Chapter 1: Introduction
It's a peaceful day in the Boiling Isles, Luz is getting ready to do some of Eda's chores for today. King was getting ready to make a new speech to his "minions" and Hooty was doing Hooty things. Eda was just waiting at the door with Owlbert waiting for Luz to hurry up and pack the last of the items to sell, "Luz hurry up or we're going to lose our spot!" Luz looked at Eda with a confused look since she thought that Eda just took random spots "I thought you just took whatever spot there was" stuffing the last bit of stuff in a bag Luz went over to Eda. "I do, but it's all about where most of the people are, can't just set up anywhere and expect people to just be there. Now come, we're burning daylight and that means snails are being wasted on something that's not from us". As Eda was getting ready to leave a bright flash enveloped everyone in the house, leaving no one inside. "EXCEPT ME!" screamed Hooty.
While in the Blight Manner, Amity was thinking on who she should write the letter for Grom. Many people came to mind but only one name really stuck out, Luz. She blushed red and tried to shake it off, but no matter how hard she tried that was the only name that kept coming back. "Come on now, maybe if I just write her name then I can erase it later and actually choose someone." Picking up a pencil and a sheet of paper she wrote Luz and the letter couldn't have looked any better. Quickly putting the pencil away Amity didn't want to erase Luz's name, "Maybe giving her the letter isn't a bad idea." She folded the letter and put it near her desk, so she won't forget it for the next day. She took a deep breath and went to open her door but found darkness on the other side. "That's not right", but before she could close the door a force pushed her in and closed shut. Stumbling in she could now see the room she was in; it was a theater room. Before she could question any further on where she was, she heard a familiar voice "Amity!". Turning around she found Eda and King next to each other while Luz was coming towards her direction "Luz?".
Willow and Gus were walking towards the Owl House to ask Luz if she wanted to hang out with them, they were hoping that she wasn't busy with anything or if she was maybe they could convince Eda to come with them. As they were coming closer, they could see Hooty guarding the door like always. "Hi Hooty" both greeted "Is Luz home by any chance, we wanted to know if she could hang out with us?" Willow asked and was expecting Hooty to say that they were busy somewhere else. "Hmm, oh I don't know? I just saw a bright flash that went BOOM. Then everyone disappeared" twisting his body as he spoke. "Wait, a bright light just took them away?!" Gus looked at Willow who was just as confused. "Yep! The same one that took you two as well." Willow and Gus looked at each other than at Hooty "What?" At that moment a bright flash took them both, leaving only Hooty again. "Yep, now I'm the main character!" Looking straight at the…. Wait.
In the Human Realm Camila was preparing to go work, but she wanted to text her daughter to see how she was doing. She worried that Luz was a bit scared at the moment since this was a new environment for her. But maybe she already adjusted and maybe wanted to be left alone for a while. But, thinking about it, Luz probably started havoc on the camp already, "Oh mija, I hope they don't call me to come pick you up". Chuckling to herself she sent a quick text to her and hoped that she would respond soon. Picking up her bag she started to leave the house and went to her car. Unlocking the car and opening the doors, she went to sit down when she just fell and landed on some carpet floor. She looked around and saw some strange looking people, but one looked very familiar. Looking closely, she gasped and darted to her daughter, "Luz!" Luz looked over Amity's shoulder and found her mom running towards her. "Mom!" going towards her mom they both hugged each other. "Luz! Are you okay? Are you hurt or maybe you need help?" Luz was being bombarded with questions "Estoy bien mami, I just kinda need you to promise me something?" Luz looked at her mother. "Of course, Mija, just tell me and I will promise".
