Witness?
"Idiot, don't do it!" Kagura yelled, only to be ignored as a blinding flash filled the area. Naruto protected others with his clones by making a string shield as he knew his blood most shield wouldn't hold the power that was released.
He came face to face with the real beauty of the sword with its unwrapped form. It takes the form of a traditional longsword. Its hilt is wrapped in a dark wrapping, outlining a series of rhombs on it, ending in a light pommel and has a similarly light, mildly prominent fuchi, in his terms, which is a metal disk separating the hilt from the handguard.
The handguard itself takes the form of a tsuba, a flat plate perpendicular to the hilt, which has its two faces covered in intricate decorations, and possesses a mildly rounded, elongated shape with four points curving inwards, generating soft nooks, which make the tsuba itself vaguely reminiscent of a stylized four-leaf clover.
The weapon comes with a matching lacquered scabbard, which is dark in colour, ending in a light shape, and has a decorative rope tied around its middle part in a ribbon, with two edges left hanging.
It had a small word for 'seal' on it, which was now in pieces Marsh tore it to take the sword out. The sword itself has a metallic edge and is nothing different from normal swords.
But the power it held was unmistakable. Naruto didn't underestimate Marsh, but with the addition of the sword, he became more dangerous.
"Hahaha, yes. This power will glory back to my guild and then I'll be the strongest mage soon. Now take care of you pests," said Marsh, turning to a still-standing Naruto and Kagura.
"How about you surrender that girl and run with your tail between your legs?" Marsh mocked and Naruto stared at him blankly.
"Same goes for you. Surrender that sword and leave this place immediately. Or you will face my wrath," he said with a blank face and Marsh laughed at him.
"Do you think I'll be afraid of your wrath? Please don't flatter yourself. With this sword, I'll kick your ass and take that bitch. How dare she defy me!" Marsh said with a degrading smile.
Kagura subconsciously moved closer to Naruto, standing behind him. Naruto smiled at her and took her to a safe place on a mountain top.
He brought others there as well. They were too caught up in their battles to notice the power release and he had to shield them.
After that, each clone brought them here. Natsu and Happy were unconscious because of the hit they took even after his shield as they were close to Marsh.
Gray and Sirius were comparatively good, but looks like they were worn out because of the battles they fought and Naruto can understand that.
Fighting multiple people at once is not easy and coordinating at the same time is a pain in the ass. They heard trees being destroyed and manic laughter.
"Well, looks like I have to take care of yet another maniac. See ya," said Naruto and vanished from them and appeared in front of a happy Marsh who was swinging the sword aimlessly.
"I thought you took my suggestion to heart, mage. Now that I have the Archenemy, I can take over. Let's test this against you," he said and swung the sword again.
A wide arc of white waves started to approach Naruto and smirked at this. He simply vanished and when Marsh looked around, the swing he made was approaching him.
"Wha-?" He thought in confusion but used Archenemy, the swing to defend himself with another swing and they nullified each other. This made him even more confident.
"Heh, I don't know what you did, mage. But you can't use my attack against me!" He exclaimed in joy and started to swing more, but Naruto observed how they are precise and targeting him instead of the previous blind swinging.
'Hmm, he is taking me seriously it seems,' he thought and used Benihime to defend and attack at the same time. Naruto had enough of this and brought the big guns.
"Light Style: Laser Circus," he said and sent beams of lasers made of light towards Marsh. He wildly swung the sword around and it somehow managed to counter his attack.
"You are pushing your luck. I'm not giving you another chance, surrender now," offered Naruto.
"I had enough of your useless ramblings. I'll end you with this!" He yelled and swung the sword strongly at Naruto. Naruto can see the large build-up of magic.
"Destruction Wave," said Marsh, finally releasing the attack. Whether it was the attack name or something then idiot came up with, Naruto didn't know.
"Sing, Benihime," said Naruto and tried to slash the attack, but the power it held was not enough to slash the attack and comfortably came towards Naruto.
"Kamui," he said and the slash phased through him and hit the rock behind him and cut it into million pieces.
"Heh. See, you can't escape my attack," boasted Marsh and Naruto took it personally to prove him wrong. He chose to take it close and personal and appeared beside Marsh.
