One week has passed since Marinette has been living with the Fentons.
She hasn't done anything to upset them genuinely. Instead, she's been very polite. There has been at least one problem, however. It's not something she does intentionally. Rather it's something she has no control over.
Marinette could be rather clumsy. She hasn't broken anything, but she's tripped on the rug, nearly accidentally set her elbow on fire, and spilled some food on the floor. Regardless, they knew she didn't mean any harm.
All the time, Danny and Marinette would chat with each other, learning about the others' lives.
"So you kept baking a passionfruit macron just for the occasion?" Danny snorted, laughing at the details.
Marinette blushed, wishing she hadn't blurted that out. Luckily she did not say about her crush on Adrien being the reason.
"I'm sorry, but wow...talk about being prepared!"
"It was for a movie event that my parents were catering!" Marinette creind in defense.
"But you still had one ready! Where was it? In your shoe?"
"Says the guy ask for a date back when he was crushing on a certain Paulina Sanchez." Marinette grinned as the ghost boy's turn blushed in embarrassment.
And that was only a few days ago.
Danny would find himself growing more and more interested in Marinette. She disliked the bullies at Casper High. She liked his jokes and thought it was cool he wanted to be an astronaut.
'Wow... please tell me she will be here a while longer than we thought.' Danny thought, hopeful.
The next day, Danny and Marinette were at school talking about the trip that they were going today. They were both rushing to their next class.
Whoa!" Marinette went as she tripped on the last stair.
Reacting fast, Danny turned and caught her.
He caught her like dipping a dancing partner while saving her from a nasty bump on the noggin.
The two teenagers with blue eyes made eye contact for a very long period as their faces started to turn red.
"Uh... hi?" Danny went.
"Hi there." Marinette went with a nervous smile.
The students of Casper high and Marinette made it to the museum. They were at the Egypt exhibit where the new tablet of the superhero Ladybug was. Danny noticed that this wasn't the same Ladybug that he saw on the internet. Marinette was the most surprised that they had a tablet of Ladybug.
Is that... Ladybug? Marinette thought.
It did indeed look like Ladybug or at least a close enough lookalike as it resembled nothing like a skintight suit but a strapless dress of some kind.
"That can't be the French bug girl. She'd have to be like a million years old or something..." Paulina pointed out.
"This is the Egyptian exhibit, not the dinosaurs." Marinette points out.
"Who's talking to you, Frère Jacques?" Paulina snaps angrily.
Marinette was about to call out how rude that sounded before the guys started speaking.
"Wow, she must moisturize a lot for her to look this hot after so long." Kwan went.
"Don't be ridiculous... clearly, this is a new Ladybug. It must be a title passed down by generations or something. This one is too old to be the same one that looks as old as us." Nathan went.
"New or not, she's a babe." Dash went.
Marinette scowled at the way these boys went.
Yeah, that's not creepy or annoying at all... She thought.
As they were about to leave, Danny's ghost sense went off.
"Ah, man!" Danny looked around for the ghost.
The wall nearby broke down, and walking out was Hotep Ra.
"I have risen!" He said as he appeared from a skeleton to a mummy.
The students screamed. All ran away beside Danny, Tucker, and Marinette.
"Hotep Ra?!" Tucker asked.
"I guess the Sphinx lost track of him. Tucker? You best get going." Danny suggests.
He turned his head, only seeing Tucker already on his way out.
"WAY ahead of you!" Tucker called out.
"A ghost?" Marinette asks.
"Now... where's the modern incarnation of Dulla-" Hotep Ra then noticed Marinette.
"Um... bonjour? Hi? Ni hao? I don't speak whatever they spoke in Ancient Egypt." She says sheepishly.
He then sent a glare at her.
"You stopped me for taking over my master 5000 years ago, but now I will have my vengeance, girl!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb! I can sense it!" He shouts.
"I don't even know you!" Marinette yelled at the mummy ghost, only to notice he began his attack using his bandages. "Uh oh..."
Danny was quick enough to save Marinette by jumping in, pushing her along with him as they avoided the attack.
Hey, Bandages! Why are you attacking Marinette? She hasn't done anything to you!" Danny yelled at the mummy ghost.
"This has nothing to do with you, boy!" Hotep Ra says as he created it, a sand tornado that blew Danny and Marinette away from each other. "I will now seek my vengeance on you what you did 5000 years ago!" He says.
But before he could harm Marinette, a green energy blast shot him away from her.
"Huh?!" Marinette went.
"Hey Dusty, it's not nice to lay a hand on a girl without permission first!" Danny Phantom quipped.
"Who said that?" Marinette asked as she looked around.
"You will not interfere with my plans again, boy!" Hotep Ra snaps as he relays himself for battle.
But that's when Marinette saw who came to her defense.
'Danny Phantom?!' Marinette thought as to ghosts beginning to circle each other.
"Hey, you should get out of here, miss, and Danny Fenton is alright," Danny told her.
Marinette nodded and raced off. She was wondering if Danny Phantom could handle this ghost.
"Hey, Bandages! You picked the wrong time to come back! Go swim in the Nile or something!" Danny said before firing a ghost ray.
In response, Hotep-Ra used his bandages from his back to pull himself out of the way, avoiding the attack.
"Don't forget, I have a grudge against you and the Pharaoh! I'll start with you before I find my so-called king!" Hotep-Ra then swung his fist, which detached with two bandages still connecting it to its owner and grew in size by 5, punching Danny into the wall. "I've been training for this day! I'm more powerful than before!"
Hotep-Ra turned into a sandy tornado and started making his way to Danny.
"Yeah? Well, so have I!" Danny said as his eyes glowed blue.
Danny used both hands and fired a blast of cold energy that encased the tornado in ice.
Hotep-Ra reformed to physical form before trying to force himself free. After moments, he broke out.
The bandages on his back started coming for Danny, forcing him to fly away from the wall.
Danny flew at Hotep-Ra, swinging his fist. Hotep-Ra ducked back to avoid the blow; however, he didn't see what Danny did next. Danny spun in place, swinging his leg and hitting the mummy ghost in the stomach. The impact smashed Hotep-Ra through the ice, hitting the wall.
As Hotep-Ra pushed himself up, Danny landed not far.
"Can we hurry this up? I have a very pretty French girl to entertain and hopefully go on a date with before she has to go home!" Danny states.
"Fool... if you mean the girl I tried to destroy, you have no idea what you've gotten yourself into. Although, since I can destroy three of my enemies in one go, I can't complain too much!" Hotep-Ra says before turning into a swarm of locusts.
The insects spun around Danny, waiting to attack him.
"Right... Tucker told me about this... maybe I can freeze them."
He fired beams out of his eyes, freezing a few insects at a time.
The swarm formed above him, reforming into Hotep-Ra, who tried to land on Danny, but Danny phased into the floor before he could do that.
As Hotep-Ra looked down, he saw his hands were missing. He knew the reason as he smashed the frozen bugs free from the ice, allowing them to reunite and form his hands.
"The ghost boy and the insect girl seeking each other romantically? Not while I have a chance to end at least one of them now! Although... it seems he doesn't know who that is..."
His thoughts were cut off as he felt a blast to his back, knocking him to the floor and sliding on it for a few seconds.
"If you're done talking to yourself, how about you leave?!" Danny demanded as his hands were emitting green smoke from his attack.
It seem that the battle between Danny and the ghost mummy is just begininng I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
