This is a story chapter, focusing on what is going on with everybody now to get the story going. Trying a little experiment where, until when it becomes time for me to throw in the canon, or at least my version of it, one chapter explains what happens during a time skip, mainly trying to avoid plot holes, since the canon Naruto series has so many, and the next is to get the story going in the present. Basically, something different.
And somebody said I didn't understand the mechanics of the NaruHina coupling, and all I can ask is what mechanics? NaruHina, like SasuSaku was poorly built, and is badly maintained, considering that it was a fan that got them together officially in the canon, and Kiskimoto is doing a bad job of showing why they belong together since you never really see the pairs acting like spouses towards each other, more like how they do during the entire series. If they were meant to be, then Kishimoto should have done a better job of proving it, since with Boruto getting his own series, he would probably add more drama, and way less family moments.
Anyways, on with the fic, and Shino with Kamen Rider, that is going to be a tough one, but which Rider can you picture Shino having more in common with? Right now, I'm just starting things off with Decade when it comes to Kamen Rider, and clueless about the rest of them.
Academy-Naruto's class
Naruto and the crew are learning calligraphy, and since it's past noon, due to the fact that thanks to the physical training, the kids are wide awake thanks to the extra energy and their minds more focused. While some of the civilian kids whined over why this class is so important, Iruka had to answer them every time they ask how they help in a ninja career, from making maps to making seals. Unfortunately, that tends to go in one ear and out the others out of a small few them, which makes it easy to spot either the brats of council members, thinking their status well be more than enough, or in translation, have others do the dirty work, or those full of themselves, thinking they are all that, but don't do a thing to prove it(like Calvin in Calvin and Hobbes).
Naruto is the top student in this subject, because of his early start on fuinjutsu, along with having a seal master as a godfather, that he helps Iruka with those who need help with either making a map, or making one of the most basic of seals, a storage seal. In some ways, you can tell which ones which ones has the parents that are more humble when compared to the kids of those that really hate Naruto and his supporter. The first ones are willing to accept Naruto's help, and do well enough to draw a decent map, and a good enough seal that doesn't self-destruct, or disfigure the object, once activate, which in turn, gives parents a chance to become humble enough to treat Naruto and those close to him with some respect. The other ones, well, are helped by Mizuki, who tries to sabotage Naruto and those he help to make his group look better, yet it always backfires, because ever since the academy became less civilian friendly and a bit more real world, the teachers, and the staff are more through in making sure that no student gets any kind of special treatment, or in Naruto's case, protection from any kind of sabotage, and in turn, his students are amongst the lowest in the class. To add insult to injury, Kakashi has been taking a more active interest in Naruto's wellbeing, from guard duty to keeping a close eye on Mizuki, that he is being watched with a suspicious eye by most of the ninja population.
Right now, Iruka is getting ready to give one of three progressive exams, the first in fact, to see what the students can do now, and what needs improving on each individual. "Okay students, time for your first exam of the class." Getting a slight 'ahhhh' from most of the class, and a 'yes' from Sakura (Figured she and Hermione Granger be the same when it comes to studying and exams) "Now, the first well consist of you writing the seals you were taught," He said, while he and Mizuki grabbed a stack of papers.
Konoha Hospital
Tsunade is doing the biannual, required checkup of Koharu, one of the final two elders in Konoha, considering that when the Hokage agreed to make it mandatory for all those working for the village, from the ANBU to the Council, to go through an examination, physical, mental, emotional, everything needed to make sure that they can not only serve their village, but also make sure they are still fit to do so. It was one of those things that most of the council protested with vengeance, even tried to override the order, which is also now a law, but unfortunately for them, Hiruzen found a few loopholes, along with some laws that even Homura seem to have overlooked, which states how much power the head of the hospital would have when need be, especially over a kage, when it comes to the health of the village. And Hiruzen, along with the backing of the Shinobi council, along with sending a quick letter of the Fire Lord about his new plans, this time, the rest of the council had no say about what they can or can't do. A physical at the hospital, and members of the Yamanaka Clan doing the rest, while Ibiki gets the ones that seem to have questionable intentions, or hobbies.
The only downsides, on two different fronts, was that Danzo seemed to have disappeared between that meeting, which was months ago, and the next one, along with his ROOT troops, which could only mean he had something really bad to hide, and while Hiruzen and the Clan Heads would be more than happy about him leaving, yet the downside for them is that not only does the walking mummy disappear with all of his secrets intact, but also, all the secrets to the village, and thanks to his latest splurge of recruits, minus the Uchiha, Hyuga and Senju, he has a few secrets of the clans through some of their members he helped himself to, one of the things that Hiruzen wished he prevented.
