(Hige)
Hige had made it to another alleyway after the pain in his head had gone away; at least for now anyway.
He couldn't tell where he was at this point. He was too dizzy to figure it out.
Using the wall to support him, he stumbled through it. But the pain in his head struck again, making his face contort from the pain.
"Damn it! What the hell is going on?!" he moaned, gripping his hair.
From the corner of his eyes, a camera was on the wall; it watched his every move.
His saw double when he looked over at it. Fear overwhelmed him when he realized what kind of camera it was; a security camera.
He sprinted as fast as he could to get away from it, but there was one camera after another with every corner he turned. It was a bare eye that never looked away from him.
He wasn't able to take it anymore and he let out a loud and distressed scream that turned into a howl, which echoed through the alleyways of the city.
(Luna, Tsume, Kiba)
Luna, Tsume, and Kiba had gotten inside from the back door like those boys said. The coast had been cleared from any soldiers.
They were now walking down a long corridor; their footsteps were the only sounds as they walked.
Tsume got an uncomfortable feeling, which didn't go unnoticed. "Tsume? You're feeling that right?" Luna asked, looking up at him.
"Yeah, but... I know we've been to places like this many times but... we've never felt this kind of danger lingering in the air before," Tsume answered, holding his mates' hand.
Kiba cracked a smile and laughed a bit. "What are you laughing at?" Tsume asked.
"I didn't think you'd complain like this before," Kiba answered.
"Well, its natural under the circumstances, Kiba," Luna said, squeezing Tsume's hand.
"You can always go back to the others," Tsume tells her, sensing that she was a bit uncomfortable. He could understand because they hadn't seen Sky in a while and they were getting worried about her.
"You're right. I could. But I have faith that Hige and Toboe are taking care of Sky," Luna said, heaving a sigh.
But they didn't know what was happening with the others. They kept walking for another few minutes before a familiar scent came.
Luna sniffed the air and shivers went up her spine. "Do you guys smell that?" she said, catching the scent of flowers.
"Yeah, I do too," Tsume answered, catching the scent as well.
Suddenly, a wall appeared out of nowhere, and it seperated Luna and Tsume from Kiba.
Kiba ran over to his side of the wall and started to pound it with his fists. "Tsume! Luna!" he shouted.
"Kiba! Can you hear us?" Tsume shouted, but got no answer.
"Shit... looks like we gotta keep going without him," Luna said, rubbing the wall with her hands.
"You're right. There's nothing we can do to move it. At least we're going to the same place," Tsume said, pulling Luna gently away from the wall.
They walked on as wolves. They kept going down this corridor. "There's one thing we know for sure though," Luna said, sniffing the air. The scent of flowers was getting stronger.
"Yeah, there's flowers up ahead," Tsume agreed.
(Toboe and Sky)
Toboe and Sky had made it to a higher point so they could see where they were. "I can't see anything from here. Can you, Uncle Toboe?" Sky asked, feeling a bit nervous.
"No. I can't. Come on," Toboe said, shaking his head. He grabbed Sky's small hand and they moved on along the pillar.
They make it to another area and Toboe sees Quent lounging on a bench that was on the sidewalk.
"He actually made it!" Toboe exclaimed in relief. Sky had been told about this man and she was smart enough to know what he was capable of.
"Is that the man you helped?" she asked, looking up at him. "Yeah! You're mom is gonna be happy about this," Toboe replied with a smile.
When Quent saw the two young wolves, he didn't hesitate to pull out his rifle and he aimed it at them.
Sky hid behind Toboe quickly. Toboe gasped and his eyes widened.
Toboe couldn't hate this man even though he tried to kill him and the pack countless times before. This was Sky's first time seeing this man and it frightened her.
Sky pulled Toboe to get away from the man. "Hold it!" Quent shouted, going after them.
They hid behind a wall just as Quent made it up the stairs. Toboe looked around the corner carefully before he and Sky disappeared.
"C-Can he see what we are?" Sky asked Toboe. "Yeah, he can. But... I can't hate him," Toboe replied.
"He tried to hurt us though," Sky exclaimed. "I know, but... he isn't a bad guy," Toboe answered.
Sky looked up at him for a moment. She didn't understand it.
(Cher, Blue)
The two had wandered through the city for another couple of hours after getting the ID tags. Sky could hear them talking about Cheza and her relationship with wolves.
Their connection was inseperable; Blue could feel it very well and she couldn't shake it off.
Then, there was the sound of metal feet came from behind the girls. "Excuse me? You three lost?" a soldier asked.
