Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.

The Perussi slowly snapped at Gaete while tossing wreckage around. Gaete blinked and looked down at the armor encasing him.

"Do you have any idea how this thing works?" Gaete asked before rolling to the side. Wreckage flew over his head. It seemed almost in slow motion for him and Rex.

"How many times do you think I've bonded with humans?" Rex questioned Gaete. He watched as the human launched an awkward kick.

If it wasn't for the massive strength throwing the creature into wreckage? Rex would assume that it hadn't done anything.

"I don't know!" Gaete yelled before the Perussi snapped its tongue at Gaete. He backpedaled from the tongue which ripped through the wreckage at him. "I don't exactly know what the hell this thing is!" Gaete hissed at Rex while trying to smack its tongue away.

He knew for a fact that its tongue was dangerous. If that was capable of burning through wood? Gaete didn't think even the armor he wore would stop it.

Gaete sighed and continued to stay out of the creature's reach. He knew for a fact that keeping his distance would help.

"It isn't exactly like this is a common occurrence…" Rex stated before letting out a sigh. He had no intention to die.

But he also didn't want Gaete to end up dead. Humans were prey for the Perussi… Then again? So was anything and everything. Rex would hate himself if he let the kid die so easily.

"They have a lot of nerves in those tongues, kid." Rex put in as Gate deflected a thrown piece of rubble. Gaete looked at the hulking beast.

"Your sure?" Gaete questioned while Rex nodded. Gaete turned just as the Perussi growled. It launched its plasma covered tongue at Gaete.

Gaete raised his armored foot and smashed it down. The Perussi screamed in rage as saliva and plasma spilled out. It burned wood and made Gaete leapt back.

"Well, that hurt the blasted thing." Rex said before Gaete quickly backpedaled. "We need to take it out before it gets angry." Rex added as Gaete turned to him.

"Should I even point out how ticked it is now?!" Gaete asked while Rex hummed. the Perussi snapped it's jaws hungrily at Gaete. Plasma and juices spilled from its gaping maw.

"Yeah, well that means it got hurt bad." Rex said with a smirk. "Heh, I think you can kill it." Rex stated while Gaete tried to lift a piece of wreckage to block its tongue.

He easily hoisted the wreckage up and over his head. It took Gaete a few seconds as he took a few steps back.

"Oy, you need to kick the training wheels off or its going to gut you." Rex joked at Gaete. The human amused him even in moments where he could be killed. "Smash it's skull in, kid." Rex put in before Gaete finally tossed the wreckage.

It smashed into the Perussi and splintered against the thick armor. The creature hissed before snarling and running off. Rex and Gaete watched as the creature yipped.

"Should I take that as a good sign or bad one?" Gaete questioned and looked at the rubble. He sighed upon realizing that the wreckage meant he no longer had a place to live.

"Well considering I haven't seen one run off so easily?" Rex asked his newfound friend. "I'd say that counts as a victory… Uh, sorry about your home." Rex stated and watched Gaete sigh.

"Screw it, there's not much I can do anyway." Gaete said, part of him wanted to blame Rex. Gaete reasoned that away by Rex at least wanting him to live. "What should we do now?" Gaete asked and crossed his arms. He was surprised when the armor vanished in a flash of orange light.

Rex blinked and looked at Gaete who seemed to sport a pair of orange sunglasses. He blinked and slowly pulled them off with a shock. They had an orange dragon along the side.

"Uh… Rex?" Gaete asked as Rex looked over at the glasses with shock. "Are these… You?" Gaete questioned while Rex looked over the glasses. His expression a look that differed between shock and amusement.

"I… Can't believe it." Rex said before blinking as Gaete put the glasses back on. "Kid, you and I seem like we're on a journey now. I've never seen one of my kind bonds with a human. I have to find one of my people and find out more. Plus? We got to stop that thing before it calls more. One Perussi is dangerous. A few dozen or so all at once? I doubt those things will stop at just hunting my people if you want my honest opinion." Rex added and the duo turned to the wreckage.

"Yeah, least figure out what that armor was." Gaete put in and started walking.

He wanted to repair the damage, but he didn't have the money. Plus? Wasn't like he had anything else to do.
