7. Boots on the ground

Hello and welcome back to the next chapter of Tales of Tamers Xilla! Today we'll be starting a filler arc that will help set a few things up for the story. After that we finish off volume two of Rwby, so let get to it. Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, The Tales series, Bleach, Sword art online, Fairy Tail, Rouruni Kenshin, Darling in the Franxx, or Rwby. They all belong to their respected creators. I do own all OCs in this story. Now on with the show!

Last tiime on Tales of Tamers Xilla: The gang were enjoying Breakfast before their initiation, when they met the new Tamers Kenji, Jerico and Sven. They seen to hit it off pretty well as they head to the emerald forest. From there they got quite the kick off, when Ozpin threw them off the chiff into the forest below. From there one by one the Tamers met up and form pairs as they head to the temple. Once each pair got their relics they were attack by 3 powerful types of Grimm. They split up into teams of four and defeated the monsters. Afterwards the 12 of them were sorted into 3 teams, Tker, Hasz and Jakr. Now they are ready to venture into this new world.

Chapter 7

Normal POV: Location unknown: In a darken wasteland that are overrun by the creatures of Grimm, a dark castle can be seen on the cliffside. Inside were several people sitting at a table. The first was a thin man with short black hair that was turning grey with a mustache. He wore a brown suit. He is Arthur Watts, a former scientist from Atlas. The 2nd is a large man with black hair. He wore a black shirt and pants with a belt fill with ponches. He is Hansel Rainhart. The 3rd is a man with long black hair tie into a long braid. His yellow eyes have a man look to them showing him to be unstable. He wore a white shirt and black pants. He is Tyrian Callows and wanted serial killer. And lastly sitting at the head of the table is a woman. Her shin was an ash white with large black veins running up her arms and cheeks. She has a black gem on her forehead. Her white hair was tie into a bun. Her eyes open to show that the white of them were black.

The pupils were a blood red. Lastly, she wore a black dress. She is Salem the queen of Grimm. She turn to Watts. "So how did the test in the new kingdom went?" She ask. "Quite well my lady. The data I gotten was quite useful, I should be able to form a counter measure for them in the future. Now the prototype control unit for the Digimon can only control Digimon up to the champion level. The new model I'm working on will let us control even mega level Digimon." He said. "This wouldn't be possible with out our new allied." Hansel said. "Correct." A voice said as a black ball with a purple skull enter the room. "Thanks to you, we can move forward with our plans." Salem said. "Yes, although with the Tamers appearing may throw a wrench into our plans." The figure said. "Are you really about them? There just children." Watts said. "Oh let me go my goddess, I 'll take care of them." Tyrian said as he crackles. Salem ignore him and turn to the figure. "Are they going to be a threat?" She ask.

"Yes, that fool Lucemon underestimate them, and he pay the price for it. He only brought his fellow demon lords and a handful of soldiers. I brought an army and some who need some convincing." He said with a chuckle. "We'll have no fear my friend, I'm sure Cinder can complete the plan with them in the works. We also have few other pieces on the board as well." Salem said as she look to Watts. "Have your collide reported in yet. " He has, he continuing with his experiments on the Grimm. I still believe they are a threat to our plans. Lucky our ally servants is watching him. Now there the mater of him losing our test subjects." Watts said. "I'll inform them to keep an eye out for them." The figure said. "Good now let see what Cinder has for us." Salem said. Takato POV: Beacon: It been a week since our initiation into Beacon. Hard to believe I'm back in school. Unlike the students of Beacon we don't have to wear uniforms, those always suck.

Anyway, we just came from a combat class. We just watch Zoey finish beating the shit out of Beacon team of bullies Team Cdrl. She saw Cardin picking on a Rabbit Fanus girl. Zoey told the jerk off as his buddies back him up. Goodwitch told them to settle it in class. It wasn't much of a fight but more like a one-sided beatdown. I did no knew a arm can bend like that. "Serve those bastards right." Zoey said. "Don't you think that was kind of harsh, I mean their bullies but dude." Kenji said. "Trust us they have it coming." Weiss said. "Yeah, they bully Jaune when we first started here." Ruby said. Nora jump up between us. "You should have broke their legs." She said with a grin. Zoey grin back. "Oh you I like." She said. Hiro clears his throat. "Maybe we should change the subject, how did you guys like the class on Spyros?" He ask. "I though it was interesting, all the different customs and cultures." Weiss said. "I though Proff. Mathis work on the Spyrite was pretty cool." Jaune said.

"They are, the way to saves Spyros's spirits." I said. " Hey Rika, didn't Jude gave you a Spyrite?" Elize ask. "He did, But I haven't got the chance to talk to her yet." Rika said. That when the intercom came on. "Attention, will Teams Rwby, Jnpr, Tker, Hasz and Jakr report to the headmaster office." It said. "Wonder why they are calling for us?" Pyrrha ask. "No idea, let go find out." I said. About 20 minutes later we went up the elevator to Ozpin office. Man like being in a giant clock. There we see Ozpin and Goodwitch along with two others. First is a large man with short white hair and mustache. He was wearing a red suit. He is Prof. Port. The other was a man with wild green hair and glasses. He wore a whit e shirt and green pants. He is Prof Olbeck. "Ah students glad you could come." Ozpin said. "You wanted to see us sir?" Blake ask. "Yes, it appear a few of our security devices has stop working." He said. "Security devices?" Koga ask.

