Interlude: Of The Gods Greatest Mistake
The Gods were distraught, their mistake from 500 years ago… A mistake they had so much trouble destroying and turning it into thousands of puzzle pieces then buried it six foot underground. They hoped and did everything in their power for this mistake to be forgotten by every single soul on their world.
But they never noticed that one piece of the puzzle escaped their watch and got found. Now it's being analyzed and the mistake was slowly and surely getting exposed.
The mistake of 'inviting' the demons from Hell to their game.
No one dared put the blame on another as they all unanimously agreed to this idea that just popped up among them.
The idea was simple: 'inviting' by summon someone or something from another world, some sort of little crossover event, for fun.
A dice has been rolled to determine if the 'guest' would be good or bad. It ended on Bad. Then it was the choice of the world, it was also a pretty simple choice as the closest one, connected to the majority of the worlds, was Hell.
The real Hell, not the one they created for their game.
So after giving the instructions to a Dark Summoner, their first 'guest' arrived to their board game, the demon called itself an 'Arch-Vile'. Afterwards, it was enjoyable to see the demon allying itself with the Dark Forces and helping them fight the Adventurers, the monster's fire and resurrection magic was a sight to behold. The Dark Forces were ready to make it a Dark General for the Demon Lord.
The Gods started getting worried when the demon started to order a portal to be built and started to absorb souls to make itself and the forces of Darkness stronger.
It was time to end this little side story.
They sent the Hero and his party to the Dark Castle to deal with the Arch-Vile but to the Gods, and everyone else's surprise, the demon managed to defeat and kill the Hero and almost all of his party, with one escaping to warn the Kingdom.
While the Dark Forces feisted their victory, the Arch-Vile finished the Portal connecting this world to Hell. It then asked, under the worried eyes of the Gods, if the Hero it killed was the strongest creature in this world.
And when the Demon Lord himself affirmed that indeed, the Hero was powerful enough to defeat him, who's the strongest in the Dark Side, the Arch-Vile smirked and murdered the Demon Lord and his subjects.
More demons arrived, each of them strong and powerful.
The Gods watched in horror as the 'guest' cut its ties with its dark allies and became a third party to invade their game and turn it into a new Hell. Their 'fun event' turned into an awful one in a matter of days, they had to do something or they'll lose the world they worked so hard to make!
There was no choice but to send every single pawn that could fight into battle, Prayers and Non Prayers Characters.
The Gods bestowed on most of them cheat powers and blessings for having a chance of survival against the hordes of Hell. For the first time ever in History (of their game), hundreds of 'Heroes' and 'Dark Lords' appeared at the same time and were fighting on the same side.
The fight was brutal and without mercy, many 'Heroes' and 'Dark Lords' died but they managed to push back the demons towards the portal to Hell. It was time for the Gods to seal the deal, literally.
One God of each faction came down to Earth and pushed the remaining demons back into their world and sealed the Portal to Hell forever.
The work was done, but their world had drastically changed… and they didn't want that, it looked like a happy ending for their game. They certainly didn't want that! A choice had to be made: Erase all this event from absolutely everybody's mind, or just accept the end of the game and leave their world, start a new board game.
The decision was made by the roll of a dice.
What they didn't expect or predict was that some of their pawns got sealed away in Hell by mistake and got erased from their world's History at the same moment, becoming a piece of the puzzle; and that the demons evolved incredibly fast, becoming powerful enough to break the old, weakened seal of that ancient Portal to survive and get rid of a Marine in green armor that has been tormenting the forces of Hell for centuries.
And now here they were, the missing piece has been found, their Mistake might be revealed and the forces of Hell was approaching once again.
But this time, their bane was here to protect this world.
They might not need to have more 'Heroes' this time around, but what if this lone man wasn't enough?
Oh what to do…?
Baka's notes: And interlude done!
