Two weeks have passed by quickly since Estelle had arrived to the Isle of the Lost. Hades had taken her out a few times, trying to teach her on how to steal without getting caught. Today was her first time alone, her nerves were shot, afraid she was going to get caught but then she remembers she is on the isle now. She won't face any punishment like she would have back at home, and she recalls Hades telling her "IF you get caught." Taking a deep breath, she nods her head. "I can do this!" She heads to the busy alleyway that was filled with many people, browsing the many vendors. She had become adjusted to the pungent smell of the isle and even the steam from all the broken pipes throughout the isle no longer bothered her, she uses it to her advantage to be swifter and sneakier when stealing. She walks by one of the broken pipes, while the steam dances with her white locks, swaying all around her face. Her crystal blue eyes lock on a dark blue purse sitting on a vendor table, that there was her target. She looks around to check out her surroundings, seeing that others were busy doing their own thing and not paying any mind to her. She quietly makes her way to the edge of the table, the lady who owned the vendor was distracted with organizing items on her side table with her back facing Estelle. She grabs the purse quickly, but her gaze was on the woman and not on the other items on the table that the bag knocked over causing a loud thud against the wooden table. Her eyes widen to the sound that hits her ears; the woman turns to look at Estelle with a stern look on her old wrinkled faced. Estelle's heart was pounding for that brief moment before she clings the purse to her chest and takes off running. The sound of the woman yelling "GET BACK HERE THIEF!" could be heard over the sounds of the busy alleyway. She kept running, pushing through people, breathing heavily through her mouth. She turns her head to look over her right shoulder to see if she was being followed, but when she does so she runs into something or someone and falls on her backside. Sheer pain courses through her body, her teeth grit together trying to not cry out from the painful sensation. Looking up with angry eyes she saw a girl around her age with deep blue hair, wearing a blue leather dress and black leggings and matching blue leather ankle boots. The girl brushes a lock of her hair over her right shoulder and spoke.
"Look where you're going next time, you almost ruined my outfit."
She said in a smug tone.
Before Estelle could speak, the girl spoke again.
"Wait a minute, you're that prin-."
Estelle cuts her off in a sharp tone that it would slice through the thickest of material.
"Don't ever call me that! The name is Estelle!"
The girl places her hands on her hips and giggles softly to know Estelle spoke to her.
"That's one hell of an attitude you have there Estelle. I'm Evie, the Evil Queens daughter."
Estelle cocks an eyebrow to Evie's introduction. She struggles to get herself back up onto her feet while she tries to talk at the same time.
"As in the whole poison apple ordeal?"
Estelle manages to say while trying to stand back up.
"Exactly, so why were you running?"
Evie asked confused.
Estelle chuckles, swinging the blue purse in front of her to show it off.
"I wasn't so swift as I thought I would be and got caught so I ran away with the purse."
Evie's blue eyes widen, lowering her head a bit while reaching for the purse with both her hands.
"This is so pretty! That's one hell of a steal if I do say so myself."
Evie said, admiring the purse.
Estelle smiles proudly that Evie found her stolen purse pretty, her eyes examined Eve's outfit, reaching with her free hand to touch Evie's shoulder to feel the fabric of her dress.
"I love your dress, where did you get it?"
Evie stood up straight, grabbing the ends of her dress and looks down at it before looking up to Estelle with a smile.
"Oh, you mean this old thing? I made it myself along with many other outfits."
Estelle's eyes light up with joy to know she makes clothes. A bright idea came to her mind and just had to share with Evie.
"How about I give you this purse in exchange for your creative skills in making me an outfit?"
Estelle explained
"Really? I would love to make you an outfit and knowing who you were before the isle, I have so many ideas brewing in my mind."
Evie spoke with excitement.
Estelle blushes, feeling a bit embarrassed figuring out that her whole life has been on display on the news all over the world or at least here on the isle.
Estelle wanted to say, "Thank you." Until Hades's voice came to her mind about not using those words here on the isle. She places her hands on her hips and smiles at Evie.
"Cool! I'm sure you'll create an outfit that will fit my personality."
Estelle said.