"Yes, there are several security devices that are station around Vale perimeter. They warn us when the creatures of Grimm get too close. But some of them have stop working." Olbeck said very fast. 'So why call us?" Rika ask. "Because Miss Stellar, there been reports of Stranges creatures in the area." Goodwitch said. 'You think they could be Digimon?" Ryo ask. "That correct, we like for you to investigate this matter. So far we discover 2 of the devices are down. Prof. Port will take Teams Tker and Rwby into the Emerald forest. Mean while Prof Olbeck will take Teams Jnper and Hasz to the canyon to the west." Ozpin said. "What about Team Jakr?" Alice ask. "You are on stand by in case another device goes dark." He said. "Ok everyone we got a mission." I said. 2 hour later we got on an airship with Prof Port. Which was hell, Team Rwby could have told us his stores would never end. Thankfully we reach the forest. "Ok students, the control device is located in a cave a little ways north off us." Port said.

"So prof, how often does these things goes down?" Kenji ask. "Not very, they were made by Atlas." Port said. "Atlas technology is very well made." Weiss said. "You smell anything Guilmon?" I ask as he sniff around. "I smell Grimm Takatomon." He said. "Me too, there not far but." Hackmon said. "But what spill it gecko." Teepo said. "There is a Digimon near by as well." Renamon said. "Really how far?" Ruby ask. "This way." Guilmon said as we follow him. We came to a clearing, there we saw several Ursa surrounding it. It was a small green Digimon. It has purple claws, Black eyes and a pink flower on it head. Rika check her D-arc. "[Palmon rookie level plant Digimon. She is gentle by natures, but when the forest is in trouble she'll bind you in her poison ivy attack.]" She said. "She is trouble!" Ruby shout. "Let go." I said as we rush in. "Shakaho!" I shout as I shot a red energy ball into one. "Rock breaker!" Guilmon shout as he slam his claw into one.

"Thunder pierce!" Rika shout as she sent a thunder bolt at one. "Power paw!" Renamon shout as she punch one away. "Teepo roar!" Elize shout as she sent Teepo into one. Kenji spun his sword chamber and shot an ice dust round to freeze one. 'Teen ram!" Hackmon shout as he tackle the frozen Grimm to shatter it. Ruby rush at an ursa that was about to hit the Palmon and cut it in half. Weiss thrust her sword forward and shot a flame blast at one. Blake ran at one and jump onto it back and stab her sword through it head. One of the Ursa slam Yang back. "That all you go-" She stop as she saw some of her hair came off. I felt her mana raise. She slams her fist together as her eyes turn red. "Your dead!" She shout as she slams an exploitive fist into the Grimm and sent it into a tree and broke it. Port simply shot the last one with his musket. "Well done students." He said. Ruby went to Palmon side and kneel to her. The Digimon cover her face in fear. 'G-go away stay back." She said. "Wait it ok, We won't hurt you." Ruby said. Palmon look up to her. "You mean it?" She ask.

"I do." Ruby said with a smile as she help Palmon up. 'Palmon if you don't mind if I ask, how did you get here?" I ask. "It was about 6-7 months ago, it happen so fast. My friends and I wee ere taken by a group of Digimon and brought to this world. From there this human look us in a cage. It was horrible! But 3 months ago we were able to escape, we thought it was best to split up to avoid the ones chasing us." She said. "You been on the run for that long?" Rika ask. The plant nod. "You said others right?" Blake ask. "Yes, my friends are a Ludomon, Biyomon, Fanbeemon, Bearmon, little Herissmon, Falcomon, Lunamon and Vorvomon." Palmon said. "So aside from her, there are 8 more Digimon wandering around." Kenji said. "Well Mr. Outway, your the expert on the Digimon. What should we do about this matter?" Port ask. I look over to Palmon. "It best that she come with us back to Beacon. From there we can try to find her friends. For now, we need to focus on the mission." I said.

"He right, we should be near the control center." Weiss said as we continue to move. Ruby was carrying Palmon on her back. "Thank you for helping me Ruby." Palmon said. "Of course you and I are friends now." Ruby said. "You really be my friend?" Palmon ask. "Yeah, stay with me and no one will hurt you again." Ruby said. "Look like those two are getting along." Kenji said. " Yeah in the short time I know Ruby, she have a knack for making friends." I said as I look at him. "So Kenji how did you became a Tamer?" I ask. "It was a year ago, I was exploring the wilds of Mistral. I came to a town where I heard about a rumor about a strange creature in the area. I got interested and decide to check it out." He said. "That when we met, Kenji told me wish to protect others. I wanted to do that as well and we became friends." Hackmon said.

