We are back to our characters, Miyu, Shirou, and Sakura, this is also pretty short.
Also, not writing in first person POV again.
Anyone want to try rewriting this story with better writing? No? Okay… I just have to trudge along writing this story then.
Chapter 22 – New World/New Home
After they poured their hearts out to each other, they noticed a golem maid with a saddle on her back transferring bags to the lion golem.
"Please follow me, Master's family." The golem bowed before moving through the tunnel.
"Um… Miyu-chan, was it? My name is Matou Sakura, it's nice to finally meet you. Senpai spoke fondly of you." She bent slightly at the waist and held out her hand.
"Nice to meet you too." She took her hand and shook it. Finally, one of her lessons about propriety being put into practice. "Onii-chan looks happy whenever he talks about you."
"Does he now?" She cupped her reddening cheeks. "How embarrassing."
The lion golem strode beside them and opened the side of its stomach to show an assortment of clothing. Both of them recognizing Shirou's signature jeans and blue and white shirt with a jacket. The others were female clothing with differing sizes.
Finally, she could get rid of the clothes given to her by the Ainsworths. Just looking at anything related to them made her experience bad memories. She stripped right there and then, uncaring for her brother nor Sakura's gaze.
"M-Miyu-chan?! Hold on, your brother is still there." She got her body between Shirou and Miyu to preserve Miyu's modesty.
Miyu simply looked at her in confusion. What was wrong? Wasn't this kind of thing normal? After all, onii-chan and onee-chan change clothes in the same room sometimes too.
"Isn't it normal to change clothes with your siblings?" Shirou questioned.
"…" Sakura was speechless at their combined lack of common sense. Still, now that she thought about it, it made sense. Senpai had amnesia, so he would've forgotten somewhat about proper values. Considering his father, who probably didn't teach him anything about that, he would just do what came to mind. If it didn't feel wrong, he would continue doing it.
His father died while they were young, so naturally, senpai would change his little sister's clothes, bathe her, dry her, and groom her.
She'll allow it for now, but she'll definitely teach these two about modesty.
With a sigh, she flexed her magecraft to cover herself from Shirou's eyes as she took the offered clothes.
They walked along the road under the night sky, covered from the eyes of the mundane with Mystic Codes that make them ignore the group.
On Shirou's left, his arm was entwined with Sakura's own, the two looking like a couple, if it wasn't for Miyu being carried with his right arm taking comfort in the familiar warmth that was her brother.
The streets were filled with people despite it being nighttime.
'She's shaking.' She was putting up a strong front, but she still hasn't recovered from losing someone precious all over again. Her body was tense, eyes wandering the area as if expecting something bad to happen. Every time a stranger pass by them, she flinches.
Silently, he shifted his arm to give her a firmer carry. Her tensed body relaxed a bit, but she didn't drop her vigilance.
They followed along the golems without a word, but wondering where they would be taken. The surroundings felt both foreign and familiar. Looking to Sakura, she seems to agree with his sentiments.
If he traced the path they were passing through with Fuyuki's geography and where they were walking, their destination would be—
The asphalt road gave way to a beach, the full moon shining with all its glory. And below was the ocean, illuminated only by the reflection of the moon.
"That's…" He heard Miyu gasp as she took in the sight.
"That's the ocean, Miyu." Shirou confirmed. "It looks different during the day too." He added.
"The Master has said that she wanted her precious imouto to see the ocean, stating that it was a long overdue promise." The golem robotically explained.
"Ah…" A well of emotions burst forth, causing Miyu's tears to flow. "Uhh… Onee-chan…" She called out longingly.
"Yeah, I miss her too Miyu." He comforted.
"I-I can see it onee-chan." She started. "The place where the sky and water meet, I can feel the cold ocean breeze, and hear the sound of the waves!" After her shout, she looked visibly better than before. "Thank you… and you were right, it really was near." Only a few minutes' walk from her biological family's graves. "Onii-chan, can you put me down?"
Sakura made herself scarce, retreating to the lion golem's side. She didn't want to intrude on such an important moment for the siblings after all.
She simply gazed gently upon the fairy like girl dipping her feet in the cold waves that crashed against the sand, spinning in circles as if dancing. She felt senpai retreat to her side as he joined her in gently watching his sister.