Cher and Blue stood up and faced the soldiers. "We're not. Thank you," Cher replied.
"May I ask where you're from?" a soldier asked them, walking closer.
"Excuse me?" Cher asked. "There's no reason to hide it," the second soldier inquired, stepping towards them.
"So you're not from Freeze City then?" the second soldier asked.
"No. We're from a town called Kurios," Blue answered, eyes narrowed.
Both soldiers share a glance and nodded. "Kurios, huh? Strange that you three come down from that place. It had been torched to the ground many years ago," the same soldier said.
Blue's eyes widened when she heard this.
"Yeah, that village was the first one we burnt down. We were looking for a pack of wolves that happened to be hiding in it. We were tasked to kill every one of them. *Stands right in front of Blue* Man, that fire was surely beautiful. We burned every single inch of it until it was all gone," he said with a proud smile.
Blue froze when she realized what the soldier meant. The whole time… she and Quent had always placed blame on wolves for the deaths of their family. But it wasn't them all this time…
Anger brewed in her and her eyes turned red with rage. She tightened her fist and she wasn't able to hold it back any longer.
She threw a fist at the soldier, and it was strong enough to throw him off of his feet.
She saw the soldier raise his air gun to take her down.
Blue kneed the soldier in the jaw as she leaped over him, and landed on the other side of him.
The soldier no longer a woman. He saw a dark wolf in her place. Blue's tail was raised up and her fangs were bared..
"Hey, she's a wolf!" he shouted to his partner. The two of them stood as humans once again.
Cher had grabbed the man's gun to keep him from shooting her.
However, Blue was able to get out of the crossfire. Once on a ledge, she looked down at Cher, who gave her a nod.
Blue then takes off in another direction.
(Blue and Hige)
Hige had grabbed his collar out of desperation. His energy seemed to dwindle with each passing second.
When he grabbed his collar, a sudden realization hit him. He couldn't walk on any further and fell to the floor.
The truth about Blue's village made tears rise in her blue eyes. All this time... the wolves weren't to blame for what happened. It was those soldiers.
"Wolves didn't do it, Pops. It wasn't them all this time," she said to herself, walking down towards the alleyway where Hige laid.
When she made it, she heard Hige weak moans come from the floor. She stopped in her tracks and turned in Hige's direction.
Her eyes widened when she saw him on the ground. "Hige? Is that you?" she asked, a gasp leaving her mouth.
Hige opened his eyes and saw Blue standing in front of him.
"Blue...?" he said through a groan. Blue saw the state he was in and she knelt down in front of him. "Are you okay? Has anyone hurt you?" she asked him.
"You made it out of that keep in one piece. I'm glad..." he said, pushing himself up to sit against the wall.
Blue smiled at him gently. "I always knew we'd see each other again sometime, but I didn't think it'd be in the alley's of this awful place," she said.
She sat down beside Hige against the wall of the alleyway. "The only thing I could ever ask for now is to find Pops. Hige, I can tell him so much now! I can tell him that it wasn't wolves who destroyed our home. It wasn't them. It was never them," Blue said, tears welling up in her eyes. She buried her face in her knees.
Hige smiled weakly at her. "Blue... why don't we leave this place? We can't stay here forever. Tsume and Luna have a kid now so they won't be needing us," he said, getting to his feet.
"Huh? Wh-What about Kiba?" Blue wondered. She had no idea that they had a pup together.
When she said his name, Hige's demeanor quickly changed. "I don't care!" he shouted, grabbing Blue by her wrist and he hoisted her to her feet.
They sprinted down the street. "Hige, what's wrong with you!?" Blue shouted. Hige had gone back to his broken mental state.
All of his instincts were telling him to get the hell away from there. He just wanted to get somewhere where he wasn't watched.
But, there were cameras on every corner they turned. Blue didn't understand what was happening and she stopped when they made it to another alley and pulled her wrist free.
"Hige, stop! What's happened to you?" she exclaimed. Hige looked up at another camera and he grabbed his head. "AGH! They're watching me! They're all watching, I just know it! They're always watching," he cried, sweat dripping down his face from sheer terror.
He knew just who was on the other side of those cameras and it sent a chill down his bones.
Blue stared at him worriedly. "Hige... you're scaring me," she whispered to him, nervous by the sudden drastic change.
Hige grabs her wrist again and pulled her behind him again. "We have to get out of here!" he shrieked.
Blue was getting irritated and tried getting him to stop, but Hige refused to stop running.
"We have to run away from here fast!" Hige yelled in a panic. "Run away?! To where!?" Blue cried.
