Chapter 35
Bubble Gum Trouble
"So what I thought about them is true. They are similar." Sirius said, punching his fists.
"I think this Keyes guy is a stalker. He is just stalking us around." Naruto said and Sirius laughed at that. Who knows, there might be some truth to it.
"Um, who are we talking about again?" Gray asked in confusion.
"Leave it. It's nothing important." Naruto shrugged it off.
"Why did you save me? I can protect myself!" Kagura yelled as she walked beside Naruto to the left of the group.
"Yeah right. By destroying the little forest that exists on the other side," Naruto said carelessly and Kagura didn't have a comeback.
"You need to control the attack power and intensity before you charge. If you destroy everything, you are going to be second Natsu," Naruto said and Natsu got a tick mark.
"Blonde bastard. I'm gonna kick your ass!" Natsu yelled and charged towards Naruto. This only proved Naruto's point as they are nearing the village.
Naruto easily took care of Natsu and shut him up for the rest of the journey. After a few minutes, they met the Mayor and discussed what happened with the animals.
"We are very happy to hear that. Thank you, mages. Here is your reward. We are grateful to you for your work. Safe travels." He said happily while dancing and Naruto nodded and waved at the gathered villagers.
They got a dancing goodbye as most of the townspeople came out to dance in joy. It was amazing to see a whole town dancing with balance and professionality.
"That's quite a sight. I guess you are right. They might have continued dancing with those animals if they didn't cause trouble." Gray said, looking at Sirius.
"I know, right. Just look at them. Dancing with no care about the world. Maybe it's their culture. We didn't know much about them."
"Yea. You are busy dealing with animals and I'm busy searching for that man. So, what's next?" Naruto asked with a smirk.
"What do you mean what's next? Shouldn't we go home? It's been very long since we started on our journey." Natsu said.
"Aye, Sir!" Happy cheered.
"I know. How do you wanna do it? Traditional, flying or teleportation?" Naruto still had that smile.
"Traditional is boring!" Gray exclaimed.
"Teleportation is horrible. I will puke on you if you try that again!" Kagura yelled, surprising everyone.
"Flying is fun. Let's have some fun!" Nats cheered.
"Aye aye, sir!" Happy chorused.
"Let's fly then!" Naruto agreed and all of them took to the skies after a few minutes.
Instead of carrying, Naruto used Earth Style spell on everyone and they started flying like a bird. Even Sirius and Happy enjoyed this without their wings.
Kagura was surprised at how easy flying was and liked the experience. She was like a feather, flying in the sky, thousands of feet above the ground.
She liked it so much and smiled happily for the first time after 'that day'. She even had a safety rope tied to her waist which was connected to Naruto. All of them had.
A safety mechanism of sorts. Naruto didn't trust Natsu to behave and tied a special light rope to him. Though the Pinkett felt privileged by this.
"Ok, hang on tight. We are going to increase our speed. I want to be back in Magnolia soon!" Naruto said with a hungry smile. Before they could protest, he sped.
On that day, many citizens across the path could have sworn they heard screams for help, but couldn't see anyone and wrote it off as daydreaming.
A Day Later, Magnolia
They finally reached Magnolia after a day's journey as Naruto used many types of transport not sticking to flying. The group was dizzy and was about to snap when he teleported them to his house. It was evening by the time they reached.
"Alright guys, you can rest for the night here. Kagura, you can take Sirius's room while we all sleep somewhere around." He said and everyone was very tired to protest.
While everyone dispersed, Naruto went through his clone's memories and found a few interesting things. He went to the rooftop and found the person he was searching for.
"I didn't expect to find you here, Mira. What are you doing here?" He asked with a knowing smirk.
From his clones' memories, in the month/ month and half, he was gone, only 2 people came to take care of the house. First is Loke, Mira was the second person.
"It's you, isn't it? You sent Loke with Erza." She said smoothly, not turning. It's not a question, but a statement. Naruto smiled widely and walked toward her.
"Don't tell that to the poor fellow. He will kill me. How are you doing?" Naruto asked, moving towards her.
"Me? I'm doing well. I'm gonna kick your ass in the S-class trials!" She proclaimed with her fist high.
"Why are you sad, Mira? Why are you crying?" Naruto asked, turning her towards him. He can see tear tracks and puffy eyes from crying.