They stayed like that for a while, like a wife and husband watching their child play in the beach.
After Miyu finished savoring everything about the ocean, the golem led them to their new home. They were a bit shocked as they saw it and explored a bit.
"It looks exactly the same." Concluded Shirou.
Every single room was identical to the one they had in their original room. The same cooking utensils, placed in the same way they last used it, the furniture placement was also accurate to the millimeter. Heck, even the shed and the underground base was the same!
"So this is onee-chan's…" Miyu muttered, marveling at the secret base that she was barred from entering in the past. She held somewhat of a fascination of things with the word 'secret' or 'hidden' attached to them and this definitely counted.
"So this is a proper Magus' workshop." She looked around curiously, comparing it the one she knew. It was no contest. She didn't really get a proper tour of the base in the original world.
There, they encountered the first and only difference between this and the original world.
"Ah…" Shirou was disheartened at the implication.
B1st floor, entrance.
B2nd floor, training, simulator.
B3rd floor, golems, machines.
B4th floor, material storage.
B5th floor, operation room.
And the missing floor B6th, Ritsuka's room. There were also places he had never visited but knew of, like the kitchen, the cafeteria, the underground library, etc.
"Onii-chan?" Miyu asked in concern as Shirou had been staring at the wall for a while.
"…There was another elevator that was supposed to lead to Ritsuka's room here." He explained. 'Ritsuka, you knew you wouldn't be able to return, weren't you?' He thought wistfully.
Miyu stood beside him and put her hand on the wall.
"Onee-chan, we reached the place you wanted us to go." She started. "The memories we made, the bond that we have, I'll never forget. But most importantly—"
Her face still had traces of grief, but steely eyed determination shone.
"—I'll definitely fulfill my promise. I'll live happily, freely, and I'll face the world, even when it's scary, because I know that even so, there are so many beautiful things that can be seen in this wide world."
There were still things, she wanted to say, but—
"Thank you for everything, Onee-chan. We love you."
Canon Omake – The Tiger of Fuyuki and the Magus Killer
A girl and a man fought in a ring, a match to decide the new leader of the local troublemakers. They weren't really a gang or anything, it just escalated as Taiga fended off a bunch of scary mooks who were trying to help but were making things worse.
They figured that they would just scare off Taiga with some scary faces and numbers after that.
That was a mistake.
After Taiga beat the shit out of everyone, the leader appeared and challenged the newcomer and now, the match was coming to an end.
"Ooooohhhhhh!" The man rushed at the diminutive Taiga intent on rushing her down and throwing her out of the ring. Despite that, Taiga spread her hands wide, as if trying to catch him.
The crowd waited with bated breath as their leader took the girl who beat their entire gang very seriously.
Finally, they were in range of each other. The man, known as Odin to his subordinates, went for a grab with his superior reach, but Taiga leaned back to the edge of the arena.
Seeing his chance, Odin went for a shoulder tackle to bash her out of the arena. Taiga stepped forward a bit moved her body to evade the attack by mere centimeters. She grabbed at his mawashi and one of his legs.
As he started to fix his stance, he looked in confusion wondering what she was planning. He didn't fully commit to the tackle so his balance was relatively stable, how was she planning to throw him? He should be about at minimum, 4 times heavier than she was.
To his surprise, she was able to lift his leg. Stepping at the edge of the sunken ring for leverage, a girl who had a massive disadvantage in reach and weight threw him out of the ring.
"OOOOOHHHHH!" The crowd roared as they witnessed the end of the David vs Goliath-esque match.
"You're awesome aneki!"
"Holy shit, how the fuck did she do that?!"
"Wait, what was her name again?"
"Taiga! Taiga! Taiga!" The crowd chanted.
"Tiger!"
A strange pressure blanketed the arena. Picking up her Tora-shinai, Taiga faced the crowd.
"What did you just say?" She asked menacingly.
"Err… Tiger?"
Her shoulders shook as her aura of violence spread.
"Don't…"
"Don't…?"
"WAAAAAA! DON'T CALL ME TIGER!" She shouted as she threw a temper tantrum.
And so, the Fuurinkanzan was demolished by a girl wearing a tracksuit and bloomers.
Such was Taiga's first conquest.
"Dammit…!" The man ran with all his strength. "Shit! Fuck!" They were no match for him, the legendary assassin, Emiya Kiritsugu, weirdly named, Magus Killer.
