I'm trying to see how I can mix fighting styles with the ones they learn at the academy to become ninja, while also making sure nobody is super powerful right away, just slow and steady to where they can defend themselves against the villagers and council members with a grudge, and their children, then work through the ninja ranks.
It has been six months since the return of the Sannin and a few big changes have happened, one being that Naruto has moved into the Senju Compound, under the guardianship of his godparents. This sent an outrage amongst the populous and the civilian council because the boy was now under the protection of two Sannin that would be more then glad to protect the boy from any kind of harm, yet also giving him the sort of family that they have been trying to deny him for so long. And there was nothing they can do about it unless they want to anger a woman who can make the most powerful men soil themselves with just one look and a man who can survive a beating from said woman and other angry women with barely a scratch, especially since he tends to be the cause for some of their fury.
Anyway the reunion between students and sensei could have gone a little better, but it could have been a whole lot worse to where both men could have walked away missing a key body part.
Flashback
After getting Tsunade to calm down, thanks to the help of her assistant/conscience, Shizune, and having Tenzo, one of the ANBU replace the doors that were destroyed, everybody was able to have a seat in order to have a conversation like adults. Hiruzen decided to start things off, "Well Tsunade, it's nice to have you back in Konoha."
"Yeah, sensei, it's nice to be back." Tsunade said, then gave a look that pretty much said no more monkey business, although in Hiruzen's case, Enma would rather kiss Gamabunta in the mouth then face one of Tsunade's fists, "Anyway, where is my godson?" She asked in a sickly-sweet tone, one that promised pain if she didn't get her answer or the way she wants it.
"He's at the academy and will be finished sometime this afternoon." Hiruzen answered, "If you would like, you can be the one who greets him once it's done for the day. You just need to explain it to Shibi Aburame or a member of his clan that will be there to pick him up."
When he noticed his teammate raising an eyebrow at their sensei, "You might want to catch her up to speed old man." Jiraiya said.
Hiruzen nodded his head at this and told her, and Jiraiya, everything that has been happening to Naruto since he was born and what has been happening to Konoha while they were gone. From Naruto being ridiculed for something beyond his control to finding hope in a manga to gaining support from all the ninja clans in the village, along with the civilian council and villagers trying their hardest to keep Naruto from becoming any stronger than them, along with the main council trying to regain some control over him so that they can make Naruto into the perfect weapon.
There were moments when the people would laugh, cry and in some cases, want to start cracking some skulls and ask questions later. Tsunade gave Jiraiya a harsh glare, "Why didn't you stick around to look after him you pervert?" She asked, wanting a reason to punch him.
"I was out keeping tabs on my spy network so that way not only would the village be safe, but also so that Minato's enemies won't try to do anything with Naruto when he is still vulnerable." Jiraiya countered, trying to defend his actions.
"Then what stopped you from checking up on him when you returned to Konoha?" Tsunade said, getting ready to blow, "You didn't by any chance find your 'research' more important than making sure your late student's only son was doing well?" Her hands flew up to her mouth, because she knew how much Jiraiya viewed Minato as family considering that he never had any growing up.
"At least I came back," Jiraiya said, pain evident in his voice, while avoiding to bring up the time he did 'checkup' on Naruto, which was what led to the pounding he received a couple of years ago, "What about you? Why didn't you return earlier when sensei tried to contact you?"
Raising his hand up to make sure his students don't damage each other more to go beyond regret, "Before you both continue on with this finger pointing, you both need to remember that the fault lies in both of you, not just one." Hiruzen said, getting their attention, "You both let down Minato and Kushina by not being here after they gave their lives to protect the village in order to make sure Naruto is properly taken care of."
Both Sannin felt guilty because they knew that the Sandaime was right, they did fail in their duties as godparents because they mainly thought more about themselves than the rest of the world. Tsunade was too busy running from her past due to the death of her loved ones, using booze and gambling as her escape. Jiraiya, while still loyal to a degree with his spy network, was more focused on booze and babes, along with being a perverted author who focus more on his books then his student's legacy.
Seeing that his students were feeling bad, he decided to get back to the subject at hand, "So Tsunade, I take it you would like to be the one to raise Naruto?" Hiruzen asked.
Nodding her head, "Yes sensei, I would like to adopt Naruto and raise him like Minato and Kushina would have wanted." Tsunade said, "And I'm pretty sure Shizune would have something similar to a little brother to grow up with."
