I would highly recommend heading over to my Elements "story" and reading the most recent post tilted Across the Hall if you want to see a Kurt and David resolution.

"I need to talk." Kurt came into Alec and Eric's apartment, a large plate in his hand.

"If that food is for us, talk as long as you need to." Eric, who was laying on the couch and snuggling with Alec, sat up.

"Rude." Alec scoffed, sitting up and fixing his hair.

"I really need to talk to you. It's important." Kurt blurted after Eric took the food from him, looking like Christmas had come early.

"What's up?" Alec stood up, going over to him. "We can sit in the kitchen if you don't mind the sounds of Eric's lips smacking as he licks his fingers clean."

"Don't be rude. He brings real, home cooked food. They didn't make stuff like this is California." Eric called from the kitchen.

"We can talk here. I just got a call. One of our professors forwarded my portfolio to a designer in California." Kurt made sure his cell phone was on silent.

"And?" Alec asked eagerly.

"The designer wants to sponsor me to complete school in San Francisco at the Academy of Art University."

"That's awesome! Is… that awesome?" Alec at first looked excited, then confused.

"I didn't give them an answer yet." Kurt sat down in one of their chairs. "I applied there too and I got in… Parsons has always been my dream goal and obviously I'm doing well but…"

"But?" Alec prompted.

"I would be so far away from my family, my friends… and Blaine." Kurt admitted. "But the sponsorship comes with a paid internship with the designer who wants to sponsor me which means I'd have a real job while going to school."

"Tell me what you want from me exactly." Alec said slowly.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you want me to talk you into it or out of it? Or do you legitimately not know which decision you want to make?" Alec asked.

"I legitimately don't know." Kurt admitted.

"It's a really, really good opportunity." Alec offered. "It sounds like it's a guaranteed job… and they're sponsoring you so you won't have to pay for the rest of your schooling."

Kurt nodded.

"You would be working with a legit designer… not just intern stuff where you never even see the main designers." Alec added.

"Yeah."

"But it's on the other side of the country… somewhere you've never visited let alone lived… it's more expensive to live there but you make so much more there… I mean, Kurt, Los Angeles is the main mecca for fashion design." Alec continued. "But Blaine isn't there."

"There are tons of law schools in California." Eric came back in.

"He's done three semesters of six already." Kurt responded.

"And it's Harvard." Alec pointed out. "You can't ask Blaine to leave Harvard."

"I wouldn't." Kurt said instantly.

"Are you two even official yet?" Eric asked curiously.

"No." Kurt confessed. "But we've been doing a lot better and…"

"Doing better isn't being in the relationship. It sounds like you need to talk to Blaine before you make any decision." Eric shrugged. "If you're considering him in this, that is. And it sounds like you are."

"Of course I am." Kurt sighed. "He's the biggest reason I'm leaning towards declining it."

"Are you going to have regrets about not doing it and harbor resentment if you do get back with him?" Eric asked.

"Eric, way to be positive!" Alec scoffed. "You've been watching too much TV. Go upstairs and stare at your gray hairs or something."

"First, it was only one gray hair and I already pulled it. Second, you can't just talk about the boring stuff like money and miles. That's not what's going to keep him from going… and he's at the age where he doesn't live at home anyway and he already has to travel. He's making this decision based on Blaine." Eric said. "And you, my dear, haven't done that before. I have and I had to ask you the tough questions too before I went to medical school. I was very lucky because you were barely eighteen and probably would have followed me anywhere. Blaine has roots in Cambridge now. He has a job at a law firm that will probably turn into a job after school as well. It's a huge decision they will have to make together and you can go to logistics all you want, and Kurt can listen, but at the end of the day it's going to be between he and Blaine… who really needs to make it official again, by the way, if you don't go."

Alec scowled. "He always brings up the age difference when he has an opinion in personal life. My pea brain can't answer it properly yet."

Kurt didn't speak—what was he supposed to do? He wasn't going to pick sides between the two people he could talk to that somewhat understood what was going on.

"But he's right on this one… Blaine had his last final today, right? Just Skype him and talk this out." Alec sighed.

"So he can go to his friends about it and David come and murder me?" Kurt looked horrified.

"He's got a hot head on him." Eric said out of nowhere.

"Blaine?"

"David. He's one of my surgical interns at the hospital." Eric shrugged as if it was nothing. "Well, was… will be again when I'm back."

"How do you know it's Blaine's David?"

"Facebook… He and Blaine are friends. We're mutual friends. It wasn't too hard to figure out. Although I'm pretty sure he has no idea that I know you or Blaine."

Kurt stared at Eric, blinking.

"Was that vital information?" Eric looked confused.

"He's a dick. You should choose someone else to do your next surgery with you." Kurt blurted without thinking.

"Done. It's brain surgery, too. The day I get back. Sucks for him." Eric hmphed and walked from the room.

"Is he… really going to do that?" Kurt asked Alec, now feeling a little bad.

"Oh, residents pit interns against each other all the time. Apparently, it's the only way to entertain themselves." Alec rolled his eyes. "But sometimes he's not the most mature person for his age."

"Neither is Blaine." Kurt said thoughtfully. "Who I need to talk to, I guess."

Alec grinned at him. "Oh my God, Kurt, that is so exciting even if you don't do it. Congratulations!"

"Thanks." Kurt nodded, smiling. "It is really exciting."

"It could happen here too, you know? Obviously, someone is pimping out your work… I wonder who it is." Alec chewed on his lip. "I beat it's Meadows. She loves you and she did fashion in California until she became a professor."

"All of our professors have done fashion in California." Kurt pointed out, standing. "Okay, I need to go and call Blaine."

"You're doing it tonight?"

"I have to make plans to meet him tomorrow anyway. We're flying out together."

"He's driving to New York and you're flying out together?" Alec gasped. "That's so cute."

"It wasn't even my idea. I guess Wes is flying out a different day and David—."

"He wants to spend time with you." Alec interrupted. "Don't write that off or make it sound less than it is. You guys have made a lot of progress. I bet you're going to get back together soon."

"I really hope so… I'm ready for all of this to be behind us. It already feels more stable than it has… well, ever. I feel a lot closer to him." Kurt played with his apartment badge. "I don't know what I would do without him."

"You should definitely talk to Blaine but… don't write off California just yet. We're young and you should put yourself first." Alec looked him in the eyes.

"Did you ever regret following Eric to Ohio?"

