Recap

Last time on Tales of Tamers Xilla: The double round are about to end with the final match between Takato and Rika vs Hiro and Zoey, Rika reveals why she is at odds with Zoey. While Hiro and Zoey think about their old friends. The match soon starts as Takato and Hiro face off. It became a battle of speed whith Hiro having the advantage. But it was until Takato unleash the power of the Shunko technique that he was able to win in the end. Mean while Rika was facing Zoey, trying to hold on through Zoey Brutal attacks. Lucky Rika was able to renew her resolve and over power Zoey winning the match. With this they can now move on to the singles round of the tournament.

Chapter 24

Maiden fall

Normal PoV: "That was most impressive." Cinder said as they watch the end of the match. "Yes, father Cornwell told me the artes users of Spyros were powerful." Tristen said. "Speaking of artes users, anyone know where Sinclair is at?" Mercury ask as he kick his feet up. "He is currently with Adam, preparing the white fang for the attack for when it time. We all have our parts to play, and we need to play ours." Cinder said. "Oh you mean finding the rest of the Fall Maiden so you can claim the rest of her power for yourself?" Angela ask. "Yes, once I have it Beacon will burn. For now let set the stage, Mercury my friend it time your you to play your part." Cinder said as she show him who he will be facing. He grins with joy. "Now this will be fun, Emerald let give them one hell of a show." He said. "Oh and it will be on they will never forget." She said with a smirk. Takato PoV: After winning our match against Hiro and Zoey, the later saying she'll beat Rika next time, head back to Beacon to rest. Right now, the two of us were walking around the school.

"Well Goggle head, we made it to the singles round." Rika said. "That we did love, question is which of us are going to compete in it?" I ask. "You can do it, I got to kick Zoey ass so I'm good. Plus, Someone need to be free to pick up Hikari from My sisters when Yang match end." She said. "Yeah,, I wonder who I would be facing in the finals." I said as we soon came to some vending machines. There we saw Coco of Team Cfvy. She was leaning against it drinking a cup of coffee. She look at us. 'Sup, Goggles little red." She said greeting us. "Hey Coco." I said. "Hell of a match you two gave everyone." She said. "Thanks, wish you won, I wouldn't mind going up against you." Rika said as she got a drink from the machine. "Same little red, your pretty strong." Coco said. She then sigh. "I wish I could have figure out what the hell happen in my match." She said. "What you mean?" I ask. She took off her sunglasses. "It started out ok, Yasu was handling Mercury when that bitch Emerald pull me into the forest. When I got my bearings, I couldn't find her. That when I ran into Yasu, were about to find Emerald when I heard he was taken out." She said.

"That made me think, if Yasu was knock out then who was with me? Then I got blind sighted by Emerald and lost." She said as she crush her empty cup and toss it. "Well don't let one loss put you down Coco. Just get back on your feet and keep moving forward." I said. She chuckles and put her sunglasses on. "Your a real sweet hart Goggles, little red got lucky with you. You kind of remind me of my little Sister." She said. "Your sister?' Rika ask. "Yeah, her name Kokoro, she the nicest girl you will ever meet, most of all when it comes to kids. Anyway I got to get back to my team. Hope you kids win the tournament." She said as she walks away. "Ruby was right, she is cool." i said. "That she is, but what she said about her match have me worry." Rika said. 'Me too." I said. "Think something is going on?" Moeru Ryu ask. Yes I can't put my finger on it. "Ah there you two are." A voice said. We look to see Prof. Goodwitch. "Oh, you need something Prof.?" Rika ask. "Yes, Prof. Ozpin would like a word with you. Follow me please." She said as we follow her to Ozpin office. Once there, we saw the headmaster with Ludger, General Ironwood and Qrow.

I look over to Ludger. "Where Elle?" I ask. 'With Hiro and Zoey, she got worried when she heard Zoey was hurt and went to see her." He said. Rika turn to Ozpin. "You wanted to see us Sir?" She ask. 'Yes, we'll begin once were all here." He said as Pyrrha came in. She saw us. "Takato, Tika what are you doing here?" She ask. "That what we want to know." I said. We all look to Ozpin. "I will explain, but first tell me what is your favorite fairy tale?" He ask. Our favorite fairy tale? 'It would be the tale of the four maidens." Pyrrha said. 'Mine too, mother told me it when I was a kid." Rika said. "What are the four maidens?" I ask. Pyrrha turn to us. "The story goes like this, deep in the forest of Remnant beside a great and mighty river stood a small fragile home of a cold, frail man, a lone wizard. The wizard hardly had visitors, but on this day, he peered out his window, his gaze fell open to a younger maiden calmy sitting beneath his tree." Pyrrha said.

"She was in a state of absolute peace, when the wizard demanded an explanation, the maiden simply replied, "My name is winter, I am on a journey and I am waiting for my sisters." With that she close her eyes and sat in silence. The wizard told himself the girl was a fool, but the longer she sat, the more he wished to share the peace and quiet the young maiden enjoy. In time he grew tired and decided to close his eyes as well, thinking on the strange situation. Upon opening them, the wizard was confuse to find that a second maiden appear beneath his tree, cheerful and joyful with a basket of fruit and flowers. When he ask for an explanation, the girl simply replied :My name is Spring, I am on a journey an I am waiting for my sisters." To show her gratitude for being on his land, the girl took some seeds from her basket and planted them in the wizard garden. The old wizard could hardly believe his eyes as the maiden turn what was once a mire pile of dirt and manure into a beautiful garden for which life would surely blossom." She said.