"Sure thing, and besides if you keep wearing this- you'll continue to stand out like a sore thumb, and we don't want that now do we?"
Evie replied with some sass.
Estelle looks down at her attire, grabbing the ends of her shirt and stretching the shirt out a bit to examine it even more. She thought she sense of style was in good taste back home, but the isle was her home now and her outfit was not going to help her blend in with the crowd here, so she had to trust Evie on this one.
Estelle looks up back at Evie with an embarrassed smile on her lips, she was about to talk but before she could Evie's gaze went over Estelle's shoulder. Estelle looks over her shoulder to see what or who had grabbed her attention and two boys about their age walks over to them. One wearing a leather outfit with the colors of white, black, and red with hair as white has her own. The other boy was taller with skin slightly darker than them and long brown hair, his leather attire was brown and gold with torn up blue jeans. They both walked past Estelle and go towards Evie, patting her on the shoulder and high fiving her with smiles on their faces.
"Hey Evie, it's about time we found you!"
The boy with the long brown hair spoke.
"Yea, where have you been all afternoon?"
The other boy said.
Evie looks over to me and does a head gesture to get the boys to look at Estelle.
"Found Estelle from Arendelle and I couldn't resist the chance to get to know her, you know?"
Both boys look at Estelle in awe as if they never seen someone from off the isle before, but it wasn't that at all. They were more in awe with the fact that she had murdered people at her young age.
"So, is it true? Did you really…. kill two people back in Arendelle?"
The boy with the white hair spoke a bit nervous.
Estelle was not proud of her actions back home, unfortunately she had to brag about it to survive and fit in with everyone here.
"That's right."
Estelle replied, short and sweet and to the point.
The boy with the long brown hair, looks Estelle up and down, brushing a strand of his hair over his left shoulder. Leaning forward he smiles in a flirting type of way and spoke.
"By the way, the names Jay. It's an honor to meet someone as badass as you and quite attractive if I may add."
Estelle blushes, her gaze looking away from his own not wanting to give him any idea that she was interested. Evie slaps the back of Jay's right arm with a disgusted look on her face.
"Jay! Now is not the right time to be hitting on her. She needs allies to get around the isle in one piece while she is here."
"Yeah, Jay not cool!"
The other boy said in a sarcastic tone.
Jay looks at him annoyed, balling up his fist he lunges forward slightly towards the other boy as a threat, but it came off as playful.
"Shut up Carlos!"
Carlos steps back and chuckles to Jays threat attempt.
Evie rolls her eyes before she snaps at them both.
"Guys! Enough!"
Both stop and look towards Evie.
"I promised to help Estelle with a new outfit, and I need you guys to help us snag a few different fabrics around the isle bizarre area and bring it back to our hide out. Got that?!"
"Sure, thing Evie, count on us."
Jay replied with confidence in his voice.
"What he said."
Carlos says with a half-smile.
Carlos looks to Jay then to Estelle before turning his confused gaze to Evie.
"Wait, what type of fabric and what colors are you looking out for?"
Carlos asked with confusion in his boyish tone of voice.
Evie looks towards Carlos, feeling a bit silly trusting two boys with having a sense of fashion. Rolling her eyes playfully.
"Jay, I want you to focus on finding leather and anything in an…hmm. Icy blue tones. Carlos, I want you to find anything in purple."
Evie says.
"You got it."
Jay responds.
"Purple? But isn't that Mal's color? Wont she get mad that we are helping her get the same color scheme outfits?"
Carlos says with a touch of fear hidden in the back of his tone.
Evie takes a moment to take in what Carlos just said, nodding her head to agree with him.
"No, you're right. We don't want Estelle to clash with Mal's color schemes. Hmm, oh I know. How about a light purple instead? It still purple but it's not the deep purple Mal likes to rock out."
Evie says with a bit of excitement.
"…Right…I'll keep an eye out."
Carlos replies with lack of confidence.
"Estelle and I will focus on accessories and boots for the outfit. So now let's split up and comb the entire isle as much as possible and meet back at out hideout in thirty minutes."
Evie says, looking at everyone.
"Sounds like a plan, let's go Carlos. You head to the north side of the isle; I'll go to the east and south and Evie and Estelle you should take the west side."