"I was eighteen and in love. We had been together for four years and Eric was my only boyfriend… After there were sometimes I regretted it." Alec admitted. "But overall, I think I made the right decision. I love him very much and I think what I may have lost, I got back twice by being with him. Long-term relationships teach you compromising and sometimes you miss stuff but the important thing is if you go to bed feeling fulfilled… and I do. And I always will as long as he's here with me."

Kurt nodded, expression very serious.

"If it were me… I would turn it down. You and Blaine have something special. He loves you so much. You can see it in his eyes when he looks at you; I can see it in your eyes when you look at him too. Still, put yourself first. You don't do that a lot."

"I'm working on that." Kurt picked at a nail anxiously and then put his hands in his pockets when he realized what he was doing. "I think I should talk to Blaine about this in person… It doesn't seem like a Skype or flight conversation."

"I can see what you mean." Alec nodded. "I'd have been a little annoyed if Alec had the Ohio talk in the air or over a computer screen."

"But… you don't regret it? Overall, you don't regret going to Ohio with him?"

Eric walked through, shoving a whole cookie into his mouth.

"Ask me that again when he's able to go to the office in February and do paperwork." Alec rolled his eyes but could not help but smile.

Eric swallowed and teasingly said, "I can take that ring back."

"Good luck with that." Alec shook his hand in the air.

"I'm too lazy. I guess you can keep it." Eric plopped on the couch and turned on Netflix.

Kurt snorted. "He's going to be there the rest of the night, isn't he?"

"Yes." Alec nodded. "Yes, Kurt. He is."

Long Time Coming

"What's it like living with Wes? I really need to know." Megan, David's sister, asked Blaine after coming up behind him at the kitchen table.

"Exactly how you'd imagine." Blaine laughed, getting up to hug her.

"Lots of drunk laughing and girls over every night?"

"Actually no." Blaine said after a few seconds. "But he's still super annoying."

David laughed.

"No girls? I'm shocked." Megan said, pulling back.

"He actually hasn't had girls over since our roommate moved in." Blaine said.

"Does he like her?"

"That is debatable." David responded.

"What is not debatable is the fact that she cannot stand him." Blaine added. "It drives me insane when they argue."

"Ah, young love." Megan sighed and shook her head. "What are we gonna do? Is Wes coming over?"

"Jessie has a school play so they're at that." David said. "Wes' family is going to come here for dinner… by dinner, I mean that we're ordering pizza. Wes and I decided."

"Blaine just wants the pasta bowl." Blaine chirped.

"We'll get you the pasta bowl." Dana, David's mother, laughed coming through. She ruffled his wet hair. "Honey, how is Kurt?"

"He's fine." Blaine's face lit up. "We both flew into Ohio together."

"You mentioned." David said, surprisingly without a 'tone' to his voice. "Once or twice."

"Leave him be." Dana playfully pushed David's shoulder.

"We've concluded David's upset he can't keep a woman." Megan told Blaine.

Blaine rolled his eyes. "No. He's just an ass."

David laughed.

"You boys." Dana shook her head and walked back out of the kitchen.

"Finally." David said when his sister followed her out.

"I like your sister." Blaine pointed out.

"I do too but she's driving me crazy about getting married. I barely have time to do laundry and brush my teeth." David said. "Also, I keep buying new scrubs because it's easier than getting blood out of old ones."

"That is probably really expensive. Don't the hospital provide you with those?"

"Well yeah but the sizing is limited." David shrugged.

Blaine snorted. "You have time to find a girl or wife or whatever it is you want."

David shrugged again. "I'm not really interested in that. And no, it's not because of Mercedes. That was fizzling out about six months before you and Kurt broke up."

"Really? You never said anything."

"To you. I talked about it with Wes. You were dating her best friend. I didn't want you put in that position." David sighed a bit. "It's whatever. I just don't think I have time for it. If I meet the right person, I'm sure I'll know."

"Is it like Grey's Anatomy? Everyone going at it with everyone?" Blaine asked.

"Some do but not everyone. Plus, why would you want to with people you see all the time?" David asked. "It's usually with people who are on other floors… less awkward."

"Do you like surgery?" Blaine asked.

"Actually, no. I've talked with my official resident, though. I'm going to PEDS next year." David said. "He's been gone. He got sick but he comes back in February or something."

"PEDS?" Blaine asked.

"With kids and babies. It will be less surgery… and I like the kids better anyway. Adults second-guess everything I say because I am an intern. Give a kid a sticker and they barely say a word." David laughed.

Blaine cringed.

"What?"

"All I can think of when I hear pediatrician is my lovely father." Blaine sighed.

"So… I kind of wanted to talk to you." David said.

"Uh oh." Blaine cringed again. "If it's following that, I don't even want to know what about."

"I didn't tell you this because I didn't want you to be mad." David began. "But… well, apparently I live across the hall from Kurt."

Blaine, who already knew that they lived across the hall because Kurt had told him, tried to look like he was shocked.

"You know." David said. "How do you know?"

"Kurt texted me after you guys talked." Blaine admitted.

"I know you guys asked me to leave him alone and I was going to… but Mercedes told me he lived there and I saw him going in the building once as I was coming out… and he was with some guy and they were talking about you. And he was saying how much he missed you and I… I guess seeing him talk about it to someone and not hearing you talk about him…" David trailed off.

"Yes?" Blaine prompted.

"I shouldn't have acted the way I did. It crossed the line… it crossed the line and back ten times. And I apologized to him. Sincerely apologized to him. And I want to apologize to you too, Blaine… because maybe if I hadn't been such an ass, you two could have figured this shit out a long time ago." David looked Blaine in the eyes. "I'm sorry. I just… worry about you."

"What did Kurt say?"

"We talked it out and we're okay." David looked at Blaine. "He's good for you, Blaine… and I fully support whatever you and Kurt do. I just want you to be happy."

"I want you to get to know him more." Blaine looked back at him. "I know you guys know each other but… I mean, he and Wes text back and forth without me being included. You both will probably be more comfortable with everything if you knew each other better. He's… he's amazing. I want him to know you better too because you and Wes… you're my family. You three are the most important people in my life."

"Let's all go and get dinner on New Year's." David stood. "After you spend the week with Kurt."

"What?" Blaine raised his eyebrow.

"Go pack your stuff back up, Blaine… I want you here; I really do. But you spend your Christmas with Kurt and his family… you have for years. So I want to take you. We're not getting pizza."

"Take me where?" Blaine asked dumbly. "And I really wanted that pasta bowl…"

"To Kurt. You've stayed here for two days. Mom and Dad have loved having you here, but Dad says you need to go."

"What?" Blaine asked. Was he dreaming—was David's dad kicking Blaine out?

"You should be with Kurt and his family."