"Then a woodmon show up and attack the town. Hackmon try to fight it off but was no match for it. So I jump in and told him were a team, that when my D-arc appears." He said as he show a sliver D-arc. 'He digivolve and we won. After ward we travel for a bit , met Sven and Jerico and the rest is history." He said. "Head up look like were here." Yang said as we came to a cave. We head inside, once we reach the center of the cave we saw a large machine. "Is this the control center?" Elize ask. "Indeed Ms. Lutus, now let see what the problem." Port said as he look it over. I walk around it to see a small red box on it was a white m in a hexagon. " Uh Prof. is this part of it?" I sk as he came over. "No this is sabotage." He said in a serious tone. "Sabotage but why?" Blake ask. "Who want to bet this logo is a clue." Teepo said. "Could be." Renamon said. "This symbol, I know I seen it before." Weiss said. "We can figure it out later, let disable it." Rika said. "Agreed Ms. Stellar, students watch my back while I get to work." Port said.

We soon heard growling as we saw a group of Beo wolves coming in. "Let show

Baohackmon look like a grown up verson of Hackmon. His cape was larger while his back legs were now blades. I check my D-arc. "[Baohackmon champion level dragon Digimon. Now that he evolves, he with take down evil with his Fif cross and burn flame attacks!" I said. "Pyro blaster!" Growlmon shout as he blast at a group of them. "Fox tail inferno!" Kyubimon shout as she sent her fire balls at them. 'Burn flame!" Baohackmon shout as he shot a flame breath at a few. "Tail whip!" I shout as i spun to slice some Grimm. "Sonic slash!" Rika shout as she cut one in half. "Deadly gaze!" Elize shout as shot at several of them. Kenji swung his sword at 3 of them to sent them flying. Ruby speed past them while cutting them down. Weiss made a path od ice that cause the Grimm to trip and slide to Blake who quickly took them out. Yang grab one by the face and slam it into the ground. "How are we doing port?" I ask. "All done, the control center is online.." He said. "Guess were done her." I said.

Suddenly a barrage of black blasts hit the Digimon causing them to change back to normal. We look to see a large green ogre with long white hair and a bone club. Rika check her D-arc. "[Ogremon champion level demon man Digimon. This brute is always picking a fight with his bone club and pummel wrack attacks.]" She said. "So, some rats decided to get in the way." Ogremon said. 'So your the one who sabotage the control center." I said. "What that hunk of junk, no that was the bosses order. I was to watch it until we were done here." He said. "Done with what?" Yang ask. "Sorry blondie none of your business." He said as he then saw Palmon. "Wait a sec I know you, your one of the runaways. If I bring you back the boss will reward me." Ogremon laugh as a shot went by his head. We look to see Ruby was aiming at him with a serious look on her face. "You won't take her." She said. "Try it brat Pummel wrack!" He shout as he thrust his fist and fire a black blast that knock us off our feet.

The ogre walk to Palmo as she tries to back away. "Now hold still." He said as he try to reach for her. But then Ruby swung at him as he block it. "Stay wawy from her!" She shout as the two fought. "Get out of my way Bone club!" He shout as he smack her in the gut and threw her away. "Why protect this weaking?" He ask as he stand over Ruby with the intent to finish her. "Because Palmon is my friend, I will protect her with my life!" Ruby shout. "Poison ivy!" Palmon shout as her claws turn into vines and grab Ogremon. "I will protect Ruby for she is my friend too!" Palmon shout as a ball of light appear infront of Ruby. Ruby grab it as it turn into a red D-arc with a green ring. "Ruby became a Tamer." Rika said. "Ruby catch!" Kenji shout as he threw her a modify card. "Alright let go Palmon." She said. "Yeah." She said. "Digi-modify Digivolvtion activate!" Ruby shout as sshe swipe the card through her D-arc as Palmon glows.

Palmon digivolve to Togemon

Togemon was a giant humanoid cactus with black holes for her eyes and mouth and a pair of red boxing gloves. Kenji check his D-arc. "[Togemon champion level plant Digimon. This house plant pack a punch when she knock you out with her Mach speed jabbing and needle stray attacks.]" He said. "That won't stop mee." Ogremon said as he swung at her. Togemon caught the club and them broke it in half. "This is for trying to hurt Ruby Needle stray!" She shout as shot out her needles as they tore through Ogremon. He cries out as he dissolve into data. Togemon turn back to normal. Ruby pick Palmon up into a hug. 'You did great." She said. "Thanks you Ruby." She said. "Nice as this is, we still don't know who Ogremon was working for and why." Weiss said. "That right, for now we should head back to Beacon and tell Ozpin what happen." I said. 'Yes let us be off." Port said as we head back to the ship. I didn't expect Ruby to become a Tamer. I look at Her and Palmon. But I say it a good thing.