As for the rest, the major downside for most of them is that with Danzo gone, whatever power they had left dropped drastically because Danzo provided the intimidation factor with his ROOT army, along with the fact, for his part anyway, the Civilian Council were both too arrogant and ignorant in what they do well come with consequences. The remaining two elders knew better, because they themselves were ninja once upon a time, and knew Danzo to where he would have every dirty little secret he can get his hands on, not just the village itself, but also, everybody living in it that he would consider a threat to his plans. While they failed to intimidate Minato, and when Hiruzen told them about the law where the Elders leave with the Kage, they knew the kage was going to be in charge again, and when confronted with everything, included the required trip to the doctors, Hiruzen countered by saying he is looking into the best interest of the village by making sure the leaders are healthy and capable of doing so, while also saying that he has talked to Fugaku and Hiashi about being suspicious about their councils getting outside help with their plans for taking over their clans. While two of them denied it, although a little too fast to make them seem suspicious, while Danzo kept silent, and the next day, left town, while leaving his comrades holding the bag. While nothing can be proven for now, thanks to Danzo keeping such evidence to himself, it keeps them far from clear to those who already suspect who is after more power than they actually deserve.
At the moment, Tsunade was using a diagnostic jutsu on Koharu, being through, and even though the jutsu make it where the lady elder doesn't get the other version of getting examined which is by hand, she is still feeling humiliated. "I still can't believe I have to go through this mess. Me, an elder, has to be treated like some lowly genin."
"Now Lady Elder," Tsunade countered, the sarcasm behind how she said the title was easily noticeable, "Even somebody as 'important' as yourself can spare about an hour of your time to make sure old tools such as yourself are still in working order."
"Tools . . ." Koharu said with venom, not liking being called something she uses herself.
Tsunade, not being fazed by this at all, "Oh right, weapons, since you used to be a ninja yourself, something you and your friends keep on forgetting." She said, causing Koharu to really be angry, because she is being called the same thing she calls Naruto and the shinobi of the village, "And if you think you can intimidate me, you have another thing coming because I don't care. My job is to make sure everybody in this village is healthy, and you seem to forget that according to the law, even a doctor can be above a kage when it comes to the health and wellbeing of their patients."
Koharu was really starting to despise Tsunade, because she is using the law against her, just like how she used, or rather abused, them when it came to her 'talks' with Hiruzen on what needs to be done for the village. "Listen here you no good . . ." She started to say, only to stop when Tsunade gave her a look that would make even Hiruzen forget that he outranked her.
"No you listen, because you seem to forget that you were once humans yourself, somebody who used to be on the bottom, when my Grandfather Hashirama was the Kage, and my Granduncle Tobirama was your sensei (Not sure if I got that right), that if they see you right now, we both know what they would do to you, despite your position." Tsunade said, causing the Elder to pail a bit, because while officially, the Nidaime was her team's sensei, yet both Senju Brothers like to train, and punish, them by double teaming them until they were battered and beaten all over, "And what's sad about you is that you don't realize the powder keg you and the other old coot are close to causing to explode with the Civilian Council."
"While both Homura and myself agree that the Civilian Council aren't the brightest bunch we have when compared to say an academy student, and letting them take control of the academy was a really dumb move, yet they proved to be a means to an end when it came time to gain some power over the Hokage." Koharu said, showing how divided the councils really are.
"And somehow, you don't see a few major flaws in that." Tsunade said. Wanting to say more, but sad thing is, those in power, especially for most of their lives, tend to be more thickheaded on who they believe is in the right, which is mainly themselves, while the rest of the world was wrong, and talking common sense to them would be a waste of breath. "Anyway, despite your age, you're still healthy as can be, but right now, like Hiruzen-Sensei, I think your job is slowly killing you, especially every time you have to try and convince the village that everything you do is right, despite being proven otherwise."
"Are you trying to get even for how we treated your godson?" Koharu asked, trying to catch the blonde off guard, only to receive no response, "After all, the two who were picked by the Fourth Hokage and his 'wife' to look over that thing they called a child."
"And I, along with Jiraiya, are doing everything we can to make up for our mistakes with Naruto by actually being there and giving him the family he deserves, no matter what you, your partner, or those pathetic excuses of human beings you called a Civilian Council say about him not deserving it." Tsunade said, writing a few things on the clipboard, "And I know the main reason why you hate Kushina is because not only was she the last known survivor of the Uzumaki Clan, a clan that mine, along with the village, that for some reason, we didn't end up helping during the war after all the things they have done for us, but also, when she married Minato, somebody who proved to be a rising star, not only did they protect each other from your grubby hands from what might be considered the Uzumaki bloodline, to whatever Minato created, or fixed up." She then looked at the Elder, before deciding to walk out, "And no matter how hard you tried to deny it, Naruto is a child, which has been proven more than once right under your nose, and you keep trying to claim he is something that he isn't, and deny him the rights that he deserves as much as anybody else in this village." When she opened the door to leave, "And do you want to know a real irony? The Kyubi is probably more human then you ever were."
