I love Janto: it all feels like extra time to him right now. UNIT personal are too loyal, even with how cute Ianto is.
"Gwen its my turn to cook," Rhys said. Gwen kissed the corner of his lips. She put her hands on his chest.
"I know I've been driving you mad with Torchwood lately but I'm going to make it up to you," she said. "Sit down and have a beer. There's this new recipe I've been wanting to try out."
With Gwen looking at Rhys the way she was now, he found his argument dying on his tongue. "Alright. But next Valentines day I'm taking you to a nice restaurant."
"That sounds lovely." Seconds later she was shooing him out of the kitchen.
As Valentines day came closer Ianto thought about whether or not he should get Jack a present. It was silly really. They weren't a couple. They weren't anything really, expect for maybe friends with benefits but even that title didn't suit them somehow. Jack certainly wouldn't be expecting a present because they weren't a couple. They weren't anything.
Ianto picked up a box of chocolates. He reasoned that he could always eat the chocolates himself. There was nothing wrong with treating yourself with a valentine was there? Problem was that he knew that he wasn't picking it up to treat himself.
On Valentines day Jack showed up with a box of chocolates and flowers. It stuck Ianto that the flowers weren't roses and he didn't know how he felt about that. He knew the meanings behind each flower but he didn't know if Jack did. He didn't know if Jack cared what the meanings were. Perhaps Jack had been trying to be original. Ianto would consider that Jack had picked flowers out of people's yards if it wasn't for the small logo on the bouquet.
An iris, a sunflower, a pink carnation, an orchid, a lily, a tulip, a hydrangea and a jasmine. Also a few wild flowers. Ianto wondered why Jack had felt the need to get flowers. But he didn't ask, he pulled Jack into his apartment instead.
Ianto managed to find a vase (it had been a gift from a relative and Ianto realized that he had almost forgotten that he had a vase). He gave Jack the box of chocolates and they settled in to watch Ianto's James Bond DVDs.
Owen swore when he nearly knocked over the bottle of wine. "Sorry Tosh."
Tosh smiled. "Its fine. It'll take a lot more than that to ruin this evening. How about I pour the wine?"
Owen smiled and relaxed into his seat. "Go ahead."
I bought a doughnut yesterday so I could eat it for breakfast today.
Google romantic flowers, there's a website that lists 15 of them. I felt like having Jack surprise Ianto with a bouquet but I didn't feel like it should be a dozen roses and I don't know why.