"Naruto, Naruto-"
"I'm here. Tell me," he said gently, squeezing her shoulders in assurance.
"Do you think I'm ready to be S-class? I can't match you or Gildarts. I even lost to others and couldn't make it in time." She said as tears started to form in her eyes.
"Ah, um, sorry. That's my fault. But that doesn't matter this time. You have me training you, remember? Though I can't take you through every step, I can make you strong enough for you to go on your own.
Come on, show me the confident and strong Mira I knew. This crying girl is not my Mira." He said encouragingly and Mira's heart fluttered at his every word and that last word, it felt different.
She felt her confidence return and the will she lost come back to her. It's that feeling again. But her mind didn't mind it but focused on the cocky blonde in front of her.
"Really? You think it's because you, I became strong, blondie?" She asked changing into her She-Devil form and punched him.
"Yup, all because of me!" He teased and took to the sky with a goofy smile. Mira leapt to chase him and it turned to be a hide and seek across Magnolia.
After some time of playing around, Naruto dropped the white-haired mage at her home and saw Lisanna take her in. 'Rest, Mira. Everything will be alright. I believe in you.' He thought as he returned.
Though he didn't ask what made her cry or doubt herself, he knew it was something deep and she would share it on her own. With that in mind, Naruto went to bed.
With Loke
'I'm going to kill that blonde bastard for this. If not for that stupid blonde, I would be happy flirting with girls. But noooo. He has to intervene and send me with this…this woman.' Loke thought in frustration.
She is a pain in the ass, he will agree with that. She is too strict for his tastes to talk and doesn't hold back when she wants to 'punish' him for some dumb reason.
He is sure more than a few of his bones cracked and some other areas were injured. If not for this stupid job, he would be long gone by now. But it's almost over now. He is going to be a free man soon.
"Come on, we must catch the train before it leaves!" Erza said in a stern tone as she moved through the thick forest. With a groan, Loke followed her.
"100-kilo press!" They heard someone say and Loke felt heavy suddenly. His body felt limp and stuck to the ground.
"Ugh. What is this sudden weight?" He groaned as his muscles screamed in pain.
"What? Who are you? Identify yourselves!" Erza said in a commanding tone. She looked around and saw 2 new people. With Loke.
First is a tall young woman with short blond hair and bright green eyes. She wore a yellow and orange hat, as well as a yellow dress with a lemon-like pattern, lemon earrings, white high-heeled shoes and a blue jacket with white stripes over this.
She had a bright yellow parasol with blue stripes in her hands. She was smirking at her while sitting on Loke's back. Loke seemed to be in pain, which, Erza can't understand.
Next to her was a tall, dark-skinned man with black hair in short spiky dreadlocks. He wore a brown trench coat with a pink cravat and a pair of sunglasses, looking at her boredly.
"Look at that, it doesn't look that difficult to sneak on you. What do you say, Gum?" The woman spoke to the man with a taunting smirk.
"Yes, it looks like it, Bubble. Let's get this over with and-" he stopped himself and Erza's eyes narrowed.
"Are you sent by someone? Who is it? Tell me and I'll let you go." Erza said in the same commanding tone.
"Too bad, there is no such thing. How about you come quietly with us, or else-"
"Or else what?"
"Or else this good looking man here will be crushed under me." Bubble said with a happy smile, patting Loke's head.
"You bastards. I'll kick your ass!" Loke squeezed out with effort as he felt the weight on him increase.
"Aw, what a cutie. You should say that when you can fight." Bubble said as she increased weight again.
"Chain Dome!" Loke yelled and chains started to form around him and soon, Bubble had to move as she didn't want to get pierced by one.
A dome of chains formed around Loke, protecting him. He breathed heavily, taking in large gulps of air. After a few minutes, the dome dispersed and he looked healthier now.
"I was looking to have some fun!" Bubble said and Gum smirked.
"Who do you want to have fun with? Woman or man?" Gum asked picking his nose.
"Erza! They are dangerous. I don't know what her magic is, but I felt her weight increase as time passed. Maybe she uses some kind of Weight Magic."
"Yes, Loke. I'll take care of the man while you take care of her." Erza said resolutely.
"But I want to fight him!" Loke whined.