"Wait, what?" Blaine repeated, feeling his heartbeat speed up. Was he going to get to see Kurt tonight? As in, before the new year?

"You guys are close to getting back together. They've been your family for a long time and… I understand that now. Kurt makes you happy and Kurt's family is very special to you. They're your family now." David looked him in the eyes.

"Dana invited me over. I can see Kurt after Christmas." Blaine sputtered.

"Christmas Eve is the day after tomorrow and you should spend it there. You are always welcome here with us but… but you haven't had very many good holidays. You deserve to make these memories with Kurt." David stood up. "Get your stuff packed and I'll take you when you're ready."

"David…" Blaine looked confused.

"It's fine." David met his eyes. "I'm happy for you now but hopefully by the time it's official again, I'll feel better about everything. But that's not important, you are. I want you to have as many good memories as you can to replace the bad ones."

Blaine felt tears welling up in his eyes and wiped them away. "Thanks."

"Anytime." David said before leaving the room.

On one hand he felt bad—had he been acting like he hadn't wanted to be there? He was sure he'd been acting normal, though, and he did want to be there.

On the other hand—he missed watching Christmas cartoons with Melody and Burt. He missed making cupcakes and cookies with Carole and Kurt—he was even getting better at decorating them now. And obviously, potato candy. But that was a given.

Blaine packed his stuff up in his traveling bag and headed downstairs.

"Sweetie, we want you to go." Dana said, coming up to hug him.

"Are you sure? I love staying here too." Blaine protested, setting the bag down.

"Oh, we know you do. Probably mostly for the food." Derek, David's father, laughed.

"You should be with Kurt and his family." Dana gave him a squeeze.

"I appreciate that… I just hope I haven't seemed like I didn't want to be here." Blaine bit his lip nervously.

"No. We know you love being here and we love having you here—we always do." Derek reassured him. "But you've gotten used to holidays over there. They're your family, as much as you're always welcome in ours."

"You don't get to see Kurt very often. You should take advantage of the break—especially through the holidays." Dana added. "I love you, honey."

"I love you too." Blaine hugged her again. "If you all are sure… I really… that means a lot."

"We know. And you mean a lot to all three of us." Dana said. "It was David's idea."

"Dad's idea, huh?" Blaine grinned to David.

"Thanks, Mom." David sighed. "Come on, let's go."

Blaine hugged Derek before grabbing his bag. "I'll come back, I promise."

Can you go to the front door?

Kurt looked down at his phone, confused.

Blaine, did you mean to send this to Wes or David?

No. Can you go to the front door?

Kurt had been about to get in bed—okay, search aimlessly for outfits that would inspire some creation that wasn't for school related things. He was in his pajamas and been about to pull the covers when they text had come.

It's pretty cold, by the way.

Kurt's eyes widened and he all but ran to the front door, throwing it open. "Blaine!"

"Kurt!" Blaine pushed his way in and pulled Kurt into a hug.

"But—Westerville—?" Kurt sputtered, pulling back.

"David said I should be here with you… so he brought me."

"David?" Kurt's eyes widened.

"Yeah. I haven't spent a Christmas away from you since we first got together… I guess they could tell I was a little sad." Blaine admitted.

"I've been sad, too. It just hasn't felt the same." Kurt nodded, pulling Blaine into another hug. "I've missed you so much! I wasn't expecting to see you until January."

"If you will put up with me, I told them I probably wouldn't be back until after New Year's." Blaine gave a dopey sort of grin.

Kurt's grip tightened again and he felt tears fill his eyes. "I love you, Blaine."

"I love you too." Blaine leaned in and pressed their lips together.

"The kid's here is all." Burt called up the stairs gruffly to Carole before going into the kitchen.

Carole came down, in her own pajamas. "See, Melody? It's not a monster."

Melody giggled, following behind Carole. "It's the Blaine Monster."

"I am a bit of a monster when I wake up before the sun." Blaine pulled away, scooping her up. "Hey, Mellie."

"Did you get me a present, Blaine?" Melody tilted her head adorably.

"I have not done any Christmas shopping." Blaine confessed. "I was traveling. I still have two days."

"Santa spends all year making presents. You should feel lucky it only takes you two days to get yours." Melody played with the top of his jacket's zipper.

"I missed you, pumpkin." Blaine gave her a tight squeeze, laughing when she acted like he was suffocating her.

"Sorry, Carole." Kurt said, not looking sorry in the slightest.

"I knew getting her to bed this early would have been a miracle anyway." Carole sighed as Burt walked back in.

"Daddy, Blaine's here!" Melody chirped, now playing with the collar on Blaine's jacket.

"I see. That means we have one too many mouths to feed so you'll have to stay somewhere else, Mel." Burt grinned, coming over.

Melody looked to Carole. "Mooooommy."

"You don't have to stay somewhere else, Melody." Carole laughed.

"That's right because I'm the baby." Melody looked at Blaine. "Put me down, please."

Blaine laughed, doing as told.

Carole moved to hug Blaine tightly. "You're too thin. Are you eating?"

"Unless you don't count copious amounts of fast food as eating, yes." Blaine hugged her back.

"You've only got another year or two before gravity turns it back on you for eating that stuff, kid." Burt said. "Melody, it's time for bed. Remember how we were about to brush your teeth and tuck you in?"

"But my other brother is here." Melody walked back to Blaine, suddenly very interested in him.

"Are you using me?" Blaine scoffed.

"You use me to get extra samples at the store." Melody responded before wrapping her arms around his leg.

"Honey, Kurt and Mommy are the only ones that don't." Carole bent down. "But it's bedtime. Maybe Blaine can take you to bed?"

Melody pouted and tilted her head to look up at Blaine. "Are you going to leave soon?"

"Nope. I'm here until after New Year's." Blaine said.

Carole gasped, looking positively thrilled.

"Does this mean you two are—"

"Burt!" Carole hissed. "Butt out."

"It's a good question. I come in and they are making out. Blaine is staying two weeks. Is it not a good question, Blaine?"

"I'm going to put Melody to bed." Blaine scooped her up as Kurt opened his mouth to scold Burt. "Good night, everyone!"

"I was beginning to think she'd never fall asleep." Kurt whispered, watching Blaine very carefully get out of Melody's bed without waking her.

"We seriously read the entire The Night Before Christmas book…. I hate that book." Blaine whispered back, inching towards the hallway.

"I think it's a kid thing. I loved it when I was her age too. Now it puts me to sleep." Kurt closed Melody's door.

"I saw." Blaine snickered. "Can I make some hot chocolate?"

"You know you don't have to ask." Kurt met his eyes.