"It likely he would gaze for hours, it not for the unfamiliar laugher he heard from beneath his tree. A young woman with a warm smile now stood beside the 2 maidens. The wizard beg her to introduce herself to which she answer "My name is Summer, I am on a journey and I am waiting for my sister." Of course, thought the wizard. But another chirp of laugher let the old man puzzle. What in the world was so funny as it turn out it was him. The new arrival found the wizard case of staying in doors rather funny. "Why choose to see the world through a small window when the door leading out to it was right as his side?" Summer ask. It was a powerful argument and after only a moment of brief hesitation, the wizard left his home and stepped outside. The warmth of the sun brought a burst of energy and life, and soon the wizard was not feeling like himself anymore. He was feeling much wizard and the maidens laughed and played all day. Growing plants, making charms and fixing the old man roof. " Pyrrha contuie.

"As the day drew to a close, the maidens and the wizard prepare a feast. Winter set the table, Spring suppled the crops. Summer prepare the meal and the wizard was the happiest he been in ages. But in all of the excitement he nearly failed to notice the deliciated woman that now stood beneath his tree. He smile and beaconed her to join them, only asking for her name. "My name is autumn." She replied. "I am on a journey and I am here to meet my sisters, who are you?" She ask. me, the wizard wonder. "Well, I am the old man that have live in these woods alone for centuries and I am afraid my story is not very interesting. As I have no one to live and nothing to my name." He said. The eldest sister look up at all that surrounded them. "But sir, you have so much." She said. It was true, with their help it was now clear t see the wizard had every thing he could ever needed. He was grateful." Pyrrha said.

"Why me, why did the four of you chose to open my eyes, to share with me your giftd. Why am I so special?" He ask. The 4 sisters look to one another surprised. Finally the eldest spoke. :I beg your pardon sir, but we did not do these things for you because you were special. We do what we can for every one because we are able." The old wizard was at a lost. Never in all of his years, had he come across a such kindness. It was in that moment that he know what should be done. The wizard summon his magic every once of it and gave it to the sisters. He smile, "Take this gift and now know that you are able to do so much more" Now armed with the elements, the very power of nature and the unimaginable magic of the wizard. The 4 maidens Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn promise to carry onward with their journey using their gift to aid others just as they aid him. One by one the sisters left but before they did, they made one final promise. They promise to return every year to visit their dear friend." Pyrrha said finishing the story.

"As nice of a story that was, what does it have to do with us?" I ask. "What is I were to tell you that the Maidens are real." Ozpin said confusing us. "Wait your saying the maidens are real, sorry I don't buy it. It just a story." Rika said. Renamon soon appear next to her. "Remember Rika, some stories come from real events and people as they are pass down through time. I believe Ozpin isn't lying to us." She said. "What proof do you have that these Maidens even exist?" I ask. Qrow smirk at us. "Glad you ask goggles." He said. He turn to the others. "Shall we show them?" He ask. "Show us what?" Rika ask. Ozpin got up. "Follow us and you will see." He said as we follow them onto the elevator. It went down for a while until it stop and the door open to reveal a large chamber. At the end of it was a 2 pods like machines that were next to each other. We got closer to see a woman was in the right pod. She has dark skin and black hair. Her face was cover in burn scars. "Who is she?" I ask.

"This is Amber, the current Fall Maiden." Ozpin said. "You see children, were apart of a cabal that duty is to protect the Maidens." Goodwitch said. "To keep their powers out of the wrong hands." Ironwood said. I turn to Ludger. "And how long did you know about this?" I ask. "Ozpin brought me onboard after the breach, Since Spyros is new to the rest of the world, he decided to trust me with this." He said. "What happen to her?" Pyrrha ask. "About a year ago, Amber was attack, who ever did it try to take the Fall Maiden power from her. I was able to stop him, but half of Amber power was taken." Qrow said. "So, a Maiden power can be taken." Renamon said. "Yes and no, you see only women can become a Maiden. When one dies, the last woman they think of will become the power new vessel." Ozpin said. "And Amber is dying. I can feel it her soul is fading." I said. "Yes, the machine she in is cutting edge of Atlas tech. It keeping her alive, but it won't forever." Ironwood said. "We'll need to transfer the power and soon." Goodwitch said.

"Transfer?" I ask. "Yes, the machine has another purpose. It can transfer Amber aura with her power to another." Ironwood said. "But from what we know about aura is that it comes form our souls. To move it you'll have to force Amber soul into someone else's body!" Rika shout shock. I grab Ozpin and force him to the wall giving him a look of pure fury. "You fucking son of a bitch, you plan to force Amber soul into either Rika or Pyrrha!" I shout. Ozpin sigh. "Yes, but only if they chose to take on the burden." He said as I left him go. "But will it even work, I mean you can't merge two souls together." I said. "Prof, if should one of us accept the burden what would happen?" Pyrrha ask. Once ti finish, you be place in protected custody until you master the power. Afterward you must vanish to keep it safe." Goodwitch said sadly. "Then no deal, I will not abandon my family for some stupid power!" Rika shout. Pyrrha look to be conflcted. "I'm not sure what to do, can I have some time to think about this." She ask.

"Of course, now we like to keep what we spoke about to ourselves." Ozpin said. "Yeah, we'll keep quiet." I said. Damn it to think we'll discover something like this. " This prove there more to Ozpin then we thought." Moeru Ryu said. That when Rika scroll went off as she answer it. "Ruby, this really isn't the best time, woah slow down sis. Wait she was what! Ok calm down were on our way." She said as she hung up. "What wrong?" I ask. "Yang won her match against Mercury, but when it end she attack him and broke his leg. " She said as she then glare at Ironwood. "Then she was arrested by Atlas soldiers." She said. "It my men arrested her, they must have a good reason to do so. Let get to the arena to sort this out." The general said. I put a hand on Rika shoulder to help her relax. "I'm sure this hold thing is one misunderstanding." I said. "I really hope so Takato, I truly do." She said as we make our way to the arena.
