Soon, I will have them all.

After writing up to Taiga's POV, I suddenly forgot this fanfic's existence and only remembered on early December of 2022.

Chapter 21 – End of the War

(Lancer POV)

"Damn…" I complained as I evaded a fist that would've taken my head off my shoulders.

"▅▂▃▂▃▅▂▅" Berserker roared and charged at me once more.

*Clang*

Each kill that I delivered only made him stronger. My spear can no longer penetrate his impervious skin. My runes are too weak to even hurt him, and my Noble Phantasm has already been used. My final gamble of using the thrown version of my Noble Phantasm wasn't enough to take all his lives, though it did destroy his axe sword when he used it for some modicum of defense. [1]

The air was knocked out of me as I rolled across the ground and smashed through trees.

As I got to my feet, I side stepped as the big guy came from above, intent on crushing me with his feet.

I felt a few of my ribs groan in protest to my movement, but I ignored it in favor of facing this incredible warrior.

Ath nGabla, a curse that forces two people two fight until death, didn't allow either of us to retreat. There was only one way to remove it, to kill or be killed.

I know that I'm already beaten, the logical thing to do would be to allow him to just end me, but—

Runes that increase my agility allowed me to get evade the incoming hammer fist. It was so strong that even if it didn't even graze me, I could still feel a portion of the impact. I scored a few hits at his side even if I knew it wouldn't do anything.

I didn't know why I was still fighting.

The corners of my mouth turned up with a big grin on my face.

Was I… enjoying this?

I see… well then, before I go, won't you dance with me until my death, Berserker?

"▂▂▂▃▃▅▅▅"

(Kotomine Kirei POV)

I and that boy, Shirou, went our separate ways after the waves of darkness ceased sending their forces unto the city.

All that's left is hunting down the stragglers that may or may not have pervaded the city despite our efforts.

With the advantage of the bow's range, the boy is more suited to defeating the unholy abominations swifter than I.

I prowled the forest, searching for any that were able to hide from our eyes.

1

I threw my black key at the shade turning to face me. It didn't even get to howl as the holy energy utterly annihilated it.

"███████████████"

It's pack noticed me and charged directly, how foolish.

2, 3, 4

The remaining black keys in my left hand were thrown, each finding their mark.

5, 6, 7, 8

I do the same with the ones in my right hand to the same result.

I fixed my stance as I waited for the remaining five snapping their jaws at me.

9

A single strike with my palm was sufficient to kill it.

10, 11

Surprisingly, my kick was able to go through two shades.

12

A chop from my hand splits it in twain.

13

I thrust my elbow upwards at the shade's center.

It was done, now—

"Damn, why the heck do I even need to clean up this mess?"

I quickly gathered my thrown black keys and faced the direction the voice was coming from.

"Oooo, nice, thanks for making my job easier man."

Despite the affable facade it presents, I could feel the curses radiating from it, killing the surrounding plant life.

"Nice to meetcha, the name's Angra Mainyu."

I raised my guard as I took in the featureless humanoid creature claiming to be a god of evil.

"Hey, don't be like that man, I already lost. I mean, if I wanted to kill you—"

Two jagged knives crossed at my neck.

"—you'd be dead already."

I relaxed my body and sheathed my armaments. The next moment, the evil god is in front of me once again.

Despite having fought enemies of humanity such as Dead Apostles and True Ancestors, this was the first time that I couldn't even react against an attack.

"Sorry bout that." His response drips of insincerity "To make it up to ya, I All the World's Evil, Angra Mainyu, shall answer once question of yours."

For an instant, I felt an incredible power replace the being in front of me, one of pure utter evil devouring the world, and like a candle to the wind, it disappeared.

Did he know? Of the question that I desired to be answered so badly? Will he truly answer it so easily? I opened my lips and asked my question.

"Can one born of evil find happiness in doing good? Is it a crime to live as you are, when you are different from others?"

I do not see it, but I feel that the evil god gave me a sinister smile.