"Looks like it is decided. Let's have some fun!" Bubble said and both of them charged toward their opponents.
"Heaven's Wheel Armour," Erza said. Her body was engulfed in gold light and a plated armour formed.
A plated armour covered her chest, with a large metal flower over it, and her blue skirt changed into a large billowing skirt that has metal plating in the upper area. Her stomach and neck are uncovered, and she has large metal wings that appear to be made of individual blades, as well as a wing-like headpiece.
Though her opponent didn't seem impressed by this as he charged toward her without concern and Erza expected some attack but saw him nose-picking.
"It's not time to pick your nose!" She yelled and sent a few swords toward him. Then something unexpected happened. He sent something towards them and an explosion occurred.
"Nose Fancy Cannon," Gum said as he landed. Erza was surprised. She didn't see anything move when he flicked his finger. Then what happened?
"Couldn't understand what happened? Maybe this will give you clarity." Gum said and flicked his hand again. This time Erza saw something fly towards her at high speeds.
She created a sword shield and notice it explode upon contact. 'Is that mucus? Did he send his nose mucus and it exploded?' She thought in surprise.
She had encountered many opponents, but this was different. She didn't see anyone use their mucus as a weapon. She is going to win this no matter what.
"If your mucus is what makes tye explosion, then there is a possibility any other part of your body can do the same. Let's settle this then." Erza said and summoned more swords around her.
"Blumenblatt," she said and another explosion is the result. She is going to find the weakness.
"Trinity Sword," she said, slashing the opponent in a delta formation. Explosion.
"Pentagram Sword," she said, slashing in a pentagram formation and the result is same.
"If you are going to slash, I can do this all day. I need to take you down. Give up already," Gum said in a bored tone, picking his nose.
"Now that I understood what was going on, I can settle this," Erza said with a confident smile.
"You could if I give you an opportunity." Gum said and started firing his mucus continuously.
"Nose Fancy Rapid Cannon," he said and smirked and he knew Erza can't escape this. She is slow. With all those swords, she was weighed down and with a satisfied smile, he turned to help Gum.
"Where are you going? Didn't I say you are going to fight me? Wind God Armor," Gum heard Erza say and he turned around, she changed her armour.
With Loke
"Dancing Viper," called Loke. He created several chains. The tips of the chains and sent towards the flying woman. she cackled in glee for some reason but didn't move. The chains then changed manifested into snakeheads, which then attacked Bubble from multiple directions at the same time.
"Heh, you think such a slow attack can touch me?" She taunted him and used her parasol to fly in the area.
"Don't mind me. I'll be checking how much weight they can take," she said, throwing a raspberry at him and catching the Viper like chains with her hands.
"Chain Spikes," Loke said and spikes started to form from the tips of the chains and Bubble had to leave them to escape.
"Damn. I thought I could bend them. No worries. When I put you out of your miseries, they can't touch me!" She said with a happy smile and charged again.
"If you are that much interested in weights, I'll be glad to oblige. Weighted Chain!" Loke said and a chain with a cylindrical weighted tip formed on a chain.
"Come, baby. Unite with mama!" Bubble said and rushed towards the chain. She liked the shape of the weight structure and went to hug it.
"Chain Rain," Loke said and many chains started falling around Bubble like rain. Though they are numerous, they are slow, at least that's what she thought.
She changed their direction as she dodged and one has managed to pierce her and the first blood of the battle was drawn. Bubble looked at him outraged. But Loke was not done yet.
"Twister," he said touching the Magic Ring he was wearing. Summoning forth his green Magic Seal. A powerful storm formed around him and with a twist of his hands, everything was ripped off and thrown in all directions, including Bubble.
"10,000 Kilo Press- Stability," Bubble said increasing her body weight and stood still with her parasol in the twister and after everything was settled, smoothly landed.
"So that's it, huh. You increase and decrease your body weight as per need. I'm a fool to think you can control gravity." Loke said with a satisfied smirk.
"What difference does it make, darling? You are dead meat anyway. I'll take revenge in blood. It's been long since someone showed me my blood!" She exclaimed and both of them readied for round two.
While this was going on, a figure can be seen recording everything going on with a spy lacrima. Ultear was happy with what she was seeing.
As per orders of Master Hades, she employed some mercenaries to act as distractions while she spies and captures everything Erza and this new guy do for analysis.