Camila heard what her daughter had to say, but the more she heard the more her attitude started to shift. "Yeah, so I just want you to promise me that I can at least visit the Boiling Isles, please?" giving her best puppy eyes to her mom. "You know I wouldn't be mad if this was just an accident, but you deliberately went after that owl and got yourself put in a very dangerous place! But not only did you go to some dangerous place on your own, but you also didn't even think about contacting me! YOUR OWN MOTHER!" Luz didn't know what to say, she wanted to call her mom but just didn't want her to worry. But, keeping this a secret and telling her only now really put a dent in their trust with one another. "I just didn't want to worry you, but look I was being taken care of, I was never in any real danger I was–". Before Luz could even finish her sentence Camila cut her off "No! Luz not only did you run away and kept this hidden from me, but you also lied to me and instead put someone else on your spot and let them take over your life." Luz was only listening to what her mother had to say but when she said that someone else took her spot, she just looked at her mom confusedly. "I never put someone else to take my spot-on Earth, I came to the Boiling Isle as soon as you made me throw away my Azura book" Camila wanted to retort back but seeing her daughter with more of a confused gaze, she had to believe what her daughter was saying. "Then who put someone that looks just like you" she immediately looked at Eda who was talking to King while three other kids were discussing with themselves. "Did you put a person to try and replace Luz" this caught Eda's attention as Camila said those words with poison in them.
Eda looked at Luz before answering to Camila "No, I wasn't the one to put a replica of Luz" Camila waved Luz back and went towards the wild witch. Amity, Willow and Gus moved out of her way and went towards Luz to go talk to her, "Hey Luz, how are you doing?" Willow trying to lighten the mood since she saw that Luz was not in her usual self "I'm doing as fine as ever" Amity could only look at her with sadness and wanted her to cheer up. "Hey, it looks bad, but your mom still hasn't said anything about visiting" Luz could only look at Gus with a slight smile but quickly faded to a frown "Yeah, but I'm almost certain that she will ban me from coming to visit you guys". Amity looked at Willow and Gus who were starting to get affected by this, so the only thing to say was to tell her how she felt "Luz, I won't lie and say that this looks good, but I know that your mom will do the right thing and let you see us. Anyone can tell that you're happy with us and that happiness should be something that a real mom will want to protect. So, don't worry about what your mom will decide, instead focus on the things that make you happy." Luz looked at Amity and moved towards her for a hug, Amity didn't even wait for Luz to offer it she just grabbed Luz and hugged her tight.
King was wandering around the seats trying to find the softest seat to try and sleep, that was until static played around the room and the screen finally flickered on. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked towards the screen, the static sound stopped, and text can be seen now. "Please take a seat", they looked at the screen and then to one another, soon each one took a seat with one another. Luz and her mom sat together while Eda and King sat right next to Luz. Amity, Gus and Willow took seats right above Luz, Camila looked at Luz and then at Eda, and finally spoke to Luz. "Luz, I'm sorry the way I screamed at you, I should've taken a calmer approach but instead I let my anger get the best of me. Mija, all I want from us is to be trusting of each other, so to build that trust up again I promise that you can visit your friends." Luz was speechless, she looked at Eda, but she only winked at her, Luz could feel the tears coming out of eyes. She hugged her mom knowing that she didn't lose anyone, "Gracias Mami, I can't wait to show you all the cool stuff I learned" Amity looked down to Luz and then to her mom, and a smile grew on her face.
"Well, I don't think we came here just to talk about your problems, so I hope whatever is up there will hurry up. I'm losing snails every second we are here! Plus, I'm running out of storage to put that junk in." Not a second later the screen flickered once more, and a voice spoke "Thank for sitting down. Now don't worry about the time you are here; time has stopped in this theater, so you won't have to worry about any problems where you were originally." The theater started to dim, "You are here because you were selected to watch other realities" no one could believe what was just read, "Wait other realities? Like the human realm where Luz and her mom are from?" stated Gus. "Yes, but also no, you will see realities that can resemble the human world, but they can also be different where it can be like the Boiling Isle. For example, the one you will watch will be like the human realm, but the only resemblance will be the people and everything else is vastly different." A planet flickered on that resembled Earth, but it was somehow different, some land areas didn't line up with what Luz and Camila remember. "To make things easier I will show code names to these realities, so you won't get confused. This one will be named Dragon Ball."
