Janto high school AU
"Spin the bottle is a bit 5th grade, don't you think?" Owen asked.
Gwen laughed. "Come on it'll be fun," she said. She raised her beer bottle and hiccupped. "We have an empty bottle."
Before Tosh, Owen or Ianto said anything more Gwen called out "Hey Jack!" The three of them looked behind them. Ianto wondered how he could have missed the senior being right behind them. "Spin the bottle?"
"Alright," Jack said casually. The five of them found a secluded spot and sat down in a circle. Owen grumbled about missing out on the real fun but they ignored him and Gwen put the bottle between them.
"Ready?" she asked but didn't wait for an answer before spinning it. It landed on Owen and they leaned over and kissed each other. Tosh looked away.
Owen spun next and got Tosh. The kiss didn't last long but Tosh was beaming after, especially after getting him again during her turn. Then Gwen announced it was Ianto's turn and Ianto spun the bottle.
He hadn't expected the bottle to land on Jack, he hadn't even considered it even though he realized that it was about a one in four chance assuming the bottle hadn't landed on himself.
Its just a game of spin the bottle, Ianto thought as he leaned forward. Like mistletoe, kissing under it doesn't have to mean anything. Its just something people do. Jack was a friend at most. Someone Ianto helped with his homework and he would graduate before all of them anyway.
Their faces were just inches apart and Ianto wasn't sure who kissed who. Jack's lips were soft against his and he smelled amazing. The kiss was wonderful but far too short. Ianto wasn't about to admit it, especially not during spin the bottle, but he wouldn't mind Jack kissing him again.
I'm thinking in American high school terms, probably because I don't have the first clue how they do things in Wales. I think it goes Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior. Gosh, I never should have tried this AU.