"Perfect!"
Evie says.
Everyone takes off into different directions in search of fabrics for Estelle's outfit. Evie and Estelle make it to the west side of the isle in a matter of minutes, searching through tables and vendors that littered the alleyways and open spaces. Evie points to a decent pair of boots that looked like they would fit her, Evie nudges her head towards the man behind the vendor for Estelle to distract. Estelle catches on to what Evie was trying to say without words and walks over to the man to strike up a random conversation about another product on his table. Evie being as quiet as she could sneaks up on the other end of the table and swiftly grabs the boots and walks off. Estelle thanks the man for answering her questions and walks down the alley to catch up with Evie.
"Let me see them?"
Estelle asked Evie as she hands them over to her. Estelle examining the boots to find if they say the size on them with read 6 ½ on the tongue of the boots.
"Wonderful they will fit just fine, maybe a little loose, but they will do."
Estelle says still checking out the boots condition, they were no whereas nice to what she was used to, but she had to remind herself she was living a new lifestyle and had to adjust accordingly.
"Now let's go find some accessories that I can sew into the outfit to make it more you."
Evie says.
They take off down several other alley ways, using their little scheme to distract the vendor while the other one steals the items off the table without being seen. The thirty minutes went back so quickly, thankfully they had a great deal of items they could use for the outfit Evie was to make for Estelle.
"Now let's head to the hideout, I'll need to take your measurements first before I can sketch out an idea for you."
Evie said with content in her voice.
They both track back to the center of the isle where Evie and her gang reside. Evie and Estelle make their way down an alley way that Estelle hasn't been down before. Evie stops by a caged in metal staircase, bending down she picks up a rock, looking up to a sign that states "Watch out for rocks." Evie throws the rock at the sign. The sign pushes back which then makes the cage door lift around the staircase. Evie looks over her right shoulder to Estelle with a smile on her lips.
"This way."
Evie said.
They both climb up the stairs and once at the top Evie opens a door that leads them to a very large open room with little to no walls to divide up the space. There was spray paint artwork on every wall, torn up and worn-out couches and beds at each corner of the room. Each had their own color scheme for each of them. Estelle assumed two of the beds were for Carlos and Jay. The purple and green tones, she assumed was for this so-called Mal girl.
"We're here!"
Evie yells out.
Around the small wall comes out Carlos and Jay. They laugh and smile seeing that Evie and Estelle made it back with good finds on material for Estelle's outfit. They point to a pile of fabrics and other materials that matches Evie's description.
"We found everything we could in the colors you asked for Evie."
Jay spoke with confidence in his tone.
"Great, I'll look through everything after I take Estelle's measurements."
Evie walks over to the pile to place down her finds, Estelle follows behind and drops the remaining loot. Evie goes to her workshop bench that was beaten up and rusty where an old sewing machine sat. It had truly seen better days but as long as it works, that's all that mattered to Estelle. Digging through her stuff she finds a worn-out yellow measuring tape. Turning around, she motions Estelle to come to her.
"Estelle, come over here so I may measure you."
Estelle follows Evie's instructions and walks over to her. Lifting her arms up and out like she would do back at home to get fitted for a new dress. Evie took her time measuring all the areas of Estelle's body to make sure she has everything correct before working on the outfit. The sound of the front door of their room opens and slams close, Estelle looks over her shoulder in that direction to see this Mal girl that leads this group of villain kids.
"What's up Mal!"
Jay spoke loud with excitement in his voice.
"What took you so long?"
Carlos spoke.
"My bad guys, I ran into Uma and her regret pirate crew on my way back here."
"Pirates?"
Estelle though to herself, were they the same pirate kids she saw at the Chip and Fish shop, with Hades a few weeks back?
Mal looks over to see Evie was working on Estelle, her green eyes lock onto Estelle's blue eyes. Narrowing her eyes in an annoyed manner, she crosses her arms and spoke.
"And who is this and why Is she here at our hideout?"
Mal snaps with a sharp tone. Evie places the measuring tape down and writes the measurements down on an old piece of paper. Estelle continues to glare at Mal, looking her up and down, dark purple shoulder length hair, green eyes, full lips, her leather attire outfit was cool looking with all the purples and green tones complimenting each other but the expression on her face was not sitting well with Estelle.