"Let's start with a story setting then. There was this big bad goddess who got wrecked by a bunch of guys, blah, blah, blah, and then she died and split into a good baby and an evil baby."

I was not familiar with the goddess he was referring to, but for some reason, I could tell that every word he has said is fact.

"Then some idiot of a gigachad decided that he was gonna raise the evil baby. After that…"

"And then…?" I reflexively asked in anticipation.

"The 100% maximum no good baby turned out fine. She wasn't a psycho or murderhobo, the idiot managed to make her happy with her life. He raised her with tender loving care and made an evil baby happy, the end."

"…" It was a crude retelling of events, but it properly answered my question. So that was why he smiled, while it gave me hope, it also sent a clear message.

My quest to find happiness was likely to end in failure.

"Thank you." I uttered with sincerity. He simply answered me to give me greater suffering in the future, but that was fine.

I, Kotomine Kirei, was not a mistake.

It was the first time that I ever cried in happiness.

(Rider POV)

After laying the woman who looked like a grown up Illyasviel into the soft grass, I finally realized what happened to my body.

I incarnated.

How frustrating, to think that I would grow even taller in the near future…!

Wait, that's not it. Protecting Sakura would be a tad more difficult due to losing my ability to astralize, but I can compensate with my meager Magecraft.

The real problem would be my food consumption burdening finances, having the need to sleep, and having to forge my identity again.

Having connections to the local yakuza helped a lot on the last one, a connection that we no longer have.

"What a surprise." Archer manifested nearby. "To think that touching her was enough to incarnate someone…"

"…" Ah, the alternate version of Shirou who chose to pursue his dream of being a hero of justice.

To be honest, I would've never connected the dots if Shirou and Rin didn't explain.

"…I see, so you remember me from the previous war, didn't you?" Was I that easy to read? "Considering that I'll be stuck here in the foreseeable future, allow me to help you."

"Fufufu." I involuntarily let out a giggle.

Archer's brow, which now that I look at it, seems similar to Shirou's, rose in question. Truly, no matter what version of Shirou he is, he can't help but help others.

(Tohsaka Rin POV)

"Rin-chan, we should probably go home, it's already late." That was like, the hundredth time that Kariya-oji-san repeated that sentence.

"We can't." I declared. "We have to protect everyone if Kirei couldn't hold them all back."

I took a test with Kirei if my offensive magecraft was enough to take down the enemy. Thankfully, the Magic Crest otou-sama left behind has some. Most of it was Jewel Magecraft, but there were things like [Gandr], a ball of each of the four elements, [Reinforcement], and [Projection] and [Alteration] with a few blueprints.

I shot Kirei with a [Finn Shot], a super version of [Gandr]. He said that it was enough to bring them down in a few hits.

With an expert like him saying so, then I can beat them! I slept earlier so that I could do my best tonight, but Kariya-oji-san looks like a grumpy cat.

He let out a yawn before looking around the empty streets before taking out the Mana Compass I gave him.

"We've been walking for about an hour already and there hasn't been a reaction." He complained with worry in his face.

He doesn't really know what I'm capable of, after all, he wasn't a Magus. Though it really made me feel warm when he shows that he really cares.

"I just wanted to make sure Kariya-oji-san." I look at him straight in the eye. "I… don't want anything to happen either."

I was scared, but even so, I gave him a smile.

"But if us being here can prevent a tragedy, then I'll do it."

Kotone's brother… he and three other people died. Her face was horrible, red eyes, eyebags, crying at the slightest reminder, messy hair, runny nose, and dead fish-eyes. [2]

I… don't want anyone else to end up like that.

"…You're a good person, Rin-chan."

"H-hey! Stop ruffling my hair!" All the effort I did with my hair, wasted.

Kariya-oji-san was more alert after that.

Over the next thirty minutes or so, my senses, linked with the land of Fuyuki, felt massive bursts of Magical Energy. I normally couldn't feel things like that. Just how much Magical Energy are they using?

After another half an hour or so, Kirei called us with the communication jewel.

