Summary/disclaimer: Time for another Chapter of Virtual Virtues. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own KLK, Trigger and a few others do.
Rex looked at the human he had sensed. Gaete looked at the woman who had massive eyebrows. Her frown seemed to envelope everything around her.
In contrast to Gaete's simpler look? Gaete could see that the woman Rex pointed out wore something more… Regal.
The woman wore a White and Blue sailor like uniform with a sweeping collar reminiscent of a military officer. Golden trim adorned the shoulder epaulets. Rex looked at a trio of clasps on a metal band the woman had on her left shoulder.
"That uniform she's wearing has a lot of power." Rex stated which made Gaete turn to him with a raised eyebrow.
"The girl with the schoolgirl clothes is the girl you sensed?" Gaete asked with a raised eyebrow. "You sure you didn't…" Gaete added which made Rex growl in annoyance.
"Do not think I'm being perverse." Rex growled with annoyance in his tone. "Smartass. I'm talking about the fact that she has a very… Warrior like aura personality. She's a shark in an ocean of minnows." Rex added and closed his eyes.
"That is the weirdest way of phrasing that, Rex." Gaete said with a raised eyebrow. "Besides, what do you want me to do? I already sound like a freak or so." Gaete muttered which made Rex raise eyebrow and rolled his eyes.
"Let me talk, just say hi or something." Rex stated as he sniffed the air. "What the…. Kid, I smell blood." Rex added before a roar which shook the market place.
It made him and Gaete look at the noise to see the Perussi from before. What Gaete didn't know was the figures standing behind them.
They looked like machine-like snakes that stood on spider like legs. Their skulls were hidden behind mask like helmets that glowed a dark purple. They held rifle like weapons and looked like super soldiers from a sci fi movie.
More Perussi appeared as well, screeching which drove people into a panic. They sniffed the air.
"Crap, they want revenge…" Rex stated while Gaete turned to look at the woman. She seemed unafraid of the creatures. "She's not afraid?" Rex added with a grin before Gaete rolled his eyes.
"Do you even know how to get that armored form back?" Gaete questioned while the pack of armored warriors opened fire. "Rex, we aren't going to last if you can't…" Gaete put in as the Perussi leapt down, their tongues sweeping back and forth.
They started to close in on the woman and Gaete. Rex hummed and faded back into Gaete's body.
"I might be able to do it one time… But I can't say for the future." Rex said while focusing his energy.
The soldier like aliens dropped down as well. The woman raised an eyebrow at them as she rolled her eyes.
"Rex…" Gaete stated while the Perussi also began to circle him. he could see the wounded one growl at him. "Anytime you want to turn into that other form." Gaete stated as he turned to the side. The Perussi growled and scraped their claws along the pavement.
The girl looked at Gaete before she was cut off by a growl as one of the Perussi leapt at her.
"LOOK OUT!" Gaete yelled before the woman simply turned, the Perussi leapt past her only for the woman to kick it. The Perussi smashed into a phone booth, spraying glass and metal everywhere.
"Holy crap…" Gaete and Rex muttered at the same time as Rex looked at Gaete. "I like her… Nobody has every hurt a Perussi like that." Rex added before Gaete glowed orange.
His glasses split open as the armor from before emerged. It rapidly encased his body as his helmet formed out of the lenses. The woman looked at Gaete in shock before humming and turning back to the Perussi.
"How the hell did you do that?" Gaete questioned as the Perussi screeched.
"I don't know, but we can work on it for later." Rex stated before they turned to the woman.
"Lady, these things want to butcher you…" Gaete put in as he turned to look at the creatures around him. "And unless you can kill them? I'd run… I'm not even sure I can handle these guys." Gaete stated while assessing the situation.
"Your familiar with these creatures?" The woman questioned as Rex rolled his eyes.
"Tell her yes, I am." Rex put in as the woman rolled her eyes.
"I can hear your pet just fine." The woman said before turning back to the creatures. "I do not require your assistance." The woman added as Gaete chuckled while Rex raised an eyebrow with annoyance.
"Pet?" Rex said with annoyance before growling. "Bah, human… Mop up the Perussi. We can talk to the woman after we're done with these guys. Lady? I'd watch the ones with guns, there the standards soldiers of their empire. They don't screw around." Rex added while the Perussi started to circle them like wolves.
"You know, we should probably exchange names." Gaete stated while Rex only rolled his eyes.
"Focus on fighting first, kid." Rex said before one of the Perussi leapt at him. Gaete jumped backwards over the creature and then turned to look at it. "These things can still kill both of us." Rex added while he cracked his neck.
"Like the one we already defeated." Gaete muttered and rolled his eyes under his armor as he turned to the side. "We can do this." Gaete stated to his friend.
He ducked under the tongue of another one of the Perussi while backhanding the creature backwards.
"There not as cocky as you are being right now." Rex responded as the Perussi growled and lashed out.
Gaete watched as one of the Perussi lashed out at him. The woman easily dodged one of the Perussi which made the woman dodge. She moved like she was dancing on ice.
"Who the hell is she?" Gaete stated and was sent flying by one of the armored soldiers. Gaete howled in pain.
"Smooth move, kid." Rex put in as Gaete sighed and slowly picked himself up off the ground. "Keep your head in the game or their going to be picking pieces of you off the damn pavement." Rex hissed while keeping his gaze on the woman.
Rex hummed and decided to turn his attention to the woman. He knew for a fact that she was not a normal human.
He was confirmed on this when the suit she wore started to shift.
"I'm sure we can do this if we keep fighting." Rex stated while he and Gaete continued to fight the Perussi.
Rex cracked his neck.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that Gaete and Satsuki were targeted by the Perussi and I will show Ragyo soon. Next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show Gaete and Satsuki fighting the Perussi and Gaete getting used to his powers and such.
P.S: Next chapter will be 1200 words or so soon and chapters will hopefully be 1500 or so words soon.