"I know… habit, I guess." Blaine shrugged, going into the kitchen. "Do you want some?"

"Sure." Kurt nodded. "Uhm, are you tired?"

"Not really. I slept in super late today. I guess I was exhausted from finals." Blaine looked thoughtful. "Damn… but why? Are you? You can go to sleep. I can sleep on the couch."

"No. It's not that." Kurt shook his head. "I need to talk to you about something, though."

"Is everything okay?" Blaine asked, putting a mug into the microwave. He turned back, looking Kurt in the eyes. "Is it depression? We can talk about if it you want."

"No! Nothing like that." Kurt shook his head again.

"What is it about then?"

"I haven't told Dad or Carole yet." Kurt moved to the doorway, making sure they weren't in the hall where they could overhear. "One of my professors sent my portfolio to a designer in California. The designer called me a few days ago and offered to sponsor me."

"What exactly does that mean?" Blaine brought his mug over and a hot chocolate package.

"I would move to San Francisco, he would pay for me to finish school there, and I would also be doing a paid internship throughout school."

"Why aren't you bouncing in excitement right now?! That is amazing." Blaine grinned. "Congratulations."

"It's an awesome opportunity but I don't know if I even want to take it." Kurt admitted.

"Why not?" Blaine asked, passing his mug to Kurt so he could have some.

Kurt took a sip and passed it back. "For one, it would be a lot harder to come home and see everyone… I would be there completely alone and thousands away from anyone I know."

"You'd make friends." Blaine said. "Plus, there's phones, Skype…"

"You know it's not really that easy. Sometimes it's a struggle for us to even have mutual times we can talk to one another." Kurt sighed. "Which brings me to something else that makes me not want to accept it… you."

Blaine tilted his head.

"We're in a good place. We've been closer than we have been in a year and you're here." Kurt looked at Blaine anxiously.

"No. You can't turn something like this for me. That is relationship suicide." Blaine stood.

"I'm not saying I'm going to turn it down for you. I'm saying that… soon we'll be back together. In a year and a half, we will both have graduated. We could move back in together and live our lives together." Kurt looked down. "That's more important to me… I already picked Parsons over them once. The only real upside is paid schooling and paid interning."

"I am begging you to not consider me in this decision. Make it around everything else." Blaine pleaded.

"How can you say that when you're the most important person in my life?" Kurt swallowed, eyes filling with unshed tears. "All I want is to be with you. You don't want to live in California. I don't want to live where you're not going to eventually be."

"No, no, no." Blaine swiftly went to him, pulling him out of the chair and hugging him.

"If you tell me—if you're positive—then I'll say no." Kurt pulled back.

"Tell you what?" Blaine looked confused.

"That we can do this. Right here and right now. That we can be us again." Kurt looked him in the eyes. "There's not going to be this picture perfect moment for us to do this, okay? But that's okay because the moment will be perfect anyway because it's you and it's me. That's all we need and I promise I will never, ever break your heart again. You are so special to me and these last months have been miserable, but it will never happen again. All I want—all I need— is you. Forever. With Me."

Blaine crashed his lips against Kurt's, pulling him close.

Kurt moaned into the kiss, hands tangling in Blaine's curls.

"Don't go." Blaine pulled back. "Don't go. Stay with me."

"Okay." Kurt nodded breathlessly, pulling Blaine into another kiss.

"I love you so much, Kurt." Blaine pulled back. "I need you."

"I need you." Kurt rose his hand, touching Blaine's cheek. "And I want you and I love you and I can't imagine life without you and—."

"My English degree is crying right now." Blaine panted a bit. "I might be about to cry too for unrelated reasons."

Long Time Coming

Blaine woke up the next morning, in nothing but his boxers and Kurt's warm chest to his back.

He could tell Kurt was still asleep by the slow, even breaths he used to hear when he was the first to wake up—which happened often.

Blaine relaxed against Kurt, letting out a content sigh.

All was right in the world. He was back with Kurt, they would only be four hours apart, he was back together with Kurt, it was winter break, he was back together with Kurt, and he still had at least a full month to spend with Kurt. Who he was back together with.

At least David seemed to have warmed up to the idea by bringing him the night before—and honestly, he'd never be more thankful for that gesture because now everything was back on track. Blaine and Kurt could move on with their lives again, finish school, get married, have children, and have their happily ever.

Kurt whimpered a bit and then repositioned his arms around Blaine before sighing.

"Good morning." Blaine whispered, quiet enough that if Kurt was not already awake that it would not wake him up.

"G'morning." Kurt mumbled sleepily, kissing the back of Blaine's shoulder. "What time is it?"

Blaine turned his hand, looking at his Fitbit. "Nine."

"They let us sleep in. It's good because I think we finally wore ourselves out at two." Kurt yawned, arms tightening around Blaine.

"We had several months to catch up on." Blaine grinned.

"I don't think we've ever had that much sex at once…" Kurt mumbled thoughtfully before sitting up.

"You're beautiful." Blaine whispered, looking up at him.

Kurt smiled and leaned down, kissing Blaine gently. "You're beautiful."

Blaine smiled once more and sat up. "You're still okay with this, right?"

Kurt rolled his eyes and kissed his forehead. "Yes. Are you?"

"Yes." Blaine's smiled widened, his hazel eyes unusually bright. "I love you."

"I love you too." Kurt's smile grew as well. "I'm so happy."

"Me too." Blaine leaned over, pulling Kurt into a hug. "I just want to lay with you all day and do nothing but look at you, touch you, talk to you…"

"Unfortunately, it's December 23rd and you haven't finished your Christmas shopping. I refuse to let you be that person who supports making retail workers have to work on Christmas Eve." Kurt said.

"I'm totally that guy, though." Blaine groaned, falling back onto the bed. "I'm always so busy."

"I know." Kurt smiled, patting his leg.

"Even when I'm a lawyer I'll be busy. You'll be at home with the kids and I'll be scrambling to get last minute gifts I forgot to get around work." Blaine joked.

"Maybe you'll be awesome enough to have an intern that can do it for you?" Kurt questioned, still smiling.

"If you don't want kids until we're fifty maybe." Blaine smiled back.

Kurt squeezed his leg fondly and then moved to lay next to him. "What now? Who do we tell?"

"We can keep it to ourselves for a while or we can go ahead and tell people. I don't mind either way." Blaine shrugged.

"What about… David?" Kurt asked.

"After he talked to you in your apartment, he's been very… mellow about the whole thing." Blaine looked at Kurt. "Why? Have you seen him anymore?"