"We will see that," he said and swung Benihime at Marsh. The power and force behind the attack were strong that Marsh was sent a few feet back by its force.
"So what do you say we do this the hard way? Sword for a sword?" Naruto mocked and Marsh got outraged by this.
"How dare you! You are dead!" He yelled and large slash in an attempt to kill everything in the vicinity.
"Cataclysm!" He yelled and the largest swing was made, releasing enough magic to erase a small town or an island from the face of the world.
"Sever, Benihime," called Naruto, launching a small red arc towards the incoming cataclysm released by Marsh.
Sever is one of the most powerful abilities of Benihime which releases a very thin arc of magic that is potent and can cut almost anything.
The attacks met in the middle, creating shockwaves and earthquakes because of the power in them. Naruto decided to end this and appeared beside Marsh.
"Waiting for me?" He asked and planted a magic sealing tag on the senseless man and the effect was instant.
All his magic was locked up, Naruto can feel it. But the attack made by his sword didn't go as he thought. It was still standing up to his sever. He was confused by this, but after a second, the sword and attack vanished.
A few minutes ago
With Kagura and Others
"Man he was going strong at it," said Gray watching the fight with Sirius and Kagura while Natsu and Happy were still unconscious.
"Who do you think will win?" Sirius asked the woman curiously. They didn't get introduced. He posed the question generally.
"Looks that blonde is strong enough to toe to toe with my sword," said Kagura observing how Naruto is not covering and fighting Marsh with his sword.
"He is an S-class mage after all. You should have known better to underestimate him," boasted Gray and Kagura's demeanour changed.
"Um, does that mean he is strong?" She asked meekly. The sudden change confused Gray and Sirius. But they answered nonetheless.
"Yes. Super strong. What is that sword? It almost hit us with one if it swings," asked Gray curiously. The girl in front of them looks like his age and seems to be some kind of traveller.
"Well, it's difficult to explain. After he comes, I will explain everything at once," she replied, continuing to watch the spar. She liked how he fought against Archenemy, the Blade of Resentment.
After all, it was said to have the power to destroy nations if unsheathed. She saw Naruto applying something on Marsh as he fell to the ground, he looked at the still-standing slash.
Naruto was confused and Kagura closed her eyes and extended her hands. Archenemy disappeared from the battlefield and appeared in front of her.
It was fully wrapped in its sheath and didn't even have scratch marks of a recent battle on it. Sirius took interest in this and observed the blade with his Dōjutsu.
'Interesting colour it has. It has this shining bright white colour and boy it was menacing,' he thought as he saw the sword with his purple eyes.
Gray looked at the sword in awe and decided not to mess with her and risk being facing the sword. Natsu and Happy we're still unconscious.
The place started to tumble as if it stood all this time because of the sword and now since it was finally missing from its resting place, it started to rumble.
"Ok, this is bad. Everyone, take my hand," Naruto said, extending his hand towards others as he appeared in front of them. As soon as he caught them and marked Natsu and Happy, they vanished in a flash.
They appeared on the shore of North Island and felt the Cave's destruction. Naruto erected a silent barrier to protect the island as everyone on it felt the large collapse of the cave.
'Water Style: Shielding Dragon,' thought Naruto and erected another water barrier around the island.
"Rrrrrrrrruuuuuuuummmmmbbbbbbllllllllleeeeeeeeee"
Everyone heard the thundering crash of waves hitting the two barriers and children started to cry. Soon, everyone stopped as the cave's disturbance settled.
Everything returned to normal after a few minutes and Naruto and his hand visibly relaxed. "Phew, it's over," breathed Gray.
"No kidding. That thing is very strong," added Sirius as he landed on the ground. He is using his wings to stay floating to escape if the strong ways break the island. But it didn't come to that as his father protected the island.
"Are you all okay?" Naruto asked looking around and after seeing everyone in good shape, he turned to the approaching village Elder.
"We have successfully neutralised the threat and the cave will not cause any more," Naruto said with a confident smile.
The elderly woman closed her eyes as if to sense something and after a few seconds, she turned to Kagura in shock.
"Is that- is that what I think it is?" She asked in surprise, her hands covering her mouth.
"Do you know of this, ma'am?" Kagura asked surprised and the elder nodded. "Yes. I can remember it from the paintings," she replied.