"And I'm guessing that you are willing to take over operations at the hospital as well as teach the medic class at the academy?" Hiruzen asked. Tsunade nodded her head, "Will, the last two, I can grant you, but adopting Naruto, I can't do."
While Tsunade looked like she wanted to punch him, Jiraiya had a good idea on the reason, "Let me guess, the civilians?" He asked, although it wasn't really a question.
Hiruzen nodded his head, "And Danzo and my advisors." He said, "The civilian council would deny anybody who would want to adopt Naruto, while also destroying said person as much as possible, and the main council wants to turn Naruto into a weapon."
"Sensei, how can you let things get so out of hand?" Tsunade asked.
Hiruzen rubbed his hands on his temple, "It was out of hand when I returned to office." He grabbed his piped when he leaned back into his chair, "Between Minato's death and my return, the civilian and main councils didn't waste any time to regain some of the power Minato took away from them, as well as helping themselves to power reserved mainly for the ninja, among them being the academy." He gave a small sigh, "It was also through them that they told the villagers a half-truth just so they can have the village try to destroy the boy while at the same time trying to gain even more power than the hokage."
"And to think, Minato was going to fire Danzo and the advisors and get a pair of new ones." Jiraiya said, while shaking his head, "It wasn't hard to see that all the years in power has made them think that they are unstoppable, even from the law, so he was going to make a law that said that when a Hokage leaves office, mainly from death of any kind or resignation, that the advisors have to leave office to make place with a new set of advisors picked by the new kage."
Hiruzen's eyes went wide at this, "I haven't heard of this before." He said.
Jiraiya gave a loud snort at this, "Not surprising since they probably destroyed any evidence of it before you came back." He said, "Those vultures are so stuck in the past, yet they aren't afraid to find a way to use things to their advantage."
Hiruzen nodded his head at this, although at times he feels like he is one of those vultures considering all of the hard choices he had to make to defend his village, especially with all of the wars he had to lead the village, considering how many lives were affected despite the outcome. This is why Minato was chosen to be the Fourth Hokage, he was to be a new face to help bring in peace to an old world "I'll look into making that law a possibility." He said, before turning towards his favorite student, in ways of 'fine' reading, "Are you going to teach Naruto fuinjutsu, Jiraiya?"
Giving his sensei a small smile, "Yeah, I'll make the brat like an apprentice of mine since you said he was the only one learning about seals, and there are a few things I would like to teach him." Jiraiya said, then the smile drops, "Although it wouldn't surprise me any if he were to pick up playing Minato and Kushina's favorite game."
This caused everybody to chuckle at this, "Oh you mean the game of 'expose the pervert' that they started playing the moment you took a peek at Kushina?" Tsunade said, remembering the stories they told her on how easy the sage makes it to just sneak up on him and get his not-so-sorry ass pounded by a group of femme fatale. One of her favorites was a Mother's Day special where they not only caught him peeping at the hot springs when they were having their event, they tied him up like some kind of piƱata and hung him over the women's side, with Kushina handing out bats, poles and other wooden objects, and they gladly started using them on him, the biggest prize being when some of them struck Jiraiya's price jewels between his legs.
Deciding to make two godparents happy, "Anyway, how about we begin the process of you becoming a family with Naruto." Hiruzen said, before calling his secretary and telling her to bring him the necessary paperwork that he'll be needing.
"I thought you said that can't be adopted?" Tsunade asked, just as the secretary came in with said papers and a foul look on her face.
"Why would anybody want to adopt that thing?" She asked, only to fly out of the door via slap to the face by one ticked off Tsunade.
Jiraiya was just as angry as Tsunade, but he would never strike a woman, unless she was an enemy wanting to kill him, mainly because it would his 'reputation' as a self-proclaimed ladies-man. "I take it she was just fired?" He said.
Hiruzen shook his head, before giving a hand gesture towards one of the ANBU hidden in the walls, "Yes, as well as a trip to Ibiki." He said, before answering the interrupted question, "And while adoption is out of the question since the councils refuse to budge when it comes to Naruto, yet legal guardianship is another issue." When he watched as the trio went wide eye, especially the piglet in Shizune's arms, he couldn't help but give a little smirk, one that gave his students shiver when they came out of the academy because it usually involved Enma in staff form and the training that starts off as a whooping, "It is one of the few loopholes that the clans and I have found in the laws that helped us make sure that Naruto at least gets something close to family as possible."
