I love Janto: yep. Ianto isn't a state to accept comfort but Jack will let him know he's there for him.
sd4ianto: yeah, sorry. I didn't want to end up trying to do a whole story so I just did the aftermath.
Last one for Torchwood Fic Week. There was no prompt this time. The prompt last time was aliens made them do it.
Ianto laid his head on Jack's shoulders. The TARDIS wasn't far away and the two of them sat on a rock in the Boeshane Peninsula and watched the sun set. The chillness of the night surprised Ianto. He had left his jacket and waistcoat on the TARDIS before joining Jack. Jack had been unusually quiet during this whole trip.
"Do you miss them?" Ianto asked. Jack nodded and didn't need to ask who Ianto was referring to.
"I can't see my family again. After my mother found out that I couldn't bring Grey back..." It would have caused a paradox. If he went back and managed to save Grey and his father then he would have never gone back to save them in the first place. "Well things were never the same. She would have loved you."
Ianto blinked in surprise. Then he felt his face grow hot. Jack gazed at him fondly. "Err, she would have?"
"Yeah. Well what mother wouldn't love you?" He wished so badly that he could have introduced Ianto to his parents and his brother. Perhaps Grey would have loved him too. But even if he could change things he wouldn't risk it. He kissed the top of Ianto's head and took his hand. He intertwined their fingers and looked back at the sunset. They'd leave soon, for now he wanted to enjoy this moment.
I'm not happy with the title but nothing better came to mind.