"There are paintings about the sword?" Naruto asked surprised.
From what he learned about this world, the knowledge about so many things lost 400 years ago and the few things that survived it are well preserved and tend to be abnormal much like his Slayer Magic.
"There used to be, son. But in one of the cyclones, it was wiped out. The last reminisce of it was just destroyed." She said, staring at the place where the cave used to be.
"Oh, we are sorry for your loss," Naruto said, understanding the historical importance of the cave he had partly destroyed.
"No need to worry, child. We are accustomed to it by now. Mora, give them their reward. They had a long journey home," she called and a man stepped forward with a large bag of cash.
"Please jeep to repair the island, ma'am. We didn't do much. She is the one who the sword chose. Please give it to her." Naruto denied their reward. Neither Sirius nor Gray spoke.
"What are you talking about? If you didn't save me, I couldn't have survived that attack," Kagura rebuked, pushing the reward towards Naruto.
"Ok. I'll divide it equally. Some fight here," said Mora and divided it and gave everyone equal amounts. Everyone got 200,000 Jewels.
"Please keep my part for repairs, " said Naruto and left his reward near the Elder who nodded acceptance.
"Before you go, I ask you to take good care of Archenemy, girl. It is not like a normal sword and just by chosen by it, you became special," said the Elder and Kagura nodded.
"Ok, we'l-"
Groan
Everyone turned to see a groaning Natsu who started to move and woke up after getting knocked out. He looked around with drowsy eyes and was confused by the change in scenery.
"Huh? Where am I?"
"Thank God you woke up, Natsu. I was worried," said Naruto and Natsu looked to the blonde.
"Fishies! Yum, yum fishies," said a dreamy Happy as he tried to catch a fish in his dream. Natsu's stomach growled hearing that and he looked around in embarrassment.
"Uh, can eat something?" He asked cluelessly and the village elder nodded.
"In my hurry, I forgot about our guest honours. Please, this way," she said as showing them a small but which was made of tree leaves.
"We can eat in a nearby town, ma'am. My friend eats a lot," Naruto tried to reject her offer as they can eat a lot. But the Elder had none of it.
"I fed people who can empty a restaurant, boy. Now move!" She ordered and Naruto didn't have much choice. They moved to eat, including Kagura.
Meanwhile, In Magic Council HQ
The Magic Council was summoned in person after a long investigation by the Magic Council and as the members settle, the head of the investigation team stepped forward.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity the Magic Council gave us to research about the whole Low Magic Concentration incident that happened in the Pergrande Empire.
Allow me to call the assistance the Magic Council has sent me," said the Captain with a bow. Seam nodded and the doors of the Chamber opened to reveal 4 people.
"It's good to be back here,"
"It's been long,"
"I grace you with my presence,"
"Heh, I'm called again?" Four male voices came, as four men walked into the Council Chambers, making all the members look up in pride.
These 4 are part of the most powerful mages in Ishgar, going by the title of Four Gods of Ishgar. They are seen as Gods, a testament to their power.
This is the most powerful group the Magic Council has under them as these 4 are the top 4 of the 10 Wizard Saints, a group of 10 most powerful mages in Ishgar.
The first person who spoke was an older gentleman with clean-cut, dark purple hair, red eyes, a well-groomed moustache, pointy ears, and a tattoo on his forehead that is reminiscent of a cross.
He wore a button-up dress shirt, a lightly decorated vest, dark-coloured slacks, and a black bow tie. He covered his ensemble with a black cape that sports light-coloured crosses towards the midline. He also wears a large ring on his middle finger.
This is Draculos Hyberion, raking 2.
Next to him was an elderly man, affected by his advancing age, with the most significant change being that he now has plant-like physical features: his head resembles a slightly gnarled tree trunk, whilst his hair resembles a leafy treetop.
His attire consists of a high-collared coat tied with a belt, loose trousers, a coat, and a pair of boots. This is Warrod Sequen, 4th ranked.
Next to him is a man with medium-length, wavy and spiked orange hair that juts out at the top in a shape similar to rabbit ears; he has thick eyebrows and bears a scar over the bridge of his nose.