"This is Estelle, the former pri-uh…"
Carlos spoke but cuts himself off when he was about to say Estelle's former royal title.
"She's Queen Elsa's daughter from Arendelle."
Jay responded to help Carlos.
Mal looks at them both, still having an annoyed expression on her face.
"She was all over the news a few weeks ago. She murdered two people, and she is only a year older than us."
Carlos spoke, the sound of intimidation could be heard in his voice.
"Yeah, she is a total badass!"
Jay follows behind Carlos's comment.
Mal rolls her green eyes growing even more annoyed.
"Whoop-dee-doo, she killed a few people with her fancy magic, who cares! When we escape this isle, I'll be just as vicious and cruel like my mother, and I'll kill even more people than this failed princess!"
Mal snaps with a nasty tone, over exaggerating the word princess.
Estelle narrows her eyes', sensing Mal was jealous that her gang was bragging about her. Clenching her fits to the word 'Princess'. The sensation of coldness could be lightly felt in the palm of her hands, her eyes widen a bit, releasing her clinch fist to get rid of it.
"You might want to overemphasize the word 'when' there Mal. It's not like the barrier is coming down anytime soon and magic doesn't work here so you're stuck here! Until then I still have a two-body count more than you!"
Estelle claps back, matching Mal's attitude.
Mal lowers her arms from her chest and lowers them at her sides, clenching her fist ready to fight. Both Carlos and Jay lift their hands up in front of Mal to keep her put.
"How about we take this outside princess, let's see who's the strongest.!"
Mal barks out in anger.
Estelle turns to fully face Mal, lifting her arms up, ready to take her down.
"Bring it on wannabe! You're just jealous that I'm eviler than you'll ever dream of being!"
Estelle laughs at Mal, who tries to push and shove through Carlos and Jay's hold.
Evie rushes over to Mal, feeling annoyed that the situation escalated this far. Evie leans her face to Mal's ear and whispers.
"Calm down Mal, she's right you know! She could be great addition to our gang, it's better to have her on our side before Uma and her pirates recruit her. She has a body count and none of us do. It's wise we keep her close to us. Can you suck it up and tolerate her for now?"
Evie says with seriousness in her voice.
Mal groans in frustration under her breath, pushing the boys off of her to show she will accept what Evie had just told her.
"Fine, she can stay- but if she crosses me one more time. It's over, got it!"
Mal barks out, Estelle barely able to hear their conversation.
"Good, now I'm going to get back to my end of the deal with Estelle."
Evie said.
"What deal did you make with her?"
Mal demanded to know.
Evie brushes a few strands of her blue hair over her left shoulder, a sassy smile forms on her face.
"Oh, just a simple outfit is all. Nothing I can't handle."
Mal rolls her eyes and turns around to head back out into the streets.
"Whatever Evie, do what you want to do. I'll come back when little miss failed princess is gone."
Mal spoke with an annoyed tone.
Estelle snickers, placing her hands on her hips.
"And the almighty Maleficent's daughter walks away with her tail between her legs…How pathetic."
Estelle says loud enough for Mal to hear.
Male froze right at the door, biting her bottom lip, turning around her gaze when to Evie. Having that "you better do something with her, or I will." Look on her face. Evie returns s softer expression to mal and turns towards Estelle.
"We can do without the rude comment Estelle! If you want me to work on your outfit, I need you to tone It down!"
Evie said firmly.
Estelle chuckles, running the tip of her tongue against her top teeth.
"Fine!"
Estelle simply says back.
Mal groans in frustration to the entire situation before leaving the group to deal with Estelle. The boys look to one another before looking towards Evie.
"Um, we are going to head out too. Going to see what trouble we can get into... The day is still young."
Jay says with a chuckle, grabbing Carlos's shoulder in the process.
"See you guys later then."
Evie replied.
The boys look to Estelle with half smiles, feeling slightly awkward and intimidating.
"Catch you later Estelle?"
Carlos asked
Estelle looks towards them, forcing a smile on her lips.
"Sure thing!"