Flashback ends
While the catching up between everybody was done, the hardest part was explaining to a boy that has been alone most of his life, even with the family he built up from the ninja clans and his friends' families, that he had people to take care of him, but they were never around when he needed the love of his own family. No matter how it would be explained, it would always sound bad in some way:
Flashback #2
Naruto is leaving the academy with his friends, learning new things from the teachers who have moved on from the past. The exception being a new teacher named Mizuki who seemed to be trying his hardest to sabotage Naruto somehow. Like today when he tried to make Naruto seem like a bad guy when during a mock taijutsu tournament he defeated a councilman's son without breaking a sweat. Even tried to give the kid a free shot at Naruto, only to be overridden by Iruka because he, along with most of the staff at the academy, knew that if children related to those on the main and civilian council can't take a hit gracefully, they don't deserve to be ninja.
Right now the parents of most of his friends, including Hizashi, were at the academy entrance, talking to the Hokage, a blonde woman and a familiar old man. The only other person that doesn't have parents is Lee because they abandoned him for not meeting their expectations, meaning that they wanted a famous ninja in the family.
When Naruto reached the trio, they turned just as Hiruzen greeted the boy, "Hello Naruto," he said," let me introduce you to your new guardians."
This brought things to a screeching halt, especially with the villagers because they knew what that meant: the demon is finally going to have a family and considering that the guardians are legendary ninja, one with an even more legendary temper, they would have to be extremely suicidal to not only attack the boy, but also try to punish them in anyway. Plus with the backing of the ninja clans, even the civilian and main council can't risk choosing what laws that can be ignored or exploited.
While the kids were a mixture of shock and pleased for their friend, and a little bit of disappointment since most of them are used to having Naruto stay over at their clan's compound, Naruto was doing a good impression of a statue, with his jaw in the ground. After recovering, he looked at his soon to be family only to recognize one of them. "Hey, you're that guy that fell in the hot springs a couple of years ago." Naruto said, "What were you doing? Watching me?"
*THUD!* Jiraiya face faulted, with his left leg twitching before recovering, "No, you were on the girls side of the hot springs, so I was checking out the girls, I didn't even know you were there." He said, not realizing the excruciating pain that was heading his way, mainly from the mothers and older girls. Plus, he was getting an evil look from the fathers, while even though some of them are on the subscription list, even they would never want their little girls to become a part of his research.
"So you were checking out my friends?" Naruto asked, having a bad feeling in his stomach.
"No, their mothers, they're real babes." Jiraiya said without thinking, "The youngest girls I do research on are fresh genin or at least the same age as one." That was when it all clicked in what he has been saying and where he was saying it. While he made sure not to sound like a pedo, something that he promised himself not to become, he openly revealed on how much of a 'super pervert' he really is. Unfortunately for him, seeing as how Hiruzen, Shizune, Naruto and everybody male or child were starting to step away, just in time for the beating he usually gets.
After five minutes of ticked off mama birds, and teammate, pounding the living daylights out of him, they all parted to reveal what used to be a human being. Naruto walked up and asked "Is he going to be all right?"
"Oh yes, he'll be just fine in a few minutes." Hiruzen said, "This is almost like a daily thing for him."
"So if I were to say that he better hurry before the mother/daughter special at the hot springs end?" Naruto asked.
"You mean that's today?" Jiraiya jumped up yelling, completely unharmed and no sign of pain.
This scared the kids, and those who are seeing it for the first time. "How do you do that?" Sasuke asked.
"Is that some kind of bloodline or something?" Naruto asked.
Hiruzen shook his head, "We have no idea," he said, "Somehow, except for that one time, he takes a beating and can walk away from it like it was nothing." Tsunade had a guilty look on her face when her sensei brought up the time she almost killed him for taking a peak her.
While there are villagers that are smart enough to keep their mouth shut, especially those on the council who oppose Naruto and anybody that supports him, but will raise a big stink in the next council meeting, there are still those who tend to jump the gun without a thought, "Lord Hokage, why would you let . . ." One mother came out, trying to convince the three why it's a bad idea to let the so-called 'demon' be raised by anybody.
"Unless you want your children to see who you really are, you will stop right there." Hiruzen said, while giving her a look that told her what options she has. Taking a look around and seeing how she has the hokage, two Sannin and several clan heads looking at her like she was an enemy, she just gave a big huff and walked away, with her nose in the air.
