Chapter 2

The subway's doors slide open when it came to a stop. The underground was bust with people going through each other to get to the door in time before the doors decided to close once again, leaving people stranded until another car comes along. It was near Christmas, a few weeks a most. Jane had no intention of celebrating with her family this year. She had lost her brother Tommy a few years ago from a car crash. They had ruled it out as an accident since, he was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. She shivered at the moment she saw Tommy's body in the morgue. Pike had just done the autopsy and had shooed her out. He was ordered to do it because, they thought he was high with drugs. They came up empty after so many times of testing and re-testing. There was no point in doing it to upset the family anymore. They closed the case a year later and noting was said about it. Jane still feels like it was her fault but her mother ensured her it was not. He was just at a bad place at the wrong time short of thing. Jane just had nodded.

The Italian women shivered when the breeze of the colder air hit her face as she arrived in south Boston. Her uncurly kept hair was blowing all over her face as she tried to shield the harsh wind and snow with her scarf. She was going to get a good butt kicking when she comes home. She could hear her mother now. 'JANE CLEMENTINE RIZZOLI! WHY ARE YOU OUT IN THIS ZERO BELOW WEATHER!' She chuckled softly as she walked up onto her steps of her childhood home. She smiled at the memories that where playing in her head. Jane soon opened the door and lets it shut behind her, leaving the cold outside and welcoming the warmth into her body from the fireplace. She smiled as she takes off her scarf and heavy sweatshirt as she made her way into the kitchen where her mother was. Angela looked up as she herd footsteps and smiled brightly. She had been cooking some warm bread for the stubborn Rizzoli knowing she had not eating anything all day. Jane knew about this as she intently sat down at the island in the middle of the kitchen. She yawned softly as Angela places a few pieces of toast and butter in front of her daughter and a cup of hot coco.

"Thank you Ma." Jane said hoarsely as she takes a sip.

Angela nodded and smiled.

"Anything for my eldest." She chuckled as Jane rolled her eyes. She takes a bite of toast and spreads some butter on the other half.

"Janie," Angela started as she paused. She chews her lower lip. Jane eyed her.

"Yes Ma?"

"Well, I, Um was wondering..." She trailed off as she played with the apron she had on.

"Go on?" She said as she continued to eat her toast.

"Well, Me and Vince were wondering, if well, you wanted to be the ring barron for our wedding?"

Jane almost choked on her food. She forgotten that her supervisor and her mother were getting married. She sighed as she pinched the bridge of her noise.

"You still know this is so weird for me right?"

Angela nodded.

"But, I respect your wishes ma. Sure." She gave her mother her famous Rizzoli smiled. Angela squealed as she ran over to Jane and hugs her. Jane shrugged her off.

"NO HUGS!" She yelled as Angela went to make the call. Jane chuckled as she finished her food and headed off to bed for the next day.