From what she can observe, Erza improved a lot and her mastery over her swords and armour has gone up. As for this new candidate, Loke, he is amusing as well.
His magic is not great at all. Just some Ring magic and Chain magic. She knew he wouldn't be much of a threat to them. But knowing your enemy's strengths is always a plus.
'Yes, yes. Show me what you got. I want to see more!' Ultear cheered as destruction reigned in the area.
Next Day, Fairy Tail Guildhall
As usual, Naruto banged the door open, gaining the attention of the whole guild without much difficulty. They all greeted the blonde with cheery smiles and warm welcomes.
"Hi."
"Hello."
"How did your job go?"
"I'm great."
"How are you doing?"
Naruto replied as he walked towards the drinking master who was eyeing the girl beside him with a broad smile.
"It's great to have such a beautiful young lady here. What can I do for you?" Makarov asked with flushed cheeks and a hick-up which made Naruto sigh and Kagura glare at the drunk old man.
"Is this the old man you want me to see?" Kagura asked with raised eyebrows.
"Now, now. It's not the way to talk about the elderly. Tell me, what can I do for you?" Makarov asked with a cough as if anything didn't happen.
"Well-"
"I think we should take this to your office?" Naruto suggested as destruction reigned supreme in the once calm guild hall as Natsu and Gray started to greet others in style.
"I'm afraid we should." Makarov sighed and led them to his office while Sirius encouraged a stool throwing Happy to take revenge with his improved strength.
Makarov's Office
As they moved into Makarov's office to talk in private, Naruto stood at the door, leaning against the frame while Kagura sat in front of Makarov.
"I'm sorry that I didn't introduce myself. My name is Makarov, Makarov Dreyar." He introduced and Kagura introduced herself respectfully.
"What brought you to Fairy Tail?" Makarov asked seriously. All his drunk demeanour was gone, replaced with a stern look and sharp eyes.
"While on the S-class job, I found her fighting someone for that sword. It's called-"
"Archenemy. It's Archenemy, sir." Kagura interrupted and Naruto let her continue. Makarov listened to her story with rapt attention while Naruto closely observed, filling in the minor details if Kagura forgot any.
"So you want to find your brother?" Makarov asked and Kagura nodded.
"I don't want you to go around alone with Archenemy, Kagura. I know you want to reunite with him more than anything. But think, it's not safe for you to go alone." Makarov reasoned.
"What do you suggest? Leave him be and let him suffer?" She asked angrily.
"I'm not suggesting that dear. Give me some time. I'll try to find anything about him." Makarov said softly.
"Some time means how much?" She asked sharply.
"A few months. I need to go through all the events and find him, right?"
"Fine. But I'm not going to join your guild, irrespective of whatever you may say." She said with finality and Makarov nodded.
"That's agreeable. Naruto, take care of her till then." Makarov said and Naruto nodded.
'At least she agreed to stay for a few months now. Let's train then!' Naruto thought in relief. If Kagura remained stubborn, he had to resort to using force and he didn't like the idea.
'I'm leaving her in your hands, Naruto. I promise I'll try my best to find her brother. Take care of her, child.' Makarov said telepathically and Naruto gave Makarov a subtle nod.
"MASTER!" They heard Cana shout from the hallway and rushed to see what happened.
"What happened, Cana? Is something wrong?" Makarov asked, concerned.
"I'm sorry, Naruto. I, I can't protect him. T-they played dirty and he was injured." Erza said as she went unconscious.
Before anyone could do anything, he jumped in and started using his healing chakra and healed Loke first as he seemed more injured than Erza.
He sent his healing chakra and removed all the burnt skin and stitched all the wounds and healed his small injuries with less effort.
Naruto observed how Loke's bones and muscles seemed to have strained as if forced to contract by some pressure. His chakra healed all of them easily. But he had to force more chakra than usual.
After he was satisfied with Loke's state, he went to Erza. She was less injured compared to Loke. The Celestial spirit took more than he could handle while Erza's armour saved her from some nasty attacks.
Knowing they were out of danger and are stable, Naruto left the infirmary, giving them time to rest. He told everyone the good news and all were relieved to hear it.
"You have a lot of guts tending to my patients like that, boy," Naruto heard someone say and turned to face them. He came face to face with a stern-looking woman.