"Rin, the main enemy forces have been eliminated." He sounded sort of… hoarse. "Unfortunately, stragglers have entered the city."

Both of us went rigid at that.

"Do not underestimate them." He reminded. "I will arrive as soon as I can."

The jewel shattered, its energy reserves depleted.

"Rin-chan." He pleaded some me to reconsider again.

I resolutely shook my head, standing by my earlier words.

As if to silence him, the Mana Compass lazily pointed towards the alleyway.

I rolled up my left sleeve and grit my teeth. I imagined a knife stabbing my heart and activated it.

Even after taking medication to suppress the Magic Crest—

"Guh…!" Kariya-oji-san looked at me in concern, but I can't be distracted now.

—it still hurts so much. This was something that all Magi families have to live with.

Carefully, I went towards the direction the compass was pointing at. I jumped on the alleyway and aimed my arm forward.

"███████████████"

The moment it saw me, it charged, thankfully, I had a clear shot.

I hit it with a [Finn Shot] in the middle of its body.

It was struck backwards, but it wasn't over yet. I saw it getting up, ignoring the hole in its chest. It charged again, this time, it was enough to put it down as it dissolved like dust to the air.

I turned the crest off, giving me relief from the pain. I took deep breaths to err, regulate my body heat, yes. It's a very important thing to do since my body is young and can't take such a huge increase in internal temperature.

As I turn around, I saw Kariya-oji-san's face turned from astonished to worried.

"Rin-chan." He put his hand on my forehead. "You're burning up."

"It can't be helped." I removed his hand. "That's just how Magecraft is."

He looked… sad. Was it something I said?

"Well, good job Rin-chan, look." He took the compass in his pocket. "There's no—"

The arrow was pointing directly behind him.

"Eh?"

Before I realized it, I was swept off my feet in a carry, my head peeking out of his shoulder as I felt the wind at my back as he ran.

"███████████████"

Another one of those things started chasing us. Still though—

"You can use Magecraft?!"

"Yeah." He jumped over a bunch of stuff before turning at the corner. "I may not have much training, but that priest said that even I should be able to do some [Reinforcement]."

I could see that, but he was wasting so much Magical Energy though.

"███████████████"

Oh, right, we still had to deal with that.

Activating the crest once more, I aimed while peeking through his shoulder.

With the proper distance, I made short work of it, though my aim was a bit off since we were moving.

"Haaah…. haah…" I was reaching my limit, my Magical Energy reserves is still good, but my body was heating up too much, and I can feel my eyes blur.

"That's it Rin-chan, I—gah?!"

As he was walking forward, he abruptly turned around and covered me.

I saw black claws carve at his back, blood spurting out.

"███████████████"

Ambush?!

He started running again even while he was bleeding from his wounds.

"Are you okay?!"

"Don't worry Rin-chan, just take care of that guy…!"

I repeated the same action, but this time, I concentrated and a properly aimed shot destroyed it in one [Finn Shot].

"Kariya-oji-san!" I looked on with concern.

"Like I said, don't worry. [Reinforcement] blunted the attack. A journalist like me can react quickly and make fast decisions. I'm especially proud of my ability to run away." He said with a smile.

Why in the Root is he proud of being good at running away?

"███████████████"

There's more of them?!

We started running away while they chase us through the empty streets.

"We're going home, Rin."

Right, the house has a Bounded Field to protect us.

I probably only have one shot left, time to make it count…

Ready, aim—

Black Keys.

"Eh?"

Black Keys hit every enemy that was following us.

"Rin, Matou-san, are you both fine?"

And so ends my first foray into the combat side of the Moonlit World.

(Emiya Kiritsugu)

"Excellent work." Frankly, Acht's pleased expression disturbs me. I have never seen the man so giddy. "We may have lost the Holy Grail, but the return of lady Justeaze to our family is a far better result than that failure of a ritual."

"I will arrange for her return immediately." He tucked the Einzbern ancestor and Taiga on the same bed.