Hiruzen and the others shook their heads, "Is it just me or are the villagers getting too full of themselves?" Jiraiya asked.
"That would be because of the other councils." Fugaku said, "They have been giving the villagers too much leeway mainly because they want them to either kill Naruto, despite the risks, or make him crack so that Danzo can get his hands on him."
"While also trying to get back at us because we not only protect the boy, but also Lord Hokage has ordered ANBU protection for the parents of Naruto's friends." Hiashi said, "And even though Konoha is supposed to be a Shinobi village, the civilian council thinks that we should bow to them because they hold power, even though it should be on the same level as us."
Noticing how most of the kids have already left with their parents, and Naruto and his friends are just chatting away without a care in the world, even though Hiruzen couldn't help but smile while thinking that this is the one thing no child should be denied, he knew that they had to get back down to business, "Well, enough of the depressing matters, we have a young man that needs to get acquainted with his new family."
Knowing that he was right, "Lady Tsunade, before I forget, hopefully we can rebuild the alliance between Senju and Uchiha into something better." Fugaku said.
Seeing how close Naruto was with the clan heirs, especially Sasuke, and thinking how much of a bumpy start the two founding clans had since her grandfather was chosen to be the Shodaime, "Only time will tell." Tsunade said. Fugaku gave a small nod, knowing that would have to be the best answer for now.
After parting ways, the four were able to grab Naruto's things from the Hyuga compound and moved into the Senju Compound, which was right next door to said compound, with the Uchiha on the other side. The first thing they did was drop Naruto's stuff at his new bedroom, gave him the grand tour, and did one of the hardest things they would have to do, tell him who they really were, while leaving certain information out, mainly who his parents are and him holding the kyubi. After about an hour of telling him everything they felt he needed to know, from them being his godparents, the reasons why they were away for so long and also why they never bother returning to check up on him, while also explaining how Hiruzen was busy trying to get them to return so that they can finally act like godparents.
When they finished, they got a good look at the blonde only to flinch at what he was wearing on his face, one no child should ever have to wear. Hurt, betrayal, abandonment, loneliness, painful anger, emotions that only a very, very small few has ever seen, Hiruzen being one of the few to lend a shoulder whenever Naruto needed to release some emotions. Something that has stopped somewhat thanks to the women in the other clans, as well as those who know how to tell the difference between a young child and a 100ft fox.
After going through the longest ten minutes of silence in their lives, the teen and three adults could see that not only was he absorbing everything he has learned, but also thinking about something. Looking at the person he was the closest with, what came out of Naruto's mouth would be the ultimate game changer for the rest of their lives, "My father is Minato Namikaze, isn't he?" He asked, causing the adults to go wide eye to where they just might shoot out of the sockets, "And please don't lie to me anymore because the only other blondes in the villages are Ino and her family and the only way that somebody could get strong ninjas like them to be my godparents is if they were really close to my parents."
While he was glad to have some weight off of his shoulders, Hiruzen shook his head, wishing that there was an easier way of getting rid of it, although from Naruto's reaction about his parents, he knew that no such thing existed, especially with what Naruto had to grow up with, despite the care and protection of the clans. "Yes, your father was Minato Namikaze and your mother was Kushina Uzumaki." Hiruzen answered, "I gave you the name of your mother's clan in order to protect you from your father's enemies."
"There's an Uzumaki clan?" Naruto asked, "How come we don't learn about them at the academy?"
Hiruzen sighed at this, "Because the civilian council don't want you to know anything about it or anything that would take you out of their hold and the main council don't want it known that we pretty much let our allies get wiped out because they found their 'usefulness' no longer needed." He said, while shaking his head, "That is one of the prices of having such power for so long, you tend to think that you are kami on earth."
While he can see how big of a battle that his surrogate grandfather has to go through on a daily basis with people who want things done their way and there are limitations to a Hokage's power, especially thanks to said people. But there was something not sitting right with him, "Gramps, you have spies in other villages right?" He asked, getting a nod from him, "And do you think they have spies in our village?"
"Yes, it wouldn't be too surprising." Hiruzen said, "It just how things work in the ninja world. Why do you ask?"
"Well I'm just wondering what they would see me more as, the Kyubi-brat, although I'm not sure why, or as the son of the Yellow Flash?"