"It doesn't matter where! We should've never come here in the first place!" Hige shouted.
(Toboe and Sky)
Toboe and Sky had worked their way around until they found the same elevator they used to come up there.
"Is that the way, Uncle Toboe?" Sky asked, pointing towards it.
Toboe looked up from the floor and saw what she was pointing at. "Yeah, that's it! I know where we are! We can finally go back down!" he exclaimed, sprinting forrward. Sky followed suit.
Blue has had enough and she stopped, making Hige stop also. "Hige, stop would you?" she yelled, ripping her hand out of his vise-like grip.
"Why do you want to leave all of them behind like this? What about Cheza?" Blue asked.
Hige looked over his shoulder to look at her. His hazel eyes were filled with fear and each breath was shakey.
"Its too late for them! It's over!" he replied, his voice drowning out into the smallest whisper.
He grabbed his head again and squeezed his eyes shut. "And it's my fault, all of it! I brought them here!" he shouted in despair.
"Hige..." Blue whispered, eyes watering. They then hear two howls in the distance.
"It's Toboe!" Blue said. Hige recognized the second howl; it was Sky. "No..." he gasped.
(Toboe and Sky)
Two soldiers spotted the two young wolves. "Sky, run!" Toboe shouted. They tried running but both were shot down by the two soldiers.
Both fell unconscious in their wolf forms.
(Hige and Blue)
They jumped on a ledge that gave them a good view of Toboe and Sky. "Toboe! Sky! No!" Hige cried out, getting both soldiers' attention. Him and Blue made a run for it.
(Tsume and Luna)
The two wolves go through every corridor in silence. They didn't know if they were going in circles or not.
Luna's motherly instincts caused her to stop in her tracks. She looked over her shoulder and in the direction they came from.
"Luna? What is it?" Tsume said, noticing that she had stopped walking.
"Something's wrong, Tsume. We need to go back for Sky. I'm worried that something happened to her," she said.
Tsume understood how she felt. He could feel it too. He looked upwards and sighed.
"I feel it too. If we don't find what what we need, we'll go find her. I swear if Porky's lost her, I'm gonna kill him," Tsume swore, being serious with that threat.
"Yeah... Oh, God, I hope she's alright..." Luna said. All of her instincts were telling her to go to her daughter. She had put her trust into Hige and Toboe that they would keep Sky safe.
Tsume brought his mate into a hug to comfort her. "Everything will be fine, okay? I'm just as worried as you are about her. But we'll get back to her. I promise you," he said, kissing her.
She reciprocated the kiss, which lasted about five seconds. Afterwards, they carried on down the corridor, hand in hand.
They eventually came to a set of double doors that led into a dark room.
Luna had an uneasy feeling in her stomach and she couldn't shake it off. Tsume could feel it also.
It had a strange scent also. "There might be something behind here," Tsume said. He opened the doors and they both saw that it was dark as hell in there.
When they walked in there, they couldn't see anything. However, when their eyes adjusted to the darkness, their blood went cold.
There was glass tanks that had taxidermied wolves in them. All of them looked like Hige. They all had the same collars as Hige, but they had different letters on them.
Luna felt a lump in her throat and she started to shake from shock. "Tsume... Oh, God... I think I'm gonna be sick," Luna gasped, her stomach twisting.
Tsume was just as horrified as Luna was. Hige was one of Jaguara's wolves; he was used to kill his own kind. They couldn't believe their eyes.
Luna looked around until she saw a familiar pair of orange eyes shining through the darkness.
When she walked over, and she saw who it was... her knees felt weakened.
It was her father... taxidermied into a fucking trophy. She even saw her mother... and brother... how could they be...
Ryan's lifeless eyes looked back into Luna's. Hana, Luna's mother, looked as if she was howling. Aaron also stared ahead, eyes widened.
But Samara wasn't here. Did that mean she was alive somewhere?
Luna started crying when she realized what has happened.
"No... No!" she shouted. She slammed her fists on the glass and started to scream. She sobbed and pressed her face against the glass.
Tsume heard her screaming and crying; he turned around to see what was troubling her. He pulled his mate away, unable to handle to see her in pain.
He pulled her into his arms. Just then, then a cage had dropped on them. They were captured by the nobles.
(Kiba)
Kiba had run into Jaguara's soldiers. He was victorious in the battle, taking down every single one by the use of his own fangs.
When he was finished, he limped out of the room. He had been cut on his body, and blood stained his white fur.
It didn't stop him from going to Cheza. He went up a flight of stais. "Ch-Cheza... I'm coming..." he groaned.
He could feel that Cheza was close.