The boys nod their head and make their way out of the hideout and back out on the streets to cause more mayhem.
Evie walks over to her bed where a sketch book was lying on her nicely made bed. Sitting down, she opens the book to the last page and with her right hand begins to sketch quietly. Estelle watches Evie for a moment, she decided to walk over to her and sit down next to her and watch her draw out the idea she had in mind for her outfit.
"So, I was thinking a short leather jacket with an off the shoulder shirt underneath with…um what was that giant snowman your mother made when she was young?"
Evie asked feeling confused.
Estelle cocks a brow, also confused on why Evie was even asking about that monster her mother made at her age.
"You mean, Marshmallow?"
Estelle replied in a confused tone.
"Yes! I want to add him to the shirt as a symbol to your rage and powers. I want to design you a pair of jean shorts with fish nets and knee-high boots. I think you'll pull off that look so well with your level of confidence."
Evie spoke while she kept sketching, it didn't take her long to get a rough draft of her idea on to paper. She lifts the sketch book up out from her at arm's length and examined the design for a second.
"It's done, now time to gather up the material to start piecing it together."
Both Evie and Estelle get up from the bed and walk over to the pile of random items they had gathered and dig through it all. Grabbing fabric after fabric for each piece of her outfit.
"I'm going to start on the jacket first."
Evie said while holding all the items she needed for the jacket. She walks over to the sewing bench and sits down, turning on the machine she begins the process. Estelle sat on the floor in front of the pile of items and continues to admire the material of each fabric and small accessory that had collected. Nothing from this pile could ever compare to the finest materials and fabrics she grew up wearing but she needed to force herself to let that go and focus on her present and future here on the isle. She can never go back home to Arendelle. It was no longer her home. An hour had passed, and Evie was finished with the jacket. Turning around in her chair she shows it off. It was an icy blue leather jacket that looked like it would come to her rip cage. The shoulders had metal studs and snowflakes sewn into the fabric. The zippers on the jacket had snowflakes hanging from them. There were pockets on each side and random zippers that weren't even pockets just there for style.
"Well, come on now try it on."
Evie says, shaking the jacket at Estelle to get up and wear it.
Estelle smiles softly, getting onto her feet she walks over and slips the jacket on. It fit her perfectly, she was amazed on how Evie was able to make this with such little material and with a busted sewing machine.
"It fits like a glove! It's amazing Evie."
Estelle said with awe in her voice.
Evie smiles back at her, lifting herself back onto her feet. She walks back over to the pile and digs around to gather more items.
"Now time for the shirt and the shorts. Here we go, these fabrics should work great together."
Evie takes her items and repeats her process. Another hour had passed, and she was finished with both items. Turning yet again in her chair to face Estelle she pushes Estelle to change into them right there for her to see how she looked in them. At first Estelle felt shy changing in front of someone else, more so someone she just met that same day but, she did what was asked of her and changed.
The top was a black off the right shoulder tank top with the other strap hanging on her left shoulder. Marshmallow roaring on the shirt was an awesome touch to the outfit. Under the top was a light purple fishnet sleeveless top that covered her naked right shoulder. Both tops rests perfectly under her belly button. The shorts were of an icy blue tone with patches of frosty purple with zippers in the middle with snowflakes. Estelle was about to place the leather jacket back on when she saw there was writing on the back saying. "Let the storm rage on." In frosty purple. She looks up at Evie and smiles even more. It was nice to be accepted for who she truly way and didn't have to act like someone else.
"This is so cool Evie! All these little touches are so perfect."
Estelle says still admiring the jacket.
"Not a problem girl, I got you. Now let's work on those accessories."
Evie grabbed a belt from the pile and the boots, handing the boots to Estelle along with some paint and brushes.
"Here help me with it, creating your own outfit will make you appreciate what you have more."
Evie says before sitting down on her bench again.
Estelle smiles and nods her head.
"Sure, I would love to."
Evie paints the belt a frosty purple, adding studs and snowflakes. Estelle paints the boots an icy blue tone with the soles of the boots being frosty purple, the buckles and laces she painted purple and added snowflakes to the buckles and zippers.