He is dressed in a fanciful white robe with blue long sleeves, a blue belt and blue pants. His chest and neck area are covered by a small red cloak with white-coloured edges, a large collar and three yellow-coloured crescent shapes lined up vertically on both sides over his chest. He also wears a simple pair of boots that reach below his knees.
His most noticeable attribute is a large wheel of blades on his back resembling a dharma wheel, giving him the superficial resemblance of a divine figure. This is God Serena, top-ranked.
Next to him is a very short, older man who sports a dark green long beard. He wears a dark-coloured shirt, a light-coloured vest with large buttons and stripes towards the bottom of it, dark slacks decorated with diamond shapes, a large blue hat with a brown rim, glasses, and an earring. This is Wolfheim, 3rd ranked.
"The four Gods of Ishgar, the Magic Council welcomes you," said Seam and all the other council members nodded.
"Yes, we appreciate that. Warrod, please start," said Hyberion while the God Serena and Wolfheim started to bicker about some unnecessary thing.
"This is about Low Magic Concentration, isn't it?" The ex-Fairy Tail mage asked and Hyberion nodded.
"How to start?" He thought aloud, scratching his bark like face and the Council members were confused.
"What do you mean by where to start, Honourable guardian, are there many things to discuss?" Org asked.
After seeing the Low Magic Concentration warning, the Magic Council sent their most powerful weapons to investigate things, the 4 Gods of Ishgar.
As they don't know what caused this unknown phenomenon. Warrod was most suited for this job as he found something which was not known before.
"Yes, Councilman Yajima. There are a few things that came to my notice. To speak them accordingly, the first is the magic used.
The second is the cause for the phenomenon and the last is the amount of magic that…vanished from the area without a trace. I'll explain accordingly." He said and everyone nodded.
God Serena and Wolfheim calmed down, seeing one of them has started explaining what happened in the area they researched.
"The magic used. To be honest, I'm most surprised to share this with you, but the cause of everything that happened there is 2 magics. 1 is some kind of destruction magic. The other is Wood Magic," said Warrod and the jaws of everyone in the room hit the floor. They knew the implications of this.
Warrod was the most powerful wood/green magic user in Ishgar. If he is saying that the cause of the destruction was another wood magic user, this is concerning.
This means there someone stronger than that can use wood magic and he is not going to be easy to deal with. As Warrod, even in his advanced age is still in the 4 Gods of Ishgar.
All these are assumptions. So instead of dwelling on them and finding the cruel truth, the Magic Council went for the reassuring option.
"So does that mean that this mage also vanished in what caused the low magic pressure?" Seam asked, his face filled with nervousness.
"That, I am not sure. Though the cause of the low magic pressure is some kind of magical instrument that sucked all the magic from the area," Warrod explained. He got the expected response.
"Impossible. We, the Magic Council of Ishgar, have the best technology in the world. We don't think that is possible, Honourable guardian," agreed Belno.
The 4 Gods saw the test of the Magic Council inflate their ego and nod happily about their power. Warrod sighed at this.
It seems some things never change. He is here when the Council started taking things under their control and it's not a pretty sight.
Even before coming here, he is sure that all his reports and theories will be crushed in the infinite ego of the Magic Council, but as a responsible guardian, he came here to warn them.
'If I'm correct, I knew of someone that might have known about this. But I don't know where he is and what he is doing. Only things were simpler,' he sadly thought.
After some time of goading themselves that they are almighty and can face anything, the Council came back to senses and observed the still present 4 Gods of Ishgar.
"We thank you for your help, Honourable guardians. We sincerely hope that another situation like this doesn't arise," said Seam formally and everyone responded in their fashion.
Hyberion nodded in agreement, Warrod nodded with hope, Wolfheim grumbled about useless meetings and Councils and God Serena 'assured' everyone about his power and his protection capabilities.
'Heh. I don't think you can face that monster without my power. What a commanding and suppressing power that magic has. I must get that magic,' thought God Serena.
While everyone was roaming clueless around the battlefield, he felt the crushing potency of the Dragon Slayer magic used. Since being equipped with multiple Dragon Lacrima, he sometimes gets these feelings.
The feeling he got as soon as he entered the vicinity was a crushing presence. It has a mixed feeling of Dragon and something and that piqued his interest.
'It's a shame that I can't use all that power and it's not one of my elements. I'll definitely find the person behind this and show my greatness to them.