"Once but he was being called in to work after an explosion somewhere, so it was literally just a wave from him and then he was gone." Kurt said.

"It's so weird to think of him running off to help with something like that." Blaine said thoughtfully. "I mean, he's terrified of frogs but this time last week he was seeing a guy who had a massive hole where his nose was supposed to be."

"Frogs?" Kurt questioned.

"Terrified. If he can't get away from them, he'll have a panic attack." Blaine shrugged. "Don't worry about David, though. He's an ass and once he's over it, he's over it. We've argued enough that I know."

"You've argued with him?" Kurt looked surprised.

"We all three go through phases where we're annoyed with one another." Blaine shrugged again. "It usually ends in a yelling match, someone storming off, and later that night we make up… but it's usually David and Wes bickering."

"I can see that." Kurt nodded.

"Don't worry about it, though. He's probably fine with it and if he isn't he'll have to pretend to be until he is as far as I'm concerned." Blaine smiled sweetly.

Kurt jumped when his bedroom door opened.

"Booooys!" Melody squealed.

"Oh my God." Kurt groaned, getting up. "DAD!"

"Melody, come down here!" Burt yelled from downstairs.

Melody hopped onto the bed as Kurt got off it, tugging his pants on. "Why didn't you have pants on, Kurt?"

"I was hot." Kurt picked her up.

"Blaine, Kurt's got a battle wound because he got into a fight with a pirate." Melody chirped, touching the scar on Kurt's chest.

"Oh? Who told you that?" Blaine asked, pulling his own pants on.

"Finn." Melody traced the scar.

"Oh, God. That feels weird, Melody." Kurt put her on the bed and shuddered a bit.

Melody cackled before running off.

Blaine looked as Kurt shuddered again. "You okay?"

"Yeah." Kurt pulled on a Parson's sweatshirt. "So… Dad?"

"Yes?" Burt walked in.

Kurt jumped and gave him a glare. "What were you doing?"

"Melody was talking about you boys being naked up here." Burt chuckled.

"So you wanted to come look?" Blaine raised his eyebrow.

"We weren't naked. We were shirtless." Kurt responded and then looked at Blaine, who shrugged. "Dad, we've got something to tell you…"

"You're back together?!" Burt exclaimed before Kurt could even finish. "CAROLE, THEY'RE BACK TOGETHER!"

"That's nice, dear! Now leave them alone!" Carole called and then added, "Congratulations!"

"All you have to say is 'congratulations'?" Burt left the room. "Did you hear me properly? I said Kurt and Blaine are back together! We need to save for the wedding!"

"It's time to go shopping. We'll get breakfast on the way." Kurt grabbed his shoes.

"Wait, aren't we going to…" Blaine began.

"Hurry before they pull out a cake or something." Kurt hissed. "It's too early in the morning for this. And then they'll call my grandparents and—come on, we've got to get out of here or they'll never let us leave."

"It won't take me all day to get Christmas presents." Blaine pointed out.

Kurt mumbled something.

"What?"

"I haven't done my shopping yet either." Kurt glared. "Are you happy?"

"I'm not going to let you be one of those late shoppers. Those people are horrible." Blaine mimicked, walking out of the bedroom and towards the stairs.

"I've been busy too, you know?" Kurt shook his head and sighed, following him

"No excuse, Kurt. You are the very person you dislike." Blaine turned and smiled sweetly at him.

"Oh, just go down the stairs." Kurt pulled his keys out of his sweatshirt pocket as they made it to the kitchen.

"I'm so happy for both of you!" Carole walked over to them, hugging them both.

"We're getting out of here before Dad can keep us. We're going to finish shopping. Need anything?" Kurt asked, grabbing his wallet.

"No, we're good for presents. Your grandparents will be here this afternoon, though, so try to not be out too long, okay?" Carole smiled at him.

Kurt smiled back. "Okay."

Carole gave Blaine an extra hug. "I'm so happy you're spending Christmas with us. Holidays aren't the same without you, hon."

"I feel the same way. I think I was moping so much they really kicked me out." Blaine laughed and hugged her back.

"You boys. I'm so happy for you." Carole grabbed Kurt's hand and squeezed it. "Enjoy your day out, okay? I'll try to keep your father from buying party streamers."

Kurt looked up as they heard Burt coming downstairs. "Gotta go, bye!"

Carole laughed as Kurt all but dragged Blaine out of the house.

"I almost don't want to go back home." Kurt admitted several hours later as they sat in an ice cream shop. Because of course Blaine wanted ice cream when it was snowing outside two days before Christmas.

"Why not?" Blaine asked, scooting as close as he could without literally sitting on Kurt. After all, they were back together and he just wanted to be at Kurt's side for forever. Long enough to make up for time they'd lost.

"My whole family is already there. I love them but I really just want to spend the day with you."

Blaine smiled brightly and kissed him. "We will still be spending the day together."

"Yeah but also with a million other people."

"Four extra people than usual." Blaine's smile grew. "We can share, right?"

Kurt smiled and nodded. "If we have to."

Blaine patted his leg and took another lick from his ice cream. "At least we're alone here."

"Because it's a borderline blizzard outside." Kurt laughed. "What did you expect?"

"I haven't found any good ice cream shops in Cambridge. This one is very highly rated on Trip Advisor." Blaine retorted.

"Since when are you a pro on Trip Advisor?" Kurt arched his eyebrow.

"I told you about the Italy trip, right?" Blaine asked. "Alex and Mia are paying but I'm trying to find the cheapest possible flights there. Cheap for flying all the way to Italy, that is."

"Ah." Kurt nodded. "That's a good reason to use Trip Advisor."

"Yeah but then I started looking for stuff to do in and around Cambridge and New York and home, obviously." Blaine looked down, embarrassed. "I am talking way too much about this."

Kurt leaned over, kissing him. "I love you."

"I love you too." Blaine smiled. "We really should head back home though. We have all the presents and I got a winter storm watch alert on my phone courteous of the Weather Channel App."

"If we must." Kurt smiled back.

"Can we take the scenic route though? Trip Advisor says it's an hour longer. An hour and a half longer if we get lost." Blaine stood.

"We have to talk about your internet usage, sweetie. I know we're adults now but you're not that old." Kurt took Blaine's extended hand and stood before waving goodbye to the ice cream shop attendant.

"Or we could take a detour or drive around the next three counties and then back." Blaine continued animatedly as they walked to Kurt's Navigator.

Kurt laughed and unlocked the doors.

"We could even go to the aquarium." Blaine got in the passenger seat.

Kurt leaned over, kissing him promptly.