The man found the moniker to be chuuni to be honest.
At first, he thought the things he did were exaggerated, no way that guy did even half of those missions. Now he knew better, they weren't exaggerated, they were downplayed.
They had guns, Emiya had a pencil, guess who won?
He did not need to know that humans can go that fast or that movie protagonist fights were actually applicable in real life.
Why was he going after them anyway?
His brain processed faster than usual, connecting data points and info he knew about. He came to a single conclusion.
Raiga was initiating his granddaughter to the Yakuza world with the lower levels of gangs while he hired Emiya as a bodyguard and to clean them out.
That was the last thought of a man whose list of crimes included human trafficking, drugs, and arms smuggling before a knife struck him between the eyes.
Kiritsugu rushed past the corpse and astralized the dagger.
There he saw Taiga standing over a man with a bloody head. Taiga just stared at it with a complicated face. He deliberately let his footsteps be heard as he approached her.
"Am I a bad person, Kiritsugu-san?" She asked. "I… saved a life by killing him and the people we rescued said that it was fine and all…"
She paused, thinking of how to explain.
"The blood didn't make me queasy, I didn't feel guilt when I saw the light in his eyes disappear, I… I—"
"Did you enjoy it?" He cut her off.
"No." Taiga returned firmly.
"Are you going to kill someone just because they're a criminal?" He continued.
"No."
"That's fine then, you're already a better person than I am." His hand reached out to her head as he put a smoke in his mouth.
The now familiar scent of smoke and the hand stroking her hair made her relax.
"You're a bad influence, Kiritsugu-san." Breaking off from his hand, she turned around and started walking. Turning around, she flashed a smile. "But, thank you."
The smile she gave him brought back memories of happy times, of despair, and of determination.
"…" Silently, he took out two photos, both with women he used to know. "I'm sorry."
He may have failed them, but—
Placing the photos back in his pocket, he followed her outside.
—Emiya Kiritsugu will do Fujimura Taiga right.
"Are you alright, Kiritsugu-san?" Upon her feet were unconscious criminals, and behind her were caches of weapons, drugs, and kidnapped kids.
It has been months as they repeated this activity. Reform the local troublemakers, kill the undesirables, rescue the people, erase evidence and destroy the weapons and drugs.
Something was still nagging at her.
"Are you still trying to remember?" He repeated.
"Yeah… I still think I forgot something, but I just can't remember it." She groaned. "It's been bothering me ever since the first day I joined you."
After a few moments of grumbling, they started cleaning up.
"N-Nee-san!" Turning around, Taiga saw a bowing boy with brown hair handing out what seems to be a bracelet to her. "E-everyone made it as t-thanks!"
"Really? Thank you then." With a winning smile, she took the bracelet and wore it on her wrist.
Kiritsugu was silently amazed at Taiga's actions, even though she wasn't aware of what she was doing.
Every time they take down an organization, she supplants it with new loyal members that she just acquired a few moments ago. Her luck was just ridiculous.
He was really surprised when some gang named Fuurinkanzan called him boss and took over the place's seedy underbelly. At least they were far better than the last ones. Far, far, better.
Odin, now under boss lady Taiga, smothered the urge to sneeze.
It would be rude to do it in the middle of showing big boss Raiga how much his granddaughter has grown as a warrior after all.
Hmm? Why was the big boss looking so shocked? Oh, it was the part where she threw him, yeah, even now, he still couldn't believe that she was able to do something like that.
"Eh, ummm, can you repeat that again?"
Kiritsugu returned from his musings and saw Taiga asking the kid a question.
"Can you help us get to school? Escorting us one by one to our houses would take too long." A strangely sharp nosed and sharp eared boy asked.
"School… school… school…" Taiga repeated. "Oh no…"
"Err, are you alright nee-san?" The brown haired boy asked in worry.
"OH, NOOOOOOOO!" She shouted in panic. "I haven't talked to my family in MONTHS, I missed the exams, and I haven't even done my homework! K-Kiritsugu-san, we need to go back, grandpa is so going to kill me…!"
Well, they were finished here anyways.
"Let's go then, I do have to thank Raiga for the info."
Oh, she wasn't listening.
Still, after all this time, he would finally be able to meet his family.