She is a slim and tall elderly woman with pink hair, tied in a bun on the back of her head by two large pins with crescent moon-shaped edges, and with two bangs of hair left framing her face. She has reddish eyes, and a beauty mark located below her mouth, on the left side of her face.
Her attire consists of a dark green blouse with a tie around the collar, paired with a long matching skirt and simple shoes. Over this, she sports a crimson-coloured cape, with a wide collar decorated by massive Dragon horn-like decorations protruding outwards, and edges adorned by white, arch-like motifs.
"Sorry, granny-" Naruto dodged a broom attack from the woman.
"Seeing the seriousness, I had to act," Naruto said with a sheepish smile.
"I'll look at them and if I find something wrong, you are dead!" She said angrily and went into the infirmary to check Loke and Erza.
She checked Erza first and since her injuries are not that life-threatening and her treatment was easy as well as knowing the woman from past interactions, Porlyusica knew it would take more than what happened to beat Erza.
She then moved to the other patient. She didn't remember his face and assumed him to be a new member. His vitals are stable and the treatment given to him shocked her.
'What is this? This is no ordinary healing magic. It's thick and what a fierce aura. Why do I feel some familiarity with this?' She thought as she scanned Loke.
On closer observation, she can see more than 3 different magics in him. One felt abundant while the other 2 felt distant but very strong.
She noted to investigate this further and took a few samples of both of their blood to test for any abnormalities and left the infirmary.
"You have guts, kid. Well done. They are stable and need some rest, that's it." She said and everyone sighed in relief. This only made it awkward.
Naruto didn't mention or say he had healing capability or is a healer. Seeing their awkward stares, Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly.
They discussed any possibilities of what happened and what Erza said before going unconscious was repeated in Naruto's mind.
"Naruto-" he heard Erza's low whisper and bolted into the infirmary immediately. He assured everyone and entered with an excuse to check them up.
"I'm here," he said, sitting on the seat beside Erza. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at the concerned ceruleans with guilt.
"I'm sorry. They attacked us out of nowhere and Loke had to endure more than he could handle. They played dirty and singled him. I'm sorry I couldn't keep him safe, Naruto. I couldn't keep my promise," Erza cried in guilt.
"What are you talking about, woman? I was just reminded why I should be strong again. I was fooling around, not taking my training seriously. I guess this is long due.
Sorry, Naruto. I didn't do what was asked of me. I didn't do what I promised you. I promise I'll take my training seriously and become strong. Strong enough to protect my friends!" Loke proclaimed in a low but determined tone.
Naruto can feel the hurt and disappointment the proud Lion spirit is feeling and nodded with a smile. Erza turned to see a blurry Loke looking determinedly.
"Does that mean you have forgiven me?"
"I can't stay mad at such a beautiful woman, can I?" He said with a cough and Erza nodded in joy.
"Now tell me what you two are blabbering about," Naruto asked and Erza and Loke looked at each other.
Flashback Start
"They are doing good, Bubble," Gum said with a smile, nothing worse for wear. Even though he is fighting an S-class mage.
"Oh yes, I got such a good gentleman, he is taking everything I threw at him head-on. It's a pity that he can't handle them and he seems to learn a thing or two," Bubble said cheerfully.
"Let's start what we came for. I don't think she can wait long and she is starting to become an annoyance," Gum said, picking his nose and Bubble nodded.
"Bomb Kick," Gum said, appearing on Erza and kicking her, detonating his leg on impact. The explosion rocked the area, but it didn't affect Erza as intended.
"Wind God Armour," Erza spoke with a smirk. A gust of wind came to reveal Erza in new armour.
This armour takes the form of a tribal-type robe that covered her upper body in a waist coat-like garb. Her neckline is topped with fur along with a dark streak underneath that fur, with short hanging sleeves that end with a triangular pattern along the hem. A fur-lined sash sat beneath her bust, covering them and above that, a garb keeps tied up and the ends of the coat fanned out by the wearer's thighs. Her forearms are white bandages strapped around them from the wrist to below the elbow.
The lower portion of the armour consists of a pair of dark pants and light, shin-high boots where the tongue is flanked by the main body of the boot flaring out slightly. The armour is completed with a pair of wings that sit on either side of her head and with her hair tied into a low ponytail.