I heard the impact of a fist against a face over the phone.

"Kiri, thank goodness you're alright…" A childish giggle resounded after her words. "Ah, Illya-chan is saying hello to her papa!"

Joyful sounds of my family soothed my soul.

"Iri… do you want to move over here?"

A moment of silence passed.

"I would love to!" She shouted with greater enthusiasm than usual. "I've always wanted to travel, especially to your country."

"You'll have to wait for a bit though, I'll have to buy land and build a house." He stared at his guns, enough for a small platoon of soldiers. "I'll also have to clean up a bit in the surrounding regions."

"But Kiri, didn't you say that Fuyuki doesn't have much presence?" Ah, she got it a bit wrong.

"I'm talking about the mundane side of things."

"Oh right, since we can take care of anything the Moonlit World can throw at us, we only need to take care of the other elements to give our child a wonderfully peaceful and normal life." She agreed. "How long do you think it will take?"

"It could be anything from a few months to a bit over a year." I suppose I should start gathering information now. Raiga should know about the local area. "I'll be sending Maiya to guard you and your ancestor while I clean up here."

"She's your longtime assistant, right? I've always wanted to meet her."

Hopefully, Iri would be able to break Maiya out of her shell.

"Yeah, I'll call as often as I can. I'll miss you."

"Bye, Kiri, I love you."

I wouldn't give up my family for anything. I was no longer that man.

"I love you too."

(Fujimura Taiga POV)

I feel like an unoiled motorcycle. Moving was hard, and I felt like I went on an entire kendo tournament without breaks. What time is it?

I hear jingling keys and the sound of the door opening. My vision was getting clearer—

"Aaa… ugh…" I grunted as I turned my head to the side.

"Taiga, you're finally awake." He sat at the bedside and dropped what he was carrying. "If your body feels heavy, that's because you need to replenish your Magical Energy. You should've recovered by now, but you strained yourself yesterday."

"So it's like having a sprain… but magic?"

"Yes, a good analogy." He praised.

"Uuughhh…" I complained.

"Usually, Magi would bury themselves in their land to recover their depleted reserves, but I doubt you would want that." [3]

I suddenly had an image of Kiritsugu-san buried from the neck down, his head receiving sunlight and rain

"Of course not!" Were the Magi people actually trees?!

"Heh." Wait, did he just…

A smirk and amused eyes. It was the first time he joked around with me. I kinda liked it.

I turned my head around and sulked. Can't have him getting used to teasing me after all.

Oh right, I have an important question to ask him.

"Kiritsugu-san." I kept my head turned, not having the courage to ask him to his face "Are you… leaving?"

To be honest, I wanted to keep him around. I… didn't want to be selfish though. He is his own person, and if he wanted to go, I wouldn't stop him, even if I know it'll hurt.

"Yes."

I clenched the sheets to stop myself from crying.

"I-I see, then—"

"But it's only temporary. I plan on returning and settling down in Fuyuki."

My heart leapt in joy.

"Before I do that, I want to eliminate the surrounding criminals first." I perked up at his words. "My targets would be mostly organizations that deal in drugs and human trafficking." It was music to my ears.

Dealing with the black market would have a lot of knock off effects and I didn't know how to deal with laundering. Protection rackets are… a bit iffy. Some are necessary like ours, others, not so much. I still remember the stories about the chaos 60 years ago. [4]

"Kiritsugu-san, can I come with you?" I couldn't contain my excitement.

"…Yes, since Maiya is away on an important mission, I could use the help."

It was just going to be the two of them…

Fighting crime side by side, our backs to each other…

The screams of criminals as their empire crumbled…

I'm sorry Maiya-san, I'm going to go ahead of you. Please don't blame me for taking advantage.

Even without a mirror, I could tell that I was smiling like an idiot.

"Thank you! Those guys won't know what hit em!" After I get up and recover that is.

Still, I can't help but feel that I forgot about something. Kiritsugu-san seems like he feels the same.