Flashback end
This served as the wakeup call for the adults because unlike the villagers who lost loved ones to a demon fox and needed a scapegoat for their grief, the only thing that the spy would have is wanting to help get revenge for a loved one lost at war and would be able to put two and two together to tell the difference. Plus, if Minato has enemies within the village, especially so high up in the food chain, then said people might just be using the Kyubi as a way to get some kind of revenge through his son.
While the foundation between Naruto and Hiruzen are a bit on the wobbly side, especially after learning the other half of the truth which involved the Kyubi, and while Naruto's relationship with the Sannin is still at a slow and steady growth to where he can accept the fact that they are now a family, bad habits and all, the trust and love is still a little shaky at best considering after finding out that they pretty much broken a promise to his parents and that is something that the young blonde would inherit from them, the value of one's word. Shizune he was willing to accept as his older sister because she is an innocent in all this and she would prove a big factor for him when it comes to understanding girls considering the alternative. Plus Shizune started to pick up some of his pranking habits, while being a victim to some of them, which she used against Tsunade whenever she brings up something embarrassing like her developing feelings towards Itachi Uchiha(I know that there is an age gap between them, making them about 13 at this point, so I'm going to make her around the same age as Itachi to help make it work).
Since then, while Jiraiya is trying to balance out his duties towards his spy network, being a ninja, learning how to be a decent enough role model towards Naruto, while also taking him under his wing on things like fuinjutsu and trying to squeeze in some research without getting pounded or busted or both depending on wither Naruto or Tsunade are in the area.
Tsunade had a little bit more on her hands. While running the hospital and teaching at the academy has her working more then she has ever had before, like Jiraiya she was also trying to be among the constant good things in Naruto's life. One thing that has to change is how much she gets to do her favorite pastimes which are getting drunk on sake and going broke at the casinos, which went from just about 24/7 to only once in a while so that way she don't put Naruto through what she felt she put Shizune through, which is why she asked said girl to make sure that the Uzumaki funds are kept out of her reach so that way she won't ruin Naruto's chances at a decent life in the future before it could start.
Plus to add more headaches, she was made the Senju clan head, despite the fact that she was the only living Senju left and Naruto was part Senju by blood. Although this headache came with some joy because she had enough power to protect Naruto from the civilians and the advisors because he was now considered her ward and with the help of the other clans, Naruto would be allowed to live a happy life. Plus it would be seriously bad if anybody, council or villager, rich or poor, to where their lives would be pretty much over with if they were to go against somebody who is a Sannin, the Senju Princess and somebody who's fist is more lethal than her tongue.
Like all first times, her first council meeting was more unbearable then it was pleasant, considering which sides were providing which feeling.
Flashback #3
The day after Naruto was placed under the care of the Sannin, after dropping Naruto off at the academy along with Shizune, who needed to get a couple of years at the academy in so that way she can become genin, despite some of the training that Tsunade has given her. Plus Shizune didn't want to feel like a burden to Itachi who has already started his career off as an ANBU. (Did I get that part right? The age when Itachi became part of ANBU?) Both Jiraiya and Tsunade were called to appear at a council meeting, one that was called by the usual suspects.
When they arrived, it sounded like a precursor to a bloodbath, with the civilian council and the advisors trying to argue with the clan heads about their blatant protect of Naruto and some of his friends, as well as the boy's happiness all together. The clan heads were pretty much telling them to go to hell and they aren't going to stop just to please those who can never be pleased.
This went on for about a couple of minutes when one of the civilians yelled out "We need to have that boy executed for killing the Fourth Hokage."
This caused Jiraiya to burst out laughing, getting the entire room's attention, "The brat was right, that probably would a hit over in Iwa and Kumo." He said, "Minato Namikaze, Konoha's Yellow Flash, Fourth Hokage, destroyer of armies, the one who defeated a demon only to get taken out by a newborn baby only a few minutes old."
This caused Tsunade, Hiruzen and the clan heads, after thinking it over, to breakout laughing not just at the joke, but also how Kushina would never let it down if she heard that joke. While she and Minato were extremely loyal to each other, both just can't resist making a crack at the other's expense, although Minato had to be cautious whenever Kushina was in one of her moods, which usually ended in property damage and a sound whooping that would come second to all of the ones that Jiraiya keeps getting himself into. Danzo and the advisors kept a straight face, but on the inside, they would be laughing on the ground because that joke really would be a hoot.