Evie quickly grabbed more fabric to make Estelle some fingerless gloves that were frosty purple with studs on the knuckles. Everything was finally finished. Estelle places on purple thigh high fish net stockings before the boots and added the belt and gloves on. She walks over to the busted mirror and admires all of Evie's hard work.
"Wow, I look…"
Estelle says but was cut off by Evie.
"You look like a badass! "
Both giggle to each other, Evie looks up at Estelle's hair, grabbing a strand of it.
"Now all you have left is to get your hair done. We have enough material and fabric that you can trade it off to Lady Tremaine for a color."
Evie said.
Estelle looks to Evie then to the pile of remaining fabric and materials.
"Are you sure you won't be needing any more of it for yourself?"
Estelle asked feeling a little bad for taking it all for herself.
"Not at all, we gathered all these things for you after all. So go and use it. Create the new you, create the isle version of Estelle."
Evie said with kindness in her voice.
Estelle didn't think she would ever find someone so nice and caring on the isle, it was nice to have someone her own age she can talk to and even maybe be friends with. Nodding her head, she smiles at her.
"Alright, I'll do it."
Estelle said with excitement.
Evie looks at her clock on the wall and saw that it was almost midnight.
"Well, you're in luck, the salon will open any minute now. Best you get down there quick so you can be the first one there."
Evie spoke.
"Gotcha, I'll head down there now then…Um... Thanks again for doing all this for me Evie."
Estelle said, knowing very well saying please and thank you was not considered cool on the isle.
Evie simple smiles back.
"You're welcome, Estelle."
They both pack up the remaining items into a bag and Estelle was off to head towards the salon. She gave Evie a quick side hug before making her way down the stairs and down the many alleyways towards the "Curl up and dye" shop.
Estelle pants softly once she reached the entrance of the shop, placing her left hand on her knee to try and catch her breath. Standing up straight she walks inside and there, Lady Tremaine and a young girl stood waiting on clients to come inside.
"Welcome, welcome my dear. What can I do for you today?"
Lady Tremaine spoke, opening her arms out wide as she welcomes Estelle.
Estelle places the bag of fabric and materials down in front of Lady Tremaine and opens it up for her to examine.
"I have all these nice fabrics and materials in exchange for a dye."
Lady Tremaine looks at Estelle for a moment before leaning down and with her index finger and thumb, picks up a few items here and there in the bag. She seemed satisfied with what she saw in the bag. Standing up right she looks to Estelle and motions her to sit down at a salon chair.
"What color are you looking to have done?"
Lady Tremaine asked.
"I was hoping for frosty purple roots and icy blue for the rest, and I would like a style that makes me look intimidating and fiery."
Estelle had asked hoping it was something she could do.
"I have the perfect hairstyle that will fit your ideas and fit your face as well."
Lady Tremaine had spoken.
"Wonderful!"
Estelle said, feeling a bit nervous since she has had her natural hair color her entire life. Lady Tremaine left to go grab everything she needs and comes back shortly. Wearing gloves, Lady Tremaine begins to apply the colors to Estelle's hair. Her heart was racing in her chest, knowing she was destroying the old Estelle and creating the new and improved version of Estelle of the isle. She had a new reputation to uphold now, and she couldn't let anyone see any of her weaknesses or vulnerability. An hour or so had gone by quickly, Lady Tremaine washes Estelle's hair and begins to blow dry it out and styling it with thick braids on each side of her head, volumizing the center top of her head into a high ponytail and having the ends of the braids loose hair and makes it flow all together like an icy mane behind her. Lady Tremaine shows her the new look in a small mirror. Estelle almost didn't recognize herself, she was taken back for a moment, taking in everything about the new look. Smiling softly, she looks to Lady Tremaine, handing her back the small mirror.
"It looks great!"
Estelle said with surprise in her voice.
"Come back anytime dear."
Lady Tremaine said, walking away from Estelle, snapping her fingers to the child.
"Clean it up, now!"
The little girl quickly goes to grab the broom and dustpan from the corner. Estelle figured that was her time to head out now. Standing up from the salon chair she makes her way out of the salon, a sinister grin forming on her face, the new Estelle was finally awake and it was time for her to take control of this new life of hers and own it!