When the door closed, pretty much the only thing left in the room is a ticked off elder, pretty peeved at the fact that not only was she talked down like some teenager who thought they knew the world from lack of experience, yet also, the person that did it is one of the few to make the village better, and has plenty of titles, from Senju Princess to Revolution Lady Medic. So now, any plan for revenge has to be planned out accordingly. But first, Koharu needs to talk to the only friend that is on the same wavelength as herself.
Hokage's Office
Jiraiya is talking to his sensei, giving him an update on his search for Danzo, which was far from good. When Tsunade implemented one of the changes that made it mandatory for those working for the village directly, wither ninja or government official, which was about 3,4 months ago, the Elders were the strongest opponents of this new rule, because 1. They don't like being told what to do by anyone, even if it's orders from the Hokage, and 2. Because they don't want to be exposed to a secret that they bribed some doctors on, which is why Danzo left, because he seems to have the biggest secrets out of everybody in Fire Country.
"So I take it you lost track of Danzo and his ROOT ninja, Jiraiya?" Hiruzen asked.
"I'm afraid so Sensei." Jiraiya answered, after spending about a couple of months digging up leads, "Lost track of him in Rice Country, and that's what makes me worried, especially when it involves the Fuma Clan." He then gave a grimmer look, "Especially with some rumors I've been hearing about both lately."
Hiruzen gave a look that said he wasn't sure if he wanted to know the worse news heading his way, "And what are these rumors saying?" He asked.
"While rumors of a new Hidden Village doesn't sound too much to worry about," Jiraiya said, with Hiruzen given him an agreeing nod because he could see if Konoha can be one of the first allies, "Yet, along the Clan, they seem to hint at the fact that a certain snake is behind it all."
Hiruzen's eyes widened, knowing full well who his student was referring to, "Orochimaru." He said, getting a good idea where this was going.
Jiraiya gave a small nod, "You got it, and with Danzo heading over there, you need to start having a chat with the Clan Heads and anybody Jonin and up to start anteing up their training, along with making sure all the Genin and Chunin are in the best of shape." He said, "And I hope you took Naruto's advice on making dummy scrolls that looks like the Scroll of Seals . . ." When he noticed his sensei give off a grin that would even make Kushina a bit nervous, "Let me guess, Danzo made off with one."
Hiruzen gave a small chuckle, "Yes, and it's the one Naruto suggested involving what certain creatures leave behind." He said, definitely getting Jiraiya's attention.
"You mean the Shit-Bomb scroll?" H asked, causing the smirk to nearly break the old kage's face, along with a nod, "So you actually asked Tsume to see if she is willing contribute her clan's dogs to the seal?"
"Enma actually." Hiruzen said, catching his student off guard, "When I told him what I was planning to do, along with what was needed, he was more than glad to take the scroll that I wanted to be used back to his realm, load it, clean it and deliver it." He then decided to throw in another twist, "And since that seal is also part explosive tag . . ."
Somewhere in Rice Country
It was a peaceful day in the marsh, at least until *boom!* the ground shook with a loud explosion, followed by a loud commotion, ranging from wondering about the beyond awful smell, to something along the lines of something being in somebody's hair, mostly sounding female, with a pair of voices yelling out in anger 'Sarutobi/Sensei!"
Back to the Dirty Old Men
"Then the shit not only hit the fan, it buried it." Jiraiya said, finally catching up.
"Yes, and knowing both my traitorous ex-student and rival are thinking, they are not going to let this humiliation go for too long." Hiruzen said, going back to serious, "Which is why I plan to hold an important meeting for all the Jonin, ANBU, and Clans."
Jiraiya nodded, before talking more about what needs to be discussed.
Academy-After the last class
Naruto is at the academy, talking to Kakashi who decided to pick him up and catch up on everything, while ignoring the hateful glares he was getting from the villagers, to where most haven't caught on that what they're doing is pointless, while the rest caught on, and their glares intensified because of their bruised ego over that fact
While Naruto, along with Sakura, Lee, and Choji, are talking with their families, when a trio of kids, the leader of the group, a blonde with a cocky smile that said bow down world, (Mainly, FF8 Seifer, but more like how he looks on KHII) walked out the door, and looked around, looking for a target, He then noticed Naruto and walked up to him, even though Naruto never seemed to bother looking at his direction. When he came in close, "Hey you!"
Well, here it is, the latest chapter, and sorry about the cliffhanger, but had a bit of a brain fart, that and one of the reasons why it took so long to write this, well, life kept getting in the way, and been busy trying to go back to college to try and take a crack at a Bachelor's Degree. As for the kids, well, figured for two different versions of rivals: A friendly rivalry between say Naruto and Sasuke, or Sakura and Ino, and the other, well the kind that brings in bullies, and gives the characters something to deal with, especially when it comes to character growth, especially when it helps the Konoha Dozen become closer by having them get a better look at what Naruto had to grow up with during the early parts of his life. And for some reason figured who would make better bullies then Seifer and his pals Raijin and Fujin. Anyway, Read and Review, and hopefully, I would be able to get back at the swing of things, with writing as part of the routine.