One of the civilians that were delusional ass-kissers yelled out "How dare you make jokes about our beloved Lord Minato." A councilman yelled out, "You should be showing him more respect."
This got everybody attention, especially those who can't believe that somebody had the gall to say they have to show respect to their friend. "Oh you mean the respect involving his final wish that states that the wants Naruto to be seen as a hero?" Fugaku asked.
"That boy isn't a hero! He is a demon in disguise." A councilwoman yelled out.
"Now who needs to show respect for Minato?" Hiashi asked, getting glares from them, "You say you respect him yet you know nothing about the meaning of the word."
"While you might 'respect' Minato, you certainly don't honor him considering how you treat Naruto like something he isn't" Shikaku said, "And before you start saying something along the lines of him being the Kyubi, remember that if he was who you claimed him to be, would Kyubi allow anybody to get away with attacking it in the first place? Wouldn't there have been more chances of corpses littering the village due to the fact that there are people willing to provoke a beast that couldn't be defeated by regular means?"
"Chances are, they don't care about the truth or the villagers." Inochi said, causing them to glare more, as if somebody was just calling them out, "Admitting that Naruto is just a container would be like admitting that they were wrong and in their minds, the council is never wrong, at least on their side, plus if the villagers were to release the kyubi, then not only would it be Naruto's fault somehow instead of those who would be the cause of its release."
"Get used to it Inochi, the political game has been around way before the first village." Jiraiya said, reminding everybody that one of his titles is the Toad Sage, making him a wise old pervert, "Just like there are people who use their power wisely, there will always be those who abuse it." He then turned to face the advisors, giving them the evil eye, "And just before we entered, I can't help but to hear somebody yelled out about turning Naruto into a weapon."
Homura was the first to speak, "The container needs to be handed over to Danzo so he can be trained as a weapon." Getting glares from Hiruzen and the ninjas, "By placing the boy under Danzo's tutelage, he would be able to put the kyubi's power to better use."
Tsunade was now resisting the urge to start cracking some skulls, "And once trained, just under whose command will he be under, the Hokage's or Danzo's?" She asked, "And if by some chance you say Danzo, then you're crazier than Kushina when she goes through PMS."
While most people shivered at the memory of Kushina going on a rampage, especially when she went through mood swings during the pregnancy and it would be one of the few times that ANBU would rather chase the demon cat then face her wrath. One of the council members was dumb enough to say "That demon's mother is just lucky she died during the attack or else we would have demanded her death as well."
"Which would have been denied and we would have demanded your immediate removal for trying to kill a loyal ninja of Konoha." Fugaku said, while somewhat glad they didn't figure out who the father is, at the same time disappointed because they wanted to make Mikoto's best friend pay for giving birth while the village is under attack, "And what makes you think Kushina had a hand in the Kyubi attack?"
"Especially because Kushina started giving birth after the Kyubi attack," Tsume said, sick of the lack of loyalty the civilian council keep demonstrating, "So why go after her unless some of you are still mad because Minato preferred her over any one of you or your daughters."
As much as they want to help bring the civilians down, unless it's about money or whatever they want, everything else tends to go in one ear and out the other. "So why were we called here?" Jiraiya asked, although he already has a good idea on what it is.
"We demand you to relinquish guardianship of the demon!" A council member yelled out.
Both Sannin crossed their arms across their chest, pretty much saying something along the lines of not going to happen, "And why should we do that?" Tsunade asked, "Why should we deny the happiness that Naruto deserves so badly?"
"That monster doesn't deserve happiness; he deserves to be punished for what he did."
"The only monster we see are the ones sticking their noses into things that they shouldn't be in." Inochi said, "While also trying to make a quick buck by making sure somebody gets blamed for a tragic event."
"And a hearty stick it up where the sun don't shine to your so called demands." Jiraiya said, the council getting close to nuclear, "Sensei already told us about some rules that not even you can violate and it was done in private so that way there would be no interference from anybody against the idea of happiness for an innocent boy."
"Plus no matter what you say, we will be the ones to ensure Naruto's future, even if it means fighting everybody that says otherwise." Tsunade said, "And like the clans, we won't hesitate to fight back if you can't keep a firm grip on your pets' leashes."
Deciding to add some salt to the wound, "So Tsunade, I take it you're going to retake the Senju Clan Head position?" Hiruzen asked, causing a lot of people's eyes to widen, especially those who fear about the return of power towards the ninja.