"Mmh. This is an effective way to stall." Blaine mumbled into his lips. "Did you know there's a cave…?"

"Blaine!" Kurt laughed into the kiss and pulled back. "Are we going to kiss or not?"

"Sure but if I forget to tell you about this cave, you'll be sorry."

"I probably won't." Kurt sang before pressing their lips together.

"Let's sneak out." Kurt whispered, creeping up behind Blaine who had been chatting with Kurt's aunts about a vacation he took to Paris when he was like ten around Christmas time.

The conversation had just ended so he figured it was as good of time as any to attempt to steal Blaine away. After all, Blaine was his boyfriend and honestly, he wasn't sure he would have spent enough time with Blaine if they were together 24/7 until school started back.

"Do what?" Blaine responded in a normal tone of voice, gaining Taylor and Paige's attention.

"If you're gonna do it, better go fast." Paige said. "Otherwise you'll have to wait until b-e-d t-i-m-e."

"I know how to spell bed time." Melody, who was doing a puzzle with them, pouted. "I know my plusses and minuses too."

"I barely know mine." Taylor snorted.

"Kurt, Momma said you would stay home tonight." Melody pouted even more, hopping up and practically bouncing onto the couch. She stood, using Blaine's shoulder to balance her, and made her eyes as big as she could.

"Don't even. I haven't seen Blaine in forever." Kurt pulled her into his arms.

"You haven't seen me in forever either." Melody pointed out.

"We spent all day together yesterday before you got in bed." Kurt mimicked her whine. "And all day the day before."

"But you live next door to him." Melody dramatically threw her head back.

"I do not live next door to him." Blaine commented, reaching over and flipping her hair. "We live in separate states."

"Sharing is caring." Melody retorted. "You two spend all your time together every time you're home. Hannah says her brothers don't spend as much time alone and her brothers don't kiss."

Paige, who had been taking a drink of coffee, dropped her mug and it shattered. "Godfreakingdarnit!"

"Nice rated PG swearing there, dear." Taylor got up to get some towels.

"Bailey says boys don't kiss boys." Melody added. "But I told her that my brothers are both boys and they kiss."

"Here goes date night." Kurt sighed as Burt walked in behind Taylor.

Sure, they'd known this was going to happen eventually… but at the exact moment they were trying to get some time to themselves? Being a big brother apparently had a few down sides to it.

"What's the issue, Mel?" Burt asked, coming into the living room and sitting on the couch next to her and Blaine.

"Hannah says brothers don't kiss and Bailey says boys don't kiss boys." Melody said. "Also, Kurt and Blaine are trying to leave without me again."

"Hon, we have told you that Kurt and Blaine aren't brothers." Carole said patiently, coming into the room.

"But they're my brothers." Melody protested, looking at Burt. "Daddy said so."

Burt looked stumped there. Melody had always been under the assumption Blaine was her brother—and honestly, he was as much her brother as Kurt and Finn. He'd been there from the beginning.

"Sweetie… You know that Kurt had another Mommy and Finn had another Daddy." Carole said gently.

"So?."

"Well Blaine had another Mommy and Daddy."

Melody tilted her head, a blank expression on her face.

"Kurt and Blaine are like me and Daddy. They love each other but in a different kind of way than you love them." Carole attempted to explain. "Finn and Kurt are your brothers by blood because you came from Daddy and Mommy."

"Kurt and Blaine are going to get married? And I can be a flower girl again?" Melody asked.

"Well that's up to them." Burt chuckled.

"So why is Blaine my brother if he didn't come from Mommy or Daddy?" Melody asked, looking pointedly at Kurt.

"Because I love Kurt very much." Blaine said.

"And because if we do get married, he will legally be your brother too… and he'll be my husband." Kurt added, although he had no idea what he was supposed to say to a five-year-old. There hadn't been a gay handbook mapping out how to explain gay relationships to sisters I first grade.

"Okay so why do you kiss? Brothers don't kiss." Melody repeated.

"Because Finn is my brother. Blaine is my boyfriend."

"Blaine isn't my brother but he's my boyfriend? Ew!" Melody scrunched her face up and stuck out her tongue. "I don't want Blaine to be my boyfriend!"

"Okay, kid. Look at it this way." Burt tried to take over. "When Mommy and Daddy got married, we didn't have the same last name. That happens after the wedding. When Finn married Rachel, she had a different last name but now they have the same name and she's your sister now. It will be the same when Blaine and Kurt get married."

"Blaine will be my sister?!"

"Excuse me, Burt. This talk was going somewhat well until you got involved." Paige said, moving in front of him and sitting on the floor in front of Melody. "Sweetie, come here."

"Blaine can't be my sister. Blaine's a boy!" Melody crawled into her lap.

"I know this is confusing to explain so it's even harder to understand." Paige said. "Kurt and Finn are your brothers. Blaine is Kurt's boyfriend."

"What's that?"

"You have a boyfriend before you get married to someone. Your mommy and daddy dated before they got married. And then they had you." Paige explained. "But you don't always have to be a woman or a man to date or to marry. Some girls marry boys, some girls marry girls, and some boys marry boys after they've dated for a very long time. Kurt dates Blaine… if they get married he'll be your brother too. I married Aunt Taylor so she's your aunt too."

"Why do some girls marry boys and some marry girls?" Melody questioned.

"Not everyone is the same. I could never like a boy, so I married a girl. Kurt doesn't like girls, so he's dating Blaine." Paige explained. "There's not really a rhyme or reason to it. You love who you love."

"The most important part, though, is that Blaine's still like a brother to you. Families come in all different shapes and sizes and sometimes people who don't share your parents can be closer to you than the people that do." Taylor added.

"I'd be very sad if you didn't call me your brother anymore." Blaine pouted a bit. "Because I think you're the best little sister in the whole wide world."

"But you're definitely not a girl?" Melody asked, looking at him.

"Absolutely not. Just a boy that likes boys." Blaine shrugged.

"How did this even come about?" Carole asked.

"She was trying to guilt Blaine and I into not sneaking out." Kurt sighed.

"She gets the manipulative tendencies from Burt." Paige snorted. "It was pretty scary, actually. I saw my childhood flashing before me."

Burt shook his head as Carole laughed. "Mel, how about we let the boys go out tonight? Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we'll have all day with them."

"Can I show Blaine that I can read?" Melody asked eagerly, bouncing. "And can I show Kurt my drawings of dresses?"

"If you let them have some alone time tonight, I'm sure they'll let you show them whatever you want tomorrow." Carole promised.

"Drawings of dresses?" Kurt asked, his heart melting. "We could look—ow!"

