Brittany's Point of View

Mal and Evie came into our dorm room with Mal looking more frusterated than I have ever seen her.

"What's up?" I asked. "Mal has a date." Evie smirked. "No way! With Ben?" I laughed. "Yes!" Mal huffed. "Well what's the problem?" I asked. "I... I've never been on a date." Mal admitted. "Don't worry. We'll fix you right up. Won't we Brittany?" Evie smiled. "You know we will." I encouraged. Evie started selecting Mal's make up while I looked in Mal's dresser. I picked out a purple and black dress, a black jacket, and a green tie. I tossed them at Mal.

"Put these on." I ordered. She went behind the changing screen.

"That will look great. What do you think for the hair?" Evie asked. "Maybe just leave it down and have a small braid off to the side." I suggested. "I like that." Evie agreed. Mal came out from behind the curtain and sat down on her bed. Evie started applying make up while I did her hair.

"Okay. Easy on the blush. I don't want to scare him away. Not that I care." Mal laughed. "Please. My mom taught me how to apply blush since before I could talk. Always use upward strokes." Evie said. "My mom was never really big on make up tips, and I never knew had a sister. I finished with Mal's hair and watched Evie work her magic.

"Well now you have two of them. We're going to need all the family we can get to pull this off and my mother's not a barrel of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White." Evie said. "Are you afraid of her?" Mal asked. "Sometimes. Are you afraid of your mom?" Evie wondered. "I just really want her to be proud of me. She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her. And she- yeah, she's my mom, so I know... she loves me... in her own way." Mal sighed. Evie held Mals hand.

"How do I look?" Mal asked. "Yeah, come see." Evie smiled, pulling Mal to the mirror. Mal was shocked.

"I know." Evie smiled. "I look..." Mal stuttered. "Say it." Evie encouraged. "Not hideous." Mal laughed. "Not even close" Evie agreed. Mal continued to look at herself in the mirror until there was a knock at the door. Ben stood there speechless with a helmet under each arm.

"For the first time I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful." He said at last. Mal scoffed.

"I hope you like bikes." Ben said. Mal went out the door, giving us a worried look without Ben seeing as she left. Evie shut the door behind her.

"So what do we do now?" I asked. "I have an idea. How about we have a girls day. We could invite Lonnie and go shopping." Evie suggested. "How about Jordan too?" I asked. "Of course!" Evie smiled. "You get Lonnie, I'll get Jordan, we'll meet in front of the school." I decided. Evie and I ran out of the room excitedly, eager for our day of shopping with friends.