Tsunade was having mixed reactions, while she hated politics almost as much as she hated perverts, even though it doesn't mean she doesn't know how to play the game, especially when it comes to people destroying her grandfather's dreams, while at the same time she can help protect Naruto by making sure that the civilians can no longer get away with whatever they want. "Sure, why not. I want to help make sure the village my grandfather and granduncle dreamed of doesn't end up a ghost of itself."
Danzo decided to have a say in this, "Are you sure we should have somebody with questionable habit's on the council, Lord Hokage?"
"Depends on what you mean by questionable, Danzo." Hiruzen countered, making the man growl slightly, knowing exactly what that's implying.
Flashback ends
Since then, both the civilian council and advisors had a reason to hate the Sannin because not only were they raising and protecting the village pariah, they were not afraid to fight back against those who would try to attack them, including a couple of Danzo's troops and a council member thinking their political power was strong enough to take on two Sannin. Danzo's troops were sent to Ibiki, while the council member is still recovering from a punch to the face via Jiraiya when he tried to order him to stand down while he tries to kill Naruto. Plus, their power has reduced greatly after finding some laws that were put into place to boost their power before Hiruzen could return to power.
Right now the current issue that is going through the council chambers is the new clause that Hiruzen put into effect where people have to have proof of any wrong doing, mainly because he was getting tired of people accusing Naruto of every little thing. So now if Naruto, or somebody else, was to be accused of something, they need to prove it, especially the council since they tend to accuse him of cheating whenever their kids try to miss with him.
Haruno Residence, after the academy
Naruto and Sakura are having a nice little chat in her backyard, talking about the end of the year exams coming up at the academy and what they have been learning. While it took some convincing, mainly on Tsunade's part, to let Naruto spend the night at her house, with him being the only friend for a change. It didn't help matters any when Jiraiya and Kizashi decided to embarrass them by making it seem more then what it seems, although the two had no idea what they were talking about, only to get throttled by Tsunade and Mebuki in the process.
"So, are you going to train to use any kind of weapons, Sakura?" Naruto asked.
"Well, maybe senbon needles, but I want to use my fists the same way Tsunade does." Sakura said, with a bit of hero worship in her voice, "But I also don't want to become an old drunken gambler like her."
At a nearby casino, "Ah-Choo!" was heard, followed by "Goddammit!" Due to the fact that Tsunade's sneeze caused her to toss the cards in her hand to fly up in the air.
"Yeah, I don't blame you." Naruto said, "I wouldn't mind learning some jutsus from Jiraiya, but I don't want to grow up to become a lonely old pervert like him."
From out of nowhere, "I am not a lonely old pervert you little brat!" Which scared the kids a bit because it was almost like the man was psychic, even though they weren't aware of the ass-whooping being done to the man by ire, towel-clad women.
"So what's it like to have Sannin as godparents?" Sakura asked.
The month after being taken under their wing, Naruto decided to get his friends together and tell them everything, from the truth about Kyubi to who his parents were. That day proved how strong the friendship was because nothing has changed between them except that they became closer, with Sakura being a bit closer, but for the right reasons. When they told their parents everything, they couldn't be proud that their kids, that their friendship will pass on to the next generation, although some of the mothers seem to be getting a head start on planning some weddings.
"Well, it's different, but not much different from you having your parents." Naruto said, as he looked towards the house while Mebuki seemed to be chasing Kizashi around with a butcher knife, "Although there are times I wonder who the adults are supposed to be."
"Yeah, you and me both." Sakura said, before deciding to change the subject, "So is Kakashi still trying to get you to read those orange books?"
"Not anymore ever since that time Tsunade and a bunch of the clan mothers kept destroying them whenever he started to read them in front of me." Naruto said, "One of the few times I get to see a grown man weeping like a little baby." Sakura couldn't help but to giggle at the thought, before resting her head on his shoulder.
Here is the latest chapter, sorry it took so long, but I'm at one of those crossroads in life that I'm not sure which one I should take. Sorry if some parts prove to be a big disappointment, my mind was in multiple places at once and whatever focus I needed for writing was at a bare minimum. If anybody has any suggestions on classes or couples, feel free to suggest it, but the ones mentioned, or hinted, are nonnegotiable. Still need suggestions for manga for characters. Somebody suggested Katara from Avatar for Sakura, but figured Hinata would be a better match, since their styles seem to be a perfect match. Read and Review, and have a Happy Easter.