God Serena, I vow to be your helper and servant with every part of my body. Please use me as you see fit, my God,' started dreaming God Serena as he walked out of the Council Chambers.
"What about the investigation you did?" Seam asked the Rune Knight captain who was to the side as the 4 Gods of Ishgar spoke till now.
"Sir, we found a person who can help us with this and asked him for help. Please send Mr Sanju in." He called and the doors opened to reveal a handsome man.
He is a fair-skinned man with silver, shaggy hair and red eyes. He had three red markings on his face, one under each of his eyes and one on his chin.
He wore blue armour with a distinctive white fur collar over a simple black suit. The armour was constructed from numerous metal plates, formed into multiple protective guards along his body. Beneath his shoulder armour, he wore two extra shoulder guards on each arm.
This clothing was accompanied by sandals and a helmet-like ornament engraved with a black emblem with weird lines. The Council was surprised by the amount of confidence and stern look.
"Sir, this man claims to be an eye witness and is a resident of the Pergrande Empire. We confirmed his identity and this is the last thing we found in our investigation," he explained.
"Excellent, Mr Sanju, can you tell the Council what happened and how it started?" Seam asked and Sanju nodded.
"Yes, Chairman. My name is Tobirama Sanju and I'm a resident of a nearby town out of reach to ground zero where so many things have happened.
I saw bright colours and as it was late at night, everyone was sleeping. I'm a small water mage that helps around the town with all kinds of waterwork.
There are 2 predominant colours in the sky, Sir. The first is an eerie green and the other is a bright green. I can't tell who the mages are or what they did, but the shockwaves can be felt from far, sir," said Tobirama with a blank face.
The Council members are confused by his tale and more intrigued by the blank look in his red eyes. Those eyes had a wise look that compelled them to believe what he was saying.
Not only that but also the story he was telling closely matched with the one their guardians told. So they all agreed on that and decided to trust the man.
"Yes. We thank you for your help, Mr Tobirama. Please wait outside while we discuss," said Seam and Tobirama left with a nod.
He had a victorious smirk on his face as he walked out of the room. 'Fools. Did they think I'm foolish to let them do as they wish? Now for the next part,' thought the Wood Clone.
Knowing that he can't let the Council do as they wish, Naruto decided on a plan of action, planting his own clone as a spy and keeping a close eye on them.
He had this ready for some time but is waiting for the right time to make his intro. This situation presented a good opportunity and he took it.
He left a clone in the town after he sensed some Rune Knights approach and with one use of Sharingan, he weaved a story and voila, he is here in the Magic Council HQ.
He blankly sat outside the room and as the room was enchanted with many spells, he couldn't hear what they were discussing, not that he was interested.
He chose Tobirama Senju, the Nidaime just so the man felt suitable for him. When he saw his photo in the Hokage Tower during his visits to his Jiji, he felt different emotions for each Hokage.
For his Jiji, it's love and attachment, as he is the first person to greet him warmly and buy him something out of love.
For Shodai, it's a distinct familiarity. Now that he thinks about it, it might have to do something about the whole transmigrant thing.
Nidaime is different. He felt this weird feeling like the man is glaring at him through the photo to find his weakness or something with that blank face of his.
And Yondaime, his father. Naruto felt admiration as his father is his idol and he wanted to become like him when he grew up. Not that he is disappointed that he couldn't anymore...
He chose Tobirama because he felt the man suits the bill. He wants someone who can command and take control forcefully if required and Tobirama's appearance and expression fit the bill.
And so Tobirama Sanju was created. With Naruto's Sharingan, implanting memories isn't a big deal. The Clone reminisced about how he came here.
With Original Naruto
"Thank you for your generosity, Elder. We'll take leave," said Naruto with a bow and the elder nodded.
"Safe travels," all the villagers wished as they became accustomed to the mages.
"Thank you, I'll be going then," said Kagura and started to walk to the other side of the island.
"Can you please follow me, I have some things to be cleared," Naruto asked before she could go far. She heard it and turned towards him.
"Is it important?"
"Very much. Please, take my hand," said Naruto and teleported all of them to the port town.
He has so many questions and clarifications from her and he can't let a powerful sword-like Archenemy fall into the wrong hands after witnessing its capabilities.
And Cut