I wonder… what did we forget?

(Illyasviel von Einzbern POV)

"Welcome back Berserker!" I gave my Servant a biiiig hug. My arms couldn't even cover his chest though… "That guy's pretty strong, to have taken so many of your lives…"

I felt his agreement through our bond.

"With this, all that's left is having onii-chan help me in finding a body."

They should be able to find one quickly, after all, they would have experience finding one when I transferred Shirou's soul into that low rank container before.

"This time, I'll be an actual imouto. Hmmm, about Sakura's age should be fine."

When her age hits ten, I will get in the doll and live together with them. Right, that would be more… was it organic? People's metaphors are strange sometimes.

"There's nothing to do here…"

I should probably move over to the Matou estate. It'll take some time to adjust the land to my liking, but at least I won't be bored.

"I wish they would hurry up though…"

Sakura was still in the hospital and Shirou is probably in some orphanage since he didn't meet Kiritsugu. At this rate, it'll take forever before they could get her.

"If only I had Liz and Sella, or even Bonifacius and Otto here." [5]

It can't be helped, I just have to wait.

Just a bit more and I will finally have a wonderful life in onii-chan's harem.

Now then, where can I get some anime?

(Matou Sakura POV)

I didn't expect this to be honest, getting sent to another world after my counterpart here died.

Even more unexpected was having Shirou and Rider with me. I will have to get used to calling him senpai again.

"Sakura-chan, your relatives are here to visit you." A nurse kindly informed me before leaving.

Immediately after, they entered.

"Ah—" Tears fell from my eyes as I saw them.

"Sakura-chan!" Kariya-oji-san gave me a hug. "You're alright, what a relief… It was scary right? But you don't have to worry anymore, you're safe here."

I continued crying, but not for the reasons he thought of.

"Oji-san…!" I gave him a tight hug. Even though he failed in my world, he still gave everything for my sake.

Despite suffering from so much pain, he pushed through and burned out.

"Sakura-chan." He separated himself from me and waved his hands towards the people behind him. "Your mom and sister are here to visit you too."

"Kaa-san…" To be honest, I don't know what to feel about her. My memory of her is… blurry, much like my father's.

Without saying a word, she and nee-san climbed atop the bed and enveloped me in a group hug. Oh, it feels really nice…

"Nee-san…" The color of our hair is the same. Maybe, this time, we can grow up together as sisters instead of strangers.

"I'm sorry, Sakura, I'm so sorry…!" Kaa-san cried.

"You don't need to go anymore, you and Kariya-oji-san can live with us." Nee-san declared in joy.

A happy family in a new world?

…I can live with that.

[1] Temporarily increased rank of NP with runes.

[2] This is noncanon. Also, the girl was barely mentioned after Zero so I can be a bit more flexible on her background even if I'm planning to do the same.

[3] Fun fact, Kirei actually buried Rin in Tohsaka land to recover her Od after getting drained by Dark Sakura.

[4] Taiga is a yakuza princess so she probably knows about this stuff. I also may be hilariously wrong, but for the sake of this fic, please ignore it. Also, the Fuyuki police are gutted a lot by Magi from previous wars.

[5] To those who don't know, the latter are Illya's stuffed toys.

AN:

Phew, finally finished the setting of the story.

Should Pre-Prillya stories be separated or should I just get an omake at the bottom?

I can't believe I got lucky in FGO, Illya and Miyu in one 10 roll, fate must be conspiring to make me continue writing.

The only ones I'm missing is old man Shirou for a set of the Emiya family, hehehe. Those extended family members I'm missing though… (Sitonai, Summer Illya)

Changing in POV is actually pretty difficult, I found myself using omniscient type viewpoint when I should be using the character's own view.

Also, capturing their way of thinking in their head is hard, never gonna do this again, it made me write waaaaay longer than I expected.

Rolls:

Kariya – 2, you coma till death.

Rin – 6, less trauma for you, reroll for Kariya limited to 3-6.

Kariya – 5, light injury.