"It's just wind. Now I know how you work, I can take full advantage of this. You can't harm me now," she said with a confident smirk.
"Sneeze Bomb,"
"Nose Fancy Cannon,"

Gum tried all his attacks. As soon as his attacks come near her, Erza would send a wind slash, block or sometimes cut them.
Everything resulted in his explosive attacks flying past her and detonating harmlessly away from her. Frustrated by Erza's victorious smirk, a thought came to Gum's mode.
He smiled darkly and observed his surroundings. Though not near them, Bubble is fighting that guy in the forest and he can cash this opportunity.
He slowly started taking his fight towards them and when he saw an ample sound of crushing wood and chains grinding, he sent one of his attacks at Erza.
"Don't you get it? You can't win with these," Erza said cutting the mucus and sending it harmlessly. It fell a foot behind her and detonated.
He got 3 wood crushes in response and he smirked. Bubble to his hint and he is going to attack the man if he can't attack the woman. Not that he can do more.
If he was correct, his employer has got all the information she needed and he can end the attack and make a run for it.
"Exploding Fancy Double Cannon," Gum said, sending his exploding mucus towards a floating Erza. She dodged it and he smirked at her. Behind her, Bubble pressed Loke to the ground hard.
"10,000 Kilo press acceleration!" Bubble said, pushing Loke's body towards the incoming Gum's attack. This increased Loke's speed and the impact turned more deadly than it should be. Erza's eyes widened in horror.
Even though she is an S-class mage, from what she observed of Gum's attacks, only her strongest armour can withstand the speed and impact and the Requip takes a few seconds.
If her analysis is correct, she doesn't have that much time to Requip as at the speed the both of them are travelling, it would be too late.
"Chain Magic: Iron Dome!" Loke said panicked. Erza felt chains form around her, shielding her from the explosion completely.
"Ring Magic: Twister," Loke said, forming a Twister with his Ring magic to decrease the impact the attack has on him.
As predicted, the attack hit Loke head-on and the Chain Dome got a pushback. Loke was injured badly, even the decreased speed with Twister didn't help.
"That's good. But what about the second one and a few more that followed it?" They heard Gum speak and much to their dismay, more and more explosions started to rock the area.
Loke got blown away and got hit in multiple areas and soon his Chain Dome collapsed, revealing a pissed off Erza.
As an honorary Knight, she values a fair battle more than anything else. But these people are playing dirty, exploiting a weakness of an injured person and her friend is something she can't forgive.
"You! How dare exploit an injured weakness! As a Knight of honour, I won't leave you! Adamantine Armour!" Erza called her strongest armour. She got it recently and its strength and durability are second to none. It's one of a kind.
The Adamantine Armor is a large, blue and navy coloured armour. The breastplate is composed of different plates joined together, with four, prominent tube-like ornaments on the front, right above her breasts, below the high armoured collar.
The shoulder pads are very large and sport prominent plates shaped like spikes, protruding from a far darker part that composes the base of the structure. The armour is completed by a helmet that covers the top and the sides of Erza's face, leaving the back part of her head exposed, and sporting prominent spikes jutting outwards.
Its most prominent features are the immense durability and protection it provides Erza. As per estimates, this armour can take a Jupiter Cannon blast head-on.
"You have crossed a line which I won't take lightly. You have injured and exploited a friend's weakness repeatedly. I'm going to beat you two into a pulp!" Erza said and charged.
All tricks Gum and Bubble tried were defended by her Adamantine Armour. Gum's explosions didn't have any effect while Bubble's weight press is endured by the armour.
"They won't work. This is the strongest armour and most durable as well," Erza said and finished the battle in minutes. She took Loke and changed into her Flight Armour and flew towards Magnolia at high speeds to get him medical attention.
Flashback End
"So you kicked their ass with Adamantine Armour and came here?" Naruto asked with a smirk and Erza nodded.
"That she did," Loke coughed. Others came in by now and heard Erza's tale with attention.
"That calls for a party. Let's celebrate our new members' arrival and Loke's successful recovery!" Macao cheered.
"I'm not a member yet!" Kagura protested in denial but it went unnoticed as everyone cheered for the party.
Erza looked at the 'so-called' new member and felt she knew her, but couldn't remember how or from where and pushed it aside for now.