Blaine smiled sheepishly after elbowing Kurt's arm.

"Tomorrow. We'd love to see them tomorrow." Kurt finished, going to hug Melody. "I love you."

"I love you too, Kurt!" Melody giggled. "Are you two gonna go kiss?"

"Maybe. I do like to kiss him." Kurt smiled.

Melody moved towards Blaine, hugging him. "I'm glad you're my special brother."

"I'm gladder you're my special sister." Blaine ruffled her hair and kissed her cheek.

"Honey, I think Grammy wanted some help making brownies. Should we help her?" Carole asked, smiling.

"Okay!" Melody skipped off towards the kitchen.

"Thank you." Kurt whispered loudly before grabbing Blaine's hand. "Come on, I've got my wallet."

"Let me get mine." Blaine said, trying to free his hand.

"No. Come on." Kurt smiled. "We'll be back and we'll be safe!"

Everyone in the room said bye as they walked out.

"I can't believe Melody started all of that because she didn't want us to leave." Kurt said as he turned onto a busy street several minutes later.

"Oh, I can. She's definitely more like you than she is like Finn." Blaine, who had no idea where they were going and didn't really care because he was alone with Kurt, smiled.

"What is that supposed to mean, Blaine Anderson?" Kurt scoffed.

"You have been known to say some outlandish stuff to get your way is all I'm saying." Blaine held up his hands in defense and laughed.

"I am highly offended that you would say that!" Kurt looked at Blaine at a stop light.

"Come on." Blaine rolled his eyes, still smiling. "She's turning in to you. Burt told me earlier today that you acted the exact same way… and I can totally see it now a bit too."

Kurt turned his attention back to the road when the light turned green, shaking his head.

"It's cute." Blaine looked at him fondly.

"Cute. She stumped six adults." Kurt scoffed.

"You walk into a room and stump people all of the time. Not in the same way but you've always drawled attention to yourself." Blaine pointed out.

Kurt sputtered, unable to come up with a good reaction to that statement.

"Plus, it's got to be confusing for her. She has new friends and they've all been exposed to different things. Before she went to school she probably thought nothing of it and now she's probably realizing we're not normal… and that, yeah, brothers don't really kiss."

"Well I guess we should have gotten married before she started elementary school. That discussion would have gone a lot easier." Kurt joked, turning his car into a packed parking lot in downtime Lima.

"Oh, yeah. Totally." Blaine said sarcastically, not even having realized. "We had money for that two years ago. I cry a little inside when I tip at restaurants because I have so little money and you're living off credit cards."

"I don't entirely live off credit cards. I got a partial scholarship and I have some grant money, actually." Kurt retorted. "Plus, you could inherit millions."

"Yes, well when that happens, then I won't cry inside when I tip the pizza delivery man." Blaine snorted. "Hey, where are we?"

Kurt got out of the car without a word, going over to open the door for Blaine. "I don't know why I never thought of this. I have a feeling you'll like this, though."

"What is this?" Blaine questioned.

"This," Kurt closed Blaine's car door after he was out of the car. "Is the Lima Christmas Tree Festival. They have it every year. It's not extravagant by any means but it's kind of cute. It's got little shops—booths, really—where you can get stuff. There's food activities. They tried a petting zoo one year but that didn't go too well. Farmer lost a finger."

Blaine couldn't help but laugh, getting weird looks from an older couple walking up in front of them.

"There's usually around 100 trees. Some years they get up to 8,000 visitors which is ridiculous because it's Lima." Kurt whispered, linking hands with Blaine. "They're usually only open until 5 but they're doing it later today. After this we can do whatever you want. I just thought you might like to see it."

"This building is awesome. I've driven past this place so many times and never ever realized how cool it was." Blaine squeezed Kurt's hand, walking into the building.

There were children running around, parents either talking with friends or anxiously looking for their kids. People were eating and chatting, looking at the items at several booths, and of course crowding around Christmas trees. And that was just in the entrance.

"Seeing this many people in one place in Lima is very weird." Kurt smiled, watching Blaine's eyes light up at how many trees there were when they made it to a hallway. He knew Blaine had never had festive Christmases as a child and tried to take Blaine somewhere very Christmas-y every year to make up for some of the stolen memories.

"They're so cute. It's so cool that you give a city one theme and you get so many interpretations." Blaine said, leaning over to kiss Kurt's cheek. He then pulled back a bit and looked into Kurt's eyes. "What was it like to go places like this when you were a kid? Did you come here every year?"

Kurt gave him a sad smile. "This wasn't really my kind of thing. I'm more hands on, so Taylor and Paige would do the cookie thing with me because Dad's not great at it. We'd all help decorate Grammy's house and the tree outside. And we'd stay through New Year's."

"That sounds nice." Blaine said.

"It was." Kurt nodded.

"But you did stuff like this? Going places? Seeing lights and stuff?" Blaine asked.

"Yeah until I was like twelve. By that point, I really just wanted bake and learn to cook the food." Kurt admitted. "They're taking Melody to see the lights tomorrow night if you want to go."

"I'd rather spend Christmas Eve with you." Blaine met his eyes.

Kurt leaned forward, kissing Blaine. He didn't think about being out in Lima and how people here tended to not be accepting. He didn't think about anything except for needing to kiss Blaine right then and there.

Blaine kissed back, wrapping his arms around Kurt.

They didn't pull apart until someone with kids cleared their throats.

"Uhm, sorry." Blaine mumbled, grabbing Kurt's hand and leading him out of the building.

"We didn't have to leave." Kurt said. "The wife clearly thought it was cute."

Blaine shot him a look and then leaned forward. "I would much rather relieve some, uhm, tension in the back of your car if you get what I'm saying."

Kurt grinned and innocently asked, "What are you asking, Blaine Anderson?"

Blaine opened the back door to Kurt's Lincoln Navigator and gave him a look.

Kurt grinned again and got in the car, laying on his back. "You better hurry up because you know how I feel about fooling around in public spaces."

"You say that yet it's so easy to convince you otherwise." Blaine hurried in after him and closed the door.

"Thank God for tinted windows." Kurt said breathlessly when Blaine unbuttoned his pants. "I went back and forth between getting them or not but I was sixteen and not having sex, so—."

"Kurt, just shut up and kiss me."

Long Time Coming

When Kurt woke up on Christmas Eve, Blaine was laying on the floor on his stomach and staring at his laptop.

"Mmmh, there's a desk." Kurt mumbled sleepily, looking over the end of the bed at Blaine.

"I didn't want to wake you up." Blaine looked up.

"With the desk?" Kurt looked amused.

"This just felt like the best option, I guess." Blaine shrugged.

"Where's Winnie?"

"Oh, Wes' little sister is watching her. By watching her, I mean she took her hostage. Wes promised she'd be fed." Blaine laughed a bit. "Why are you up so early?"

"Why are you?" Kurt countered.

"I usually head to campus around now. I've got a really early class." Blaine closed his laptop and got into the bed next to Kurt. "We should, uh, talk."

"About what?" Kurt sat up, looking anxious.

"California." Blaine cleared his throat a bit. "And you, uhm… turning that down. I know what I said but I don't want you to turn that down because of me. It's a very good opportunity for you…"

"It is a good opportunity." Kurt agreed and rolled on his side, looking into Blaine's hazel eyes. "But Parsons is a good opportunity. While no designers have offered this… I've got professors looking out for me. I'll have other opportunities in New York."

"Did you do a pros and cons list?"

Kurt couldn't help but smile at Blaine. "If I say yes, will you feel better?"

"Maybe." Blaine smiled back. "I just know when I first got to UK, I had second thoughts… about not doing UCLA."

"We have been apart long enough. Also, I'm not just starting undergrad… I've got four semesters at Parsons. I'm already done with one. And honestly, if I wasn't being offered paid schooling I would never really consider moving to California for this designer. He's good but… but there are other designers I'd much rather start with." Kurt said gently, pushing some of Blaine's curls out of his eyes. "And the added bonus of being four hours away from you cancels out paid schooling."

Blaine's smile grew.

"I'm so happy we're back together." Kurt looked him in the eyes.

"I am too." Blaine touched Kurt's cheek. "You make my life so much better in every single way… you make everything worth it. Thinking of the future… getting married, having kids, you with an awesome career…"

"I can't wait to see you as a father." Kurt whispered. "I just know that you'll be perfect."

Blaine smiled again.

"Really. I see how you are with Melody and… I just know you'll be such a good dad. I know you worry sometimes but you really will be perfect."

Blaine laughed a bit and then snuggled up to him.

"I love you so much." Kurt whispered, arms going around Blaine's thin waist. He kissed the back of Blaine's shoulder. "And I'm never, ever going to let you go again. I promise."

"I love you too." Blaine whispered back, placing his hand over Kurt's arm.

"I'm so sorry for everything. I know we said we didn't want to dwell on it or bring it up but… I really am sorry I didn't fight harder before giving up."

"I'm sorry I didn't fight harder to keep you from giving up… and I'm sorry for how I did the whole thing. Sometimes I'm just nervous about change and it… makes me weird. I build stuff up in my head and convince myself the wrong idea is the right idea." Blaine rolled over, facing Kurt.

"I understand." Kurt smiled a bit and touched his cheek.

"You really are the most beautiful person I've ever seen." Blaine nuzzled Kurt's shoulder.

Kurt rolled his eyes and hugged Blaine.

"No. I'm so lucky to have you. And obviously you're lucky to have me."

Kurt teasingly pushed Blaine away, laughing loudly.

Blaine grinned.

"You've spent too much time with Wes. That's not good." Kurt pulled Blaine back to him.

"Oh, it's great. If only David lived there with us, it'd be so awesome. The ultimate grad school experience." Blaine laughed, snuggling back up to Kurt.

"I think David's experience is a bit different from what you and Wes are doing."

"Pfft. Saving lives, wasting mine away reading. What difference is there really, Kurt?" Blaine asked.

Kurt kissed his cheek and sighed contently.

"I expected this Christmas to be so sad and I think it's my favorite one yet." Blaine nuzzled Kurt's shoulder. "So thank you."

"We haven't decorated anything… We haven't made cookies… I haven't even made potato candy." Kurt pointed out. "How is this your favorite one?"

"I've got to spend the most time with you." Baine nuzzled him again. "Usually you're running around helping cook and Finn and Burt and I are occupying Melody or some variation of that… but we've spent so much time together since I got here the other night. We've barely been apart. And that's made it perfect."

"Well you do know Christmas isn't even until tomorrow… I guess you'll have to stay by my side when I make the potato candy." Kurt said.

Blaine sat up, mouth wide.

"I don't have to worry. I know you don't have the patience to make it yourself." Kurt grinned.

"Can we go and make it now? How long does it have to stay in the fridge?" Blaine leaned off the bed, reaching for his pajama pants.

"Don't you dare, Blaine Anderson." Kurt pulled him back, a smirk on his face. "We're the only ones awake and I'd like to take advantage of that by re-re-reacquainting myself with your body. If that's okay with you, that is."

"Oh really?" Blaine grinned, climbing under the covers. "I'm okay with that."

"Hello, booooys." The bedroom door opened and Melody came in, hair a mess and a stuffed bear in one hand.

"Daaaad!" Kurt called as Blaine buried his face under Kurt's pillow. "This isn't funny!"

"I tried to wake Momma and Daddy up but Daddy said to go bug you two because you're probably up to no good. Then he fell back asleep. Also, Grandpa is snoring really loudly and it sounds like a pig. OINK OINK." Melody clambered onto the bed.

Kurt groaned and pulled on his t-shirt.

"Also I stopped up the toilet. Can you fix it?"

Kurt covered his face.

"Please? Daddy said if I did it again, I couldn't get my own toilet paper. And I didn't mean to drop Lucy in there."

"Blaine, can you do it?" Kurt whined. "I have an aversion to poop."

"We have not been re-dating long enough to unclog your sister's poop." Blaine's voice was muffled but Kurt knew exactly what he was saying.

Kurt heaved a big sigh and crawled out of bed. "Melody, I swear, if you don't quit using a whole roll of toilet paper I'm going to flush Lucy down the toilet myself."

"Daddy was right." Melody curled up by Blaine. "Kurt is grumpy in the mornings."

"Mhmm." Blaine cuddled her. "Did you really stop up the toilet, Melody?"

"No." Melody giggled. "I just wanted to be in the middle."

Kurt came back into the room, glaring at her. "That's not funny, Melody."

"As someone who can appreciate being in the middle of a cuddle puddle, I must disagree, Kurt." Blaine chirped.

"What cuddle puddles have you been in?" Kurt asked, climbing back into bed.

"What do you think David, Wes, and I do when we have sleepovers in winter and it's freezing? I'm told it's completely normal." Blaine winked. "Regretting it yet, Kurt?"

"Rotten." Kurt pulled the comforter over him. "You're both rotten."

Melody giggled and high fived Blaine.

"Alright!" Blaine laughed. "I'm rubbing off on you at least a bit."
